We have a C# web app where users will connect using a digital certificate stored in their browsers.
From the examples that we have seen, verifying their identity will be easy once we enable SSL, as we can access the fields in the certificate, using Request.ClientCertificate, to check the user's name.
We have also been requested, however, to sign the data sent by the user (a few simple fields and a binary file) so that we can prove, without doubt, which user entered each record in our database.
Our first thought was creating a small text signature including the fields (and, if possible, the md5 of the file) and encrypt it with the private key of the certificate, but...
As far as I know we can't access the private key of the certificate to sign the data, and I don't know if there is any way to sign the fields in the browser, or we have no other option than using a Java applet. And if it's the latter, how we would do it (Is there any open source applet we can use? Would it be better if we create one ourselves?)
Of course, it would be better if there was any way to "sign" the fields received in the server, using the data that we can access from the user's certificate. But if not, any info on the best way to solve the problem would be appreciated.
Hi,
I get the following error when I try to validate a contact page on my site:
document type does not allow element "script" here
The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).
One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error).
I am using Joomla 1.5.7, and the doctype is
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Any idea how to fix this?
Hi, I can connect to the access database and run functions etc from c#, I can even get a hold of the button I need to click, but I can't make it think it's been clicked.
nonManagedDb.DoCmd.OpenForm("frmMaintenance", Access.AcFormView.acNormal, MissingVal, Access.AcFormOpenDataMode.acFormReadOnly, Access.AcWindowMode.acWindowNormal, MissingVal);
var RunRep = (CommandButton)nonManagedDb.Forms["frmMaintenance"].Controls["btnDailySheetsReport"];
That's as afar as I've gotten with this, I've tried reflection to grab it's event and invoke it but it's classed as a COM object only so that's out.
My send mail task works fine for email ids like [email protected] but it throws error for email ids like [email protected].
is there any way i can make it work for such ids also?
Thanks.
A co-worker of mine had downloaded a vb example project a while back to see how to make a call or two, he discovered it today again, and noticed that while sitting in the IDE the time/date is updating automatically when the entire project is not even running.
How does this work, we looked around for code but can't find anything giving it away.
Any ideas?
I have a SQL 2008 table with a field called RecDate of type DateTimeOffset.
For a given record the value is '2010-04-01 17:19:23.62 -05:00'
In C# I create a DataTable and fill it with the results of "SELECT RecDate FROM MyTable".
I need to get the milliseconds, but if I do the following the milliseconds are always 0:
DateTimeOffset dto = DateTimeOffset.Parse(dt.Rows[0][0].ToString());
What is the proper way to get the value in the RecDate column into the dto variable?
Thanks!

Hey there, I'm trying to implement a way to slide&fade controls around (more than one at the same time possibly) elegantly. So in other words, say i had a picture in the top left corner, and a texbox in the bottom right corner, i'd like to be able to have them slide. not just snap. slide, to the opposite corners and replace eachothers position. Ive been working for awhile but have not come up with anything efficient, even just some of the basic math calculations would be a great start.
My User entity class have several member variables (e.g. String firstName) which are persisted and some transient variables (e.g. transient boolean selected) which are not. I have used the transient variable to capture a checkbox selection, but invariably the value never gets set and procesed properly until I set another bean value along with it.
i.e. If User has firstName (mapped to a text field) and selected (mapped to a checkbox)
If I just selected the value doesn't seem to be set on an update
If I had selected the checkbox and the firstName field, the "selected" value is captured properly
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
Hi
I have a submit button and am styling it using the following css:
.subm
{
background-color:Transparent;
background-image:url(Images/Button_Send.png);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
width:82px;
height:30px;
display:block;
border:none;
outline:none;
overflow:visible;}
.subm:hover
{
background-color:Transparent;
background-image:url(Images/Button_Send_Over.png);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
width:82px;
height:30px;
display:block;
border:none;
outline:none;
overflow:visible;
}
Here is the html:
<input type="submit" class="subm" value="" />
Nothing surprising. However, what annoys me is that when the submit button is clicked in IE it moves the image up a couple of pixels cutting them off which makes it look, hmm, good word, 'naff.' How can I compensate or stop this?
I have tried expanding the image and leaving a couple of blank pixels at the top but it still does the same thing!
Thanks R.
I'm using Zend_Navigation to create my nav. I want the URL to be domain.com/me and not domain.com/index/me. What is wrong with my config XML:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<config>
<nav>
<home>
<label>Home</label>
<controller>index</controller>
<action>index</action>
<pages>
<me>
<label>Me</label>
<module>default</module>
<controller>index</controller>
<action>me</action>
<resource>user</resource>
<privilege>logout</privilege>
</me>
</pages>
</home>
</nav>
</config>
I need to develop a simple form (intended only for printing) to be filled in by arbitrary end users (i.e. no specialized software). Ideally, I'd like the end-user to be able to save their inputs to the form and update it periodically. It seems that (at least without LiveCycle Enterprise Suite) Adobe Reader won't save data input in a PDF form. Aside from just distributing the form as a Word document, does anyone have any suggestions?
Background:
I do some work for a volunteer ambulance corps. They have a lot of elderly patients who don't know (or can't remember) their medical history. They want to develop a common form with personal information (name, address, DOB, medications list, etc.) for elderly residents to hang on their refrigerators (apparently a common solution to this problem). As some of them (or their children/grandchildren) are computer literate, it would make most sense to provide a download-able blank form that can be filled in, saved, updated, and re-printed as needed. Due to worries about privacy, HIPAA, etc. anything with server-side generation is out, it needs to be 100% client-side, and in a format that the majority of non-technical computer users can access without additional software.
Thanks for any tips... at this point, I'm leaning towards just using a .doc form.
Hi, I want to create an html page inside a asp.net page using c# and then request that html page. The flow is, I'll be creating a request that will give me a response with some values. Those values will be stored in hidden fields in the html page I'm creating on the fly and then requesting. I figure it would be something like below but I'm not sure if it would work, I've also received some "Thread Aborting" errors. So, does anyone know the proper way to do this or at least direct me to a nice article or something?
StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder();
builder.Append("<html><head></head>");
builder.Append("<body onload=\"document.aButton.submit();\">");
builder.Append("<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"something\" value=\"" + aValue + "\">");
HttpContext.Current...Response.Write(builder.ToString());
... end response
I am using the location module and views module for a postcode search, which works fine in a page display using views.
However I want the user to be able to enter their postcode into a block on the homepage and clicking submit my module sends them to the page created in views and the postcode is set as a session S_SESSION['postcode'] before sending to this page, next I want the location page to load but using the session to display the locations automatically.
Any ideas I am using hook_form_submit() and inside that declaring the $form_state as a session and then using $form_state['redirect'] to sent to the views page path.
Hi
What is the difference between a abandon Session and a cookie timeout, what if the session is abandon and the cookie is still alive, is that can lead to a problem?
<sessionState timeout="1" />
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="login.aspx" timeout="1" />
</authentication>
Thanks
Hi, We have a similar problem. We have a web application running under default appdomain. It was working fine until a week before...Suddenly it has encountered a problem. Below message is taken from event logs.
Event code: 4005 Event message: Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired.
Application uses FormsAuthentication and gets the roles from aspnetdb.. After the error, when user logins to the page, it does not redirects to the default.aspx. Again login.aspx comes up. On the other hand application works fine on development server(localhost), but not on www(IIS 6.0).
Does any one has an idea?
Thanks,
Ilknur
Hi,
I wrote a AS3 script, i have 2 fields to validate, i.e email and name.
For email i use:
function isValidEmail(Email:String):Boolean {
var emailExpression:RegExp = /^[a-z][\w.-]+@\w[\w.-]+.[\w.-]*[a-z][a-z]$/i;
return emailExpression.test(Email);
}
How about name field? Can you show me some sample code?
EDIT:
Invalid are:
blank
between 4 - 20 characters
Alphanumeric only(special characters not allowed)
Must start with alphabet
I downloaded these zip files from the link http://netbeans.org/downloads/zip.html with the hope that this way I will have a fine grained control over the installation process.
But I stand clueles. I can't tell how to install Netbeans from these, there is no installation guide for this.
Any ideas how to install Netbeans this way.
I have a model like this:
class MyModel(models.Model):
REGULAR = 1
PREMIUM = 2
STATUS_CHOICES = ((REGULAR, "regular"), (PREMIUM, "premium"))
name = models.CharField(max_length=30)
status = models.IntegerField(choices = STATUS_CHOICES, default = REGULAR)
class MyForm(forms.ModelForm):
class Meta:
model = models.MyModel
In a view I initialize one field and try to make it non-editable:
myform = MyForm(initial = {'status': requested_status})
myform.fields['status'].editable = False
But the user can still change that field.
What's the real way to accomplish what I'm after?
In order to transfer text from one textbox to another, I have created a submit button. However it would be preferable to use the functionality of the 'enter' key.
I am not sure but i think the ascii code is 13.Anyway how do I go about this task at hand?
