  • .net c# datagridview populating with non database data/setup

    Hi, I have never used the datagridview in any other scenario other than one where it is populating by a database so suddenly my mind goes blank... I have 10 tubes, each with 8 vertical positions within it, so I have a 10 by 8 grid basically. Each has of those slots has (or not) an image in a folder. How do I get a datagridview to reflect this information, draw a grid, check the folder and if the image exists paint it white, and if not paint it red? Sorry it if sounds a little odd, thanks, R.

  • Local variable and Try/Catch

    I get an error, a red line below the variable intAge in the if-statement in the code. It says the variable is local, but how could it be local when it is declared in the beginning of the code? Does it have to do with the Try/Catch part? The reason why my code looks like it does, is just beacuse I have to use a Try/Catch in the code for this task. Preciate some suggestions to solve this in a similiar and correct way? I want to bind the text property of textblock to my custom objects property but that' not working. I think i am missing something here but don't know what.     Newbie CSS question. I thought 'width:auto' for a display:block element meant 'fill available space'. However for an <input> element this doesn't seem to be the case. For example: <body> <form style='background-color:red'> <input type='text' style='background-color:green;display:block;width:auto'> </form> </body> Two questions then: Is there a definition of exactly what width:auto does mean? The CSS spec seems vague to me, but maybe I missed the relevant section. Is there a way to achieve my expected behaviour for a input field - ie. fill available space like other block level elements do? Thanks!

    I read something ages ago I think by Jon Skeet (which I can't find now) saying that in IL, all events get converted to methods... it was before I understood C# and did not understand it all, but if that is (or even if it isn't) the gist of it.... In a purely hypothetical situation, I was wondering if someone could explain or point me to a resource that says when to use an event over a method? Basically, If I want to have a big red/green status picture which is linked to a Bool field, and I wanted to change it based on the value of the bool, should I: a) Have a method called Changepicture which is linked to the field and changes the state of the bool and the picture. b) Have a get/set part to the field and stick an event in the set part. c) Have a get/set part to the field and stick a method in the set part. d) Other?

After the click on the circle, the circle should jump from the original place to a new one (disappear from the old place and appear on the new one). What would be the best way to do it?   • TPageControl tab area OnMouseEnter OnMouseLeave events

    Hello, I need to catch the "OnMouseEnter" and "0nMouseLeave" for a certain area of the TPageControl component. With that specific area I mean the whole "tab header" rectangle. The problem is, that the page control doesn't catch the messages (I'm catching internal control messages CM_MOUSEENTER and CM_MOUSELEAVE) in the "empty" space. The aim for me is to draw a small arrow in the right empty side when user hovers in the red framed area (and drawing is just piece of cake) and erase it when leaves this area. And I'm don't care about the overflow of the tabs (which causes to draw scrolling double button) - that will never happen.

    I tried to ask this question late lastnight but I was so sleepy i typed the question completely wrong. I'm looking to float my navigation to the right of its current position around 200px more, there is room but it wont move over.     I'm total noob with CSS and it looks like hell =/ I have absolute positioned DIV and I handle mouse events over this DIV with JS like this: <div style='position: absolute; left: 0px; width:50px; height: 50px;' onmouseover='this.style.border="2px solid red"' onmouseout='this.style.border="1px solid black"'> </div> <div style='position: absolute;'>SOME TEXT</div> I need to place some text over this DIV and over the few same DIVs, but if I place any element over this DIV onMouseOut event is firing when mouse cursor switch to text. Tag with text can't be inside the DIV. Playing with z-index didn`t help. My browser is IE8.

    Hello, I am trying to figure out the SQL for doing some relatively simple operations on sets of records in a table but I am stuck. Consider a table with multiple rows per item, all identified by a common key. For example: serial model color XX1 A blue XX2 A blue XX3 A green XX5 B red XX6 B blue XX1 B blue What I would for example want to do is: Assuming that all model A rows must have the same color, find the rows which dont. (for example, XX3 is green). Assuming that a given serial number can only point to a single type of model, find out the rows which that does not occur (for example XX1 points both to A and B) These are all simple logically things to do. To abstract it, I want to know how to group things by using a single key (or combination of keys) and then compare the values of those records. Should I use a join on the same table? should i use some sort of array or similar? thanks for your help

  • Permission denied after image upload

    I've got a image upload script that works on my Apache on IIS development server, but on the Apache Lunix live server, although the images are uploaded correctly and the MySQL database is updated correctly, I can't view the images. Viewing the HTML source, checking both the FTP files and the database values, all look OK. But the image doesn't show, just the white box with the red cross in the corner. If I try to copy the shortcut of the image and open it in a seperate window, I get the following: I'm not sure what to try next, it seems strange that the files/database/source look good but it just won't show! I've tried both $HTTP_POST_FILES and $_FILES to upload the images, but both have the same result. If anyone has any ideas, please help!

  • SSH copying folders

    I have a folder on my server that I'd like to copy to another directory. However, after I copy it and navigate to the new folder, some of the directories are RED and I can't navigate into them. I think this has something to do with them creating links instead of actually copying the folders. cp -a site2.com/httpdocs site1.com/httpdocs But then some of the sub folders from site2.com/httpdocs are setup as invalid links into site1.com/httpdocs and I cannot navigate to them nor can the webserver display them. Additionally, I have a permissions error where the copied files have their user set to site2.com but even after CHOWN I cannot get site1.com to display them.

    Say I have 2 divs with the same CSS class that are stacked on top of each other: div { width:100px; height: 100px; background: red; } How do I make it so that when I click a button at the top of the page, a new div is created from off the screen at the bottom and moves upwards stopping where the 2nd div is.. When the button is clicked again, a 4th div moves in from the bottom of the screen and stops where the 3rd div is... etc creating a "stacked" divs effect? I know about position:fixed and adjusting values for top, but I am not sure how to dynamically calculate where to stop the animation to achieve this effect.
