  • using a connection string in web.config for crystal report

    I`m having problems between two servers, wich use differente odbc dsn. My apps work great but crystal reports uses the original odbc connection, how can I fix this?   • Multiple tables on one page with prawn

    Hey, I'm using prawn for pdf generation and everything works quite well, but now I'm having a bit of a problem. When I put multiple tables on one page, they just get put over each other and not under each other. Is this normal behaviour and what can I do about it? I add the tables on the most normal behaviour btw :) Thanks!

    I'm looking for a good tool for printing Invoices, Receipts and similar documents in Java Swing. I have tried JasperReports but it is pretty hard to get a dynamic layout and it is designing for reports. A requirement that I have is that the document should be sent directly to the printer and must not be saved to a file. So some tools that first creates an Office Document or a PDF document isn't a solution for me. Any recommendations?

  • Access Creates new file every time I Compact & Repair

    It didn't always do this, but ever since I split my database and made the front-end an ACCDE file, any time I try to compact and repair either file, a new file called "Database 1" is generated and my original file size doesn't change. Is this normal? My ACCDB is roughly 20MB, and my ACCDE is just over 1M after being used the first time. Before opening, the ACCDE was only 600k (I have lots of forms and queries, and regularly store PDF attachments.

    We have an xml node "item" with an attribute "style", which is "Header1". This style can change however. We have an attribute set named Header1 which defines how this should look in a PDF, generated through xsl:fo. This works (the use-attribute-sets is mentioned inline, in the fo:table-cell node): <xsl:template match="item[@type='label']"> <fo:table-row> <fo:table-cell xsl:use-attribute-sets="Header1"> <fo:block> <fo:inline font-size="8pt" > <xsl:value-of select="." /> </fo:inline> </fo:block> </fo:table-cell> </fo:table-row> </xsl:template> But this doesn't (using xsl:attribute, because the attribute @style can also be Header2 for example).     Hi, I have a StreamReader object that I initialized with a stream, now I want to save this stream to disk (the stream may be a gif or jpg or pdf etc). SO my code so far is: StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(myOtherObject.InputStream); I need to save this to disk (I have the filename). In the future I may want to store this to sqlserver I have the encoding type also, which I will need if I store it to sql server right?

FileStream fs = new FileStream(SaveLocation, FileMode.Create); fs.Write(result.DocumentBytes, 0, result.DocumentBytes.Length); fs.Flush(); fs.Close(); It works fine. However sometimes it does not release the lock right away and that causes file locking exceptions with functions run after this one run. Is there a ideal way to release the file lock right after the fs.Close()
