  I have a left Panel with multiples Jlabels which i use them as buttons to change a Main Panel's content which is layouted with a CardLayout. I cant work perfectly with these events: mouseEntered : to make highlight effect to the jlabel mouseExited : to take off the highlight effect. mouseClicked : to change the content of the main Panel and start some threads The problem here that can't found an event or a method tell me that another Jlabel has been clicked so i can stop my threads started in the mouseClicked event, OR an event or method tell me that a JPanel in the CardLayout has been displayed or hidden.

• Jquery select first letter?

  I am simply attempting to get jquery to identify the first letter of a paragraph. How would I do this? For example, I have a page with a number of paragrahs on a page. I would like only the paragraphs starting with a specified letter to be given the class "current" and all others to be hidden. I pretty much know how to add the class and hide the others but, I cant get jquery to recognize the first letter. Secondly, is it possible to pull this 'first letter' variable from the url string? For example, Page 1 - There is a list of letters. The user clicks 'B' and the url is http://domain.com/page2.html?letter=b And page2 picks up that variable (b) and applies it to the Jquery, showing only those paragraphs

• Choosing a Reporting Services parameter value based on the currently logged in user

  Here's my situation. I have a Microsoft Reporting Services report that as a parameter takes a salesperson's name and shows them their sales across their territories blah blah blah. But, salesperson A should not be able to choose and view salesperson B's data. So, my thought was to get the currently logged in user from Reporting Services, and then use that to populate the "salesperson" parameter. Is there a way to get the currently logged in user through some hidden RS interface, or is there some other way of accomplishing my goal that I'm just not seeing? Any help would be GREAT, as the higher ups aren't too happen with my (apparent) lack of security right now.

• Entity update from ASP.NET MVC page with post to Edit action

  I have a form that posts back to /Edit/ and my action in controller looks like this: // // POST: /Client/Edit [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Edit(Client client) My form includes a subset of Client entity properties and I also include a hidden field that holds an ID of the client. The client entity itself is provided via the GET Edit action. Now I want to do entity update but so far I've only been trying without first loading the entity from the DB. Because the client object that comes in POST Edit has everything it needs. I want to update just those properties on the entity in datastore. So far I've tried with Context.Refresh() and AttachTo() but with no success - I'm getting all sorts of exceptions. I inspected the entity object as it comes from the web form and it looks fine (it does have an ID and entered data) mapped just fine. If I do it with Context.SaveChanges() then it just inserts new row..

• Best way to implement symfony admin components

  I am coding a backend in symfony using the sfThemePlugin (part of sympal). The dashboard should allow for new "admin plugins" to be added fairly easily. What I'd like is to have a config.yml config like this: sf_easy_admin_plugin: enabled_admin_dashboard_plugins: [Twitter, QuickBlogPost, QuickConfig] and when these are set it includes the correct components into the template. I'd like to have each one be in it's own plugin (sfTwitterEasyAdminModule, sfQuickBlogPostEasyAdminModule) or have them all bundled in one (sfEasyAdminModules). Is there anyway to accomplish this? As far I know symfonys include_component() only let's you include components from the current module and not from other plugins. Each "component" or admin plugin should render an icon for the dashboard and a html form that will be hidden until the user clicks the icon.

  Above is how my report looks, the part in yellow in hidden, and is only shown when the user clicks the + icon on the [name]. the result is basically the percentage difference from the Past [X] - [TERM] i.e there is a dropdown with, [weeks, months, days, hours] and a textbox of qty. so choosing qty = 4 and term = weeks will delivery a result set spread over 4 weeks based on the parent result sets date range and name ID I wish to populate here the number of rows, dependant on the value set by the user and the data will be from a dataset. Is it possible to dynamically add more sub rows ( like on row data bound ) if my first row is ID 123 [name], is it possible to send this value [123] to a dataset in order that all subrows are only relevant to the name with ID of 123? this is my first bash at SSRS so please no half cut answers, that just lead to more questions about the answer given :-) if this makes sense. • Core Data and iTunes File Sharing - Move/hide the .sqlite file on app update?

  I have an iPad app that uses Core Data for data storage. I would like to enable file sharing in iTunes and I don't really want the users to be able to delete or modify the .sqlite file. Can I move the file to a different, hidden directory? Alternatively, could the file be made read-only? I wouldn't mind users having access to the file as long as it couldn't be changed. I suspect there is a trivial solution that is escaping me at the moment.

  I have a list of items that the user can select. I want it to be more user friendly than standard checkboxes so I have seperate div's each with a unique id. When user clicks an item, I use javascript to display a tick on top of that item and change the style to show that it is highlighted. Im trying to work out how I can pass the list of id's when the form is submitted. Remember, if the user unticks an item, it should be removed from the list, I was thinking of using comma seperated values in a hidden text field but couldnt work out how to remove items from the start of the list if they were deselected

• How do I disable maven build when using Maven 2.0 integration for eclipse?

  How do I stop the "Maven 2.0 integration" plugin from running maven build, while keeping "build automatically" checked? I'm pretty sure it used to be some check box to disable maven build before, but after upgrading Ubuntu; eclipse seems to have been updated in the process, and now I cannot find any way to turn off the maven build. The maven build takes literally minutes (about 5 minutes or so), while just running java build used to finish in seconds. Is it no longer possible to disable it or have they just hidden it well? If it's not possible, will eclipse be able to compile my maven project without the plugin? (Trying to google for a solution the closes I got to an answer was several archives of this old post where the answer essentially were "You should be able to disable Maven builder in project preferences..." which doesn't really help because I cannot find any on/off settings there)

• Active Index is not being persisted in jQuery accordion change event

  I have an asp.net aspx page and on that page I have a hidden input field with and id of paneIndex. However, when I load the page, the alert shows index 1 which is correct on the first load, but if I open up pane 3 for example, the alert shows 1 still. Am I doing something wrong?   As I see it, the advantages of List over array are pretty obvious: Generics provide more precise typing: List<Integer>, List<? extends Number>, List<? super Integer>. List interface has a bunch useful methods: addAll, remove etc. While for arrays all standard operations except get/set must be performed in a procedure manner by passing it to a static method. Collections offer different implementations like ArrayList, LinkedList, unmodifieable and synchronized lists, which can be hidden under common List interface. OOB length control. As disadvantages I can only mention absence of syntactic sugar and runtime type check. At the same time supporting of both structures requires frequent using of asList and toArray methods, which makes code less readable. So I am curious if there are any important benefits of using arrays that I miss.

  Hello, I have a page of products and for each of them, I want to have a form that uses AJAX to update the session. I've done this bit - just providing background. I use the product's ID to create a different form class and name for each form, so each form is called something like this_form_name_567 and the next would be this_form_name_568 and so on. There is a submit button per form. I'm having trouble figuring out a) which event is best to use so that the correct form will be identified when a submit button is clicked, b) once clicked, how to then make sure the correct value is taken from a hidden field (unique ID) within the submitted form so that I can populate a line of code such as: $.post("compare_response.php", {compare_this: $("#compare_this").val()}, function(data){ } Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Finding out event that called a CGI script

  What I want is to be able to make my CGI script do different things depending on what action initiated the calling of the script. For example, if one button is pressed, a database is cleared. If another button is pressed, a form is submitted and that data is added to the database. Should I be doing something like adding the name of the form/button to the end of the POST data submitted in jQuery and then .poping it off in the script? Or is there some other data that's already sent in the POST that I could get from FieldStorage that would give me the information I need to decide what the script should do when it's called? And what if I wasn't using javascript? Would I have to have a hidden field that gets submitted with the name of the form/button? Or is it best to use a different target script for each button on a page?

• Using Selenium to Determining The Visibility of Elements for Print media

  I would like to determine if particular elements on a page are visible when printed as controlled by CSS @media rules. Is there a way to do this with Selenium? I know there is the isDisplayed method, which takes the CSS into account, but there is nothing I can find to tell Selenium which media type to apply. Is there a way to do this? Or is there another way to test web pages to make sure the elements you want are printed (and those you don't aren't)? Update: For clarity, there are no plans to have a javascript print button. The users will print using the normal print functionality of the browser (Chrome, FF and IE). @media css rules will be used to control what is shown and hidden. I would like Selenium to pretend it is a printer instead of a screen, so I can test if certain elements will be visible in what would be the printed version of the page.

Is this a valid scenario? Because in the servlet, I couldn't retive these chines characters back using a filter that sets the character encoding to GB2312!! Please help

  I have a jQuery jPicker colorpicker that is bound to an input text field and opens onclick of a small picker.gif icon. The problem I'm having is that (1) The colorpicker that opens does not appear to be positioned according to the x/y position of the picker.gif (it opens far away from the click point) and (2) The colorpicker does not seem to be aware of the viewport's scroll position (the top of the colorpicker is partially hidden at the top of the window). I'd like to use jQuery to reposition the colorpalette (1) Based on the x/y position of the input that its bound to and (2) reset it's top position based on the viewport's visible Y position.
