    I was looking for information on how other people with larger teams manage SourceSafe currently. I was looking for recommendations and advice for a new project I was setting up that will allow for a few key things Scalability Manage multiple overlapping releases Geared more around .NET however allows for legacy applications (VB, ASP and VBS) I am really looking for any lessons learned from other teams. I come from a StarTeam background and we used view labels and release labels to manage multiple overlapping projects. View labels geared more towards compiled code and SQL and the revision labels were used for VB/ASP projects. Thank you for any advice and sharing your experience and frustrations with other companies you might have worked with in the past.

    A while ago I downloaded the latest version (3.1) of the CKEditor text editor. The directory name was ckeditor and I deleted the ckeditor/_source and ckeditor/_samples sub-directories, then I referenced the ckeditor.js file in my html pages, like so : <script type="text/javascript" src="ckeditor/ckeditor.js"></script> this works well. To make config changes, I have been modifying the ckeditor/config.js file. However, as of late, I have been reading various web resources that say 'do not delete the _source' folder and other such ominous messages. What is this _source folder? What is all the stuff at the root of the ckeditor folder? and, What is safe to remove from the folder?

Does somebody know a quick way to do it? with C#? I have been trying this but is not working at all...     I've installed CCNet and now I'm trying to set up a link to our repository. When I visit the CCNet dashboard website the project shows up ok, but when I click the Force button I receive this error in the messages column: Failing Tasks : FilteredSourceControl: CheckForModifications If I log into the server as the account which I've specified CCNet should use to connect to the repository, and do an Update on the project by hand (i.e. using SVN.exe or TortoiseSVN) the update works fine.     I'm trying to solve this programming riddle and althought the solution (see code below) works correct, it is too slow for succesful submission. Any pointers as how to make this run faster? (removal of every n-th element from a list)? Or suggestions for a better algorithm to calculate the same; seems I can't think of anything else then brute-force for now... Basically the task at hand is: GIVEN: L = [2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,........] 1. Take the first remaining item in list L (in the general case 'n'). Move it to the 'lucky number list'. Then drop every 'n-th' item from the list. 2.   • Mercurial hg clone error - "abort: error: Name or service not known"

    I have installed the latest hg package available for Fedora Linux. However, hg clone reports an error. hg clone http://localmachine001:8000/ repository reports: "abort: error: Name or service not known" localmachine001 is a computer within the local network. I can ping it from my Linux box without any problems. I can also use the same http address and browse the existing code. However, hg clone does not work. If I execute the same command from my Macintosh machine, I can easily clone the repository. Some Internet resources recommend editing .hgrc file, and adding proxy to it: [http_proxy] host=proxy:8080 I have tried that without any success. Also, I assume that proxy is not needed in this case, since the hg server machine is in my local network. Can anyone recommend me what should I do, or how could I track the problem? But there is one problem.... :( for example: If I have following two matrix and I want to calculate cosine similarity it does not work as rows are not same in length doc 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 doc 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 5 2 4 9 if rows and colums are same in length then my program works very well but it does not if rows and columns are not in same length.   • Transitioning to Branching with TFS

    Our team is currently using plain old TFS 2005, no branching, shared checkouts etc... I would like to introduce a DEV/MAIN/PROD branching system simillar to the basic flavor in the TFS Guidance document so that we can do some parallel dev, isolation, and firm up review and deployment processes. I have read most of the whitepapers etc. Do you guys have any practical advice, suggested tools, gotchas or reccomendations. Also, we plan to migrate to 2010 once it comes out - not sure if that would affect anything. I appreciate all the suggestions and help I can get as I am a branching neophyte. Thanks in advance.

  • Error connecting to online fossil repository after changing password.

    I set up a fossil repository on a shared hosting account I have. I created a perl script fossil.pl that points to a cloned repository that I put up on the webspace. I set all the correct permissions (755). When I go to fossil.pl I get the web ui. Everythings cool. However I'm having a problem with pushes and hoping someone could point me to a solution. When I clone a repository it sets a new password for me (Toby) in the new cloned repository. If I push to this repository online without changing the password it works fine, I can push up changes from my local machine to the online repository. However once I change the password for Toby (to something more easily remembered by me) I get the following error. Bytes Cards Artifacts Deltas Send: 1810 9 0 2 1Server Error: not authorized to write fossil: server says: not authorized to write Anyone know why this is happening? Anyone know how to fix it?
