• Image gets slightly erased on SWT/Windows

  I have an Eclipse plugin which includes a view. The view has several icons in the toolbar. I'm experiencing a very strange problem: on Windows, in some occasions (after prolonged use), one of the icons gets slightly erased. This does not happen on other platforms. This looks like a memory leak or some other resource misuse, but I just can't figure out where. The rest of the icons, which are initialized and used in the exact same manner are not affected. I tried working with Sleak, but I really don't see anything out of the ordinary. Any help would be appreciated.

• Images with razor asp.net mvc inside JS

  I need to dynamically insert an image in my JS code. In my Razor template I have: @section Includes { <script type="text/javascript"> var imgPath = "@Url.Content("~/Content/img/")"; alert(imgPath); </script> } Then in my JS I have: insertImg = ""; if (response[i].someFlag == 'Y') { insertImg = "<img src=\"" + imgPath + "/imgToInsert.gif\" width=\"6px\" height=\"10px\" />"; } But it doesn't work - it will not find the image. The image is stored in /Content/img folder... What am I doing wrong?

• OpenCL support on Leopard

  I want to use OpenCL in my software but I am running Leopard. I will probably update to Snow Leopard later. In the mean time I would like to get started with OpenCL in Leopard. Setting up on 10.5 is confusing: most SDKs and articles assume that you must be using Snow Leopard. Searching for "Using OpenCL on Leopard" is completely useless, as you would expect. I downloaded the cuda toolkit, devdriver and gpucomputing SDK from nvidia but the examples won't compile because OpenCL/opencl.h is not found. The OpenCL release notes don't mention MacOSX so again I think this is assuming that all Mac users are running Snow Leopard. Where can I find OpenCL includes and libraries for Mac OSX 10.5 ? Or, is this just a waste of time and I should go and get Snow Leopard ASAP ? After upgrading to Snow Leopard I would like my software to support Leopard. Is this possible ?

  I have a note class that belongs to a user (ie a user can create many notes). clip from my notes controller class NotesController < ApplicationController before_filter :authenticate_user! respond_to :html, :xml, :json # GET /notes # GET /notes.xml def index @notes = Note.includes(:user).order("created_at DESC") respond_with @notes end When I ask for the index in json results for example /notes.json, it returns the notes but only returns user_id for the user object. I would like it to also include user.username (and would be curious how to have the whole user object embedded). Bonus question: I could not find a way to make the column show as author_id and have it relate back to user. If this is easy to do, how do you do it?

  Hi In my iphone app, I want to provide some sort of app termination handler that will do some final work (delete some sensitive data) before the application terminates. I want to handle as much of the termination situations as possible: 1) User terminates the app 2) The device runs out of battery 3) The system terminates the app due to some reason (e.g. out of memory or app freeze) 4) Application crashes (EXC_BAD_ACCESS or SIGSEGV) Any other exceptional situation ? What is the best way to achieve this (e.g. is applicationWillTerminate method called in situation 2) ? Is it possible to do the cleanup in a signal handler (includes iPhone Security framework calls) ? regards

  I have a bookmarklet, clicking the bookmarklet includes a PHP script (evaluated as a JavaScript file) to the page few table values and select values passed as GET parameters. The PHP script writes the page data to the MySQL database, and outputs a success message that is treated as JavaScript code and executed by the browser. Is there any possibility to do this using greasemonkey and call this function when a existing button is clicked on the web page.   I'd like to create HTNML documentation for a Java class library that includes programming guide information - beyond just a class reference code examples in the reference doc collapsible regions I want it to look well-styled. Something like this: I think that Javadoc exposes a doclet API that allows other parties to provide doc generation integrated in Javadoc. • Always require a plugin to be loaded

  I am writing an application with RequireJS and Knockout JS. The application includes an extension to knockout that adds ko.protectedObservable to the main knockout object. I would like this to always be available on the require'd knockout object, and not only when I specify it in the dependencies. I could concat the files together, but that seems that it should be unnecessary. Additionally, I can put knockout-protectedObservable as a dependency for knockout in the requirejs shim configuration, but that just leads to a circular dependency and it all fails to load. • Reordering Lists like playlists in the media player

  Hi, I have a list of items that are displayed using a ListView from a SQLCursor. The SQL table includes(as well as other things) a _id field and an order field. I use the order field to sort the list before it gets to the ListView. What I need is a widget like the MediaPlayer has in its playlist view. It allows you to click the icon and drag the item in the playlist around and put it into a new order. With that ability I can then retrieve the new order and update the SQL table with the new order. However, I am not having any luck finding any clues to help me add that functionality into my program. The question is whether I can use existing functions to help me, or do I need to manually program motion events and such until I get nearly the same functionality.

• Rails + simple role system through associative table

  So I have the Ninja model which has many Hovercrafts through ninja_hovercrafts (which stores the ninja_id and the hovercraft_id). It is of my understanding that this kind of arrangement should be set in a way that the associative table stores only enough information to bind two different classes. But I'd like to use the associative table to work as a very streamlined authorization hub on my application. So i'd also like this table to inform my system if this binding makes the ninja the pilot or co-pilot of a given hovercraft, through a "role" field in the table. My questions are: Is this ugly? Is this normal? Are there methods built into rails that would help me to automagically create Ninjas and Hovercrafts associations WITH the role? For exemple, could I have a nested form to create both ninjas and hcs in a way that the role field in ninjas_hovercrafts would be also filled? If managing my application roles this way isn't a good idea, whats the non-resource heavy alternative (my app is being designed trying to avoid scalability problems such as excessive joins, includes, etc) thank you

• [java] Threading socket handler for two sided communication in tcp port

  I want to make a chat which will be programed in java. one computer will host the server and the other one will initiate the socket [tcp port]. now from what I read there should be a loop that will constantly read the socket which means it will make the code stuck. I have a button that is 'actionperformed' on mouse release, I want to know if it will work along with the loops that constantly reads the socket so that it will also send the infromation I wrote. If I must thread it, I want to know if the run() method must be void because if I thread it it will mean creating a new class, and the whole GUI is one big class which includes a text area, and it's private. also how can I extract the information from the socket directly to the text area? lets say the textarea variable is called "chatOutput". thx :)

• How do I ensure GUI responsiveness when using OpenCL on the display GPU?

  In my relatively short time learning OpenCL I frequently see my application cause the operating system UI to become significantly less responsive (several seconds for a window to respond to a drag for example). I have encountered this problem on Windows Vista and Mac OS X both with NVidia GPUs. What can I do when using OpenCL on the same GPU as the display to ensure that my application does not significantly degrade the UI responsiveness like this? Also, can this be done without taking needless performance losses within my application? (Ie, if the user is not doing some UI intensive task then I would not expect my application to run any slower than it does now.) I understand that any answers will be very platform specific (where platform includes OS/GPU/driver combo).

• Use a cat + grep as an included source in bash

  I'm on a shared webhost where I don't have permission to edit the global bash configuration file at /ect/bashrc. Unfortunately there is one line in the global file, mesg y, which puts the terminal in tty mode and makes scp and similar commands unavailable. My local ~./bashrc includes the global file as a source, like so: # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then . /etc/bashrc fi My current workaround uses cat and grep to output the global file, sans offending line, into a local file and use that as a source. # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then cat /etc/bashrc | grep -v mesg > ~/.bash_global . ~/.bash_global fi Is there a way to do include a grokked file like this without the intermediate step of creating an actual file? • MySQL Import Database Error because of Extended Inserts

  Hello all, I'm importing a 400MB(uncompressed) MySQL database. I'm using BIGDUMP, and I am getting this error: Stopped at the line 387. At this place the current query includes more than 300 dump lines. That can happen if your dump file was created by some tool which doesn't place a semicolon followed by a linebreak at the end of each query, or if your dump contains extended inserts. Please read the BigDump FAQs for more infos. I believe the file does contain Extended Inserts, however I have no way to regenerate the database as it has been deleted from the old server. How can I import this database or convert it to be imported? Thanks for any help. Best Nick EDIT: It appears the only viable answer is to separate the extended inserts, but I still need help figuring out how to split the file as the answer below suggests. Please help. Thank you.

  I have DHTML content inside a fieldset. This includes plain html, nested objects (even other fieldsets), and value change of input, select, and textarea objects. I'd like to change the border of the fieldset if the contents have been changed. Questions: How can I do the same for html changes? Can all of this change-tracking be done by comparing current html() to stored one? If yes for (2), will this handle cases of "undo"? • SSRS 2005 Keep textbox and textfield together when page break occurs

  Problem I don't have a details row or anything. I have simply a body and I dragged on textboxes for labeling textfields from my dataset. The problem is when one of the fields has too much data for the current page, it "page-breaks" at the start of the field leaving the textbox (label for the field) behind on the previous page. What I've tried Put the data field and the textbox label a) inside a rectangle - didn't work b) inside a list and the list inside a rectangle - didn't work c) inside a list with keep together property set to TRUE or FALSE - didn't work Question How would I group the textbox and the textfield so that regardless of where the pagebreak happens it includes its label?

• Passing JS variable from child Iframe to parent JSP on cross sub domain

  I am stuck at 1 location and need some help. I created two subdomains on apache tomcat server like domain1.localhost.com and domain2.localhost.com in server.xml. On domain1 I have a JSP that includes iFrame (hosted on domain2). How can we pass the JS variable from child Iframe to parent JSP and store it in local variable of JSP hosted on domain1.localhost.com? I tried defining document.domain = "localhost" on both JSP but didn't work. Even parent DOM window is also not available in child iFrame (on sub-domain) because of obvious cross domain policies. Any help would be highly appreciated.

  Starting with a string of an unspecified length, I need to make it exactly 43 characters long (front-padded with zeroes). It is going to contain IP addresses and port numbers. • How do we name test methods where we are checking for more than one condition?

  I follow the technique specified in Roy Osherove's The Art Of Unit Testing book while naming test methods - MethodName_Scenario_Expectation. It suits perfectly well for my 'unit' tests. But,for tests that I write in 'controller' or 'coordinator' class, there isn't necessarily a method which I want to test. For these tests, I generate multiple conditions which make up one scenario and then I verify the expectation. For example, I may set some properties on different instances, generate an event and then verify that my expectation from controller/coordinator is being met. Now, my controller handles events using a private event handler. Here my scenario is that, I set some properties, say 3 condition1,condition2 and condition3 Also, my scenario includes an event is raised I don't have a method name as my event handler is private. How do I name such a test method?

• Ajax twice + facbook login/logout

  Hi, I have a very specific problem. The site I'm developing loads the FB connect button by ajax (it loads the box that includes FBC button). And when user logs in it loads instead of it the box with FB logout link. The problem is that FB requires to call FB.init() at the end of the body (when all the FB stuff is already on the page) and you can't do it twice as the second time is ignored. So what happens is - I do FB.init() inside the login box and FBC button works perfectly, but the logout link doesn't as FB.init() doesn't work there. The only solution I came up with is to place the login and logout buttons outside of ajax boxes and show them in the right places after ajax boxes are loaded. I'm pretty much sure this will work but I don't like the solution (which looks more like hack).
