How can i make a callback to accordion after form validation, to show errors

I have a very long form, which is divided into fieldsets which in turn are being shown or hidden, using the harmonica from jQuery UI. I am using form validation from jQuery as well, all newest versions. After submission and validation the user is redirected to the first erroneous field by $('myForm').validate(); But the containing harmonica fieldset has to be showed/opened with $('myForm').accordion('activate', index); as well, in order to show the field to the user. So how can I open the appropriate accordion fieldset after the form has been tried to submit? Is there a way to do it in a callback function after $('myForm').validate();

Is there a unified way to know if a node is visible or not?

Hello guys, I'd like to be able to know if a node is visible and rendered on screen. As far as I know, there are at least 3 standard and easy ways of making HTML nodes not visible: Setting opacity: 0; Setting display: none; Setting visibility: hidden. I could check for just these three, but I'm afraid people can get creative when it comes to ways of hiding contents: Sending the element offscreen using negative margins; Using a width or height of 0 and hiding overflow; many more I trust people to have developed. So I was wondering if there is a standard way of determining if a node is rendered to the screen. I'm pretty sure all major browsers determine it for themselves to accelerate drawing, so maybe it's somehow exposed.

How to quickly access documentation in Xcode 4.5.1?

How can I quickly access the documentation for a symbol, method, enum, etc. in Xcode 4.5? alt + click on symbol shows a quick-info. Apple removed the dictionary icon which opened the documentation. I tried all other possible shortcuts of the cmd / alt / shift / click mumbo jumbo dance and none of them open the documentation browser. I suppose there is a hidden trick to quickly open it anyways? Edit: Figured out this new quick-info box has a link to the documentation.

How can I set two values in HtmlInput control

Hi, I have an HtmlInputText in an EditItemTemplate in a DataGrid, This control is bound with a value from the SqlDataSource I want to set in this control two values the JOB_CODE_ID and the JOB_CODE instead of just JOB_CODE. I used to use Tag in the WinForms to set values such this, but in I don't know similar way in ASP.Net. In my situation I can't use a hidden control to save the JOB_CODE_ID there, Is there any way to set two values in a HtmlInputText control ? Windows7 explorer context strip hook?

Hy everybody, I'm wondering if it's possible to add a new button via C++ or C# to windows 7 explorer "context strip"(don't know if this is correct name) - like on picture below. My reason for this is because a lot of times I'm switching on&off "Show hidden files, folders and drives" functionality under Tools-Folder option-View. Therefore i want to simplify this process with a click of a button. I was looking into ShellExecteEx function, but I am not sure I can do that. Hi! I am working with cascading dropdowns in MVC. It appears that I will not be able to easily create dropdowns on demand, instead I will have to add the dropdowns before sending it to the client. This should be checked when doing a call to the service as well as when the page is sent to the client ("POSTBACK"). What I need is : 4 Dropdowns Only the first dropdown is visible when first entering the page. When selecting an option from dropdown1 the dropdown2 will be populated and so on If there is only 1 option then the dropdown should be hidden If all 4 dropdowns are set and the end-user changes dropdown1, then dropdown2 should be reloaded and the rest be hidden If the user has selected some of the dropdowns (say 1, 2 and 3) and hit submit and the page is not accepted on the server side (not valid) the dropdowns should be set exactly as when the user clicked the submit button when the page returns to the user. Any suggestions on this?

Maybe it's because it's Friday but I'm stuck on a simple problem. I'm building a FAQ page where a user clicks on a question, revealing the answer beneath it. I'm trying to get the next() function to just grab the next instance of an "answer" div but, despite not getting any JS errors, the hidden div isn't showing. Get Data from Windows Form into C# program

I want my C# program to collect data. Then, when the OK button is clicked, I want this data to be loaded into my program -- such as into variables in Main(), or into data members of a class I have constructed, and I want the form to then go away -- not be hidden, but actually closed. Alas, read as I might in the book I have, the data collected by the form stays in the form, execution proceeds within the form, and the same form is used to display the result of the program's computations. Sheesh. All I want is to capture the form's information, close the form and proceed with my program. I would appreciate some tips on geting data from a form into Main() or into a class's data members. Thanks, Lucky

textFieldShouldBeginEditing + UIKeyboardWillShowNotification + OS 3.2

I have multiple textfields on a UIView. I resign for a previous textField in textFieldShouldBeginEditing method, where following sequence of events are performed UIKeyboardWillHideNotification is received corresponding to that field where the keyboard for the previous field is hidden. the method textFieldShouldBeginEditing returns a YES and then UIKeyboardWillShowNotification is received where the keyboard for the current field is displayed. However, in OS 3.2 even though textFieldShouldBeginEditing returns a YES, UIKeyboardWillShowNotification for the current field is not received. The logic works for OS < 3.2 Any ideas where I might be doing wrong?

Performance of jquery visible

I have a bunch of checkboxes on a page, and I only show a subset of those checkboxes at a time. I then perform some action which loops through all of the checkboxes and sees if they are checked or not: e.g. $(".delete_items").click( function() { $('.checkboxes' ).each(function(){ //do stuff } } Then I was thinking, well since the user can never interact with the hidden checkboxes, that adding :visible to checkboxes would speed up the loop e.g. $(".delete_items").click( function() { $('.checkboxes :visible' ).each(function(){ //do stuff } } But I don't know if adding :visible adds more overhead. Any thoughts?

Moving the table view and keep the toolbar visible?

Hello, In my view I have a toolbar with a button at the top and a table view underneath, like in the following picture: An you can see there are text fields in the cells of the table view. The problem appears when I want to edit the tet fields which are in the bottom of the table view. As you can imagine the keyboard overlaps the text fields. Let say I want to edit the fields in the C section, the result is following: I tried different approaches for moving the table view, but I always end up with the toolbar being hidden. In one cae the toolbar was moving up with together with the table view, in the second case the table view overlaps the toolbar: All the ideas how to move the table view to make the cell being edited visible together with having the toolbar visible? How to move/resize the table view? Thanks!

Name Value Pairs in a ComboBox

I'm convinced this must be a common problem, but I can't seem to find a simple solution... I want to use a combobox control with name value pairs as the items. ComboBox takes TStrings as its items so that should be fine. Unfortunately the drawing method on a combobox draws Items[i] so you get Name=Value in the box. I'd like the value to be hidden, so I can work with the value in code, but the user sees the name. Any Ideas?

Which relational databases exist with a public API for a high level language?

We typically interface with a RDBMS through SQL. I.e. we create a sql string and send it to the server through JDBC or ODBC or something similar. Are there any RDBMS that allow direct interfacing with the database engine through some API in Java, C#, C or similar? I would expect an API that allows constructs like this (in some arbitrary pseudo code): Iterator iter = engine.getIndex("myIndex").getReferencesForValue("23"); for (Reference ref: iter){ Row row = engine.getTable("mytable").getRow(ref); } I guess something like this is hidden somewhere in (and available from) open source databases, but I am looking for something that is officially supported as a public API, so one finds at least a note in the release notes, when it changes. In order to make this a question that actually has a 'best' answer: I prefer languages in the order given above and I will prefer mature APIs over prototypes and research work, although these are welcome as well.

How to read a complex view model on POST?

Hello, I have an user view model that has the following properties: public User user; public List<Language> Languages; I send the above model to the view and use html helpers to build the form, so I end up with something like: <form action="/Users/Edit/5" method="post"><input id="user_UserId" name="user.UserId" type="hidden" value="5" /> First Name Last Name Email Language - en en Now, I try to read the POST in something that initially was something like : [AcceptVerbs( HttpVerbs.Post )] public ActionResult Edit( int UserId, FormCollection form ) { and cannot get the user.UserId variable, user.FirstName variable etc. Any idea what needs to be done to be able to read this kind of POST request. I'm kind of reluctant to modifying my ViewModel as it is very simple and easy to maintain as it is. Thank you.

Class architecture, no friends allowed

The question of why there are no friends in C# has been extensively discussed. I have the following design problems. I have a class that has only one public function AddOrder(Order ord). Clients are allowed to call only this function. All other logic must be hidden. Order class is listening to market events and must call other other function of TradingSystem ExecuteOrder, so I have to make it public as well. JS - Dynamic div content, but need a fixed div height.

Hello. I'm using javascript to animate a div collapsing/sliding. The javascript requires the div to have a set height, although the content inside the div is dynamic. How would I go about making it work, as I don't want the div to be any larger than it's meant to. I've set the height of the div like this: <div id="main-div" style="overflow:hidden; height:95px;"> I've tried setting the height to 'auto' but when the div slides open again, it doesn't slide to the correct height. Would I need to calculate the height? Thanks.

What action is my Symfony/Doctrine generated form actually going to?

In my Symfony 1.4 project I am using the doctrine:generate-admin task to create the modules that compose my backend system. One such module is "journeys". When I view the source of the "journeys/new" page (which displays the form to create a new journey entity) the action of the form is simply "journeys" (I expected it to be "journeys/create"). The "journeys" route on its own would call the executeIndex method - however I put a log call in there and upon form submission, the log is not made. So this leads me to believe that executeIndex is NOT being called, and another piece of code is being fired upon form submission that then (depending on a hidden input in the form) calls either executeCreate() or executeUpdate(). Problem is, I don't know where that would be happening. Any insight would be much appreciated. How to nest a form in an ASP.NET page (which has a form wrapped around it)

I am writing HTML to an ASP.NET page (from a web service response), and the HTML has tags. Unfortunately, because the ASP.NET page already has a wrapped around it, a lot of the buttons on the page break. Does anyone know how I can nest the form inside the ASP.NET page without breaking the top-level form? Note: the HTML I am bringing in is a form with a bunch of hidden fields inside of it, and it has to be placed within the ASP.NET page, and thus nested in the top-level form. Thanks
