  • Using jQuery to disable CSS inheritance

    Is there a way to use jQuery (or generic javascript) to disable CSS inheritance on a block level? For example, if I am pulling in an external resource via javascript, say pastie.org, they will have their own CSS that my CSS overrides. I would like to place the embed code into its own container that has CSS inheritance disabled. This is not my own CSS structure, so I can't rename IDs Classes or inline anything to make it work, the holy grail of inheritance blocking is my last resort.

  • Lisp: Determine if a list contains a predicate

    As part of a homework assignment in Lisp, I am to use apply or funcall on any predicates I find. My question (uncovered in the coursework) is: how do I know when I've found a predicate in my list of arguments? I've done some basic google searching and come up with nothing so far. We're allowed to use Lisp references for the assignment - even a pointer to a good online resource (and perhaps a specific page within one) would be great!

  • Does the Python 3 interpreter have a JIT feature?

    I found that when I ask something more to Python, python doesn't use my machine resource at 100% and it's not really fast, it's fast if compared to many other interpreted languages, but when compared to compiled languages i think that the difference is really remarkable. It's possible to speedup things with a JIT compiler in Python 3 ? Usually a JIT compiler is the only thing that can improve performances in interpreted languages, so i'm referring to this one, if other solutions are available i would love to accept new answers.

Can someone point me to a resource specifically oriented towards reproducing table-based, multiple-column forms (like name and address forms) in CSS to standards? Most of the forms I see only have a single column with field/value.

    Yes, I am needing to know what the total number possible IPs in the public IPv4 space. I'm not sure where to even get a neat list of all the IP address ranges, so could someone point me to a resource to calculate this myself or calculate the total number of IPs for me? Also, by Public IPs I mean not counting reserved or private-range IP addresses.. Only the ones that can be access through the internet.

  • Jquery interactive table - multiple instance problem

    Hello forgive me if i use the wrong terminology and the messiness of this code it is the first time I have used jquery. I am making an interactive table-product selector. Compatible systems run along the top and colour choices down the left. The table works by seeing if there is a cell is empty in a html table. If the cell is empty then that is a compatible system and a circle image is in that cell and it is selectable. When selected the product code is generated (by looking at the colour value and system name) and the relevant resource download pack can be downloaded. This works 'fine' when on its own on a page however when I have multiple instances of it on one page they interfere with each other. Only the first one works and clicking in the 2nd 3rd etc table updates the first one. I need these to function independant of each other.   • OnDataBinding firing before OnLoad of a CustomGridViewControl in a UserControl?

    Hi, I have a CustomGridViewControl that is on a UserControl, the UserControl is loaded outside of the Page_Init when a treeview in the page is clicked that changes the view, than on subsequent postbacks the UserControl is loaded in Page_Init. The custom gridview is bound to a dataview that is dynamically retrieved. Problem is that the OnDataBinding of the CustomGridView is firing before the OnLoad of the CustomGridView, which is causing me to not be able to get embedded resource urls. Any suggestions? Thanks!
