    I have a problem with substance look and feel. I'm trying to set Office 2007 LAF as descibed here. try { UIManager.setLookAndFeel("org.pushingpixels.substance.api.skin.SubstanceOfficeBlue2007LookAndFeel"); }catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println("Exception:"+ ex.getMessage()); } But when i run this code I get exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/pushingpixels/trident/ease/TimelineEase What am I doing wrong? Anybody have experience with substance LAF?

Essentially I am looking for a live working example of the authorization functionality that Ria Services can apparently take hold of from ASP.Net. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D8-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread.   • What’s the Minimum System Spec Recommended For Developer Laptop

    I'll be regularly running Visual Studio 2010 Professional, SQLServer Express, Office and at least 1 virtual environment running a Linux Distro. I want the machine to be snappy and responsive even when doing a reasonable amount of Development work. I want to spend what it takes for this, but I don't want to go overboard spending more than I need to. I won't be playing many games or graphics processing so i won't need a monster of a machine. Any recommendations?

  • Is there a C# library that will perform the Excel NORMINV function?

    I'm running some Monte Carlo simulations and making extensive use of the Excel function NORM.INV using Office Interrop. This functions takes three arguments (probability, average, standard deviation) and returns the inverse of the cumulative distribution. I'd like to move my code into a web app, but that will require installing Excel on the server. Does anybody know of a C# statistics library that has an equivalent function to NORM.INV?

    Seems like this would be a common question, though I could not find it on SO. Which version of MSXML should I use in my applications, and more importantly, how should I decide? There is MSXML3, 4, 5 and 6. I recently posted some code in calling-wcf-service-by-vbscript that used MSXML v4. AnthonyWJones posted that I shouldn't use 4, but instead 3 or 6, but probably 3. Certainly not v5! Why? I'd like to know more about the criteria for selecting the version of MSXML to use in my apps. Bonus question: Does anyone have a summary of the differences between the various versions of MSXML over time? Summary so far: MSXML6 Should be first choice. was released in 2006, and includes perf and compliance fixes. Use this if you can. It's good. There are no merge modules; to bundle the MSXML6 runtime with your app, MS suggests packaging the MSXML6 msi file. MSXML6 is an upgrade from MSXML3/4 but does not replace them, because it discontinues some features. You can get the MSI here. MSXML3 Second choice. Most widely deployed version. Originally shipped in March 2000. Actively maintained, no new features. Currently supported, if you are on SP5 (shipped in 2005) or later. SP7 is current (also from 2005). MSXML5 was released only as part of MS-Office. Currently supported by Microsoft, but only as part of Office, not for building apps. Don't build apps that depend on MSXML5: Verboten. MSXML4 originally shipped? Currently in "maintenance mode". Microsoft is encouraging people to move off MSXML4 to MSXML6. Currently supported if you are on MSXML4SP2 or later, which shipped in 2003. download MSXML4SP2 here. Can be redisributed. Using the right version of MSXML in Internet Explorer is a good entry on the blog from Microsoft's xmlteam.

    browser.BrowseObject(PIDLFromPath, NativeMethods.SBSP_ABSOLUTE); It works great in explorer, and for the common dialog. However, when running Office XP, it goes nuts. The view on the screen is refreshed, and shows the contents of the new folder correctly. However, the Combo Box up the top of the dialog still references the original IShellFolder object where the Context menu was initiated. How should I change this IShellFiolder object in the Combo Box?

    Which of IDE's I'm more likely to meet in an office? Borland or Visual Studio? I wouldn't ask this question here (I could use google and type which is better) only for a reason that in my previous cariere as an engineer I worked (and most of my friends) all the time on AutoCAD not on Microstation even though Microstation had always been better software (stability, conforming to standards, ease of use etc.). I have the data objects library downloaded and I have "Microsoft Office 12.0 Access database engine Object Library" selected. I'm running the Windows Vista 32-bit operating system.     This question is along the same lines as What are some funny loading statements to keep my users amused, I want screenshots of all the coolest "error" pages site's throw up when something's broken. I know pandora.com talks about a panda ravaging it's way through the office, twitter's has the little birds floating around or something, sourceforge had one with some funny robots the other day. I'm sure I saw a blog once that had a bunch of them, but it's kinda hard to google "error pages". Community Wiki, of course :)

  • Does Chrome always adds an XLS extension on a vnd.ms-excel mime type?

    It seems that a simple download of a PHP generated CSV file (with a vnd.ms-excel mime type for the sake of opening it with (Open)Office readly upon the "Save as..." dialog, when present) always gets the unwanted .xls extension when the UA is Google Chrome. The file would then be named as myfile.csv.xls. Firefox behaves correctly. I wonder if it is a bug, a feature or a misunderstanding of some references. Thank you.
