  my build is a 3 step process. run ant to build. transfer war to server. touch reload file. I have transfered last two steps in groovy, using antbuilder. However, I am not able to run my existing ant script using groovy. Usually I run it using the following command in dos prompt: ant -Dsystem=mysystem -DsomeotherOption=true from groovy when I try to do "ant -Dsystem=mysystem -DsomeotherOption=true".execute() it gives an error saying ant is not a recognized command. How can I utilize my existing ant script in groovy?

• MVC.NET project won't start under IIS 5.1 on Windows XP SP3

  I've a MVC.NET 2 project that runs fine under Windows 7 and will start on Windows XP if I use the Visual Studio Development Server, however, starting under IIS generates an error: Unable to start debugging on the web server With the message The specified procedure could not be found No errors in the system event viewer. If I start without debugging I get an "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" The reason I run it under IIS is the project also includes some WCF wsHttp web services that use certificates, so the VS Development Server is not adequate for hosting those. I have already seen the links on SO that talk about adding the wildcard mapping. I've already done that, just as I've done on Windows Server 2003 where I successfully host MVC.NET RC2 for quite a while.

• Run both Authorize Filter and Action Filter on unauthenticated ASP.NET MVC request

  I have decorated my base controller with a couple of action filters. They work fine. One of those filters sets up the request - does things like set the culture based on the domain, etc. I also have a handful of actions that require authorization using the Authorize attribute. My problem is that when an user attempts to request a page they are not authorized to access, the authorization filter kicks in and redirects them to a page telling them that they cannot vie the page. The issue is that the action filters never run so the culture and other request data is never set. This effectively causes language to be wrong in the view and other data to be missing. I know that authorization filters run first but my question is this: How can I design this such that I can ensure that certain methods are always run before the view is returned, regardless of the authorization. Hope that makes sense.

  Is there any existing plumbing to run WCF calls in batches in a BackgroundWorker? Obviously since all Silverlight WCF calls are async - if I run them all in a backgroundworker they will all return instantly. I just don't want to implement a nasty hack if theres a nice way to run service calls and collect the results. Doesnt matter what order they are done in All operations are independent I'd like to have no more than 5 items running at once Edit: i've also noticed (when using Fiddler) that no more than about 7 calls are able to be sent at any one time. Even when running out-of-browser this limit applies. Is this due to my default browser settings - or configurable also. obviously its a poor man's solution (and not suitable for what i want) but something I'll probably need to take account of to make sure the rest of my app remains responsive if i'm running this as a background task and don't want it using up all my connections.

  I am currently using GNU Emacs 23.0.93.1 in Windows Vista SP1. In my .emacs file I make a call to (server-start) and that is causing an error with the message The directory ~/.emacs.d/server is unsafe. • Process.Start concatenating cmd line from previous invocation

  Hi, I am using a Process.Start in .Net 2.0 to start a child win32 app. Process.start ( "SomeProcess.exe", "<Cmd line>" ); The process runs fine but and the user then closes this window. However if I then run the same process again in the same session, the cmd line recieved by the called process is now a concatentation of the previous call. I.e SomeProcess.exe recieves the cmd line " SomeProcess.exe ". Has anyone else seen this behaviour before? Any help much appreciated. Ralph.

  I tried to run winpdb.py, but I got an error saying that it could not find wxPython. This is strange to me because I know I have wxPython installed and included in my PYTHONPATH. I can import wx in the Python interpreter.   Hi, I basically want to able to run an command line tool that already exists on the desired machine against the directory the files were run to. I.e The Installer does the following: Specify a location for the files to go into (INSTALLOCATION variable) Then after copying has finished run a tool which will zip the files and attach them to attach them to another application. <CustomAction Id="InstallTo" Return="check" Directory="INSTALLLOCATION" Execute="immediate" ExeCommand='"C:\MyTool\Here\Tool.exe" -ad [INSTALLLOCATION] Poop 1.0'/> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action="InstallTo" After="InstallFinalize">$InstallTo&gt;2</Custom> </InstallExecuteSequence> At the moment I'm not sure anyuthing is being called, is there a way to basically have this two step install and report progress if the tool failed/doesn't exist etc. Thanks, Jamie

  I deployed my working package on server which is enterprise edition, SSIS installed on it. When I tries to run package by connecting to integration services engine from my desktop SQL client (which doesn't have SSIS installed) I get error "The task "Send Mail Task" cannot run on this edition of Integration Services. It requires a higher level edition." Does it mean that I need to login to the server (RDP) and then run the package? Also, when I schedule the package thru SQL agent it fails saying login time out but my windos auth login works for everything from connecting, deployment. Any clue?

• Cannot run a VM with more than three network interfaces with KVM

  I'm running KVM on top of Ubuntu 10.10 Server I can create VM's (Virtual Machine) and network interfaces fine but I cannot seem to add more than three network interfaces. As soon as I have a VM with four network interfaces it gets stuck on startup at the starting SeaBIOS page with this message: Starting SeaBIOS (version pre-0.6.1-20100702_143500-palmer) So far I've verified this with two VM's, a Ubuntu 10.10 desktop and a Vyatta router. The specific network hardware I assign to the VM's doesn't seem to matter. I'm trying to have one bridged interface and three private networks using Vyatta to route between them. Does anyone know why I can't run a VM with more than three network interfaces? Edit: Additionally the KVM thread responsible for the specific VM hangs using ~100% CPU (i.e. one core). Basically he wants to set up Django app (made on Django 1.3, but will be moving to Django 1.4, so it should not really matter which one of these two will work, I hope) on WSGI on nginx, installed on Amazon EC2. The app runs correctly when Django's development server is used (with ./manage.py runserver 0.0.0.0:8080 for example), also Apache works correctly. The only problem is with nginx and it looks there is something else wrong with nginx / WSGI or Django configuration. • SQL 2008 Database tuning advisor won't start

  For some reason I can't get DTA to connect to my development machine. It connects to a remote DB just fine but when I point it to my dev machine I get an error saying: Failed to initialize MSDB database for tuning (exit code: -1073741819). I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue since I've used profiler to capture what it's doing and all of the commands it's run so far look fine and are being run under my account which is associated with the sysadmin role, when I run them in sql management studio they go through fine. I'm pretty convinced that the problem is related to creating the objects in MSDB that are used by DTA but I tried creating these manually (I found scripts on the web) and it just seems to push the problem along the line slightly. I'm going out of my mind - have even tried reinstalling SQL but that's not fixed it. I'm using SQL 2008 with SP1 (10.0.2531) on windows server 2008 (patched up to date). SAVE ME!!!!!

• MVC: On partial page start validation from JS without postback

  How do I start validation from the client/javascript using the MS MVC Validation library? Using MS ASP.Net MVC, I have a page with a PartialView in a modal dialog (change password). When the user selects 'save', I need to validate this on the client side without a full page postback. I am able in JS to post and refresh the partialView, however I am unable to start client validation. The MS MVC validation starts on postback (Input type='submit'). How can I start this in JS? • What disables "Run Project" in Expression Blend 3

  I am developing a Sketchflow (Silverlight) project in Expression Blend 3. It has been working fine up until today, now I cannot run the project. Specifically in the Project menu the "Run Project" option is now greyed out (all the other options are fine). F5 also doesn't have any effect. I've obviously messed up the code somewhere but I can't find any information on what could cause the "Run Project" option to be disabled. This would obviously help the troubleshooting. Does anybody know what controls this functionality? I can build the project no problem. And if I package the project (so it runs outside Expression) this also works fine. It is just launching it from Expression that doesn't work.

  Guys and Gals, a really stupid question: How do I run a PowerShell script? I have a script named myscript.ps1 I have all the necessary frameworks installed I set that execution policy thing I have followed the instructions on this MSDN help page and am trying to run it like so: powershell.exe 'C:\my_path\yada_yada\run_import_script.ps1' (with or withot --noexit) which returns exactly nothing, except that the file name is output. No error, no message, nothing. Oh, when I add -noexit, the same thing happens but I remain within Powershell, and have to exit manually. The ps1 file is supposed to run a program, and return the error level dependant on that program's output. But I'm quite sure I'm not even getting there yet. What am I doing wrong?

• Boost::Asio : io_service.run() vs poll() or how do I integrate boost::asio in mainloop

  Hi, I am currently trying to use boost::asio for some simple tcp networking for the first time, and I allready came across something I am not really sure how to deal with. As far as I understand io_service.run() method is basically a loop which runs until there is nothing more left to do, which means it will run until I release my little server object. Since I allready got some sort of mainloop set up, I would rather like tp update the networking loop manually from there just for the sake of simplicity, and I think io_service.poll() would do what I want, sort of like this: void myApplication::update() { myIoService.poll(); //do other stuff } This seems to work, but I am still wondering if there is a drawback from this method since that does not seem to be the common way to deal with boost::asios io services. Is this a valid approach or should I rather use io_service.run() in a non blocking extra thread?

  I apologize in advance if the question is dummy ,i use Python 3.2.3 on Windows xp ,now i need Python3.3.2 , but i can't remove Python 3.2.3 because i have many codes and packages need to be run by it. I installed virtualenv to run two versions of Python in two different environments , but after that i didn't know what to do to run a code using Python 3.3.2 , here what i did: C:\>virtualenv.exe env1 C:\>env1\Scripts\activate now i don't know what to do after a folder was created its name env1 , i downloaded Python 3.3.2 and installed it in the same folder (env1) , is that correct ? then i try the following: (env1) C:\>python3.3.2 I got the following : 'python3.3.2' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. also i tried : (env1) C:\>python python33 I got the following: python: can't open file 'python33': [Errno 2] No such file or directory As i mentioned , i stuck at this point , any help will be very appreciated. • Bluray Burner in Java - Where to start?

  Like the subject of this post suggests, I am looking at developing a suite like nero which helps burn bluray discs. I am kind of clueless as to where to start. Is there anything in Java API that lets you do this? If I were to start from scratch, would I need to start with the bluray disc spec? Are there any open source tools which are already doing this? I tried searching at sourceforge.net and found nothing useful. Any help is much appreciated.

• selenium RC doesnt run the whole test suite

  I'm trying to run an html testSuite with Selenium RC. The browser starts, the first test runs, and it stops. It doesnt continue to the second test case. I named both the test cases with .html extension. IAm using Firefox. If i run them manually , individually from the selenium RC test runner window they run ok. what am i missing, this seems pretty simple but yet iam not able to get this working. • perl: Run remote perl script through SSH and query environment variables on remote machine

  I'm running a perl script through SSH, in the perl script I query environment variables using $ENV{MY_VAR_NAME} and it works fine when run locally. But through SSH, all environment variables become unset. I also tried to run system("source ~/.bash_profile"); at the beginning of my script to no avail. Any tips? EDIT: Rephrasing my question. I have machine A and B. I ran my perl on machine B, trying to get the environment variables on B and it worked. Then I ssh from A to B running the same script, i.e., using this code ssh user@B perl myscript.pl This time the environment variables on B are all blank. Any tips? UPDATE: I found that running the above script, ~/.bashrc on Machine B was invoked, but after setting environment variables in ~/.bashrc, run the above command again and still I don't see any environment variables. Also, if my perl script contains only echo $ENV{PATH} Then I get /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin

• Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware

  The whole installation goes smoothly up to the point of "Completing installation ...". The monitor changes resolution, after which a standard dialog box pops up saying Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware Then, in a few seconds, the whole machine powers down. Trying to restart produces the message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} 0x00000000 (0xc0000001 0x00100448) OR it boots into Setup and comes up with the message: Windows Setup encountered an unexpected error... (This is not the actual error, just paraphrasing) I tried using the OEM restore instead of a regular install, but it fails with the same error. (Even though it worked before...) General specs: HP Pavilion Elite e9262f Intel Core i5-750 Processor ATI Radeon HD 4650 Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 ATA Device 6GB DDR3 RAM SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe Some built-in Wi-Fi module http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01916917 I've tried disconnecting the wireless card and disabling the built-in Ethernet and Firewire via the BIOS, and replacing the wireless keyboard and mouse with wired USB ones. Didn't work. I've also tried changing the SATA controller settings in the BIOS to RAID, AHCI, and IDE, reinstalling each time I changed. Still not working. I think the reason why it is showing the Fatal System Error is because it didn't finish installing before it errored out and shut down, so the system is left in an inconsistent state. I've tried 3 different copies (including the OEM restore) of Windows 7 now, and they're all failing at the same point, with the same error message. I've tried to install Windows 7 maybe 10 times already, with the exact same error message at the exact same location. Hm... Interestingly, the 32-bit version of Windows 7 works, but the 64-bit version doesn't. Perhaps it was a badly burned disk? Reburning the 64-bit version still comes up with the same error. • Run java thread at specific times

  I have a web application that synchronizes with a central database four times per hour. The process usually takes 2 minutes. I would like to run this process as a thread at X:55, X:10, X:25, and X:40 so that the users knows that at X:00, X:15, X:30, and X:45 they have a clean copy of the database. It is just about managing expectations. I have gone through the executor in java.util.concurrent but the scheduling is done with the scheduleAtFixedRate which I believe provides no guarantee about when this is actually run in terms of the hours. I could use a first delay to launch the Runnable so that the first one is close to the launch time and schedule for every 15 minutes but it seems that this would probably diverge in time. Is there an easier way to schedule the thread to run 5 minutes before every quarter hour?

• Is it possible to run a MIDP application under Android

  The Google Market offers an application purporting to run J2ME MIDP applications on the Nexus One. I have tried this application but it only appears to run MIDP applications that are downloaded from particular web sites; it does not seem capable of picking up a MIDP application that is stored on the SD card in the phone. I have suggested to the developers that they might like to add such functionality, but they have not been particularly responsive to my messages. So I would like to build my own MIDP runner for Android and would like to see if I can find a pointer as to where to start, or even whether this is possible. The MIDP application in question was supplied on CD along with a security camera system and permits remote viewing and remote control over the security system. Clearly it wasn't built with the Android platform in mind. However, if it is possible somehow to run MIDP applications on Android (perhaps by creating some kind of sandbox environment for example) then I'd be quite keen to develop it.

Cannot locate resource 'resources/icon.gif'. Error at object 'MainWindow' in markup file 'A;component/shell/shellview.xaml'. How can I transfer from B images and resources info to A? Thanks!
