Linux newbie here, anyway so here is the problem, I run Ubuntu 10.10 and I have a Sitecom 300N x2 Wireless Network dongle with chipset 8192SU, I used ndiswrapper to install my Windows Wireless driver because Sitecom doesn't have a linux driver, it says hardware present but it doesn't find any Wireless networks, nor does it connect to one. What can I do? • Casting an object using 'as' returns null: myObject = newObject as MyObject; // null

    - by John Russell
I am trying to create a custom object in AS3 to pass information to and from a server, which in this case will be Red5. In the below screenshots you will see that I am able to send a request for an object from as3, and receive it successfully from the java server. However, when I try to cast the received object to my defined objectType using 'as', it takes the value of null. It is my understanding that that when using "as" your checking to see if your variable is a member of the specified data type. If the variable is not, then null will be returned. This screenshot illustrates that I am have successfully received my object 'o' from red5 and I am just about to cast it to the (supposedly) identical datatype testObject of LobbyData: However, when testObject = o as LobbyData; runs, it returns null. :( Below you will see my specifications both on the java server and the as3 client. I am confident that both objects are identical in every way, but for some reason flash does not think so. I have been pulling my hair out for a long time, does anyone have any thoughts? • can Dell netbooks with HDTV tuner drive HDMI output to 1920 x 1080 HDTV, and does any other brand of

    - by Jian Lin
It has been a while that Dell netbook offered an internal HDTV tuner, and it always seem like Dell is the only one that has an internal HDTV tuner? And actually, does anyone have experience with it, since the processor is very basic, can it handle smooth HDTV on screen full size, and especially for the Dell mini 1010, it can output to HDMI, so can it drive an HDTV that is 1920 x 1080? thanks.

  • ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small with Oracle aggregate f

    - by Tunde
Good day gurus, I have a script that populates tables on a regular basis that crashed and gave the above error. The strange thing is that it has been running for close to 3 months on the production system with no problems and suddenly crashed last week. There has not been any changes on the tables as far as I know. Has anyone encountered something like this before? I believe it has something to do with the aggregate functions I'm implementing in it; but it worked initially. please; kindly find attached the part of the script I've developed into a procedure that I reckon gives the error. • How to redirect Cisco IOS's show output to HTTP URL?

I found there's a redirect output modifier of Cisco IOS ( version 12.2(53)SE1 ), and there's http: URI support: #sh version | redirect ? flash: Uniform Resource Locator ftp: Uniform Resource Locator http: Uniform Resource Locator https: Uniform Resource Locator nvram: Uniform Resource Locator rcp: Uniform Resource Locator scp: Uniform Resource Locator tftp: Uniform Resource Locator However, I cannot find any document on cisco.com about the http support. I tried sh version | redirect http://my_server/ and cannot find any information on my_server's access log. Can anyone give me a hint?

    - by Ahmed
I use asp:Login control, user can login properly, but while checking user Profile information within LoggedIn event of Login control, all of the fields in the Profile objects are empty. Also, User.Identity.IsAuthenticated always returns false. But, all of these issue solved while navigating to another page. Why User.Identity.IsAuthenticated returns false, even user logged-in properly? And, is there any way to get user's profile information within LoggedIn event of Login control?

  • How do I make an HTML text box show a hint when empty?

    - by Michael L Perry
I want the search box on my web page to display the word "Search" in gray italics. When the box receives focus, it should look just like an empty text box. If there is already text in it, it should display the text normally (black, non-italics). This will help me avoid clutter by removing the label. BTW, this is an on-page AJAX search, so it has no button.

  • Access to Perl's empty angle "<>" operator from an actual filehandle?

    - by Ryan Thompson
I like to use the nifty perl feature where reading from the empty angle operator <> magically gives your program UNIX filter semantics, but I'd like to be able to access this feature through an actual filehandle (or IO::Handle object, or similar), so that I can do things like pass it into subroutines and such. Is there any way to do this? This question is particularly hard to google, because searching for "angle operator" and "filehandle" just tells me how to read from filehandles using the angle operator.

  • In Ruby on Rails, why will story.votes return an empty Array object, but story.votes.create will act

    - by Jian Lin
In Ruby on Rails, say a Story object can "has_many" Vote objects (a story is voted "hot" by many users). So when we do a s = Story.find(:first) s is a Story object, and say s.votes returns [] and s.votes.class returns Array So clearly, s.votes is an empty Array object. At this time, when s.votes.create is called, it actually invokes a method of the Vote class? How come an Array class object can invoke a Vote class method?

  • Is there a program that can colourize the output of any linux command?

    - by BeeBand
Or would I have to write my own? What's the best language for building a tool of this kind? I'm kind of new to linux, but I'm guessing that you could pass the output of a program to a particular script and have it display it in various colours, based on some regular expressions (constructed from some kind of config file perhaps). Or has it been done already...?

For example, a snippet from the resulting xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <InboundFargoMessage xmlns:p="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd" xmlns:far="http://www.itella.com/fargo/fargogate/" xmlns:a="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd"> <EdiSender>XXXX</EdiSender> <EdiReceiver>YYYY</EdiReceiver> <EdiSource>TR/BAL/IST</EdiSource> <EdiDestination>FARGO</EdiDestination> <Transportations> <EdiImportTransportationDTO> <Consignments> <EdiImportConsignmentDTO> <ConsignmentLines> <EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> <DangerousGoodsItems> <EdiImportDangerGoodsItemDTO> <EdiKolliTypeOuter/> <EdiKolliTypeInner/> <EdiTechnicalDescription/> <EdiUNno/> <EdiClass/> <EdiDangerFactor/> <EdiEmergencyTemperature/> </EdiImportDangerGoodsItemDTO> </DangerousGoodsItems> <BarCodes> <EdiImportConsignmentLineBarcodeDTO/> </BarCodes> <EdiNumberOfPieces>00000002</EdiNumberOfPieces> <EdiGrossWeight>0.000</EdiGrossWeight> <EdiHeight/> <EdiWidth/> <EdiLength/> <EdiGoodsDescription/> <EdiMarkingAndNumber/> <EdiKolliType>road</EdiKolliType> <EdiCbm/> <EdiLdm/> </EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> That really needs to be: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <InboundFargoMessage xmlns:p="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd" xmlns:far="http://www.itella.com/fargo/fargogate/" xmlns:a="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd"> <EdiSender>XXXX</EdiSender> <EdiReceiver>YYYY</EdiReceiver> <EdiSource>TR/BAL/IST</EdiSource> <EdiDestination>FARGO</EdiDestination> <Transportations> <EdiImportTransportationDTO> <Consignments> <EdiImportConsignmentDTO> <ConsignmentLines> <EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> <DangerousGoodsItems/> <BarCodes/> <EdiNumberOfPieces>00000002</EdiNumberOfPieces> <EdiGrossWeight>0.000</EdiGrossWeight> <EdiKolliType>road</EdiKolliType> </EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> In other words: Empty elements should be left out.

  • Using RhinoMocks, how do you mock or stub a concrete class without an empty constructor?

    - by Mark Rogers
Mocking a concrete class with Rhino Mocks seems to work pretty easy when you have an empty constructor on a class: public class MyClass{ public MyClass() {} } But if I add a constructor that takes parameters and remove the one that doesn't take parameters: public class MyClass{ public MyClass(MyOtherClass instance) {} } I tend to get an exception: System.MissingMethodException : Can't find a constructor with matching arguments I've tried putting in nulls in my call to Mock or Stub, but it doesn't work. Can I create mocks or stubs of concrete classes with Rhino Mocks, or must I always supply (implicitly or explicitly) a parameter-less constructor?

  • Java: Possible to consolidate empty subdirectories for packages that only contain other packages?

    - by BinaryMuse
Good afternoon, all. I'm not too hopeful for a "yes" here, but if anyone can figure it out, the folks at SO can. I have a Java project that has the following package structure: src |-net | |-binarymuse | |-gwt | |-client | | |-ui | | |-project | | |-Project.java | |-Project.gwt.xml |-overview.html I would like to consolidate the empty subdirectories in the src/ folder so that instead of /src/net/binarymuse/gwt/client/ui/project/ I'd have /src/net.binarymuse.gwt/client.ui.project/. Is this possible? Thanks.
