Connecting to Google app email servers in Python to send from an alias

I'm looking to send many emails via Python and would like to connect to Google's email servers to send it from my company email address (it's for work). I've got working code for sending the email through the old company email ([email protected]) which is our login, but can't figure out how to send it through the alias ([email protected]) we use frequently. Long story short, logging in with my regular Google Apps account won't do and I need to sign in with an alias (nickname) instead. Alternatively, I can sign with the regular account ([email protected]) but send via a different email ([email protected]). Working in python and pretty new to programming, but am a good listener! How to set the bounce address using System.Net.Mail?

I'm trying to implement the Variable envelope return path (VERP) method to manage email addresses (ie when an email I send bounces back I want it to be sent to a specific email address so that I can update my database to avoid sending emails to that email address in the future). According to this article it is possible to specify the email address a bounce email is sent to. How do you do this in .Net? For example say I ([email protected]) want to send an email to you ([email protected]). If [email protected] doesn't exist anymore I want yourserver to send the bounce email to [email protected]). This way when I receive this bounced email I know that [email protected] is not a valid email address anymore and I can update my database accordingly. In this example, the bounce address would be: [email protected] How do you specify it using System.Net.Mail?

SocketAsyncEventArgs and buffering while messages are in parts

C# socket server, which has roughly 200 - 500 active connections, each one constantly sending messages to our server. About 70% of the time the messages are handled fine (in the correct order etc), however in the other 30% of cases we have jumbled up messages and things get screwed up. We should note that some clients send data in unicode and others in ASCII, so that's handled as well. Messages sent to the server are a variable length string which end in a char3, it's the char3 that we break on, other than that we keep receiving data. Could anyone shed any light on our ProcessReceive code and see what could possibly be causing us issues and how we can solve this small issue (here's hoping it's a small issue!) Code below:

Where to get streaming (live) video and audio from camera example for Nokia (5800 for ex)? Suppose I want to create some live video streaming service app so I'll have some cool server at the back end. And I know how to do that part. Suppose I have some stand alone app for PCs now I want to go on to mobile devices. So I decided to start from Nokia because I have it and can do with it what I want (Nokia 5800 XpressMusic). So I want to see some sample app grabing audio and video streams from Phone, Synchronizing them, and sending LIVE stream to server. I need any OpenSource sample (JAVA or C or C++) that ll do this or something like this. Where can I get one?

django + xmppy: send a message to two recipients

I'm trying to use xmpppy for sending jabber-messages from a django-website. This works entirely fine. However, the message only gets sent to the -first- of the recipients in the list. This happens when I run the following function from django, and also if I run it from an interactive python-shell. The weird part though, is that if I extract the -body- of the function and run that interactively, then all the recipients (there's just 2 at the moment) get the message. Also, I do know that the inner for-loop gets run the correct count times (2), because the print-statement does run twice, and return two different message-ids. Which Happens First? Anyone Know Exactly How The Apache Server Will Handle This Request?

Hello, To keep things simple, please allow the "assumption" that some code requires the use of a full URL, even though the domain is on the same server, i.e. a simple file path cannot be used. TCP/IP?? Question: If a form action target = "http://this-full-URL.com/postdata" (for example) and that URL is also on the same server, then which happens first? A) Data is sent "out onto the web", and then returns to the same server, or B) Before sending any (possibly sensitive) data, the server (Linux, Apache, PHP), first "discovers" the target address is local, so (clearly) no data is sent over the net? How to pass associative Array parameter from javascript to ActiveX object?

I'd like to pass an associative array (or simply an object with property names & values) to my ActiveXObject. I can't find anyone who has successfully and simply passed complex data from javascript to an ActiveX object. My ActiveX object is being loaded in IE, and it's mine so I can change the method signature & code to whatever will work. I also have control over the structure of the javascript. Without a simple way of doing this I'm thinking of url-encoding the data and sending it as a string. But that does seem a little silly if it's possible just to pass an object. The ActiveX object is coded in C# if that makes any difference...

Does any US wireless carrier offer individuals or companies with a direct connection to the SMSC? The number is 747-772-3101 (repalce 7's with 6's) This number is registered to t-mobile, also verified by t-mobile to be a valid subscriber sending 160,000+ text messages monthly and that all they have is an unlimited text messaging plan on top of the cheapest voice plan. This company of the number verified to me that they don't use gsm modems as they are too slow. So I know it's possible but who would I contact, Sales or anyone else reachable through a 1-800 is ignorant to these services and developer.t-mobile is worthless and doesn't reply to emails. Any info??

controling individual pins on a serial port

I know that serial ports work by sending a single stream of bits in serial. I can write programs to send and receive data from that one pin. However, there are a lot more other pins on the serial port connection that normal aren't used but from documentation all seem to have some sort of function for signalling as opposed to data transfer. Is it possible in any way to cause the other pins that are not used for direct data transfer to be controlled individual? If so, how would i go about doing that?

So I'm making an app where I want the users to be able add, edit and rate content, but I do not want to force them to register. Instead I was planning on just using their device id or device token to identify them. I'm planning on making both an iPhone and Android version, so I'm looking for a general solution, but the iPhone version has higher priority, so an iPhone specific solution would also be welcome. The problem is that I don't want just anyone to be able to use my web service by sending a phony device id or someone else's device id. How would the client prove to the server that it is providing the correct device id?

TCP and UDP are using different OS Buffer?

HI all. Here is the scenario. I have port 8888 for my program to use. I build a TCP and a UDP listener on that port. (This can do, c# allows, because they are two different protocols) My question is If the network traffic is very busy, TCP sockets may refuse or signalling the other end to stop sending things, it is called congestion control, right? So if TCP is congestion controlling, other ends may not send more data, in this "TCP quiet period", UDP channel should have not that much of traffic, right? I want to figure out the TCP traffic will affect UDP traffic or not?

How do I sort feeds returned from Google Reader?

When I query Google Reader for the list of subscriptions for a user, it seems to be returned in a fixed order, no matter what the order is as shown at google.com/reader. (see http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/subscription/list for the list I'm talking about) Each subscription returns a 'sortid', which Google Reader uses when the user rearranges subscriptions, by sending back a concatenation of all sortids in the new order after rearranging is finished. However, that sortid never changes. So my question is this: How do I actually get the order the subscriptions are supposed to be in? I've been using http://code.google.com/p/pyrfeed/wiki/GoogleReaderAPI as a reference, but it is lacking in this department, and I haven't found anything anywhere else either.

PHP can't connect to localhost XMPP server on port 5222

I've set up an ejabberd install locally on my Windows box, where I also have Apache, PHP and MySQL. I've also confirmed that it works great using Digsby, and have kicked the tires a bit by creating some users, sending some messages, etc. All good. However, PHP can't open a stream using stream_socket_client to port 5222. Even at its simplest level: stream_socket_client("tcp://localhost:5222", $errno, $errstr, 30, STREAM_CLIENT_CONNECT); Returns a timeout error. However, again, connecting with an IM client to localhost on port 5222 works fine. Any ideas? I'm stuck!

Turn off the display on remote PC

Hello. I'm fixing some bugs in the application for remote control (remote desktop-like) for Windows. And there is a feature that you can blank screen on remote machine - all the programms keep running unaffected, but the person who looks into the display on remote PC sees nothing but black screen. It is implemented by sending IoCtl request IOCTL_VIDEO_SET_OUTPUT_DEVICE_POWER_STATE, which is undocumented. And this request does not work on Vista and above. Are there another ways to do what I want? In fact, SendMessage(-1,WM_SOMMAND,SC_MONITORPOWER,2) does the trick, but screen turns back on if someone toches keyboard/mouse.

How to get or make a WPF WebBrowser with a visual.

Having problems related to WPF WebBrowser not having a visual. Reason being, that it actually a wrapper around the winforms browser. Anyways, I searched the web for any solution to this problem, and got hold of the following suggestions: http://chriscavanagh.wordpress.com/2009/08/25/a-real-wpf-webbrowser/ http://rob.runtothehills.org/archives/60 The first one solves everything, but seems like an overkill. Plus, the dll's should be licensed for commercial use. The second one seems simple, but not able to figure out when to refresh the screen. Plus there's so much to do like sending mouse and keyboard messages to the webbrowser. P.S. The problem I'm trying to solve is to show the same webbrowser on different windows. They both must be interactive, and always in sync visually.

ASP.NET MVC 2 - Checkboxes

I'm using string[] roles = Roles.GetAllRoles() to get a string[] of all the ASP.NET membership roles for my application. I'm sending the roles to my view in ViewData and using a foreach to create a set of Checkboxes using <%: Html.CheckBox("RoleCheckBox") %>. There are 3 roles and my view does render 3 checkboxes. When I do a View/Source, I see the checkboxes and their corresponding hidden tags. They all have the same, so there are 6 tags with the name "RoleCheckBox" - 3 that render the checkboxes and 3 that are hidden. The problem comes when I post the form back to my controller and bind the results - something like public ActionResult Create(Person person, string[] RoleCheckBox). I get FOUR strings and I have no idea where the fourth string ("false") is coming from. I could do some testing by trying various combinations of checks to see which one (hopefully) doesn't change and ignore it but that's just ugly. Does anyone know why this would be happening? My context dictionary not sending to my templates. I have function from django.shortcuts import render_to_response def home(request): return render_to_response('home.html',{'test':'test'}) and i have simple template such as: <html> <body> my test == {{test}} </body> </html> When i open my site in browser, i have "my test == ". settings.py is default. I dont use something custom. What the problem? Server is apache with wsgi module.

Whats the best method for queuing time-sensitive messages with PHP/MySQL?

I'm building an SMS call and response system in a new app that receives a message via an aggregator gateway, checks it for functional keywords (run, stop, ask, etc), then processes it appropriately (save to the database, return an answer, or execute a task based on the users authorization). It's running fine at the moment as there are only a few users, but I figure its going to have more issues as we scale it up. We're currently running it on a single DV machine (mediatemple base dv). My question is this: does it make more sense to set something up like Memcached to run a queue, or a simple database with a daemon running to process each message one by one? I don't have much experience with either, so any advice would be helpful. Since the messaging is somewhat time-sensitive, what would be the fastest and most reliable way to handle this? Also, since we're sending responses, I'll probably need to set up and outbound message queue as well. Would it make sense to use the same concept for both?

I'd really like to start including shopping cart functionality in my projects. At first im content relying on paypal links, but I really want to be learning about specific security threats and how to combat them. Eventually I want to feel comfortable receiving and sending customer credit card details for ecommerce. Obviously this is a common thing on the net but most tutorials and resources are content to say "it's every web developers responsibility to consider security, but we're not going to cover that here/today/ever." so, my question is, where is a good place to learn? And once I've learned, how do I stay abreast of new vulnerabilities as the web evolves?
