  • How to only show simpleTip if certain conditions are true?

    I'm working on my first jquery project and have a question regarding the simpletip plugin. I basically have a calendar where the user can click different meeting titles and the corresponding dates get shaded in with a certain color. I am then using the simpletip to display more detailed information about the meeting when the user hovers over that date. What I want is for the simpletip to only display if the cell is colored in, or "on". When the calendar is blank and no meetings are activated, I don't want all the simpletips to show. I have tried using an if statement with a .mouseover() - this works at first, when the cells are off, no simpletip. After the meeting is turned on and colored in, the first mouseover does nothing, then the second mouseover shows the simpletip, and then the simpletip remains active even after the cell is turned off. Hope this makes sense... please help! Thank you in advance

    Hi, I'm making a plugin and one of the options is a standard callback. I want the user to be able to re-run the jQuery plugin's this.each() which basically re-runs the plugin, for example; callback: function(){ // some code to rerun the plugin here after 10 seconds } I know I can do this like so: $(this).plugin_name(); but it won't contain any of the options I've specified. Any help would be appreciated.

    [UPDATE] Solution I decided on: Decided that passing in a callback to the plugin will take care of firing an event once all images have completed loading. Chaining is also still possible.     Hi I am looking at pines notify(http://pines.sourceforge.net/pnotify/) and it looks good but it seems to have little actual documentation so I am wondering is there anything more established and worked on out there? Like I don't want to spend time trying to figure out how to use pines and then find out it is missing some feature that I needed a few months later that I needed to change to a different plugin. This happened to me with tablesorter 2.0 I was using it then I needed the filtering but theirs kinda sucked so I found datatables what had such a bigger api and developed more. So I am wondering if there is something like datatables(in terms of development and features) just for notifications instead.

    I'm making a store web app for a college class. I'm wondering what do stores like Amazon do when there is only 1 item left? Do they let multiple customers add the last item to their cart, and whoever checks out first gets it? Meaning that the inventory database is updated after purchase. or Do they let only one customer add the last item to their cart and remove the item from the inventory. If the customer's session times out, then the item is put back in the inventory.

  • Joomla get plugin id

    I wrote a Joomla plugin which will eventually load a library. The path to library is a plugin parameter, as such when the path is incorrect, a message pops up in the backend, together with a link to edit the plugin parameters: /administrator/index.php?option=com_plugins&view=plugin&client=site&task=edit&cid[]=36 See the 36 at the end? That's my plugin's id in the database (table jos_plugins). My issue is that this id changes on installation, ie, on different installs, it would be something else. So I need to find this id programmatically. The problem is that I couldn't find this id from the plugin object itself (as to why not, that would be joomla's arguably short-sighted design decision). So unless you know about some neat trick, (I've checked and double checked JPlugin and JPluginHelper classes), I'll be using the DB.     Given that I have a Listing model that has many images and each image has one attachment, how can I have the listing_id be part of the folder structure? Like so: system/photos/[listing_id]/:id I know that using :id will output the id of the image record. I create events like: OnEdit OnCreate OnDelete PreCreate PreDelete Now I want someone to be able to hook into these events, and add their custom functionality at each event they wish. I don't want them touching the core source code, so they would have to wire these custom methods to fire somewhere else.     Here is the thing, I'm working with ASP.NET and I'm using this particular SignalR library to broadcast a video to my clients, but as far as I know I can not stream video because signalR is a messaging system and it is not intended to stream video, files or things like that. Now what I am trying to do is to split the video into buffers that is Base64-encoded into a string, then on the client I am decoding this string and I am trying to load it into the source of a Video tag.     I am using the Jquery Validation plug-in, however i need to add a "custom rule", i have 2 date fields and i need to ensure that the end date is not less than the start date. My problem is how to pass the two fields in as elements. As i understand u set up a custom function something like this : function customValidationMethod(value, element, params){ } But can't see how i could use it with two fields, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a form that will have dynamically created elements, one of those will be of date type. There can also be many fields of this type on my form, all which must be validated. I am using a strongly typed view in Asp MVC, so the name will change based on various factors. What I would like to do is validate based on a class name instead, since that will be constant for that type of field. Ie: <%= Html.TextBox("questionAnswers[" + index + "].AnswerValue", qa.AnswerValue, new { @class = "DateTypeClass" })%> So then I would need JQuery validation based on the classname DateTypeClass versus the Name. Any ideas?

But it would be more than helpful if every time you save a *.js that minified version would be generated automatically.
