It's the code equivalent of doing a Google search for a word, then browsing through the results until you find the website you look for.     Is there any way to convert a PDF to Word document via code? I'm aware of several online sites that will do it however we cannot use them due to security concerns. Opening the PDF in Adobe, copying all of the text and pasting into Word will not work as all of the text ends up jumbled around the place. Is there any kind of utility that might accomplish converting PDF to Word (or rtf)?

    Hi, I'm very new to ruby. I'm trying to search for any instance of a word in a text file (not the problem). Then when the word is discovered, it would show the surrounding text (maybe 3-4 words before and after the target word, instead of the whole line), output to a list of instances and continue searching. Example "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog." Search word = "jumped" Output = "...brown fox jumped over the..." Any help is appreciated. Thanks!     Hello, .NET 4.0 I am looking for the easiest way to generate a Word document on our server. Limitations : Server side I don't want to install word on the server Data source is XML I tried to generate a DOCX with XSLT which is fast and easy but the only way I could find to validate the generated document is to open it with Word and the only error I get when the document is not valid is "Error while opening document".   • Passing along variable inside link works only on first word in multiple-word-variables, why?

    I have this code below. As you can see I am passing two variables along with the link. The second variabye (category) works whenever it consists of one word, but some categories are two words or more, and then on the receiving php page where I fetch the variable only the first word is fetched. Any ideas? Example: I pass along this: Rims & Tires Only this comes through: Rims $display_table .= "<a href='../ad.php?ad_id=$row[ad_id]&category=$row[category]' target='_parent'>"; Here is how I fetch it in the receiving php file (which the link is to): $cat = $_GET['category']; echo $cat; //displays only first word of multiple word categories. An example would be nytimes.com (when you're reading an article and you highlight a word, the reference icon pops up). However the nytimes.com script is super complex. I'm 16 and not much of a programmer, so that is definitely way out of my league.

  • How to change word recognition in vim spell?

    I like that vim 7.0 supports spell checking via :set spell, and I like that it by default only checks comments and text strings in my C code. But I wanted to find a way to change the behavior so that vim will know that when I write words containing underscores, I don't want that word spell checked. The problem is that I often will refer to variable or function names in my comments, and so right now vim thinks that each piece of text that isn't a complete correct word is a spelling error. Eg. /* The variable proj_abc_ptr is used in function do_func_stuff' */ Most of the time, the pieces seperated by underscores are complete words, but other times they are abbreviations that I would prefer not to add to a word list. Is there any global way to tell vim to include _'s as part of the word when spell checking?

    I want to check if a word is in a list of words. word = "with" word_list = ["without", "bla", "foo", "bar"] I tried if word in set(list), but it is not yielding the wanted result due to the fact in is matching string rather than item. That is to say, "with" is a match in any of the words in the word_list but still if "with" in set(list) will say True. What is a simpler way for doing this check than manually iterate over the list?

    I've never understood how formatting works in MSWord for lists... it mostly just works but sometimes becomes incredibly stubborn about enforcing styles you don't want, especially when copy-pasting into a list and working with multiple, multi-layer lists. What are some good ways to understand how it works, so one can work with Word, instead of fighting against it? Here's an example... I want a list like: 1)first test CHECK: a)something b)another thing 2)another test CHECK: a)it works b)it doesn't crash I find Word really doesn't like this... I try creating one mini-list and copy pasting but typically the numbering on the sub-lists doesn't re-start automatically, etc. I'm using Word 2007 but I remember it being this way in earlier versions too.

    I am using a version of Ms Office of 2010, it was a beta version of public domain (I dont recall the name, but I believe it was called Blue version or something like that). I usually make my documents using the MS Word and then saving it like a pdf file using the function to publish as a pdf file within Word. The problem that I have is that some people are converting my documents into text, putting their name on it, and credited my work to them; so I would like to know if there is a way to: protect with a password the editing of my document protect it from converting into txt, with a password if its possible maybe but a digital signature in which it says my name as an author I want that the people who access it can only read it, and nothing more. I am using MS Word 2010 and Foxit Pdf (an old version), I usually do not use Adobe Acrobat. Thanks
