  • Remove the hash after Ajax loading (I'm ajaxing wordpress 8-) )

    - by Alberto
    Hi everybody, I followed this great tutorial to"ajax" my blog:http://www.deluxeblogtips.com/2010/05/how-to-ajaxify-wordpress-theme.html But it creates some problems and I think the problem is in the hash that ajax creates. So, after the content is loaded, how can I remove the hash from the url? I copy my code here: jQuery(document).ready(function($) { var $mainContent = $("#content"), siteUrl = "http://" + top.location.host.toString(), url = ''; $(document).delegate("a[href^='"+siteUrl+"']:not([href*=/wp-admin/]):not([href*=/wp-login.php]):not([href$=/feed/]):not([href*=/go.php]):not(.comment-reply-link)", "click", function() { location.hash = this.pathname; $('html, body').animate({scrollTop:0}, 'fast'); return false; }); $("#searchform").submit(function(e) { location.hash = '?s=' + $("#search").val(); e.preventDefault(); }); $(window).bind('hashchange', function(){ url = window.location.hash.substring(1); if (!url) { return; } url = url + " #inside"; $mainContent.html('<div id="loader">Caricamento in corso...</div>').load(url, function() { //$mainContent.animate({opacity: "1"}); scriptss(); }); }); $(window).trigger('hashchange'); }); Thank all very much!

  • Simple javascript/jquery append, remove question

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys, quick question. I have a div that on click will execute a jquery function onclick, and then replace the div with its opposite div which onclick will replace back to the first div just like the favorite function on this site. I am having a simple problem I hope someone can spot or explain to me it is not possible. The function works with the initial two divs that are served directly, but when I click on either of the original two divs, and the function executes and replaces the div with the corresponding div the replacement div does not execute the function. I have to refresh the page to get the original div, which is identical to execute the function. Is the div actually replaced on the page with append, or does it just visually show it? Any advice appreciated. original div <div class="unfavorite"><img id="unfavorite_img" src="images/favorite2.png" /></div> javascript div replacement $(".favorite").remove(); $(".favoriteholder").append('<div class="unfavorite"><img id="unfavorite_img" src="images/favorite2.png" /></div>');

  • How do you safely work around broken code? [closed]

    - by burnt1ce
    Once in a while, a co-worker will check-in bad code which blocks my application from initializing properly. To get around this problem quickly, I comment out the offending code. I then forget to uncomment the offending code at the time of my check-in, so I want to prevent this from happening again. Do you have any suggestions on how to: Disable bad code that stop you from working Prevent yourself from checking in unwanted changes? I'm currently using Visual Studio as my IDE and TFS as my source code repo.

  • Can I safely delete the Ubuntu 12.04 partition and use the unallocated space for my Elementary OS?

    - by d4ryl3
    I have this setup: I've decided to switch to Elementary OS Luna (fork of Ubuntu 12.04) as my main Linux distro. Now I need to delete my Ubuntu partition so I could add capacity to my eOS which only has 10Gb. Currently my eOS is in /dev/sda9, and Ubuntu in /dev/sda8/. I forgot where my bootloader is installed, so I ran bootinfoscript, which returned this: `============================= Boot Info Summary: =============================== = Grub2 (v1.99) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sda and looks at sector 1 of the same hard drive for core.img. core.img is at this location and looks in partition 94 for . sda1: __________________________________________ File system: ntfs Boot sector type: Windows Vista/7: NTFS Boot sector info: No errors found in the Boot Parameter Block. • How do I remove obsolete packages after upgrading to 14.04?

    - by Nikhil Mahajan
    While upgrading to 14.04, I got a prompt asking if I wanted to remove obsolete packages and that it would take hours to do so. So, I said "No" and decided to do it later. However, after the upgrade when I run sudo apt-get autoremove, it removes no packages at all. But when I run aptitude search '~o' I get a list of many obsolete packages. How do I remove all the obsolete packages in a proper manner?

  • Because of over incumbent patents, is it possible to safely develop any software without the risk of legal action?

    - by Chris Barry
    Take this System and method for restricting user access rights on the internet based on rating information stored in a relational database There are hundreds of thousands of them out there. So basically you can't program anything really without breaching one of thousands of software patents. If your program succeeds you will be sued by someone! Does this happen all the time and people get silenced? Do trendy startups get hit by things like this? Surely all major web properties would have been hit by the example above by AT&T?

  • Can JSON be made easily and safely editable by the non-technical Excel crowd?

    - by glitch
    I'm looking for a data storage format that's very intuitive and easy to edit. It should be ideally targeted towards the same crowd as Excel. At the same time I would like the data structure to be a tree. Ideally this would be JSON, since it offers both the tree aspect and allows for more interesting constructs like arrays. That and parsing libraries for JSON are ubiquitous, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. The problem is that, at least with a non-specialized text editor, JSON is a giant pain to edit for a non-technical user. I'm thinking along the lines of someone who might have used Excel in the past, but never a real text editor. Someone who might not be comfortable with the idea of preserving JSON syntax by hand. Are there data formats out there that would fit this profile? I'd very much prefer this to be a JSON actually, but then it would require a solid editing tool that would hide the underlying implementation from the user. Think Excel and how it abstracts CSV syntax from the user. The reason I'm looking for something like this is because the team has been working with pretty hierarchical data for a while now and we've hit the limits of how easy it is to represent in simple CSVs without having to create complex rules for how represent hierarchy semantics from each row. Any suggestions?

  • How to associate hardware volume control to USB speakers?

  • why does ubuntu 12.04 remove gparted during the installation?

    - by user09887
    04, and I expanded the progress bar when it was about 3/4 done - it was at the 'remove unnecessary parts from installation' stage. I was thinking that removing gparted was not a good idea, as it is useful for partitioning USB devices - not just the internal hds. Does anyone else think that Ubuntu shouldn't remove gparted? Thanks P.S Sorry if this is posted in the incorrect forum / place. This is my first post to Ubuntu forums. Thanks.

  • Procedurally generated 2d terrain for side scroller on Sega Genesis hardware?

    - by DJCouchyCouch
    I'm working on the Sega Genesis that has a 8mhz Motorola 68000 CPU. Any ideas on how to generate fast and decent 2d tile terrain for a side scroller in real time? The game would generate new columns or rows depending on the direction the player is scrolling in. The generation would have to be deterministic. The same seed value would generate the same terrain. I'm looking for algorithms that would satisfy the memory and CPU constraints of the hardware.

  • Wireless switch on Dell XT2 - strange behaviour of rfkill

    - by DyP
    I have an Dell Latitude XT2 using an Intel WLAN card (lspci lists it as "Intel Corporation Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300") running Lubuntu 12.04 with recent updates. The laptop has a hardware WLAN switch. I have problems activating the WLAN when booting with the hardware switch set to "off". The situation is a bit confusing, unfortunately. rfkill lists two WLAN devices (though lspci only shows the Intel one). This is the situation when booting with the hardware switch set to "Off": 0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes 1: dell-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes 2: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes From some tests, I conclude WLAN is only activated when both, the dell-wifi and phy0, are unblocked by soft- and hardware. But I can only unblock dell-wifi after the hardware switch is set to "on". Procedure right from boot with hardware switch set to "Off": Soft-unblocking phy0 works as expected. Could be done by start-up script. sudo rfkill unblock 0: nothing happens. Soft block of dell-wifi not removed. Set the hardware switch to "on": phy0 gets its hard block removed. Still no WLAN. sudo rfkill unblock 0: both the soft and hard lock of dell-wifi are removed. WLAN is now active and works. sudo rfkill block 0: only adds the soft block as expected. WLAN goes off again. So, in order to activate WLAN, I have to use the hardware switch and afterwards (manually) run a script - that's a bit inconvenient. Does someone know a better solution? Maybe a daemon could help that listens to rfkill events to unblock dell-wifi after I have set the hardware switch to "on"? (sounds like another workaround) When booting with the hardware switch set to "On", nothing is blocked neither hard nor soft.

  • Can I run `apt-get purge --auto-remove`?

    - by user981178
    Is apt-get purge --auto-remove packagename a valid command? Or, does it have to be apt-get remove --purge --auto-remove packagename? The Ubuntu manpage for apt-get (http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man8/apt-get.8.html) only mentions using the --auto-remove option "If the command is either install or remove...", so I was wondering if it could also be used with the purge command, since that is just a shortcut for the remove command with the --purge option. Thank you.

  • How much memory can i safely use on android?

    - by xastor
    To make my game more fluid, I try to prevent memory allocations during the game I am writing. To that end, I allocate a whopping 16MB of buffers on startup and then use those as I go along. When I check in Eclipse my game now uses 24MB in total, which does not change noticeably during the game. This all works fine on the phone I have now (android 2.3, motorola defy) but I wonder if I'm going to run into problems with this on other phones or tablets that run android 2.2 or higher (which is what I'm aiming for)?

    - by Pradyut Bhattacharya
    Hi I have a nested oredered list which i m animating using this code... var $li = $("ol#update li"); function animate_li(){ $li.filter(':first') .animate({ height: 'show', opacity: 'show' }, 500, function(){ animate_li(); }); $li = $li.not(':first'); } animate_li(); now i want not to show or animate the nested lists(ol s) or the li s in the ols take a look at the example here The structure of my ols are <ol> <li class="bar248"> <div class="nli"> <div class="pic"> <img src="dir/anonymous-thumb.png"alt="image" /> </div> <div align="left" class="text"> <span> <span class="delete_button"><a href="#" id="test" class="delete_update">R</a></span> test shouted <span class="timestamp"> 2010/02/24 18:34:26 </span> <br /> this </span> </div> <div class="clear"></div> </div> <div class="padd"> </div> <ol class="comment"> <li> <div>Testing </div> </li> <li> <div>Another Test </div> </li> </ol> </li> </ol> I m able to hide the nested ols using this code... $("ol#update li ol").hide(); But still time is being consumed in animating them although they are hidden I m not able to remove the nested li s using this code var $li = $("ol#update li").not("ol#update li ol"); $li = $li.not("ol#update li ol"); Take a look at this here Any help thanks < br Pradyut

  • How do I remove the namespaces in Zend_Soap?

    - by Marc
    Hi There I am trying to use the tranlsation webservice from MyMemory: http://mymemory.translated.net/doc/spec.php Unfortunately, Zend_Soap_Client does generate an XML reqest object that is not recognized by the service. I guess it is because of the ns1-Attribute (Namespace) within the tags. So does anyone know how to remove them? That's basically what I do: $client = new Zend_Soap_Client('http://mymemory.translated.net/otms/?wsdl', array( 'soap_version' => SOAP_1_1 )); Then I call the function: try { $client->otmsGet(array( 'key' => 'xxx', 'q' => array( 'source' => 'Computer Science', 'source_lang' => 'en-US', 'target_lang' => 'de-DE' ) )); } catch(Exception $e) { print $client->getLastRequest(); } The resulting XML looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns1="http://tempuri.org/"> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <ns1:otmsGet> <ns1:key>xxx</ns1:key> <ns1:q> <ns1:source>Computer Science</ns1:source> <ns1:source_lang>en-US</ns1:source_lang> <ns1:target_lang>de-DE</ns1:target_lang> </ns1:q> </ns1:otmsGet> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> And it should actually look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <otmsGet xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <key xmlns:SOAPSDK1="http://tempuri.org/">mmDemo123</key> <q xmlns:SOAPSDK2="http://tempuri.org/"> <source>control panel</source> <source_lang>en-US</source_lang> <target_lang>es-ES</target_lang> </q> </otmsGet> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> Thanks for your help!
