  • Tomcat+BlazeDS+AMF - first response is VERY slow, config issue?

    Hi, My web server container is Tomcat 6.0.14 JVM 1.6.0_17-b04 BlazeDS 3.2.0.3978 Im sending request from the same local machine via AMF to BlazeDS server and only first request takes about 10secend to proceed. Each next request is preceeding correctly (very fast, less than 0.5s). Anyone know what's the reason of soo slow responsing? I'm a developer, not administrator so please be patient :)

  • Java multiple class compositing and boiler plate reduction

    We all know why Java does/should not have multiple inheritance. So this is not questioning about what has already been debated till-cows-come-home. This discusses what we would do when we wish to create a class that has the characteristics of two or more other classes. Probably, most of us would do this to "inherit" from three classes. For simplicity, I left out the constructor.: class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; } So that, Car class directly inherits methods and objects of Vehicle class, but would have to refer to transport and machine explicitly to refer to objects instantiated in Transport and Machine. Car car = new Car(); car.drive(); // from Vehicle car.transport.isAmphibious(); // from Transport car.machine.getCO2Footprint(); // from Machine I thought this was a good idea until when I encounter frameworks that require setter and getter methods. For example, the XML <Car amphibious='false' footPrint='1000' model='Fordstatic999'/> would look for the methods setAmphibious(..), setFootPrint(..) and setModel(..). Therefore, I have to project the methods from Transport and Machine classes class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; public void setAmphibious(boolean b){ this.transport.setAmphibious(b); } public void setFootPrint(String fp){ this.machine.setFootPrint(fp); } } This is OK, if there were just a few characteristics. Right now, I am trying to adapt all of SmartGWT into GWT UIBinder, especially those classes that are not a GWT widget. There are lots of characteristics to project. Wouldn't it be nice if there exists some form of annotation framework that is like this: class Car extends Vehicle @projects {Transport @projects{Machine @projects Guzzler}} { /* No need to explicitly instantiate Transport, Machine or Guzzler */ .... } Where, in case of common names of characteristics exist, the characteristics of Machine would take precedence Guzzler's, and Transport's would have precedence over Machine's, and Vehicle's would have precedence over Transport's. The annotation framework would then instantiate Transport, Machine and Guzzler as hidden members of Car and expand to break-out the protected/public characteristics, in the precedence dictated by the @project annotation sequence, into actual source code or into byte-code. Preferably into byte-code. So that the setFootPrint method is found in both Machine and Guzzler, only that of Machine's would be projected. Questions: Don't you think this is a good idea to have such a framework? Does such a framework already exist? Tell me where/what. Is there an eclipse plugin that does it? Is there a proposal or plan anywhere that you know about such an annotation framework? It would be wonderful too, if the annotation/plugin framework lets me specify that boolean, int, or whatever else needs to be converted from String and does the conversion/parsing for me too.   • Forbidden Patterns Check-In Policy in TFS 2010

    I've been trying to use the Forbidden Patterns part of the TFS 2010 Power Tools and I'm just not understanding something - I simply cannot get anything to change as I try to use this! I'm using the version that was released recently (I believe April 23, 2010), so it's not an old version. First off, yes, I know it's regex based, so let's clear that doubt... I have tried to block the following scenarios: 1) I have modified all of my T4 EF templates to generate files named EntityName.gen.cs. I then attempted to prevent TFS from wanting to check those files in. I used the regular expression \.gen\.cs\z and it didn't change a single thing! I even tried it without the \z and nadda! 2) I don't want app.config and web.config files to be checked-in by default because we have these things stored into app.config.base and web.config.base files that our build scripts use to generate our per-environment app.config and web.config files. As such, I tried the following regexes and again, nothing worked! web\.config\z, app\.config\z, web\.release\.config\z and web\.debug\.config\z. What is it that I am screwing up with this?

    We use nettiers as a our data layer, and we recently have started looking at using NServiceBus, but we have hit a wall.   • Why does the IIS_IUSRS user need read permission on the ApplicationHost.config file in my Exchange 2010 OWA environment?

    Previously I was experiencing issues where users in my Exchange 2010 environment would periodically receive an error stating: The custom error module does not recognize this error. However, following the advice of a thread I read somewhere, I granted the computername\IIS_IUSRS user Read permissions on the ApplicationHost.config file in the OWA environment. After making this change, the problem has not yet resurfaced. However, I'm not satisfied to simply settle for the fix, I'd like to understand why it worked. So can somebody please tell me why does this user need read permissions on this file and why would that have resolved the issue?

    I created a App.config file in my WPF application: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <appsettings> <add key="xmlDataDirectory" value="c:\testdata"/> </appsettings> </configuration> Then I try to read the value out with this: string xmlDataDirectory = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings.Get("xmlDataDirectory"); But it says this is obsolete and that I should use ConfigurationManager which I can't find, even searching in the class view. Does anyone know how to use config files like this in WPF?

It means snort start from last few hours of tcpdump file and generate alerts about this section of file and all of packets in first hours are ignored. Another problem in generatin alert is in time stamp of generated alerts. This means when I run snort on a specific day of dataset, snort insert incorrect time stamp for that alert.     I am going to build a full height server machine to be used for SQL Server 2008 64bit. I have $400 to spend for a CPU. Which CPU should I get among i5, i7, Xeon and Phenom in terms of performance. There are so many options and I am out of touch with the latest stuff. All I know I want something fast and works with DDR3 fast memory and works with some kind of fast system bus. I don't care about overclocking, 3D & gfx benchmarks. The machine is not used for games and gfx apps. Any recommendations?

I've set config.assets.initialize_on_precompile = false in config/application.rb.   • Crypto-Analysis of keylogger logs and config file. Possible?

    Is there anyway Encryption on an unidentified file can be broken(file in question: config file and log files from ardamax keylogger). These files date back all the way to 2008. I searched everywhere, nothing on slashdot, nothing on google. Ardamax Keyviewer? Should I just write to Ardamax? I am at a loss of what to do. I feel comprimised. Anyone managed to decrpyt files with Crypto-analysis? More Information-- There are log files in the folder and a configuration file, "akv.cfg". Is it possible to decrypt the files and maybe getting the attackers email address used to receive the keylogger logs? I've Checked ardamax.com. They have an built-in log viewer. But its unavailable for download. If superuser isn't the proper place to ask, know where I might get help?

  • Visual Studio 2008 Add-in: App.config and web services.

    I have created a visual studio add-in for VS2008. The add-in uses as web service to access data required by the developer. However, currently the only way to get the service to work is to add the service bindings to the machine.config of the pc. I know this is a bad idea and its causing errors left and right in my other applications. I have tried using app.config along side my add-in but the add-in doesn't seem to use it at all. My service call is being made from a dll referenced by the add-in would that make a difference?

    I got this error after installing Meld on a new Karmic installation: ~$ meld No module named pygtk Meld requires pygtk 2.8.0 or higher. I installed the latest version of python-gtk with aptitude but I'm not sure what version is actually installed. My python version is 2.6. This is weird because I have another machine that runs Karmic and Meld without a problem. The only difference between the two machines is the one with the error is a 64-bit machine running a 32-bit installation of Karmic. Could that be the problem?

  • How can I tell which config file Apache is using?

    I'm trying to set up virtual hosts on Mac OS X. I've been modifying httpd.conf and restarting the server, but haven't had any luck in getting it to work. Furthermore, I notice that it's not serving files in the DocumentRoot mentioned in httpd.conf (Libraries/WebServer/Documents), but in a different directory (/usr/local/apache2/htdocs). I don't see this folder mentioned anywhere in httpd.conf. Furthermore, PHP works, but the "LoadModule php5_module" line is commented out. This makes me think it's using another .conf file. How can I figure out which config is actually being loaded? Update: I just deleted that httpd.conf and apache behaves the same after restart, so it definitely wasn't using it!

  • Cannot log on to a remote server using rdp from windows 7 machine when I am remotley connected to th

    Bear withe me, here is my set up. I use my 27" iMac 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo 4GB Ram to connect to my work desktop running Windows 7. From there I can administer other remote servers. Here is the problem. Using the Remote Desktop Client on my Mac I can connect to my work machine no problem. But when I then use the work machine to open a remote desktop session with another Windows server (usually SBS 2003 but applies to all) I get the log in prompt, I enter the user name password ensure i'm connecting to the domain, but it wont log me in. The error message is the same, as though I had typed the wrong password (i know this is not the case). Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance. Gary

    In our web.config I am using the following tag to determine the interface language of an ASP.NET website. <globalization enableClientBasedCulture="true" culture="auto:en-GB" uiCulture="auto:en"/> This works as expected: Client wo request a specific localisation get it, everybody else is happily looking at the en-GB settings. Due to company policy I need to change the date format to the ISO 8601 standard format (YYYY-MM-DD) for everybody. Is this possible at a central place in the web.config or do I need to change this manually in every instance? Addition: Would it be possible to do get this date format when restricting the interface to english? Thanks! =)

    I have two machines at home, both XP Pro SP3. I have no domain controller, so they're both just in WORKGROUP. How can I, using Windows Authentication, log into an instance of SQL Server running on the other machine? Whenever I try it, it seems to try to login as 'Guest', even though I have entered the machine name (OTHER-DESKTOP), and login (OTHER-DESKTOP\otheruser) in the User Accounts Control Panel box. It works fine if I use sql server name and password, so I know the server is running. Any clues?

  • destroy cfwindow in javascript 'is not a function'

    Hi All, Having an issue here that I have tried everything I can think of but cant get it to work. I have a page with a link that creates a cfwindow like so function create_window(ID){ var config = new Object(); config.modal=true; config.center=true; config.height=775; config.width=700; config.resizable=false; config.closable=false; config.draggable=false; config.refreshonshow=true; ColdFusion.Window.create('newWindow','Window Title', '/source/url'+ID, config) The window is created and the URL has the ID parsed to it that is used for displaying the correct item in the window. This all works fine. The problem is when I try and close the window and open a new window with a different item being displayed, the URL is not changed. I realise that this is because the window is being hidden, and not destroyed, and therefore it is the same window being opened. So I have created an onHide event handler to destroy the window like so. function showItemDetails(){ var ID=document.getElementById("sList").value create_window(ID); ColdFusion.Window.onHide('newWindow', refreshList); } function refreshList(){ ColdFusion.bindHandlerCache['sList'].call(); ColdFusion.Window.destroy('newWindow',true); } Now when I close the window Firebug is returning the error "ColdFusion.Window.destroy is not a function" (In IE the error is "Object doesn't support this property or method"). I have made sure we are running the latest version of ColdFusion 8.01 on the server (as I know that .destroy wasnt added until 8.01) and have applied the latest hotfixes to the server as well. Any ideas?

  • Howto return to virtual machine when remote desktop hangs?

    I'm using a vmware virtual machine running ubuntu linux and from there I connect to a Windows XP machine using rdesktop through a VPN tunnel. This configuration is given and cannot be changed. From time to time my internet connection does a reconnect. Then the running rdesktop (running in fullscreen mode) process freezes and isn't usable anymore. Now I want to return to the underlying linux and restart the rdesktop process. But I'm not able to get out of fullscreen rdesktop mode and so I cannot access the ubuntu desktop to kill any process. My solution is to reboot the vmware and start the rdesktop again. Is there a better way to get the configuration running again after a freeze? EDIT: I have no admin rights for the linux system. Everything must be done with user rights.

  • On a router, how do I block wan access for a particular machine without blocking its access to the local network?

    On my tp-link TL-WR1043ND router I want to prevent a particular machine from having access to the WAN while still allowing that machine to access other machines on the LAN. My assumption is that I need to do something in the "Access Control" section, however the problem is that it wants an ip range or domain name for the target of the rule. The router uses DHCP to get an address from the WAN, so I don't have any guarantee what the ip address of the wan will be. If the answer is that it's not possible with this router, could someone describe how to do it using OpenWRT instead?
