  • Formula to follow addition of rows

    New to VBA, please help. I have a range say A2:D10; input causes rows to be added. New entries are being added using NextRow=_. Works perfectly, however, how do I get the formulas in columns C and D to follow each new row being added. I cannot just format entire column due to my sort criteria. Example formula is =IF(ISTEXT($B11),$C$2-$D11,"")

  • Macro to copy data from one sheet to another based on the current date

    Does anyone have a macro that copy data from one sheet to another based on the current date? I am working with a single workbook of three sheets. Sheet one will hold the manual input of daily production figures for multiple plants, sheet two is to hold ongoing daily data, keyed on sheet one. The macro will be associated with a button, so that once clicked it would search for every row that has a date of today, and copy that row to the next available blank row on sheet two. Sample Data...     I'm currently trying to search directories for any file labelled "??.??.????.xls" (for mm.dd.yyyy.xls). The problem I have is that the code I'm using also matches filenames such as "my-restaurant.12.01.2006.xls". I only want to match filenames with specifically the notation I used above.     I have a question: I need to create a user form that contain that usual OK and Cancel Buttons. It also should contain two sets of Options buttons, each set placed inside a frame. The captions on the first set should be basketball, baseball, football, the captions on the second set should be watch on TV and Go to games. I need to write the event handlers and code in a module so that when the program runs, the user sees the form. If the user makes a couple of choices and clicks OK, he should see a message like "Your favorite sport is basketball, and you usually watch on TV." If the user clicks Cancel, the message "Sorry you don't want to play" should appear. I think I almost have it working, but I don't know why I cannot successfully execute the Macro.     I've downloaded PHPExcel 1.7.5 Production. I would like to use setReadDataOnly() and enableMemoryOptimization() as discussed in their forum here and in stackoverflow questions. However when I use them, I get a Call to undefined method error. Is there another version or some plugin or library that I have not installed? I'm using this: Cell cc = sheet.getCell("B1"); CellFormat format = cc.getCellFormat(); System.out.println(format.getFont().isStruckout()); but I remember I read somewhere that CellFormat is deprecated and CellFeatures should be used instead. How could one find out whether a text is struck out using CellFeatures?

    I used csv2xls.pl to convert a text log into .xls format, and then I create a chart as in the following: my $chart3 = $workbook->add_chart( type => 'line' , embedded => 1); # Configure the series. $chart3->add_series( categories => '=Sheet1!$B$2:$B$64', values => '=Sheet1!$C$2:$C$64', name => 'Test data series 1', ); # Add some labels. $chart3->set_title( name => 'Bridge Rate Analysis' ); $chart3->set_x_axis( name => 'Packet Size ' ); $chart3->set_y_axis( name => 'BVI Rate' ); # Insert the chart into the main worksheet. $worksheet->insert_chart( 'G2', $chart3 ); I can see the chart in the .xls file. However, all the data are in text format, not numeric, so the chart looks wrong. How do I convert text into number before applying this create-chart function? Also, how do I sort the .xls file before creating the chart?
