  • Permissions denied on apache rewrite module virtual host configuration

    All of a sudden I keep getting "Permissions denied" on apache 2 virtualhost once we moved it to its own conf file. I have tried all the suggestions I have found here but none work. Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?     I'm deploying my first django app. I'm familiar with nginx and fastcgi from deploying php-fpm. I can't get python to recognize the urls. I'm also at a loss on how to debug this further. I'd welcome solutions to this problem and tips on debugging fastcgi problems.   • Server HTTP Load times slow?

    Hello, My server @ codemeh.com (HTTP Server) seems to be randomly loading slowly, I cannot tell if it just my forums (http://www.codemeh.com/forums/) that are loading slowly or if the WHOLE site is just loading slowly since my forums are the largest thing on the site right now. load average: 0.02, 0.17, 0.20 That is super low to my knowledge. I have tried Google Page Analytic plug-in for FireFox to solve the problem but nothing comes up that is VERY bad. If someone could investigate this for me since I am very new at apache and server configurations. Thanks!     i could use a little help with rewrite and nginx... Basically the structure of my App looks like this Headdirectory -- -APPBase -SomeMoreStuff -WWWDirectory .htaccess So i need to redirect into the WWWDirectory when i open the Headdirectory. In Apache its done with a htaccess and the following Content : RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^(.*) www/$1 I already tried in Nginx : location /Headdirectory { rewrite ^/(.*) /www/$1; } And i tried to create an Alias but that didnt work...     I'm deploying my first django app. I'm familiar with nginx and fastcgi from deploying php-fpm. I can't get python to recognize the urls. I'm also at a loss on how to debug this further. I'd welcome solutions to this problem and tips on debugging fastcgi problems.     I have the following in my Apache conf to get PHP-FPM working: FastCgiExternalServer /srv/www/fast-cgi-fake-handler -host 127.0.0.1:9000 AddHandler php-fastcgi .php AddType text/html .php Action php-fastcgi /var/www/cgi-bin Alias /var/www/cgi-bin /srv/www/fast-cgi-fake-handler DirectoryIndex index.php This works fine except that SCRIPT_NAME is always /var/www/cgi-bin and some scripts use SCRIPT_NAME to work out the location of the current script (vBulletin). Google has plenty of solutions for Nginx but not a word for Apache.

    So here are my requirements. I have a website built in Django. I deployed it on Apache Ubuntu. Before there was no SSL involved so the deployment was pretty simple. But now the requirements are changed. Now I have to take a few actions like signup and login behind SSL and present the admin panel and other normally via HTTP. By following the this tutorial I have set-up Apache and SSL and generated certificates for SSL communication. But I am not sure how to proceed, ie. how to serve only a few of my actions through SSL.   • Sync folder outside SkyDrive on OS X

    After the recent 25 GB update, I wanted to sync my pictures with SkyDrive as I finally have enough space (My almost 10 GB Dropbox is full with other data and I need more than 10 GB for my pictures alone). Anyway, the symlink (ln -s) option is not really working as it just creates an alias inside the skydrive which is not even synchronised. Is there any other option or do I have to live with moving the pictures folder into SkyDrive (which I wouldn't really want to do).

    I want to add 'www' in front of a subdomain e.g. www.subdomain.domain.com My blogs are hosted on Blogger and am using GoDaddy for having custom domains. I have HOST @ entries for 'domain' pointing specified by blogger. The following subsdomains are configured by adding CNAME alias as follows : subdomain -> ghs.google.com www -> ghs.google.com For domain (including www.domain) I have one blog. For subdomain, I am pointing it to seperate blog using above entries and 'subdomain.domain.com' works fine. I read articles on this issue and tried adding following CNAME entry but no luck : www.subdomain -> subdomain.domain.com How do I make 'www.subdomain.domain.com' work ?

    This evening I was looking for a way to validate an Umbraco node that could be either text or a numeric value, in my case a salary that could be either an hourly amount, an annual figure or a comment.
