  In Oracle I've created a data type: TABLE of VARCHAR2(200) I want to have a variable of this type within a Stored Procedure (defined locally, not as an actual table in the DB) and fill it with data. Some online samples show how I'd use my type if it was filled and passed as a parameter to the stored procedure: SELECT column_value currVal FROM table(pMyPassedParameter) However what I want is to fill it during the PL/SQL code itself, with INSERT statements.   when i put ajax on my code I send a group of variable via post but when i received the data it is in a obj.responseText ie TEXT format. say i have two files "form.php" and "index.php" ajax is implemented in form.php while index.php returns the text. but my problem is index.php also generates a variable named "tarriff_count" i want to catch systematically and separately this variable, Is there any systematic way to catch variable.also keep in mind "obj.responseText" is very complicated to get a variable from "preg_match" ?

The code is targeting OS X on the iphone/itouch so no automatic GC. -(NSString*) stringExample { NSString *result = @"example"; result = [result stringByAppendingString:@" test"]; // where does "example" go? return result; } What confuses me is an NSStrings are immutable, but you can reuse an 'immutable' variable with no problem.

  I am using JAXB to bind XML to Java for an application that I am writing. I have an element called measure which contains two amount elements called amount and maxAmount, with which I want to model a lower and an upper limiting value. amount and maxAmount are otherwise identical and I would like them to be implemented with the same class when unmarshalled into Java. The following is an extract from the XML schema which I feed to JAXB: <xsd:attributeGroup name="AmountAttributes"> <xsd:attribute name="quantity" type="xsd:decimal"/> <xsd:attribute name="numerator" type="xsd:nonNegativeInteger"/> <xsd:attribute name="denominator" type="xsd:positiveInteger"/> </xsd:attributeGroup> <xsd:element name="measure"> <xsd:complexType> <xsd:sequence> <xsd:element minOccurs="0" name="amount"> <xsd:complexType> <xsd:attributeGroup ref="mpr:AmountAttributes"/> </xsd:complexType> </xsd:element> <xsd:element minOccurs="0" name="maxAmount"> <xsd:complexType> <xsd:attributeGroup ref="mpr:AmountAttributes"/> </xsd:complexType> </xsd:element> </xsd:sequence> </xsd:complexType> </xsd:element> JAXB creates from this a more elaborate version of the following: public class Measure { protected Measure.Amount amount; protected Measure.MaxAmount maxAmount; public static class Measure.Amount {} public static class Measure.MaxAmount {} } Measure.Amount and Measure.MaxAmount are identical except for their names, but - of course - as far as Java is concerned they have little to do with each other. Is there a way of making JAXB use the same class for both amount and maxAmount? Just to come completely clean ;-) I should mention that I generate the XML schema from RNC using Trang. If the answer to the question is "change the XML schema", I have the supplementary question "how do I change the RNC to produce that XML schema?". My RNC looks like this: AmountAttributes = QuantityAttribute? & attribute numerator { xsd:nonNegativeInteger }? & attribute denominator { xsd:positiveInteger }? QuantityAttribute = attribute quantity { xsd:decimal } Measure = element measure { element amount { AmountAttributes }?, element maxAmount { AmountAttributes }? }+ I use RNC because I find it simpler to understand, but if the solution to my problem means just using XML Schema, so be it.   At the moment I have a regular expression that looks like this: ^(cat|dog|bird){1}(cat|dog|bird)?(cat|dog|bird)?$ It matches at least 1, and at most 3 instances of a long list of words and makes the matching words for each group available via the corresponding variable. Is there a way to revise this so that I can return the result for each word in the string without specifying the number of groups beforehand? ^(cat|dog|bird)+$ works but only returns the last match separately , because there is only one group.

  This is quite a quick question. I currently use do_this if (testvar ||= false) Which works just fine. But this approach unnerves me because while fast, it does not short-circuit like defined?(testvar) && testvar does, and it instantiates and assigns a value to a local variable that is subsequently never used, which seems inefficient. I enjoy the very reasonable fact that instance variables are nil before assignment, but I'd like for the situation to be just as easy for local variables.
