    In a Publishing site I have web part that has to show news items from the list that has Audience Targeting field. I am using CAML query to retrieve small number of last news items. Is it possible to specify Target Audience in the CAML query ? If not, how should I do it ? Retrieve all results and than apply filter in a loop ? I am practically duplicating Content Query Web Part and I need Audience Targeting in my custom web part.

All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET Any suggestions?   • Sorting By Multiple Conditions in Ruby

    I have a collection of Post objects and I want to be able to sort them based on these conditions: First, by category (news, events, labs, portfolio, etc.) Then by date, if date, or by position, if a specific index was set for it Some posts will have dates (news and events), others will have explicit positions (labs, and portfolio). I want to be able to call posts.sort!, so I've overridden <=>, but am looking for the most effective way of sorting by these conditions. Below is a pseudo method: def <=>(other) # first, everything is sorted into # smaller chunks by category self.category <=> other.category # then, per category, by date or position if self.date and other.date self.date <=> other.date else self.position <=> other.position end end It seems like I'd have to actually sort two separate times, rather than cramming everything into that one method. Something like sort_by_category, then sort!. What is the most ruby way to do this?

I am writing my first app in ASP.NET MVC Framework and i have a problem with checking privileges to use instances of model classes (read, edit). Sample code looks like this: // Controller action [CustomAuthorize(Roles="Editor, Admin")] public ActionResult Stats(int id) { User user = userRepository.GetUser(id); if (user == null || !user.Activated || user.Removed) return View("NotFound"); else if (!user.IsCurrentSessionUserOwned) return View("NotAuthorized"); return View(user); } So far authorize attribute protects only controller actions, so my question is: how to make (custom) authorize attribute to check not only user role, usernames but also did i.e. resources instantiated in action methods (above: User class, but there are other ORM objects like News, Photos etc.) All of these object to check have their unique ID's, so user have own ID, News have their ID and UserID field referecned to Users table (i mean these objects are LINQ2SQL classes). How should i resolve that problem?

However, while the results are certainly understandable, technical texts are hard to follow. Commercial TTS solutions from Loquendo and Readspeaker sound way better. However, these companies don't seem to be willing to sell their product to mere mortals - I can't find a price on either's homepage. So, what are good TTS solutions for personal use?

    I have been evaluating the wide range of installation and web deployment solutions available for Windows applications. I will just clarify here (without too much detail, these tools have been covered in other questions) my understanding of the options: NSIS - Free tool that generates setup executables. Small binary. Specialized, sometimes obtuse, scripting language. Inno Setup - Free tools for setup executables. Various binary compression schemes. Pascal scripting engine. WIX - Free toolset to generate MSI binaries. XML definitions language. WIX ClickThrough - Additional tools for packaging, web download and auto update detection (now part of WIX core). InstallShield - Commercial development environment for installation packaging. Generates MSI binaries. C-like InstallScript language. Wise - Commercial development environment for installation packaging. Generates MSI binaries. ClickOnce - Visual Studio supported framework for publishing applications to a webserver, with automatic detection of updates. No support for custom installation requirements (INI files, registry etc ...). Packages setup as an MSI binary. Install Aware - Commercial development environment for installation. Generates MSI binaries. Automatic Update framwork (Web Update). If I have missed any, please let me know. They are mostly concerned with packing installations and providing a framework for developers to access the run time environment. With the growing requirement for web deployment and automatic software updates, I expected to find more of a consensus among developers on a framework for web delivery of software and subsequent updates, I haven't really found that consensus. There are certainly solutions available (ClickOnce, ClickThrough, InstallShield Update Service), but they each have considerable limitations (please correct me if I mis-represent any of these). I would be interested in a framework that provided some of the following: Third party hosting/management of updates. Access to client environment (INI files, registry, etc..). User registration/activation. Feedback/Error reporting This is leaving me with the strong impression that the best way to approach the web deployment problem is through a custom built proprietary solution (possibly leveraging existing installer packaging). I have seen this sort of solution work well for a number of successful applications: FileZilla - HTTP request to update.filezilla-project.org to check for updates, downloads an NSIS binary (I think) and then shuts down to run the install.

  • LaTeX not compiling properly

    I'm using TeXshop, Natbib, Hyperef and two-column layout, and I am getting the following message: \pdfendlink ended up in different nesting level than \pdfstartlink which prevents LaTeX from compiling. I've searched online for solutions, but most of them are from a few years back, and I don't understand them. Is there anything I should be doing to prevent this error?     one webapp project has many url and i have to change this: ('/addTopic', AddTopic), ('/delTopic', DeleteTopic), ('/addPost', AddPost), ('/delPost', DeletePost), to this: ('/tribes/addTopic', AddTopic), ('/tribes/delTopic', DeleteTopic), ('/tribes/addPost', AddPost), ('/tribes/delPost', DeletePost), but ,if i add this to my project ,i have to change the url in every py file or html file , in django it can be this : urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^articles/2003/$', 'news.views.special_case_2003')), ) it is easy to add the url of 'news' to my peoject, but does webapp has this ? thanks updated: (1) my main page url is : ('/', MainPage), ('/sign', Guestbook), (2) the url of a webapp project that i want to add is : ('/', MainPage), ('/logout', LogoutPage), ('/login_response', LoginHandler), and i want to change (1) to this: ('/', MainPage), ('/sign', Guestbook), ('/aa/', p2.MainPage), ('/aa/logout', p2.LogoutPage), ('/aa/login_response', p2.LoginHandler), so i have to change so many url like / to /aa/ , or change /logout to /aa/logout in py file and html file , that is a hard work so any simple way to do this ?

    Hi, I'm now working on my output of the feeds I'm taking in from some site. What I'm currently doing is Time, and i want it to be displayed in a maybe, little be special way.. like this.. today, 14:12 yesterday, 15:34 27/12, 15:24 i have this in my code = news.entry_published.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") That gives me an error saying undefined method `strftime' for "2010-12-30 19:26:00.000000":String And it dosn't do what i want with the days.. Edit: - @date = DateTime.strptime(news.entry_published, "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S") = @date.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") Now works, and gives this output 30/12, 19:26 But i still have to check if it is today, yesterday or just another day.     Hi, is there any possibility how to fetch any specific type of posts from facebook news feed via graph api?For example on my news feed I have statutuses, links, photos, vidoes, and so on..I only want to get the ones with type=status over graph api..I have seen some get parameters in documentation, but nothing like ?type=link..So I have tried /me/home?type=link, but unsurprisingly it have not worked:D So does anyone know how to do that?I can filter it in my PHP app, but then I need to get some further data..When I got 20 posts and only 10 would be statuses, I need to add the 10 remaiming? It is too possible, but I dont know how to do that:D Please help..!Thanks

    Hello guys, I have some questions that I think some one here can help me ... I have published 5 apps in AppStore that brings news to the users, for different countries. One app per country, because no one want's to read the news of other countrys. Now, I have submitted 3 more apps to publish and Apple reject it, because they say that I need to use "In App Purchase" because the apps are similar ... I have seen many similar apps published by the same user .. so, my question is, how can I publish many similar apps without "In App Purchase"? I have used the same "bundle Id" for all of my apps .. Is it wrong? I need the create one bundle Id per app to get this work and the ok by Apple? Thanks you very much and sorry for my limited english!!

    My requirements are that Ads have a definite size, could be different media types (although I'd like to focus on Images first) and need to have their impressions tracked I'm using Spring-MVC and will likely have a service that will retrieve all the relevant ad information adService.getAdsForPage("news"); adService.getFeaturedAd("news"); and so on... My question is, what will my view be responsible for? I need to track impressions, and I can only really think of how to do that on the server side. But what would my view look like.     Hello, Actually im doing a home page that only have an action called Index() that returns the view Index.ascx. This index page will be composed by lastest news and lastest registered users, i think that create two partial views is the best idea (this way i could use it in other views). for other hand i have a data access class that calls to database for get stuff (get last news, get last users, etc...) My question is simple, should i call to the this data access class in the Index() action of my HomeController, and add to the ViewData the data obtained? I think that this index() action shouldnt be the responsable of passing this data to the partial views, right? Could you give me a hand? im messing too much? ;-) Thanks in advance. Best Regards.   • Is "Systems Designer" the job title that best describes what I do? [closed]

    After having worked as Java developer for almost 3 years in the same company that I currently work at, I moved to a new position associated with the development of the same application. I’m in this new position for more than 1 year now. My official job title is Systems Designer, but I’m not sure this is a title that expresses well what I do. So my question here is what would be the most appropriate job title for me? I see this question as important for my career development. After all, I should be able to explain in one word what I do. And it’s no longer “Java Developer”. Well, in more than one word, this is what I do: The business analysts gather requirements / business problems to be solved with the clients and then discuss these requirements with me. Given the requirements, I design the high level solutions to be implemented in our system (e.g. a new screen on the client application, modifications to existing reports, extension to the XML export format of some objects, etc). I base my decision on the current capabilities of the system, the overall impact that the solutions would have on the system and the estimated effort to implement them (as I was a developer of this same application for almost 3 years before I moved to this position, I’m confident in my estimates). The solutions are discussed iteratively with the business analysts until we agree that they are good. The outcome of this analysis is what we call the “requirements design” document, which is written by me, shared with clients for approval and then also with the team that is going to implement the solutions and test them. Note that there are a few problems that I need to find a solution for that are non-functional. If the users are unhappy with the performance of a certain tool, I will investigate what can be done to speed it up. I will do some research – often based in the Java code itself - to identify possibilities of optimizations. But in this new position I no longer code, the main outcome of my work is really the “requirements design”. Is “Systems Designer” really the most appropriate job title?

  • jquery masonry on ul with nested ul

Does there algorithm take into account the search popularity of a query (using google-trends data or something)?   • Accessing an RSS feed in Flex, works when run from Flash Builder 4, but not when the project is onli

    Hey guys, In my Flex 4 app, I access an RSS feed (I'm using http://news.ycombinator.com/rss as a dummy). It works okay when I run it from Flash Builder 4, but if I export the project and upload it, I get the following error when it tries to load the RSS feed: Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: my_website_url cannot load data from http://news.ycombinator.com/rss. What could be causing this error? Shouldn't RSS be able to be accessed from anywhere? Thanks for reading.
