• IIS 6.0 - ASP Error 0126 Include file not found

  Hello, I have a Win Sever 2003 running IIS 6.0 which has only my main website on it and now I am trying to setup a test website which currently is an exact duplicate of the main site. When accessing my main site everything works fine, and has done for a long time. If I access the test site (through 'test.' subdomain) I get this error: Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126' Include file not found /html/shop/asp/admin/inc/incWeeklySpecialswide3.asp, line 71 The include file '/html/asp/quickfindwithSuburbs31.asp' was not found. The file actually exists, and the paths are correct. I have enabled Parent Paths, replaced the include file path to the full path (http://foo.com/html/asp -etc.), removing the ' / ' at the start of the path and changing the code from ' include ' to ' virtual '.   Hello, Usually I'm creating project work space on my localhost (win). As soon as my code is tested I'm committing it into repository. But some days ago I've faced a little difficulty. My customer want me to write code right on his server because he have some handmade binaries working only on his machine (solaris). I really don't know what to do. I've tried Eclipse plugin for connecting to remote servers, but I'm still unable to create remote project. Any ideas? PS: Sorry for my English :) Thank you.

• What is the difference between a 32-bit and 64-bit processor?

  I have been trying to read up on 32-bit and 64-bit processors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/32-bit_processing). My understanding is that a 32-bit processor (like x86) has registers 32-bits wide. I'm not sure what that means. So it has special "memory spaces" that can store integer values up to 2^32? I don't want to sound stupid, but I have no idea about processors. I'm assuming 64-bits is, in general, better than 32-bits. Although my computer now (one year old, Win 7, Intel Atom) has a 32-bit processor.

• Linux, how to capture screen, and simulate mouse movements.

  Hi All I need to capture screen (as print screen) in the way so I can access pixel color data, to do some image recognition, after that I will need to generate mouse events on the screen such as left click, drag and drop (moving mouse while button is pressed, and then release it). Once its done, image will be deleted. Note: I need to capture whole screen everything that user can see, and I need to simulate clicks outside window of my program (if it makes any difference) Spec: Linux ubuntu Language: C++ Performance is not very important,"print screen" function will be executed once every ~10 sec. Duration of the process can be up to 24 hours so method needs to be stable and memory leaks free (as usuall :) I was able to do in windows with win GDI and some windows events, but I'ev no idea how to do it in Linux. Now I have a problem in locking the screen customly, so I want to know how WaveSecure achieve its locking function, as the following picture show: http://goo.gl/XlPP When the mobile is locked, WaveSecure can require customer to input their own password. So I think WaveSecure must replace Android's original locking function. And I also google it, but I didn't find anything helpful. I only find two packages may be helpful. • Graceful DOS Command Error-Handling w/PHP popen()

  PHP 5.2.13 on Windows 2003 I am using the DOS Start /B command to launch a background application using the PHP popen() function: popen("start /B {$_SERVER['HOMEPATH']}/{$app}.exe > {$_SERVER['HOMEPATH']}/bg_output.log 2>&1 & echo $!", 'r'); The popen() function launches a cmd.exe process that runs the specified command; however, if the command fails (e.g. the {$app}.exe doesn't exist or is locked in the above example), the cmd.exe process never returns, and PHP hangs indefinitely as a result. Calling the failing DOS command directly using the Command Prompt results in an Error prompt that requires clicking the OK button. I assume this error confirmation requirement is what's preventing the cmd.exe process from returning to PHP both from the Command Prompt (using both CGI and CLI) and the web (using Apache 2.0 handler w/Apache 2.2). Is there a way to configure PHP, Apache, and/or Win 2003 to return the DOS error to the originating call rather than waiting for confirmation?

• PagedDataSource does not support serialization - how can I enforce this ?

  Sounds like I want to override a physics law, but at least it is the most reasonnable solution, cpu / HDD and Ram effective for my asp.net project. In fact, I got a pageddataSource and a customDataReader that supports paginated data. The truth is my data are in a viewstate variable, because it is re-used in an update panel. When I intend to use it into my pageddatasource, asp.net 3.5 kills me with a System.Web.UI.WebControls.PagedDataSource' in Assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is not marked as serializable. cool exception... So I'd rather not offend newton because I know he'll always win, but I would need some help to enforce this pagedDataSource law, that seems so unbelievable, except if someone has an explanation.

• Can Windows Mobile Synch Services use a business layer

  We're building a Win Mobile 6 warehouse app which needs to update our server based corporate DB. We've got a C# business layer that sits on our app server and we'd really like our warehouse app to go through this. We also like MS Synch Services. Is there a way to combine the two ie can we use sync services but get them to go through our business layer ? Has anyone done this and got an example I can follow ? • Tracking EXC_BAD_ACCESS on iPad

  I've been using this code to create my UIWindow UIMyWindow* win = [[UIMyWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; UIMyWindow isn't anything special it just has a pointer to a C++ class that does some wrapping of ObjectiveC. Recently my application start crashing after adding some line of code that doesn't have to do anything with the error. The line of code that I added is just allocating a C++ object but the program execution never reaches this line. Interesting enough my code works in Release. My only guess is that I made some memory corruption on a completely different place. My questions are: What type of memory corruption that can be? And is there some good practices to track them down?

The same WPF project, debug mode, two computers: A -- when exception occurrs the caret is placed at the point of exception B -- when the exception occurrs, correct exception is placed but always caret is placed at "win.ShowDialog()" in App.xaml.cs -- this is main entry for showing & running my application, in such case it is very tiresome to track down where the exception occurred What kind of settings control such behaviour? Of course I would like to switch B, so when exception hits I would be place at the point of exception, not at the main entry.

  In Microsoft Windows, there is a (highly useful) feature that automatically moves the cursor to the default button of a modal dialog box (activated in Win+R, "control mouse"). Now I have created a custom dialog box in Delphi (basically a TForm), see below. But, quite naturally, the cursor does not automatically move to the default button ("Yes" in this case), even though the feature is turned on in "control mouse". How to implement this feature using Windows API? I guess it would be sufficient to obtain the settings as a boolean (true if feature activated, false if not), and then simply move the cursor programmatically using SetCursorPos if true. But how to obtain this setting?

Below is the method call Directory.GetFiles(selectedFolder, "*.xml", SearchOption.AllDirectories); I want to notify this to users. Is there a way to show them that file loading is in progress? I want a simplest way. I suppose Splash screen is too costly for my app.

• Porting a GUI from a pc to a wince device - issue is with the size of the screen

  I have to port a GUI that is currently running on a pc, to a wince device. I have already compiled the code on a win CE platform, the problem is now with the size of the screen of the device which is smaller than some of the dialog boxes of the GUI. I could resize some them in resource view of visual studio 2005. I am unable to proceed further as a lot of screens have bitmaps mapped to them and i cannot just resize the dialog boxes without changing the corresponding bitmaps. What is the best way to proceed- my last resort would be to disable the bitmaps and redraw them at a later stage. is there some method of automatically mapping the size of the screen to all the dialog boxes so that they would automatically resize (alongwith the assocaiated buttons etc)

• Robocopy for Windows 2003 doesn't support /DST option

  Does anyone know if it is possible to download the latest robocopy for Windows 2003. The latest version provides the /DST option which ignores time stamps changed due to BST (British Summer Time). Every time we do a build and sync our servers when we go +1/-1 hour it takes hours instead of minutes because it sees everything as changed. I noticed it is included automatically with Vista/Win7 but the Resource toolkit that I downloaded doesn't include a new version of robocopy for Win Server 2003. If there is a place to download it from & will it also work on Windows Server 2003? Thanks.

• Dot Game and Dynamic Programming

  I'm trying to solve a variant of the dot game with dynamic programming. The regular dot game is played with a line of dots. Each player takes either one or two dots at their respective end of the line and the person who is left with no dots to take wins. In this version of the game, each dot has a different value. Each player takes alternate turns and takes either dot at either end of the line. I want to come up with a way to use dynamic programming to find the max amount that the first player is guaranteed to win. I'm having problems grasping my head around this and trying to write a recurrence for the solution. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

• Apache 2.2 / Win7 - slow or not responsive

  My configuration - Windows 7 x64, Php 5.3, Apache 2.2.15, latest Mysql. When loading pages from localhost, the response time shown by firebug is more 530ms for the main 'index.php' file, sometimes the connection is reset. It's painfully slow. I googled the problem and found a workaround - switch off and on again a win service called BFE - base filtering engine. Then everything works like a lightning but xdebug doesn't work in netbeans. Why is this response time so long? Can you think of any other solution than BFE toggling? joey33

  We have setup a .net application developed with .net framework 4.0 using MVC framework and WCF service on a Windows 2003, 32-bit server containing IIS 6 successfully. However, when the same application is set up on a Win 2008 R2, 64-bit server, we get the following error when the application is accessing the WCF service: No component for supporting the service was found Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: Castle.MicroKernel.ComponentNotFoundException: No component for supporting the service was found We have set the flag for Enable 32-bit apps in "Application Pool" to true on the 64-bit server.

• Linux friendly (.NET/Mono) browser object?

  Hi folks, A friend of mine (familiar with C# and .NET on Windows) has asked how to port some functionality to a Linux host. This functionality is based on a JSP web page that fetches some data from the host server and displays it in a banner on a page. His Win/C#/.NET code simply creates a browser object which loads the page and he then inspects the resulting object to extract the data. I'm wondering what alternatives exist to duplicate this function on Ubuntu Linux. I'm not certain that the necessary libraries exist on this installation. I can assume that things like Perl and Python are ubiquitous, but I am not familiar with any libraries that include a browser object capable of executing javascript and exposing the results to another program. Any suggestions that lead in this direction are welcome. Thanks!

• Migrating from Physical SQL (SQL2000) To VMWare machine (SQL2008) - Transferring Large DB

  We're in the middle of migrating from a windows & SQL 2000 box to a Virtualised Win & SQL 2k8 box The VMWare box is on a different site, with better hardware, connectivity etc... The old(current) physical machine is still in constant use - I've taken a backup of the DB on this machine, which is 21GB Transfering this to our virtual machine took around 7+ hours - which isn't ideal when we do the "actual" switchover. My question is - How should I handle the migration better? Could i set up our current machine to do log shipping to the VM machine to keep up to date? then, schedule down time out of hours to do the switch over? Is there a better way?

  okay i have found the way to run a video in a image.... the procedure as given below 1 - Run a video in Windows Media Player 2 - While the video running, Press Print Screen 3 - Paste it in MS Paint 4 - Save the image in JPEG or BMP format 5 - Run any video in Windows Media Player again 6 - Now open that image, in Windows Page\Fax Viewer or ACDsee etc. 7 - at this time the win. media player is playing and the image is open 8- Switch to image (focus on image) and you will see the currently running video in the image can anybody with extensive knowledge of windows tell me why does this happen. • Can not get msconfig .exe to run in the system32 folder shellexecute Delphi

  Im on Win 7 64b. Im trying to run msconfig from my delphi app. The msconfig.exe file is in the system32 folder . I copied the msconfig.exe to the c:\ and it works great. • Getting the rows cell to line up with parameters in a sp c# winform

  I am using a datagridview on a win app designed in c#2010 express. In the _row leave event of my datagrid I would like to use the TableAdapter.usp_insert() that I created. But how does one match up the data in the cells of the datagridview row to the parameters in the stored procedure. Thanks in advance I appreciate the education. This is what if found so far! Int i; i = datagridview1.SelectedCells[0].RowIndex; ... .... Eventually string id = dataGridView1.Rows[i].cell[0].Value.ToString(); @para1 = id; Etc.. What do you think?

• Is it safe to catch EXCEPTION_GUARD_PAGE

  Environment is VC++ 9 on various Win platforms (XP and later) I'm writing an unhandled exception handler. I have a vague recollection from my kernel days that it was bad to catch an EXCEPTION_GUARD_PAGE, as this was generated to tell the OS to enlarge the stack. My question is twofold: Can such an exception occur in user space? If so, is it safe to catch it? I'm not especially interested in doing anything with it. I just want to know if I need to put special code in to not catch it (as I'm catching everything at the moment).

• Visual Studio WCF Application now asking to manually attach to process

  I have a console app that is calling a WCF app hosted in IIS. Up until now everything has been fine and I am able to debug the app - step through it without any problems... Until I added my dev pc to a domain.... now every time I get step into the code hosted in IIS, a popup comes up asking if I would like to attach to this process... I can then continue debugging... again not a huge train smash - however... now it randomly just jumps to the end of the process (almost like some kind of timeout) and I am not able to reliably step and debug the IIS hosted code.... Any ideas? All the projects are in the same solution, and all running on the local dev pc... Using Visual Studio 2008, dev PC is Win 7
