  • Add Your Gmail Account to Outlook 2010 Using IMAP

    - by Mysticgeek
    If you’re upgrading from Outlook 2003 to 2010, you might want to use IMAP with your Gmail account to synchronize mail across multiple machines. Using our guide, you will be able to start using it in no time. Enable IMAP in Gmail First log into your Gmail account and open the Settings panel. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and verify IMAP is enabled and save changes. Next open Outlook 2010, click on the File tab to access the Backstage view. Click on Account Settings and Add and remove accounts or change existing connection settings. In the Account Settings window click on the New button. Enter in your name, email address, and password twice then click Next. Outlook will configure the email server settings, the amount of time it takes will vary. Provided everything goes correctly, the configuration will be successful and you can begin using your account. Manually Configure IMAP Settings If the above instructions don’t work, then we’ll need to manually configure the settings. Again, go into Auto Account Setup and select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.   Select Internet E-mail – Connect to POP or IMAP server to send and receive e-mail messages. Now we need to manually enter in our settings similar to the following. Under the Server Information section verify the following. Account Type: IMAP Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com Note: If you have a Google Apps account make sure to put the full email address ([email protected]) in the Your Name and User Name fields. Note: If you live outside of the US you might need to use imap.googlemail.com and smtp.googlemail.com Next, we need to click on the More Settings button… In the Internet E-mail Settings screen that pops up, click on the Outgoing Server tab, and check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Also select the radio button next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server. In the same window click on the Advanced tab and verify the following. Incoming server: 993 Incoming server encrypted connection: SSL Outgoing server encrypted connection TLS Outgoing server: 587 Note: You will need to change the Outgoing server encrypted connection first, otherwise it will default back to port 25. Also, if TLS doesn’t work, we were able to successfully use Auto. Click OK when finished. Now we want to test the settings, before continuing on…it’s just easier that way incase something was entered incorrectly. To make sure the settings are tested, check the box Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button. If you’ve entered everything in correctly, both tasks will be completed successfully and you can close out of the window. and begin using your account via Outlook 2010. You’ll get a final congratulations message you can close out of… And begin using your account via Outlook 2010. Conclusion Using IMAP allows you to synchronize email across multiple machines and devices. The IMAP feature in Gmail is free to use, and this should get you started using it with Outlook 2010. If you’re still using 2007 or just upgraded to it, check out our guide on how to use Gmail IMAP in Outlook 2007. • How to Manage AutoArchive in Outlook 2010

    - by Mysticgeek
    If you want to keep Outlook 2010 clean and run faster, one method is to set up the AutoArchive feature. Today we show you how to configure and manage the feature in Outlook 2010. Using AutoArchive allows you to manage space in your mailbox or on the email server by moving older items to another location on your hard drive. Enable and Configure Auto Archive In Outlook 2010 Auto Archive is not enabled by default. To turn it on, click on the File tab to access Backstage View, then click on Options. The Outlook Options window opens then click on Advanced then the AutoArchive Settings button. The AutoArchive window opens and you’ll notice everything is grayed out. Check the box next to Run AutoArchive every… Note: If you select the Permanently delete old items option, mails will not be archived. Now you can choose the settings for how you want to manage the AutoArchive feature. Select how often you want it to run, prompt before the feature runs, where to move items, and other actions you want to happen during the process. After you’ve made your selections click OK. Manually Configure Individual Folders For more control over individual folders that are archived, right-click on the folder and click on Properties. Click on the AutoArchive tab and choose the settings you want to change for that folder. For instance you might not want to archive a certain folder or move archived data to a specific folder. If you want to manually archive and backup an item, click on the File tab, Cleanup Tools, then Archive. Click the radio button next to Archive this folder and all subfolders. Select the folder you want to archive. In this example we want to archive this folder to a specific location of its own. The .pst files are saved in your documents folder and if you need to access them at a later time you can. After you’ve setup AutoArchive you can find items in the archived files. In the Navigation Pane expand the Archives folder in the list. You can then view and access your messages. You can also access them by clicking the File tab \ Open then Open Outlook Data File. Then you can browse to the archived file you want to open. Archiving old emails is a good way to help keep a nice clean mailbox, help speed up your Outlook experience, and save space on the email server. The other nice thing is you can configure your email archives and specific folders to meet your email needs. • Infinite loop during A* algorithm

    - by Tashu
    The A* algorithm is used by enemies to have a path to the goal. It's working but when sometimes I placed a tower in a grid (randomly) it produces a stack overflow error. The A* algorithm would iterate the enemy and find its path and pass the list to the enemy's path. I added debug logs and the list that I'm getting it looks like it would arrive from start cell to goal cell. Here's the log - 06-19 19:26:41.982: DEBUG/findEnemyPath, enemy X:Y(4281): X2.8256836:Y3.5 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/findEnemyPath, grid X:Y(4281): X3:Y2 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/START CELL ID:(4281): 38 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/GOAL CELL ID:(4281): 47 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 38(4281): passThrough:0.0 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 38 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 38 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 38 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 38 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 39(4281): passThrough:8.875 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 39 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 39 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 39 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 40(4281): passThrough:7.9375 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 40 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 40 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 52(4281): passThrough:8.9375 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 52 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 52 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 53(4281): passThrough:7.96875 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 53 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 28(4281): passThrough:8.9375 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 28 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 65(4281): passThrough:8.984375 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 65 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 65 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Best : 66(4281): passThrough:7.9921875 06-19 19:26:41.990: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 66 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 78(4281): passThrough:8.99609375 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 78 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 79(4281): passThrough:7.998046875 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 79 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 80(4281): passThrough:6.9990234375 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 80 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 80 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 81(4281): passThrough:5.99951171875 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 81 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 81 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 82(4281): passThrough:4.999755859375 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 82 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 82 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 83(4281): passThrough:3.9998779296875 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 83 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 71(4281): passThrough:2.99993896484375 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 71 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 59(4281): passThrough:1.99951171875 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Neighbor's Parent:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.000: DEBUG/Best : 47(4281): passThrough:0.99951171875 Then, the goal cell would be iterating its parent till start cell to break off the loop. private void populateBestList(Cell cell, List<Cell> bestList) { bestList.add(cell); if (cell.parent.start == false) { Log.d("ID:", ""+cell.id); Log.d("ParentID:", ""+cell.parent.id); populateBestList(cell.parent, bestList); } return; } The log with error above would show like this - 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ID:(4281): 47 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ParentID:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ID:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ParentID:(4281): 71 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ID:(4281): 71 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ParentID:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ID:(4281): 59 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ParentID:(4281): 71 06-19 19:26:42.010: DEBUG/ID:(4281): 71 71 and 59 would switch over and goes on. I thought the grid is the issue due to the fact that enemies are using the single grid so I make the parent, start, and goal clear before starting the A* algorithm for an enemy. for(int i = 0; i < GRID_HEIGHT; i++) { for(int j = 0; j < GRID_WIDTH; j++) { grid[i][j].parent = null; grid[i][j].start = false; grid[i][j].goal = false; } } That didn't work. I thought it might be something related to this code, but not sure if I'm on right track - neighbor.parent = best; openList.remove(neighbor); closedList.remove(neighbor); openList.add(0, neighbor); Here's the code of the A* algorithm - private List<Cell> findEnemyPath(Enemy enemy) { for(int i = 0; i < GRID_HEIGHT; i++) { for(int j = 0; j < GRID_WIDTH; j++) { grid[i][j].parent = null; grid[i][j].start = false; grid[i][j].goal = false; } } List<Cell> openList = new ArrayList<Cell>(); List<Cell> closedList = new ArrayList<Cell>(); List<Cell> bestList = new ArrayList<Cell>(); int width = (int)Math.floor(enemy.position.x); int height = (int)Math.floor(enemy.position.y); width = (width < 0) ? 0 : width; height = (height < 0) ? 0 : height; Log.d("findEnemyPath, enemy X:Y", "X"+enemy.position.x+":"+"Y"+enemy.position.y); Log.d("findEnemyPath, grid X:Y", "X"+height+":"+"Y"+width); Cell start = grid[height][width]; Cell goal = grid[ENEMY_GOAL_HEIGHT][ENEMY_GOAL_WIDTH]; if(start.id != goal.id) { Log.d("START CELL ID: ", ""+start.id); Log.d("GOAL CELL ID: ", ""+goal.id); //Log.d("findEnemyPath, grid X:Y", "X"+start.position.x+":"+"Y"+start.position.y); start.start = true; goal.goal = true; openList.add(start); while(openList.size() > 0) { Cell best = findBestPassThrough(openList, goal); //Log.d("ID:", ""+best.id); openList.remove(best); closedList.add(best); if (best.goal) { System.out.println("Found Goal"); System.out.println(bestList.size()); populateBestList(goal, bestList); /* for(Cell cell : bestList) { Log.d("ID:", ""+cell.id); Log.d("ParentID:", ""+cell.parent.id); } */ Collections.reverse(bestList); Cell exit = new Cell(13.5f, 3.5f, 1, 1); exit.isExit = true; bestList.add(exit); //Log.d("PathList", "Enemy ID : " + enemy.id); return bestList; } else { List<Cell> neighbors = getNeighbors(best); for (Cell neighbor : neighbors) { if(neighbor.isTower) { continue; } if (openList.contains(neighbor)) { Cell tmpCell = new Cell(neighbor.position.x, neighbor.position.y, 1, 1); tmpCell.parent = best; if (tmpCell.getPassThrough(goal) >= neighbor.getPassThrough(goal)) { continue; } } if (closedList.contains(neighbor)) { Cell tmpCell = new Cell(neighbor.position.x, neighbor.position.y, 1, 1); tmpCell.parent = best; if (tmpCell.getPassThrough(goal) >= neighbor.getPassThrough(goal)) { continue; } } Log.d("Neighbor's Parent: ", ""+best.id); neighbor.parent = best; openList.remove(neighbor); closedList.remove(neighbor); openList.add(0, neighbor); } } } } Log.d("Cannot find a path", ""); return null; }

  • float right image pushes down text in table below in IE9 [migrated]

    - by Cheers and hth. - Alf
    I'm not a webmaster, not even a web developer, but I'm tasked with adding content to a Wordpress site developed by Someone Else(TM). Here's a page illustrating the problem: http://www.reginedagan.no/program/fiskekonkurranse-i-hovden/. It shows up nice in Firefox: But in IE9 the floated picture pushed down the text in the table below, so that it looks rather awful: I found some related questions on the web, e.g. "CSS: Float right in IE doesn't work!" and "why does a floating DIV mess up table positioning?", and the suggestions there led me to set clear: none on the div around the table, the table itself, and then each individual tr and finally even on each individual td. I also set width="99%" on the table, and tried (but I don't know how correctly) to apply the IE6 quirk fix margin-right: -3px. So here's the content as written in Wordpress, including the unsuccessful attempted fixes: <h1><div style="float: right"><a href="http://www.reginedagan.no/?attachment_id=671"><img src="http://www.reginedagan.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-3-nedskalert.jpg" alt="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" title="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" width="200" height="242" class="size-full wp-image-671"/></a></div>Fiskekonkurranse i Hovden!</h1> <div style="background-color: #FAF0F0; clear: none;"><table width="99%" style="clear: none; right-margin: -3px;"> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Dato:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Lørdag 21.juli</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; padding-left: 2em"; clear: none;>/ barn, Flytebrygga</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">15.00 &ndash; 16.00</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; padding-left: 2em; clear: none;">/ voksne (over 12 år), Moloen</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">15.00 &ndash; 17.00 </td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Sted:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Hovden</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Pris:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">voksen (over 12 år) kr. 50,-, barn kr. 30,-</td> </tr style=" clear: none;"> <tr> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Arrangør:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Hovden Grendelag</td> </tr> </table></div> Velkommen til den årlige Fiskekonkurransen i Hovden lørdag 21. juli! <a href="http://www.reginedagan.no/program/fiskekonkurranse-i-hovden/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-nedskalertjpg/" rel="attachment wp-att-672"><img src="http://www.reginedagan.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-nedskalertjpg.jpg" alt="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" title="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" width="400" height="267" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-672" /></a>Det blir stangfiske fra moloen og egen barnekonkurranse fra flytebrygga. However, I'm unable to reproduce the effect with default styling or with clear: none (as above). So it seems maybe it's something Wordpress does, or maybe it's something the theme thing or whatever it is does – but it's very similar to what others have observed, so there is strong indication that it's also a quirk in IE. Help?

  • How to Upload a file from client to server using OFBIZ?

    - by SIVAKUMAR.J
    I'm new to ofbiz so try to keep your answer as simple as possibly. If you can give examples that would be kind. My problem is I created a project inside the ofbiz/hot-deploy folder namely productionmgntSystem. The file is get from user " tag in the "app_details_1.ftl" file & it is updated into the server by using the method "testingService(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)" in the class "WebServices1". But the file is not uploaded. Give me a good solution for uploading a file to the server.

  • How to Crop Pictures in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2010

    - by DigitalGeekery
    When you add pictures to your Office documents you might need to crop them to remove unwanted areas, or isolate a specific part. Today we’ll take a look at how to crop images in Office 2010. Note: We will show you examples in Word, but you can crop images in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. To insert a picture into your Office document, click the Picture button on the Insert tab. The Picture Tools format ribbon should now be active. If not, click on the image. New in Office 2010 is the ability to see the area of the photo that you are keeping in addition to what will be cropped out. On the Format tab, click Crop. Click and drag inward any of the four corners to crop from any one side. Notice you can still see the area to be cropped out is show in translucent gray. Press and hold the CTRL key while you drag a corner cropping handle inward to crop equally on all four sides. To crop equally on right and left or the top and bottom, press and hold down the CTRL key while you drag the center cropping handle on either side inward. You can further adjust the cropping area by clicking and dragging the picture behind the cropping area. To accept the current dimensions and crop the photo, press escape or click anywhere outside the cropping area. You can manually crop the image to exact dimensions. This can be done by right clicking on the image and entering the dimensions in the Width and Height boxes, or in the Size group on the Format tab.   Crop to a Shape Select your photo and click Crop from the Size group on the Format tab. Select Crop to Shape and choose any of the available shapes. You photo will be cropped into that shape. Using Fit and Fill If you wish to crop a photo but fill the shape, select Fill. When you choose this option, some edges of the picture might not display but the original picture aspect ratio is maintained. If you wish to have all of the picture fit within a shape, choose Fit. The original picture aspect ratio will be maintained.   Conclusion Users moving from previous versions of Microsoft Office are sure to appreciate the improved cropping abilities in Office 2010, especially the ability to see what will and won’t be kept when you crop a photo. • Pixel Perfect Collision Detection in Cocos2dx

    - by Happybirthday
    I am trying to port the pixel perfect collision detection in Cocos2d-x the original version was made for Cocos2D and can be found here: http://www.cocos2d-iphone.org/forums/topic/pixel-perfect-collision-detection-using-color-blending/ Here is my code for the Cocos2d-x version bool CollisionDetection::areTheSpritesColliding(cocos2d::CCSprite *spr1, cocos2d::CCSprite *spr2, bool pp, CCRenderTexture* _rt) { bool isColliding = false; CCRect intersection; CCRect r1 = spr1-boundingBox(); CCRect r2 = spr2-boundingBox(); intersection = CCRectMake(fmax(r1.getMinX(),r2.getMinX()), fmax( r1.getMinY(), r2.getMinY()) ,0,0); intersection.size.width = fmin(r1.getMaxX(), r2.getMaxX() - intersection.getMinX()); intersection.size.height = fmin(r1.getMaxY(), r2.getMaxY() - intersection.getMinY()); // Look for simple bounding box collision if ( (intersection.size.width0) && (intersection.size.height0) ) { // If we're not checking for pixel perfect collisions, return true if (!pp) { return true; } unsigned int x = intersection.origin.x; unsigned int y = intersection.origin.y; unsigned int w = intersection.size.width; unsigned int h = intersection.size.height; unsigned int numPixels = w * h; //CCLog("Intersection X and Y %d, %d", x, y); //CCLog("Number of pixels %d", numPixels); // Draw into the RenderTexture _rt-beginWithClear( 0, 0, 0, 0); // Render both sprites: first one in RED and second one in GREEN glColorMask(1, 0, 0, 1); spr1-visit(); glColorMask(0, 1, 0, 1); spr2-visit(); glColorMask(1, 1, 1, 1); // Get color values of intersection area ccColor4B *buffer = (ccColor4B *)malloc( sizeof(ccColor4B) * numPixels ); glReadPixels(x, y, w, h, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, buffer); _rt-end(); // Read buffer unsigned int step = 1; for(unsigned int i=0; i 0 && color.g 0) { isColliding = true; break; } } // Free buffer memory free(buffer); } return isColliding; } My code is working perfectly if I send the "pp" parameter as false. That is if I do only a bounding box collision but I am not able to get it working correctly for the case when I need Pixel Perfect collision. I think the opengl masking code is not working as I intended. Here is the code for "_rt" _rt = CCRenderTexture::create(visibleSize.width, visibleSize.height); _rt-setPosition(ccp(origin.x + visibleSize.width * 0.5f, origin.y + visibleSize.height * 0.5f)); this-addChild(_rt, 1000000); _rt-setVisible(true); //For testing I think I am making a mistake with the implementation of this CCRenderTexture Can anyone guide me with what I am doing wrong ? Thank you for your time :)

  • Using Lightbox with _Screen

    Although, I have to admit that I discovered Bernard Bout's ideas and concepts about implementing a lightbox in Visual FoxPro quite a while ago, there was no "spare" time in active projects that allowed me to have a closer look into his solution(s). Luckily, these days I received a demand to focus a little bit more on this. This article describes the steps about how to integrate and make use of Bernard's lightbox class in combination with _Screen in Visual FoxPro. The requirement in this project was to be able to visually lock the whole application (_Screen area) and guide the user to an information that should not be ignored easily. Depending on the importance any current user activity should be interrupted and focus put onto the notification. Getting the "meat", eh, source code Please check out Bernard's blog on Foxite directly in order to get the latest and greatest version. As time of writing this article I use version 6.0 as described in this blog entry: The Fastest Lightbox Ever The Lightbox class is sub-classed from the imgCanvas class from the GdiPlusX project on VFPx and therefore you need to have the source code of GdiPlusX as well, and integrate it into your development environment. The version I use is available here: Release GDIPlusX 1.20 As soon as you open the bbGdiLightbox class the first it, VFP might ask you to update the reference to the gdiplusx.vcx. As we have the sources, no problem and you have access to Bernard's code. The class itself is pretty easy to understand, some properties that you do not need to change and three methods: Setup(), ShowLightbox() and BeforeDraw() The challenge - _Screen or not? Reading Bernard's article about the fastest lightbox ever, he states the following: "The class will only work on a form. It will not support any other containers" Really? And what about _Screen? Isn't that a form class, too? Yes, of course it is but nonetheless trying to use _Screen directly will fail. Well, let's have look at the code to see why: WITH This .Left = 0 .Top = 0 .Height = ThisForm.Height .Width = ThisForm.Width .ZOrder(0) .Visible = .F.ENDWITH During the setup of the lightbox as well as while capturing the image as replacement for your forms and controls, the object reference Thisform is used. Which is a little bit restrictive to my opinion but let's continue. The second issue lies in the method ShowLightbox() and introduced by the call of .Bitmap.FromScreen(): Lparameters tlVisiblilty* tlVisiblilty - show or hide (T/F)* grab a screen dump with controlsIF tlVisiblilty Local loCaptureBmp As xfcBitmap Local lnTitleHeight, lnLeftBorder, lnTopBorder, lcImage, loImage lnTitleHeight = IIF(ThisForm.TitleBar = 1,Sysmetric(9),0) lnLeftBorder = IIF(ThisForm.BorderStyle < 2,0,Sysmetric(3)) lnTopBorder = IIF(ThisForm.BorderStyle < 2,0,Sysmetric(4)) With _Screen.System.Drawing loCaptureBmp = .Bitmap.FromScreen(ThisForm.HWnd,; lnLeftBorder,; lnTopBorder+lnTitleHeight,; ThisForm.Width ,; ThisForm.Height) ENDWITH * save it to a property This.capturebmp = loCaptureBmp ThisForm.SetAll("Visible",.F.) This.DraW() This.Visible = .T.ELSE ThisForm.SetAll("Visible",.T.) This.Visible = .F.ENDIF My first trials in using the class ended in an exception - GdiPlusError:OutOfMemory - thrown by the Bitmap object. Frankly speaking, this happened mainly because of my lack of knowledge about GdiPlusX. After reading some documentation, especially about the FromScreen() method I experimented a little bit. Capturing the visible area of _Screen actually was not the real problem but the dimensions I specified for the bitmap. The modifications - step by step First of all, it is to get rid of restrictive object references on Thisform and to change them into either This.Parent or more generic into This.oForm (even better: This.oControl). The Lightbox.Setup() method now sets the necessary object reference like so: *====================================================================* Initial setup* Default value: This.oControl = "This.Parent"* Alternative: This.oControl = "_Screen"*====================================================================With This .oControl = Evaluate(.oControl) If Vartype(.oControl) == T_OBJECT .Anchor = 0 .Left = 0 .Top = 0 .Width = .oControl.Width .Height = .oControl.Height .Anchor = 15 .ZOrder(0) .Visible = .F. EndIfEndwith Also, based on other developers' comments in Bernard articles on his lightbox concept and evolution I found the source code to handle the differences between a form and _Screen and goes into Lightbox.ShowLightbox() like this: *====================================================================* tlVisibility - show or hide (T/F)* grab a screen dump with controls*====================================================================Lparameters tlVisibility Local loControl m.loControl = This.oControl If m.tlVisibility Local loCaptureBmp As xfcBitmap Local lnTitleHeight, lnLeftBorder, lnTopBorder, lcImage, loImage lnTitleHeight = Iif(m.loControl.TitleBar = 1,Sysmetric(9),0) lnLeftBorder = Iif(m.loControl.BorderStyle < 2,0,Sysmetric(3)) lnTopBorder = Iif(m.loControl.BorderStyle < 2,0,Sysmetric(4)) With _Screen.System.Drawing If Upper(m.loControl.Name) == Upper("Screen") loCaptureBmp = .Bitmap.FromScreen(m.loControl.HWnd) Else loCaptureBmp = .Bitmap.FromScreen(m.loControl.HWnd,; lnLeftBorder,; lnTopBorder+lnTitleHeight,; m.loControl.Width ,; m.loControl.Height) EndIf Endwith * save it to a property This.CaptureBmp = loCaptureBmp m.loControl.SetAll("Visible",.F.) This.Draw() This.Visible = .T. Else This.CaptureBmp = .Null. m.loControl.SetAll("Visible",.T.) This.Visible = .F. Endif {loadposition content_adsense} Are we done? Almost... Although, Bernard says it clearly in his article: "Just drop the class on a form and call it as shown." It did not come clear to my mind in the first place with _Screen, but, yeah, he is right. Dropping the class on a form provides a permanent link between those two classes, it creates a valid This.Parent object reference. Bearing in mind that the lightbox class can not be "dropped" on the _Screen, we have to create the same type of binding during runtime execution like so: *====================================================================* Create global lightbox component*==================================================================== Local llOk, loException As Exception m.llOk = .F. m.loException = .Null. If Not Vartype(_Screen.Lightbox) == "O" Try _Screen.AddObject("Lightbox", "bbGdiLightbox") Catch To m.loException Assert .F. Message m.loException.Message EndTry EndIf m.llOk = (Vartype(_Screen.Lightbox) == "O")Return m.llOk Through runtime instantiation we create a valid binding to This.Parent in the lightbox object and the code works as expected with _Screen. Ease your life: Use properties instead of constants Having a closer look at the BeforeDraw() method might wet your appetite to simplify the code a little bit. Looking at the sample screenshots in Bernard's article you see several forms in different colors. This got me to modify the code like so: *====================================================================* Apply the actual lightbox effect on the captured bitmap.*====================================================================If Vartype(This.CaptureBmp) == T_OBJECT Local loGfx As xfcGraphics loGfx = This.oGfx With _Screen.System.Drawing loGfx.DrawImage(This.CaptureBmp,This.Rectangle,This.Rectangle,.GraphicsUnit.Pixel) * change the colours as needed here * possible colours are (220,128,0,0),(220,0,0,128) etc. loBrush = .SolidBrush.New(.Color.FromArgb( ; This.Opacity, .Color.FromRGB(This.BorderColor))) loGfx.FillRectangle(loBrush,This.Rectangle) EndwithEndif Create an additional property Opacity to specify the grade of translucency you would like to have without the need to change the code in each instance of the class. This way you only need to change the values of Opacity and BorderColor to tweak the appearance of your lightbox. This could be quite helpful to signalize different levels of importance (ie. green, yellow, orange, red, etc...) of notifications to the users of the application. Final thoughts Using the lightbox concept in combination with _Screen instead of forms is possible. Already Jim Wiggins comments in Bernard's article to loop through the _Screen.Forms collection in order to cascade the lightbox visibility to all active forms. Good idea. But honestly, I believe that instead of looping all forms one could use _Screen.SetAll("ShowLightbox", .T./.F., "Form") with Form.ShowLightbox_Access method to gain more speed. The modifications described above might provide even more features to your applications while consuming less resources and performance. Additionally, the restrictions to capture only forms does not exist anymore. Using _Screen you are able to capture and cover anything. The captured area of _Screen does not include any toolbars, docked windows, or menus. Therefore, it is advised to take this concept on a higher level and to combine it with additional classes that handle the state of toolbars, docked windows and menus. Which I did for the customer's project.

  • Install Oracle Configuration Manager's Standalone Collector

    - by Get Proactive Customer Adoption Team
    Untitled Document The Why and the How If you have heard of Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM), but haven’t installed it, I’m guessing this is for one of two reasons. Either you don’t know how it helps you or you don’t know how to install it. I’ll address both of those reasons today. First, let’s take a quick look at how My Oracle Support and the Oracle Configuration Manager work together to gain a good understanding of what their differences and roles are before we tackle the install.   Oracle Configuration Manger is the tool that actually performs the data collection task. You deploy this lightweight piece of software into your system to collect configuration information about the system and OCM uploads that data to Oracle’s customer configuration repository. Oracle Support Engineers then have the configuration data available when you file a service request. You can also view the data through My Oracle Support. The real value is that the data Oracle Configuration Manager collects can help you avoid problems and get your Service Requests solved more quickly. When you view the information in My Oracle Support’s user interface to OCM, it may help you avoid situations that create problems. The proactive tools included in Oracle Configuration Manager help you avoid issues before they occur. You also save time because you didn’t need to open a service request. For example, you can use this capability when you need to compare your system configuration at two points in time, or monitor the system health. If you make the configuration data available to Oracle Support Engineers, when you need to open a Service Request the data helps them diagnose and resolve your critical system issues more quickly, which means you get answers more quickly too. Quick Installation Process Overview Before we dive into the step-by-step details, let me provide a quick overview. For some of you, this will be all you need. Log in to My Oracle Support and download the data collector from Collector tab. If you don’t see the Collector tab, click the More tab gain access. On the Collector tab, you will find a drop-down list showing which platforms are available. You can also see more ways to the Collector can help you if you click through the carousel of benefits. After you download the software for your platform, use FTP to move that file (.zip) from your PC to the server that hosts the Oracle software. Once you have that file on the server, locate the $ORACLE_HOME directory, and unzip the file within that directory. You can then use the command line tool to start the installation process. The installation process requires the My Oracle Support credential (Support Identifier, username, and password) Proxy specification (Host IP Address, Port number, username and password) Installation Step-by-Step Download the collector zip file from My Oracle Support and place it into your $Oracle_Home Unzip the zip file you downloaded from My Oracle Support – this will create a directory named CCR with several subdirectories Using the command line go to “$ORACLE_HOME/CCR/bin” and run the following command “setupCCR” Provide your My Oracle Support credential: login, password, and Support Identifier The installer will start deploying the collector application You have installed the Collector Post Installation Now that you have installed successfully, the scheduler is ready to collect configuration information for the software available in your Oracle Home. By default, the first collection will take place the day after the installation. If you want to run an instrumentation script to start the configuration collection of your Oracle Database server, E-Business Suite, or Enterprise Manager, you will find more details on that in the Installation and Administration Guide for My Oracle Support Configuration Manager. • How to Use Sparklines in Excel 2010

    - by DigitalGeekery
    One of the cool features of Excel 2010 is the addition of Sparklines. A Sparkline is basically a little chart displayed in a cell representing your selected data set that allows you to quickly and easily spot trends at a glance. Inserting Sparklines on your Spreadsheet You will find the Sparklines group located on the Insert tab.   Select the cell or cells where you wish to display your Sparklines. Select the type of Sparkline you’d like to add to your spreadsheet. You’ll notice there are three types of Sparklines, Line, Column, and Win/Loss. We’ll select Line for our example. A Create Sparklines pops up and will prompt you to enter a Data Range you are using to create the Sparklines. You’ll notice that the location range (the range where the Sparklines will appear) is already filled in. You can type in the data range manually, or click and drag with your mouse across to select the data range. This will auto-fill the data range for you. Click OK when you are finished.   You will see your Sparklines appear in the desired cells.   Customizing Sparklines Select the one of more of the Sparklines to reveal the Design tab. You can display certain value points like high and low points, negative points, and first and last points by selecting the corresponding options from the Show group. You can also mark all value points by selecting  Markers. Select your desired Sparklines and click one of the included styles from the Style group on the Design tab. Click the down arrow on the lower right corner of the box to display additional pre-defined styles…   or select Sparkline Color or Marker Color options to fully customize your Sparklines. The Axis options allow additional options such as Date Axis Type, Plotting Data Left to Right, and displaying an axis point to represent the zero line in your data with Show Axis. Column Sparklines Column Sparklines display your data in individual columns as opposed to the Line view we’ve been using for our examples. Win/Loss Sparklines Win/Loss shows a basic positive or negative representation of your data set.   You can easily switch between different Sparkline types by simply selecting the current cells (individually or the entire group), and then clicking the desired type on the Design tab. For those that may be more visually oriented, Sparklines can be a wonderful addition to any spreadsheet. Are you just getting started with Office 2010? • How to display values from another website to an new html page?

    - by user3098728
    How to display the value in a new html file from different website? This an example field of values that need to display into new html file and I want to display the said values in the input box (Contract ID) of this page JSFiddle. I have 2 JS code that would display that values, but unfortunately its not working and I dont know how to display that value in html input box. Please help me. Thank you I want to display the said value in this input box: Here the JS file to read the values: function scanLapVerification() { try { var page_title = "Title"; var el = getElement(document, "class", "view-operator-verification-title", ""); if (!el || el.length == 0) return; if (el[0].innerText != page_title) return; var page_title = ''; var el = getElement(document, "class", "workflowActivityDetailPanel", ""); if (el && el.length > 0) { var eltr = getElement(el[0], "tag", "tr", ""); if (eltr && eltr.length > 0) { //Read Contract ID var contractId = { CI: { id: null } }; var con_id = null; for (var i = 0; i < eltr.length; i++) { tr_text = eltr[i].innerText; if (tr_text.substr(0, "Contract ID".length) == "Contract ID") con_id = "CI"; if (con_id && tr_text.substr(0, "Contract ID".length) == "Contract ID") { contractId[con_id].id = tr_text.substr("Contract ID".length + 1, tr_text.length - "Contract ID".length - 1); } } var contract_id = contractId.CI.id; return { content: "cid_check", con_id: con_id }; } return { status: "KO" }; } catch (e) { alert("Exception: scanLapVerification\n" + e.Description); return { status: "KO", message: e }; } }; And here's the 2nd JS that display to a new html page: function scanLapVerification() { chrome.tabs.sendRequest(tabLapVerification, { method: "scanLapVerification" }, function (response) { msgbox("receiveResponse: scanLapVerification " + jsonToString(response, "JSON")); //maintaining state in the background if (response.data.content == "cid_check") { //Popup window features var popupWindow = null; var name; var width = 550; var height = 200; var left = parseInt((screen.availWidth / 2) - (width / 2)); var top = parseInt((screen.availHeight / 2) - (height / 2)); var windowFeatures = "width=" + width + ",height=" + height + ",left=" + left + ",top=" + top + "screenX=" + left + ",screenY=" + top; //Input new address with popup window if (confirm("Does the client has new address?") == true) { popupWindow = window.open('/htmlname.htm', "title", windowFeatures + encodeURIComponent(response.data.contract_id)); popupWindow.focus(); } else { name = ""; } }); }

  • How do I calculate the boundary of the game window after transforming the view?

    - by Cypher
    My Camera class handles zoom, rotation, and of course panning. It's invoked through SpriteBatch.Begin, like so many other XNA 2D camera classes. It calculates the view Matrix like so: public Matrix GetViewMatrix() { return Matrix.Identity * Matrix.CreateTranslation(new Vector3(-this.Spatial.Position, 0.0f)) * Matrix.CreateTranslation(-( this.viewport.Width / 2 ), -( this.viewport.Height / 2 ), 0.0f) * Matrix.CreateRotationZ(this.Rotation) * Matrix.CreateScale(this.Scale, this.Scale, 1.0f) * Matrix.CreateTranslation(this.viewport.Width * 0.5f, this.viewport.Height * 0.5f, 0.0f); } I was having a minor issue with performance, which after doing some profiling, led me to apply a culling feature to my rendering system. It used to, before I implemented the camera's zoom feature, simply grab the camera's boundaries and cull any game objects that did not intersect with the camera. However, after giving the camera the ability to zoom, that no longer works. The reason why is visible in the screenshot below. The navy blue rectangle represents the camera's boundaries when zoomed out all the way (Camera.Scale = 0.5f). So, when zoomed out, game objects are culled before they reach the boundaries of the window. The camera's width and height are determined by the Viewport properties of the same name (maybe this is my mistake? I wasn't expecting the camera to "resize" like this). What I'm trying to calculate is a Rectangle that defines the boundaries of the screen, as indicated by my awesome blue arrows, even after the camera is rotated, scaled, or panned. Here is how I've more recently found out how not to do it: public Rectangle CullingRegion { get { Rectangle region = Rectangle.Empty; Vector2 size = this.Spatial.Size; size *= 1 / this.Scale; Vector2 position = this.Spatial.Position; position = Vector2.Transform(position, this.Inverse); region.X = (int)position.X; region.Y = (int)position.Y; region.Width = (int)size.X; region.Height = (int)size.Y; return region; } } It seems to calculate the right size, but when I render this region, it moves around which will obviously cause problems. It needs to be "static", so to speak. It's also obscenely slow, which causes more of a problem than it solves. What am I missing?

  • SDL_BlitSurface segmentation fault (surfaces aren't null)

    - by Trollkemada
    My app is crashing on SDL_BlitSurface() and i can't figure out why. I think it has something to do with my static object. If you read the code you'll why I think so. This happens when the limits of the map are reached, i.e. (iwidth || jheight). This is the code: Map.cpp (this render) Tile const * Map::getTyle(int i, int j) const { if (i >= 0 && j >= 0 && i < width && j < height) { return data[i][j]; } else { return &Tile::ERROR_TYLE; // This makes SDL_BlitSurface (called later) crash //return new Tile(TileType::ERROR); // This works with not problem (but is memory leak, of course) } } void Map::render(int x, int y, int width, int height) const { //DEBUG("(Rendering...) x: "<<x<<", y: "<<y<<", width: "<<width<<", height: "<<height); int firstI = x / TileType::PIXEL_PER_TILE; int firstJ = y / TileType::PIXEL_PER_TILE; int lastI = (x+width) / TileType::PIXEL_PER_TILE; int lastJ = (y+height) / TileType::PIXEL_PER_TILE; // The previous integer division rounds down when dealing with positive values, but it rounds up // negative values. • Using JQuery to set create a flexible 3 column layout with Divs

    - by Chris Hammond
    This evening I was working on creating a Full Width skin for http://www.sccaforums.com/ , the current skin is at a fixed width, which doesn’t work very well for an active Forum when you have a browser with a high resolution. (The site runs on DotNetNuke , so this post will feature examples for DotNetNuke, but the code is applicable to any HTML pages) Basically I wanted a three column layout, and depending on if there was content in the Left and Right columns, I wanted them to not display at all,...(read more)

  • Loading levels from .txt or .XML for XNA

    - by Dave Voyles
    I'm attemptin to add multiple levels to my pong game. I'd like to simply exchange a few elements with each level, nothing crazy. Just the background texture, the color of the AI paddle (the one on the right side), and the music. It seems that the best way to go about this is by utilizing the StreamReader to read and write the files from XML. If there is a better, or more efficient alternative way then I'm all for it. In looking over the XNA Starter Platformer Kit provided by MS it seems that they've done it in this manner as well. I'm perplexed by a few things, however, namely parts within the Level class which aren't commented. /// <summary> /// Iterates over every tile in the structure file and loads its /// appearance and behavior. This method also validates that the /// file is well-formed with a player start point, exit, etc. /// </summary> /// <param name="fileStream"> /// A stream containing the tile data. /// </param> private void LoadTiles(Stream fileStream) { // Load the level and ensure all of the lines are the same length. int width; List<string> lines = new List<string>(); using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(fileStream)) { string line = reader.ReadLine(); width = line.Length; while (line != null) { lines.Add(line); if (line.Length != width) throw new Exception(String.Format("The length of line {0} is different from all preceeding lines.", lines.Count)); line = reader.ReadLine(); } } What does width = line.Length mean exactly? I mean I know how it reads the line, but what difference does it make if one line is longer than any of the others? Finally, their levels are simply text files that look like this: .................... .................... .................... .................... .................... .................... .................... .........GGG........ .........###........ .................... ....GGG.......GGG... ....###.......###... .................... .1................X. #################### It can't be that easy..... Can it?

  • Keypress detection wont work after seemingly unrelated code change

    - by LukeZaz
    I'm trying to have the Enter key cause a new 'map' to generate for my game, but for whatever reason after implementing full-screen in it the input check won't work anymore. I tried removing the new code and only pressing one key at a time, but it still won't work. Here's the check code and the method it uses, along with the newMap method: public class Game1 : Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game { // ... protected override void Update(GameTime gameTime) { // ... // Check if Enter was pressed - if so, generate a new map if (CheckInput(Keys.Enter, 1)) { blocks = newMap(map, blocks, console); } // ... } // Method: Checks if a key is/was pressed public bool CheckInput(Keys key, int checkType) { // Get current keyboard state KeyboardState newState = Keyboard.GetState(); bool retType = false; // Return type if (checkType == 0) { // Check Type: Is key currently down? if (newState.IsKeyDown(key)) { retType = true; } else { retType = false; } } else if (checkType == 1) { // Check Type: Was the key pressed? if (newState.IsKeyDown(key)) { if (!oldState.IsKeyDown(key)) { // Key was just pressed retType = true; } else { // Key was already pressed, return false retType = false; } } } // Save keyboard state oldState = newState; // Return result if (retType == true) { return true; } else { return false; } } // Method: Generate a new map public List<Block> newMap(Map map, List<Block> blockList, Console console) { // Create new map block coordinates List<Vector2> positions = new List<Vector2>(); positions = map.generateMap(console); // Clear list and reallocate memory previously used up by it blockList.Clear(); blockList.TrimExcess(); // Add new blocks to the list using positions created by generateMap() foreach (Vector2 pos in positions) { blockList.Add(new Block() { Position = pos, Texture = dirtTex }); } // Return modified list return blockList; } // ... } and the generateMap code: // Generate a list of Vector2 positions for blocks public List<Vector2> generateMap(Console console, int method = 0) { ScreenTileWidth = gDevice.Viewport.Width / 16; ScreenTileHeight = gDevice.Viewport.Height / 16; maxHeight = gDevice.Viewport.Height; List<Vector2> blockLocations = new List<Vector2>(); if (useScreenSize == true) { Width = ScreenTileWidth; Height = ScreenTileHeight; } else { maxHeight = Height; } int startHeight = -500; // For debugging purposes, the startHeight is set to an // hopefully-unreachable value - if it returns this, something is wrong // Methods of land generation /// <summary> /// Third version land generation /// Generates a base land height as the second version does /// but also generates a 'max change' value which determines how much /// the land can raise or lower by which it now does by a random amount /// during generation /// </summary> if (method == 0) { // Get the land height startHeight = rnd.Next(1, maxHeight); int maxChange = rnd.Next(1, 5); // Amount ground will raise/lower by int curHeight = startHeight; for (int w = 0; w < Width; w++) { // Run a chance to lower/raise ground level int changeBy = rnd.Next(1, maxChange); int doChange = rnd.Next(0, 3); if (doChange == 1 && !(curHeight <= (1 + maxChange))) { curHeight = curHeight - changeBy; } else if (doChange == 2 && !(curHeight >= (29 - maxChange))) { curHeight = curHeight + changeBy; } for (int h = curHeight; h < Height; h++) { // Location variables float x = w * 16; float y = h * 16; blockLocations.Add(new Vector2(x, y)); } } console.newMsg("[INFO] Cur, height change maximum: " + maxChange.ToString()); } /// <summary> /// Second version land generator /// Generates a solid mass of land starting at a random height /// derived from either screen height or provided height value /// </summary> else if (method == 1) { // Get the land height startHeight = rnd.Next(0, 30); for (int w = 0; w < Width; w++) { for (int h = startHeight; h < ScreenTileHeight; h++) { // Location variables float x = w * 16; float y = h * 16; // Add a tile at set location blockLocations.Add(new Vector2(x, y)); } } } /// <summary> /// First version land generator /// Generates land completely randomly either across screen or /// in a box set by Width and Height values /// </summary> else { // For each tile in the map... for (int w = 0; w < Width; w++) { for (int h = 0; h < Height; h++) { // Location variables float x = w * 16; float y = h * 16; // ...decide whether or not to place a tile... if (rnd.Next(0, 2) == 1) { // ...and if so, add a tile at that location. blockLocations.Add(new Vector2(x, y)); } } } } console.newMsg("[INFO] Cur, base height: " + startHeight.ToString()); return blockLocations; } I never touched any of the above code for this when it broke - changing keys won't seem to fix it. Despite this, I have camera movement set inside another Game1 method that uses WASD and works perfectly. All I did was add a few lines of code here: private int BackBufferWidth = 1280; // Added these variables private int BackBufferHeight = 800; public Game1() { graphics = new GraphicsDeviceManager(this); graphics.PreferredBackBufferWidth = BackBufferWidth; // and this graphics.PreferredBackBufferHeight = BackBufferHeight; // this Content.RootDirectory = "Content"; this.graphics.IsFullScreen = true; // and this } When I try adding a console line to be printed in the event the key is pressed, it seems that the If is never even triggered despite the correct key being pressed.

  • Precise Touch Screen Dragging Issue: Trouble Aligning with the Finger due to Different Screen Resolution

    - by David Dimalanta
    Please, I need your help. I'm trying to make a game that will drag-n-drop a sprite/image while my finger follows precisely with the image without being offset. When I'm trying on a 900x1280 (in X [900] and Y [1280]) screen resolution of the Google Nexus 7 tablet, it follows precisely. However, if I try testing on a phone smaller than 900x1280, my finger and the image won't aligned properly and correctly except it still dragging. This is the code I used for making a sprite dragging with my finger under touchDragged(): x = ((screenX + Gdx.input.getX())/2) - (fruit.width/2); y = ((camera_2.viewportHeight * multiplier) - ((screenY + Gdx.input.getY())/2) - (fruit.width/2)); This code above will make the finger and the image/sprite stays together in place while dragging but only works on 900x1280. You'll be wondering there's camera_2.viewportHeight in my code. Here are for two reasons: to prevent inverted drag (e.g. when you swipe with your finger downwards, the sprite moves upward instead) and baseline for reading coordinate...I think. Now when I'm adding another orthographic camera named camera_1 and changing its setting, I recently used it for adjusting the falling object by meter per pixel. Also, it seems effective independently for smartphones that has smaller resolution and this is what I used here: show() camera_1 = new OrthographicCamera(); camera_1.viewportHeight = 280; // --> I set it to a smaller view port height so that the object would fall faster, decreasing the chance of drag force. camera_1.viewportWidth = 196; // --> Make it proportion to the original screen view size as possible. camera_1.position.set(camera_1.viewportWidth * 0.5f, camera_1.viewportHeight * 0.5f, 0f); camera_1.update(); touchDragged() x = ((screenX + (camera_1.viewportWidth/Gdx.input.getX()))/2) - (fruit.width/2); y = ((camera_1.viewportHeight * multiplier) - ((screenY + (camera_1.viewportHeight/Gdx.input.getY()))/2) - (fruit.width/2)); But the result instead of just following the image/sprite closely to my finger, it still has a space/gap between the sprite/image and the finger. It is possibly dependent on coordinates based on the screen resolution. I'm trying to drag the blueberry sprite with my finger. My expectation did not met since I want my finger and the sprite/image (blueberry) to stay close together while dragging until I release it. Here's what it looks like: I got to figure it out how to make independent on all screen sizes by just following the image/sprite closely to my finger while dragging even on most different screen sizes instead.

  • boxes adding up to 100% of the browser [closed]

    - by Michael
    I want to have 2 boxes right next to each other, one with a fixed width, and another with a width that will change based on the size of the browser. The box has overflow:auto, and I'm trying to get the first box to act as a side bar that will follow you down the page. But of course I can't seem to achieve this, and have come here hoping someone could give me some examples, or point me in the right direction. Thanks!

  • Current State EA: Focus on the Integration!!!

    - by Eric A. Stephens
    A recent project has me at the front end of a large implementation effort covering multiple software components. In addition to the challenges of integrating 15-20 separate and new software components there is the challenge of integrating the portfolio into an existing environment. Like other clients I've worked with and other environments I've worked in for many years, this is typical. The applications are undocumented and under patched leading to a mystery for any architect leading change.  We can boil down most architecture development methodologies (ADM) into first understanding the current/baseline state and then envisioning one or more future states. Many pundits emphasize the need to focus on the future/target states. I agree since enterprise architecture (EA) is about where you are going and not so much where you have been. But to be effective in the future, I contend some focused time needs to be spent on the current state. And specifically on the integration. Integration is always the difficult part of a project (I might put it more coarsely at a cocktail party). While I don't have a case study, my anecdotal experience suggests poorly integrated application portfolios tend to cost more to operate and create entropy when trying to respond to new changes and opportunities. In the aforementioned project, I was able to get one of our EAs assigned to focus on just integration almost immediately. While we're still early in the process, this EA is uncovering all sorts of information that will greatly assist our future state planning for this solution. • How to automatically resize the Dash when screen dimensions change?

    - by St.W.
    I use a convertible thinkpad (x201t) and magick-rotation to rotate the screen by 90 degrees in tablet mode. Therefore after rotation the screen's width is only 800 points (the ordinary resolution is 1200x800). The Dash does not adapt to this new state and therefore if I click on it, it is oversized and I cannot reach the applications/files/buttons on its side. Is there a way to tell the Dash that it should only ever use a width of 800 pixels, or any other solution to automatically adapt its size when rotating?
