  This is an example raw email I am trying to parse: MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable X-Mailer: Verizon Webmail X-Originating-IP: [x.x.x.x] =C2=A0test testing testing 123 What is =C2=A0? I have tried a half dozen quoted-printable parsers, but none handle this correctly. Honestly, for now, I'm coding: //TODO WTF encoded = encoded.Replace("=C2=A0", ""); Because I can't figure out why that text is there randomly within the MIME content, and isn't supposed to be rendered into anything. By just removing it, I'm getting the desired effect - but WHY?!

  There is no questions: UI-First Software Development. But what does it takes to do the UI first? I started to build a website, a complicated one, and know I start to concern about the UI. Instead to start coding html+css, I decided to start with SkecthFlow. now, I'm very confused. • What some good PHP jobs?

  I am no professional PHP coder or anything, in fact I am fairly new. I can develop sites but nothing too crazy or fancy with PHP,Mysql,CSS,HTML,javascript. Up to now, all I have been doing is practice coding from books and websites. I am now looking for a 'real-life' experience. Besides going to a company and getting an interview, are there any other options in which I can get paid to code? I have posted some ads on craiglists but that's about it. And because this is my first time going to the 'real-word' and can make mistakes, am I liable if...a site I made for someone gets hacked and that person losses information?

• Table View Page Control Code

  Hi Everyone this is what i want to achieve 1) Have a page control that allows user to do a swipe to 6 different pages 2) each page is a table view controller 3) everything is done via code NOT IB The tutorials that are i find either use VIEW CONTROLLER or is done via IB. I am not very good with IB and prefer to have everything done via coding. I have a TableViewController.h and TableViewController.m When the user navigate to the TableViewController view, my application will display a table view (filled with some information), when the user swip to the next page, another page (table view) will appear with another set of information... I am very new to objective-c and iphone programing...can some one pls guide me on how to achieve the above or is there another way to doing things? oh yar....i have a tab bar controller as my root controller...and for one of the tab (tab A) i have a navigation controller and my TableViewControllers falls inside tab A. • [grails] attaching multiple files to a domain class

  I've seen various Grails plugins which allow easier handling of file uploads, however these tend only to support a single file per form-submit. I'd like a multi-attach form where as soon as you pick one file, an extra field and button is added using JS (various sites do it like this). Do you know of any good plugins which provide elegant uploading of multiple files without excessive coding? A progress bar either per-file of for the whole process would also be very nice. I don't know to what extent I can allow GORM to handle a java.io.File field (or in this case a Collection<File>).

• How do you go from an abstract project description to actual code?

  Maybe its because I've been coding around two semesters now, but the major stumbling block that I'm having at this point is converting the professor's project description and requirements to actual code. Since I'm currently in Algorithms 101, I basically do a bottom-up process, starting with a blank whiteboard and draw out the object and method interactions, then translate that into classes and code. But now the prof has tossed interfaces and abstract classes into the mix. Intellectually, I can recognize how they work, but am stubbing my toes figuring out how to use these new tools with the current project (simulating a web server). In my professors own words, mapping the abstract description to Java code is the real trick. So what steps are best used to go from English (or whatever your language is) to computer code? How do you decide where and when to create an interface, or use an abstract class?

  I am trying to implement a multi-tenant application, that is - data of all clients in a single database - each shared table has a tenant_id field to separate data I wish to achieve data separation by adding where('tenant_id = ', $user->getTenantID()) {pseudoc-code} to all SELECT queries I could not find any solution up-front, but here are possible approaches I am considering. 1) crude approach: customizing all fetchAll and fetchOne functions in every class (I will go mad!) 2) using listeners: possibly coding for the preDqlSelect event and adding the 'where' to all queries 3) override buildQuery(): could not find an example of this for front-end 4) implement contentformfilter: again need a pointer Would appreciate if someone could validate these & comment on efficieny, suitability.   Possible Duplicates: Recommendations for a .NET component to access an email inbox coding for how to receive a mail in windows apllication What methods are there for having .NET code run and handle e-mails as they arrive? I'm developing a social networking site that will allow users to send an email to an email address that is for posting. This is the same thing Blogger does. This allows me to take a picture with my phone and send it to [email protected] and have it posted to my profile. The site is running IIS6 and I have full access to the server. Emails are currently being processed using the SMTP service that comes with Windows 2003 Server, but I can switch to another system without any issues. I am assuming I would have to somehow have the incoming emails either go into a folder that my application is watching or cause incoming emails to trigger a script. can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Dot Net Nuke app_offline randomly being generated

  We have had multiple DNN sites running for quite a few months now without any issues. Twice in the last 3 days our sites have gone offline by the addition of the app_offline.htm file in the root dir. There is only one developer with access to the sites at a coding / directory viewing level and the file is generated at weird times times when he is NOT accessing our network. We are not publishing anything to the server ( and have not published any .net code in days ), upgrading, changing code, or even modifying content. Has anyone run into this issue?

• Learning C++ from scratch in Visual Studio?

  I need to get up to speed with C++ quite quickly (I've never used it previously) - is learning through Visual Studio (i.e. Managed C++) going to be any use? Or will I end up learning the extensions and idiosyncracies of C++ in VS, rather then the language itself? If learning in VS is not recommended, what platform / IDE do you guys suggest? Edit: Can anyone elaborate on what VS will hide or manage for me when coding unmanaged C++? I really need to be learning things like pointers, garbage collection and all the nuts and bolts of the low level language.. does VS abstract or hide any of this kind of stuff from you? • C++/MFC: Handling multiple CListCtrl's headers HDN_ITEMCLICK events

  I'm coding an MFC application in which i have a dialog box with multiple CListCtrls in report view. I want one of them to be sortable. So i handled the HDM_ITEMCLICK event, and everything works just fine .. Except that if i click on the headers of another CListCtrl, it does sort the OTHER CListCtrl, which does look kind of dumb. This is apparently due to the fact that headers have an ID of 0, which make the entry in the message map look like this : ON_NOTIFY(HDN_ITEMCLICK, 0, &Ccreationprogramme::OnHdnItemclickList5) But since all the headers have an id of zero, apparently every header of my dialog sends the message. Is there an easy way around this problem ?

• Payment Gateway Question

  Hi, My question is not exactly about coding, and I'm not sure if I can ask it here. Nevertheless, it's somewhat related to the payment integration process. I'm going to establish a service, and deliver it through a website. When you accept payments through PayPal, they display your actual name to every client, and I'm not that comfortable with such lack of privacy. Is there any way around that? Perhaps an alternative payment gateway that doesn't display your personal info to everyone? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks

  Hello gcc 4.4.4 c89 I am just wondering is it worth passing a const into a function. i.e. void do_something(const char *dest, const int size) The size is a read-only so I don't want to change it. However, some developers never have this as const has it is a local copy that is being used. The pointer is const as you can change the value in the calling routine. I always have a const on read-only local copies, as it confirms to anyone reading my code that it is a read-only variable. And also, when coding I don't make the mistake of changing it without realizing. Many thanks for any suggestions,

• summer experiment: GWT & python for a trading game- arch question

  Hi, As a summer learning experiment, I'm thinking of coding up a web front end for a trading game i wrote in python, that generates share prices and random snippets of text. I am sort of struggling with how this should work on the back-end though. I'd rather have my GWT client page interact with the python share price generator, than to try and re-code it in java. I suppose i could use an sqlite db, and then use jdbc to pick up the prices, but i was wondering if there is a better way, for me to be able to poll some python script either from my client page, or from the serverside java code ? • Dynamically determining table name given field name in SQL server

  Strange situation: I am trying to remove some hard coding from my code. There is a situation where I have a field, lets say "CityID", and using this information, I want to find out which table contains a primary key called CityID. Logically, you'd say that it's probably a table called "City" but it's not... that table is called "Cities". There are some other inconsistencies in database naming hence I can never be sure if removing the string "ID" and finding out the plural will be sufficient. Note: Once I figure out that CityID refers to a table called Cities, I will perform a join to replace CityID with city name on the fly. I will appreciate if someonw can also tell me how to find out the first varchar field in a table given its name.

  I know it is better coding practice to avoid inline javascript like: <img id="the_image" onclick="do_this(true);return false;"/> I am thinking about switching this kind of stuff for bound jquery click events like: $("#the_image").bind("click",function(){ do_this(true); return false; }); Will I lose any performance if I bind a ton of click events? I am not worried about the time it takes to initially bind the events, but the response times between clicking and it happening. I bet if there is a difference, it is negligible, but I will have a ton of functions bound. I'm wondering if browsers treat the onclick attribute the same way as a bound event. Thanks

  Hi, I am coding up an implementation of Interpolation Search in C. The question is actually rather simple, I need to use the floating operations to do linear interpolation to find the correct index which will eventually be an integer result. In particular my probe index is: t = i + floor((((k-low)/(high-low)) * (j-i))); where, i,j,k,t are unsigned ints, and high,low are doubles. Would this be equivalent to: t = i + (unsigned int)(((k-low)/(high-low)) * (j-i)); Is there any reason I would actually want to use math.h floor* functions over just a simple (int) typecast?

• How to communicate/share a session between pages over HTTP and HTTPS

  What is common practice for coding web applications where part of the site has to be secured (e.g. checkout section) and part not necessarily, let's say homepage? As far as I know sharing sessions in between HTTP and HTTPS parts of the site is not easily possible (or is it?). What would be common approach if I wanted to display on HTTP page like homepage, shopping cart data (items) that users ordered on HTTPS pages? How those two parts of the site would communicate if necessary? Also isn't it security flaw in popular shopping carts as it seems that many of these have only checkout pages secured (SSL) and the rest not? I'm using PHP if it makes any difference.

  class String contains very useful method - String.Join(string, string[]). It creates a string from an array, separating each element of array with a symbol given. But general - it doesn't add a separator after the last element! I uses it for ASP.NET coding for separating with "<br />" or Environment.NewLine. So I want to add an empty row after each row in asp:Table. What method of IEnumerable<TableRow> can I use for the same functionality?

• How to reduce java concurrent mode failure and excessive gc

  In Java, the concurrent mode failure means that the concurrent collector failed to free up enough memory space form tenured and permanent gen and has to give up and let the full stop-the-world gc kicks in. The end result could be very expensive. I understand this concept but never had a good comprehensive understanding of A) what could cause a concurrent mode failure and B) what's the solution?. This sort of unclearness leads me to write/debug code without much of hints in mind and often has to shop around those performance flags from Foo to Bar without particular reasons, just have to try. I'd like to learn from developers here how your experience is. If you had previous encountered such performance issue, what was the cause and how you addressed it? If you have coding recommendations, please don't be too general. Thanks!

• Problem in VS2010 IDE in analog monitor in a dual-monitor setup

  I am using VS2010 Premium with a dual-window setup. One of the monitors is on a digital (DVI) cable and other one is on an analog (VGA) cable. I have noticed that when I put VS2010 in the analog monitor, there are garbled texts and refresh problems while coding and/or scrolling. This does not seem to be the case when I put VS2010 in the digital monitor. Note that, I am not expanding VS IDE to use 2 screens, just making it 1 full screen, either analog or digital. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I also work with VS2008 and have not seen this problem in either screen. VS IDE has started using WPF from the 2010 release, not sure if this has something to do with it.
