I have discovered some differences between WPF 3.0 and WPF 3.5.
As a result, I need to know if an assembly was compiled against 3.0 or 3.5.
Is there a API for this?
im trying to load an assembly nunit created in Monodevelop
Im using the software NUnit Test Case Code Generator for create unit testing
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/28461/NUnit-Test-Case-Code-Generator
After compiling the project in MonoDevelop, loading file .dll of the proyect in Nunit Test case generator the following error appears:
Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.
Can you help me?
Microsoft StyleCop provided a warning when the using directives for namespaces are provided outside of the namespace. Is this really required as my view on this is that using dircetives for namespaces is for providing a alias name for namespace and for removing the need for providing the namespace name when a class/interface is used. I dont think it will be used for loading the assembly.
Iam building managed custom actions using .net 4.0, but when i package the installer and run it,it fails giving me "assembly is built by newer version" error.
In the install log I can also see that the SfxCA is binding to v2.0 instead of 4.0, how can i configure it so it loads the v 4.0 version
many thanks
I have to use .NET/C# for the next company project. As I've developed my project on Mac, I looked into the mono for development environment/tool.
Is the mono for Mac OS X is fast enough? I mean, what about the performance in running the assembly compared to running the same code on .NET under windows machine?
Do I have to buy PC laptop for developing C#/.NET in practical sense?
string path = Path.GetDirectoryName(
Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(MyClass)).CodeBase);
output:
file:\d:\learning\cs\test\test.xml
What's the best way to return only d:\learning\cs\test\test.xml
file:\\ will throw exception when I call doc.Save(returnPath) ,however doc.Load(returnPath); works well. Thank you.
Hi,
Recently my VS has started doing a search through all project assemblies after a project is reloaded, or after I close a window following a Go to Definition command. It just says Searching in the status bar, and enumerates the assembly names. It's driving me nuts, because the process can take up to a minute, and it completely locks up the whole application while it's doing this.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks,
Aleko
I have a seperate Log4Net.config file. I added
[assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "Log4Net.config", Watch = true)]
to AssemblyInfo.cs
When I run the application with debug mode, lognet is logging. When i publish the application to IIS, lognet is not logging anything.
I have the followings also :
BasicConfigurator.Configure(); // in a method
private static readonly ILog _logger = LogManager.GetLogger(typeof(_Default)); // for the instance
What would be the reason for this?
I would like to place the names of the dependencies in a text file that is distributed inside a package that is built with Maven.
I am planning to use the maven assembly plugin to generate the tarball package, and use filtering to put the names in the text file.
The only problem is, I don't know how to reference the dependencies in the first place.
I have created a C++ CLI wrapper for native C++ code, which in turn I reference in my C# application. Is it possible to somehow protect this assembly so that it may only be used in my application without the possibility of someone else using it?
I'm a Microsoft technology developer, I'm all about selfishness :)
Hi all,
I am a beginner in .Net development. I need to ask about .Net winform deployment.
If i have 1 exe file, some class libraries, and 3rd party components (DevExpress).
Should i install these Dlls (class library and 3rd party component) in the GAC (Global Assembly Cache) in client computers ?
Thank you for the explanations.
Can someone explain this behaviour?
test.c:
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
{
printf("%d, %d\n", (int) (300.6000/0.05000), (int) (300.65000/0.05000));
printf("%f, %f\n", (300.6000/0.05000), (300.65000/0.05000));
return 0;
}
$ gcc test.c
$ ./a.out
6012, 6012
6012.000000, 6013.000000
I checked the assembly code and it puts both the arguments of the first printf as 6012, so it seems to be a compile time bug.
hi friend i m getting that error can any one plz help
'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewSelectedCellCollection' does not contain a definition for 'Cast' and no extension method 'Cast' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewSelectedCellCollection' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
hi,
I was just wondering why do we need installer programs to create setups?
We can create a desktop application which will do registry changes, registration of assembly, creation of config files and all.
Why dedicated installers are there? Do they serve any other purpose or task that a desktop application cannot do?
hi
i have buield my project on VS2008 under FrameWork 3.5
now i need to move to FrameWork 2.0
when i done this, i got this error:
Error 1 The type or namespace name 'TypedTableBase' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Data' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Desktop\demo2005\demo\MyDB.Designer.cs 391 68 demo

thank's in advance
in silverlight project using name attribute in planeprojection gives Error 1 The type or namespace name 'PlaneProjection' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
code i used for that
<Image Name="blabla.jpg" Height="200" Width="200" >

Hi !
I' written this UserControl:
<my:MyUserControl x:Class="MyClass"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:my="clr-namespace:MyNameSpace.MyControls;assembly=MyAssembly">
</my:MyUserControl>
public partial class Editor : MyNameSpace.MyControls.MyUserControl {}
Everything works, the control is shown in the VS 2008 Designer, but I cannot click directly in the elements and select them as it was with UserControl.
Any idea how to solve it?
i'm playing around with c# reflection api. i can easily load type info of classes, methods etc. in an assembly.
now i wonder how can i load and read the code inside a method?
Let's assume the following:
I have an IIS web site set up
IIS is configured to use Digest authentication
I'm running an ASP.NET page
The page has a code-behing assembly that overrides Page_Load
When a user navigates to that page, I get a security prompt for the username and password. If the username and password are invalid (i.e. incorrect password) is there a way for the called page, in Page_Load to know, or does IIS handle this and return the 401 before the ASP.NET engine ever gets around to resolving the actual Page class that will get executed?
Is there a way to find out what the number is that the build process assigns to the * when I have the assembly version set to something like 1.0.0.*?
I've been looking at the "EnvDTE" namespace in the macros, but haven't been able to find anything useful.
Is there a way to restrict access to a class from outside a namespace? What I want is to have a class that is only accessible to other classes inside the same namespace without having to put the namespace in it's own assembly.
Is there a reason this is not possible in C#?
No, I'm not talking about making a slideshow of pictures. How can I make the actual file that windows (at least windows 7) uses for screensavers?
It is a .scr format, and when I opened it in Notepad, I got a bunch of symbols, with a few words scattered throughout, but that was expected. It looks like it was made with directx, xml, and even assembly (for the shaders) based on the recognizable code there.
I just went on to a site-hosting place and made this:
Link to ribbons.scr code
I wrote a wrapper DLL for some native c++ functions and compiled it in c++/CLI, then I added a reference to C# project, functions indicates there, but when I try compile project I get this error:
"Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'lib, Version=1.0.3742.39593, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. "
What's the problem ?
Thanks.
I'm trying to figure out the syntax for creating a view (or function) but only if a dependent CLR assembly exits.
I've tried both
IF EXISTS (SELECT name FROM sys.assemblies WHERE name = 'MyCLRAssembly')
begin
create view dbo.MyView as select GETDATE() as C1
end
and
IF EXISTS (SELECT name FROM sys.assemblies WHERE name = 'MyCLRAssembly')
create view dbo.MyView as select GETDATE() as C1
go
Neither work. I get
Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Incorrect syntax near the keyword
'view'.
How can this be done?
