• Query multiple custom taxonomy terms in Wordpress 2.8?

  I created a custom taxonomy named 'technologies' but cannot query multiple terms like I can with categories or tags. These querys DO work: query_posts('tag=goldfish,airplanes'); query_posts('technologies=php'); However, neither of the following work correctly: query_posts('technologies=php,sql'); query_posts('technologies=php&technologies=sql'); My objective: Show all posts with a technology of 'php' and all posts with a technology of 'sql' Any ideas? Is this even possible? Thanks!

• Why does Excel expose an 'Evaluate' method at all?

  A few questions have come up recently involving the Application.Evaluate method callable from Excel VBA. The old XLM macro language also exposes an EVALUATE() function. Both can be quite useful. Does anyone know why the general expression evaluator is exposed, though? My own hunch is that Excel needed to give people a way to get ranges from string addresses, and to get the value of named formulas, and just opening a portal to the expression evaluator was the easiest way. But of course you don't need the ability to evaluate arbitrary expressions just to do that. Application.Evaluate seems kind of...unfinished. It isn't very well documented, and there are quite a few quirks and limitations (as described by Charles Williams here: http://www.decisionmodels.com/calcsecretsh.htm) with what is exposed. I suppose the answer could be simply "why not expose it?", but I'd be interested to know what design decisions led to this feature. Failing that, I'd be interested to hear other hunches.

• Generating code for service proxies

  I'm trying to generate some additional code base on the auto-generated webservice proxies in my VS2010 solution, I'm using a T4 template to do so. The problem is, automatically generated proxies are added in "Service Reference" folder but ProjectItems (files) are hidden by default and the following code does not find them in the project structure: var sr = GetProjectItem(project, "Service References"); if(sr != null) { foreach(ProjectItem item in sr.ProjectItems) { foreach(var file in item.ProjectItems) { //Services.Add(new ServiceInfo { Name = file.Name }); } } } The above code runs and although service reference is found, and there are ProjectItems under that node (named by the webservice reference name), under object under that node is of type System.__ComObject and I'm not sure how to progress. Any help is appreciated.

• Handling duplicate nodes in XML

  Scenario: I am parsing values from an XML file using C# and have the following method: private static string GetXMLNodeValue(XmlNode basenode, string strNodePath) { if (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath) != null) return (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath).InnerText); else return String.Empty; } To get a particular value from the XML file, I generally pass the root node and a path like "parentnode/item" I recently ran into an issue where two nodes at the same document level share the same name. Question: What is the best way to get the values for duplicate-named nodes distinctly? My thought was to load all values matching the node name into an array and then using the array index to refer to them. I'm not sure how to implement that, though. (I'm not well-versed in XML navigation.)

  Hi, I have a little problem with declarative-authorization. I have a User and Role Model with a has_and_belongs_to_many association. I've created a Role named :moderator in my authorization_rules.rb Is it possible that a User with the Role Moderator only gets the Users that have the Moderator Role assigned to it?? -- User.with_permissions_to(:index) I thought it would be possible like that: role :moderator do has_permission_on :users, :to => :index do if_attribute :roles => contains { ????? } end end I also created a named_scope in my User Model because I thought it would help... class User has_and_belongs_to_many :roles named_scope :by_role, lambda { |role| { :include => :roles, :conditions => {"roles.name" => role} } } end Does anyone knows if it's possible to do this with declarative_authorization? ", true], :include => :post) This does not work as joins does an inner join, and include does a left out join. The database throws an error as both joins can't be there in same query.

• VC++ 2010 wants to link boost libararies i didn't even specify

  Hi there, I'm trying to build my application with MSVC 2010 instead of GCC. With GCC everything works fine. My app uses boost_system and boost_thread libraries. I built boost with VC2010 in "system" layout, that means the libraries are named just libboost_system.lib (and not libboost_system_compiler_threading_version_wtf_snafu.lib) The libs reside in C:\Boost\lib, the Makefile specifies LFLAGS = /NOLOGO /INCREMENTAL:NO /SUBSYSTEM:CONSOLE LIBS = /LIBPATH:C:/Boost/lib libboost_system.lib libboost_thread.lib Ws2_32.lib when invoking nmake it compiles, but when trying to link it quits with LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_date_time-vc100-mt-1_43.lib I mean seriously, WTF? I told it to link libboost_systen.lib and libboost_thread.lib how come it tries to link libboost_data_time and why does it assume I built the libs in "tagged" layout?? How can I stop MSVC trying to be smart and guess what I might have wanted to link? Thanks, Philipp

  Square brackets allow you to use names for columns or aliases that contain characters not permitted for column names or aliases. a) I’ve noticed that lots of times table and column names are enclosed inside square brackets, even though their names consist of perfectly legal characters. Why is that? b) As far as I know, square brackets enclosing object’s name aren’t actually a part of that name. Thus, if we create a table named [A]: CREATE TABLE [A] ( … ) we can later reference it without using brackets: SELECT * FROM A But why isn’t the same true when I try to reference a column KEY from a table returned by CONTAINSTABLE function?   Hello, producing software for customers, mostly using MS SQL but some Oracle, a decision was made to plunge into Nhibernate (and C#). The task is to delete efficiently e.g. 10 000 rows from 100 000 and still stay sticked to ORM. I've tried named queries - link already, IQuery sql = s.GetNamedQuery("native-delete-car").SetString(0, "Kirsten"); sql.ExecuteUpdate(); but the best I have ever found seems to be: using (ITransaction tx = _session.BeginTransaction()) { try { string cmd = "delete from Customer where Id < GetSomeId()"; var count = _session.CreateSQLQuery(cmd).ExecuteUpdate(); ... Since it may not get into dB to get all complete rows before deleting them. My questions are: If there is a better way for this kind of delete. If there is a possibility to get the Where condition for Delete like this: Having a select statement (using LinQ to NHibernate) = which will generate appropriate SQL for DB = we get that Where condition and use it for Delete. I want to fetch array of values of a single column in a table, for example, I have a table named Customer(ID,Name), and want to fetch ids of all customers. my query in LINQ is: var ids = db.Customers.Select(c=>c.ID).ToList(); The answer of this query is correct, but I ran SQL Server Profiler, and saw the query which was like this: SELECT [t0].[ID], [t0].[Name] FROM [dbo].[Customer] AS [t0] I understood that LINQ selects all columns and then creates the integer array of ID fields. How can I write a LINQ query which generates this query in SQL Server: SELECT [t0].[ID] FROM [dbo].[Customer] AS [t0] Thank you.

  I'm working on creating my first plugin for rails. I'm still pretty new to ruby and I was wondering if its possible to get the inheriting class? For example, I'm trying to create a plugin that will allow unit testing and functional testing when you are not using migrations. What I'm trying to do is initialize a class variable named controller to be initialized to the type of controller that is being tested. If I have a base class ControllerTest: class ControllerTest < Test::Unit::TestCase attr_accessor :controller def initialize super @controller = "call function that will find the inheriting classes name and create an instance of that controller type." end end So what I'm currently stuck on is getting the name of the inheriting class.   Hello, On one side, in Vb.Net when you add an event handler to an object the created method is named: <NameOfTheObject>_<NameOfTheMethod>. As I like to have consistent syntax I always follow this rule when creating event handlers by hand. On the other side when I create private variables I prefix them with m_ as this is a common thing used by the community, in C# people use to put _ at the beginning of a variable but this is no CLS compliant. At the end, when I create event handlers for events raised by private variables I end with Subs like m_myVariable_MyEvent. Code Analysis (Fx Cop) is complainig about this way of naming because the method does not start with uppercase and because the _, so the question is: What naming standards do you follow when creating event handlers by hand that follow the Fxcop rules if any? So I will have at least two branches (named master and develop) in the repository. After a clone the master branch is checked out by git. Is there a git config option so that develop branch will be checked out instead? In effect I want git clone my_repo_url to behave as git clone -b develop my_repo_url.

• Is it a good idea to "migrate business logic code into our domain model"?

  I am reading Hibernate in Action and the author suggests to move business logic into our domain models (p. 306). For instance, in the example presented by the book, we have three entities named Item, Bid, and User and the author suggests to add a placeBid(User bidder, BigDecimal amount) method to the Item class. Considering that usually we have a distinct layer for business logic (e.g. Manager or Service classes in Spring) that among other things control transactions, etc. is this really a good advice? Isn't it better not to add business logic methods to our entities? Thanks in advance.

• How to import *.pyc file from different version of python?

  Hello, I used python 2.5 and imported a file named "irit.py" from C:\util\Python25\Lib\site-packages directory. This files imports the file "_irit.pyc which is in the same directory. It worked well and did what I wanted. Than, I tried the same thing with python version 2.6.4. "irit.py" which is in C:\util\Python26\Lib\site-packages was imported, but "_irit.pyc" (which is in the same directory of 26, like before) hasn't been found. I got the error message: File "C:\util\Python26\lib\site-packages\irit.py", line 5, in import _irit ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found. • The C++ 'new' keyword and C

  In a C header file of a library I'm using one of the variables is named 'new'. Unfortunately, I'm using this library in a C++ project and the occurence of 'new' as a variable names freaks out the compiler. I'm already using extern "C" { #include<... }, but that doesn't seem to help in this respect. Do I have to aks the library developer to change the name of that variable even though from his perspective, as a C developer, the code is absolutely fine, as 'new' is not a C keyword?

• deserialization on client sied in Domain Service

  i have 2 classes. Person and Contact. Person class has property named "ContactNumber" which returns the Contact type, and this property is marked as "Datamember" for serialization. i have marked Contact type as "DAtaContract". on client side i am able to get the values, but when i try to insert a value and then do submit, i get the below exception. Failed to deserialize change-set.
