  • NPOT texture and video memory usage

    I read in this QA that NPOT will take memory as much as next POT sized texture. It means it doesn't give any benefit than POT texture with proper management. (maybe even worse because NPOT should be slower!) Is this true? Does NPOT texture take and waste same memory like POT texture? I am considering NPOT texture for post-processing, so if it doesn't give memory space benefit, using of NPOT texture is meaningless to me. Maybe answer can be different for each platforms. I am targeting mobile devices. Such as iPhone or Androids. Does NPOT texture takes same amount of memory on mobile GPUs?

    I am a software developer; in fact a mobile application developer with 4 years of experience. I am passionate about training. I have never been an official trainer but, I have trained freshers on mobile technologies. Now how do I become a professional technical trainer. I have following questions: Do I need some kind of professional certification or degree? Is it too early for me to start as a trainer? I mean experience wise. I will not ask if it's worth it because I am very keen on pursuing training as a profession. However, if I have to be up to date with technology, I don't think I can give up coding and pursue training full time. Any pointers or guidelines would be helpful.

    The number of platforms I have to develops apps for is increasing and It brings me lots of stress to learn new technologies for each target platform. I found out that Telerik's Kendo UI is very good to build websites that look and feel native on mobile platforms (e.g. iOS and Android). My question is, is it possible to build HTML5 apps to deploy them on iTunes App Store and Google Play? Please note that I am eager to know the possibility of creating apps (complete apps bundled in standard format of Apple and Google for distribution in their respective mobile app markets) but not websites.

    I'm working on a project that requires touch interface, though the use case is desktop more than mobile. Want to start out platform agnostic, not a mobile app. There will be gridwork type of 3D objects and diagraming being represented - think AutoCAD or Minority Report. Want to build a prototype that will have hooks into a database to represent the data.     I am generating reports in HTML formats, and want to print them automatically using Qt (qt has a webkit based browser, and one can render its contents to a PDF file). I want to position the elements of the report depending on the target page size. For that i need to access the size of the paper (preferably in pixels). Since i am using webkit, it has all the latest html5 and css3 features. is there some api available to access printed page properties inside javascript. for example, would be nice to write: window.print_paper.width or window.print_paper.height Thank you in advance

There is also a login before and this page will be shown automatically after the login after a $.mobile.changePage("#home"); function. I tried to do it as first page before the function of changePage and it gave me the same effect. If i put a   for example after the <div data-role="content" height="100%" data-iscroll>&nbps; The Wrapper get a height of 15px for the &nbps; but not for the images inside.

  • JS framework with conditionally loaded fragments

    I'm doing a single-page, responsive, mobile first design. I found this article about conditionally loaded fragments but am wondering what the different js frameworks have build-in to handle this? I'm imagining the mobile version with a list view fragment that transitions to a show view fragment. A larger portal could just show both fragments and change the show fragment when items in the list are clicked. I'd love thoughts on what is available from the various frameworks, not an argument. Ember?, Angular?, etc. Maybe I'm missing it, but I'm not seeing the responsive fragments issue brought up in the various demos I've found so far.
