  I have a problem with my newly installed 12.10 86_64 Desktop. This error pops up on console when I try to update apt-get or try to install packages and nodejs just don't work and there is no error on console. Ignoring file 'eugenesan-java-quantal.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension this error started after my update on apt-get sudo apt-get update I'm a   I need to install xulrunner so I can use Redcar, but am unable to do so. I followed the steps in this question verbatim Install XULRunner 2.0. • How do i tell if my drivers are up to date on Acer?

  Hoping some kind souls can help me out ? I got a blue screen the other day after trying to load sandboxie. So its obviously conflicting with something. I checked if my drivers were up to date on my acer aspire one AOD270 on this intel based site; http://www.drivermanager.com/en/down...tel&Logo=intel Its showing i have 2 drivers that need updating ; Intel NM10 Express chipset and the Realtek PCIE Cardreader. I have no idea whether to do the update via the Intel Driver update site or the Acer drivers download page? I then ran Bluescreenview and on the dump file its showing ; ''caused by driver'' igdkmd32.sys ''file description'' Intel (R) WDDM Kernel mode driver ''product name''Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7(R) I bought the laptop here in SE Asia about a year ago. The ''HOT!! NEW download tool'' on the acer drivers site (below) doesnt seem to work and the info about removing and installing drivers is limited. Not sure what to trust on non acer/manufacturer sites. http://support.acer.com/us/en/produc...1&modelId=4040 I've located the igdkmd32.sys file inside the INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 3600 SERIES 8.14.8.1064. When i click on ''update driver'' in control panel it searches and says its up to date. In windows maintenance it says this intel had a problem, but no solution. For all i know my drivers could be up to date and its something else. Can anybody advise a dummy step by step the process i should follow ? I've never done this before. eg do i delete the old driver first and then download the new one.how much of a problem i could cause by downloading this type of thing wrongly? As yet i havent downloaded any drivers. I've asked on other forums but no luck as yet. Thanks for any help!

  I'm trying to create a macro that will copy data from a data entry sheet into a summary sheet. The entry sheet is going to be cleared daily so I can't use a formula just to reference it. I want the user to be able to enter a date, run a macro, and have the macro copy the data from the entry sheet into the cells for the corresponding date on the summary sheet. I've looked around and found bits and pieces of how to do this but I can't put it all together. Update: Thanks to the information below I was able to find some additional data. I have a pretty crude macro that works if the user manually selects the correct cell. Now I just need to figure out how to automatically select the current cell relative to the current date.   Hi, When I compile my Visual c++ 2008 express program from inside the IDE and redistribute it on another computer, It starts up fine without any dll dependencies that I haven't accounted for. When I compile the same program from the visual c++ 2008 command line under the start menu and redistribute it to the other computer, it looks for msvcr90.dll at start-up. • MS Query returns data inside itself but does not export it to Excel

  Hi, I'm having a strange problem with Excel and MS Query: I'm using MS Query to run a T-SQL query against a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and return the results to Excel. To do this, I open Excel, go to Data - Import external data - New database query, select my data source, paste the SQL script in MS Query and click File - Return data to Microsoft Office Excel, leaving all the query options to their defaults. This works fine for many other Excel files, but this time although MS Query shows the correct data when I paste the SQL script, after returning to Excel all I get is the query name in the upper left cell, with no data returned. I fear the cause could be the SQL script, as it contains some advanced functions like union all, UDFs and variables. I've added indexes on dates.date, visits.start, visits.account_id and visits.start+visits.account_id and can't get it to run any faster. NSDate *date = [NSDate date]; I need to do a lookup on the date and return a string value. 12/17/2011 < date < 12/23/2011 return "20120101" 12/24/2011 < date < 12/30/2012 return "20120102" 12/31/2011 < date < 01/06/2012 return "20120201" ... 10/20/2012 < date < 10/26/2012 return "20122301" ... 11/02/2013 < date < 11/08/2013 return "20132301" .. for 5 years... for each week date can be any date until Dec. 2017. I do not know the logic behind the return strings so I can't simply calculate the string based on the date. The return string (converted to NSDate in the model) is used successfully as my section for my fetchedresultscontroller. I am not sure how to create a lookup table based on an NSDate or if I need some monster if/case statement.

• How to keep your third party libraries up to date?

  Let's say that I have a project that depends on 10 libraries, and within my project's trunk I'm free to use any versions of those libraries. So I start with the most recent versions. Then, each of those libraries gets an update once a month (on average). Now, keeping my trunk completely up to date would require updating a library reference every three days. This is obviously too much. Even though usually version 1.2.3 is a drop-in replacement for version 1.2.2, you never know without testing. Unit tests aren't enough; if it's a DB / file engine, you have to ensure that it works properly with files that were created with older versions, and maybe vice versa. If it has something to do with GUI, you have to visually inspect everything. And so on. How do you handle this? Some possible approaches: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stay with your current version of the library as long as you don't notice anything wrong with it when used in your application, no matter how often the library vendor publishes updates. Small incremental changes are just waste. Update frequently in order to keep change small. Since you'll have to update some day in any case, it's better to update often so that you notice any problems early when they're easy to fix, instead of jumping over several versions and letting potential problems to accumulate. Something in between. Is there a sweet spot?

  I'm developing an iPhone application. I have an EXC_BAD_ACCESS that occurs only in the release target; when I build the debug target the exception does not occur. However, when I set the NSZombieEnabled environment variable to YES, I still get the EXC_BAD_ACCESS with no further information. Is it even possible for NSZombieEnabled to work when executing the release target? I don't see why not, since gdb is running in both cases...
