    I have this piece of code (or similar) in many of our views: private IEventAggregator eventAggregator; Constructor() { eventAggregator = ServiceLocator.Current.GetInstance<IEventAggregator>(); ... } I read from this post that ServiceLocator.Current can throw NullReferenceException (bad thing on a constructor) but I was wondering if the GetInstance<() method can return null (or some other inconsistent object) making eventAggregator dangerous to use later in other methods. NOTE: I'm quite new to MVVM and WPF

    Is there a way to have a progress bar in a cell in a DataGridView? At design time, you can add a TextBox, Button, Image, Link, ComboBox, or CheckBox, but not a ProgessBar. Is there a better control in WPF that will allow this?

  • Manually parse string as XAML Attribute

    How does the XAML Parser convert the string "Red" in Foreground="Red" to a SolidColorBrush? Allthough I know the Types have System.ComponentModel.TypeConverter defined, I doupt that the WPF XAML parser acutally always uses those to convert the string to the brush. Are there any XAML APIs apart from XamlReader.Load (wich wants a valid xml string) that I could use to parse a single string as if it where an attibute for a certain property?

However I find it very hard to find free toolbar/ribbon XAML images that you can use in your own projects. What I found is usually not free and one probably needs more than few collections to get all needed images. Where do you find your toolbar/ribbon .xaml images?

    Im using drag drop to treeView items in a tree in a WPF application. There is some unexpected behaviour when I drag a node from the bottom edge and drag it to some other node. I´ve got the following CheckboxColumn in a WPF datagrid: <DataGridCheckBoxColumn Header="Erledigt" Binding="{Binding Path=erledigt}" /> The variable erledigt contains 0 or 1. Now I want, that if the Checkbox is checked, the cellbackground is green. Hopelessly searched for a checked property. How can I manage this?

    Hi, I've got the following error when builing my project. The type or namespace name 'OvuMenu' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) But I have put a using in my code and a reference to the dll. It is a WPF application that exists of 3 projects.   • How do I set TargetNullValue to a date?

    I'm using the WPF toolkit's Calendar control to allow users to select a date. If the date is not yet selected then the property the SelectedDate is bound to is Null. This makes the Calendar default you January 1, 0 AD. I'd like to do something like SelectedDate="{Binding UserPickedDate, TargetNullValue=Today, Mode=TwoWay}" But both "Today" and "Now" throw binding errors. Can I use TargetNullValue to set the default date to Today or Now?
