  • TableView Cells Use Whole Screen Height

    - by Kyle
    I read through this tutorial Appcelerator: Using JSON to Build a Twitter Client and attempted to create my own simple application to interact with a Jetty server I setup running some Spring code. I basically call a get http request that gives me a bunch of contacts in JSON format. I then populate several rows with my JSON data and try to build a TableView. All of that works, however, my tableView rows take up the whole screen. Each row is one screen. I can scroll up and down and see all my data, but I'm trying to figure out what's wrong in my styling that's making the cells use the whole screen. My CSS is not great, so any help is appreciated. Thanks! Here's my js file that's loading the tableView: // create variable "win" to refer to current window var win = Titanium.UI.currentWindow; // Function loadContacts() function loadContacts() { // empty array "rowData" for table view cells var rowData = []; // create http client var loader = Titanium.Network.createHTTPClient(); // set http request method and url loader.setRequestHeader("Accept", "application/json"); loader.open("GET", "http://localhost:8080/contactsample/contacts"); // run the function when the data is ready for us to process loader.onload = function(){ Ti.API.debug("JSON Data: " + this.responseText); // evaluate json var contacts = JSON.parse(this.responseText); for(var i=0; i < contacts.length; i++) { var id = contacts[i].id; Ti.API.info("JSON Data, Row[" + i + "], ID: " + contacts[i].id); var name = contacts[i].name; Ti.API.info("JSON Data, Row[" + i + "], Name: " + contacts[i].name); var phone = contacts[i].phone; Ti.API.info("JSON Data, Row[" + i + "], Phone: " + contacts[i].phone); var address = contacts[i].address; Ti.API.info("JSON Data, Row[" + i + "], Address: " + contacts[i].address); // create row var row = Titanium.UI.createTableViewRow({ height:'auto' }); // create row's view var contactView = Titanium.UI.createView({ height:'auto', layout:'vertical', top:5, right:5, bottom:5, left:5 }); var nameLbl = Titanium.UI.createLabel({ text:name, left:5, height:24, width:236, textAlign:'left', color:'#444444', font:{ fontFamily:'Trebuchet MS', fontSize:16, fontWeight:'bold' } }); var phoneLbl = Titanium.UI.createLabel({ text: phone, top:0, bottom:2, height:'auto', width:236, textAlign:'right', font:{ fontSize:14} }); var addressLbl = Titanium.UI.createLabel({ text: address, top:0, bottom:2, height:'auto', width:236, textAlign:'right', font:{ fontSize:14} }); contactView.add(nameLbl); contactView.add(phoneLbl); contactView.add(addressLbl); row.add(contactView); row.className = "item" + i; rowData.push(row); } Ti.API.info("RowData: " + rowData); // create table view var tableView = Titanium.UI.createTableView( { data: rowData }); win.add(tableView); }; // send request loader.send(); } // get contacts loadContacts(); And here are some screens showing my problem. I tried playing with the top, bottom, right, left pixels a bit and didn't seem to be getting anywhere. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • How to Create and Manage Contact Groups in Outlook 2010

    - by Mysticgeek
    If you find you’re sending emails to the same people all the time during the day, it’s tedious entering in their addresses individually. Today we take a look at creating Contact Groups to make the process a lot easier. Create Contact Groups Open Outlook and click on New Items \ More Items \ Contact Group. This opens the Contract Group window. Give your group a name, click on Add Members, and select the people you want to add from your Outlook Contacts, Address Book, or Create new ones. If you select from your address book you can scroll through and add the contacts you want. If you have a large amount of contacts you might want to search for them or use Advanced Find. If you want to add a new email contact to your group, you’ll just need to enter in their display name and email address then click OK. If you want the new member added to your Contacts list then make sure Add to Contacts is checked. After you have the contacts you want in the group, click Save & Close. Now when you compose a message you should be able to type in the name of the Contact Group you created… If you want to make sure you have everyone included in the group, click on the plus icon to expand the contacts. You will get a dialog box telling you the members of the group will be shown and you cannot collapse it again. Check the box not to see the message again then click OK. Then the members of the group will appear in the To field. Of course you can enter a Contact Group into the CC or Bcc fields as well. Add or Remove Members to a Contact Group After expanding the group you might notice some contacts aren’t included, or there is an old contact you don’t want to be in the group anymore. Click on the To button… Right-click on the Contact Group and select Properties. Now you can go ahead and Add Members… Or highlight a member and remove them…when finished click Save & Close. If you need to send emails to several of the same people, creating Contact Groups is a great way to save time by not entering them individually. If you work in for a large company, creating Contact Groups by department is a must! • Android - How do I load a contact Photo?

    - by PaulH
    I'm having trouble loading a photo for a contact in Android. I've googled for an answer, but so far have come up empty. Does anyone have an example of querying for a Contact, then loading the Photo? So, given a contactUri which comes from an Activity result called using startActivityForResult(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK,ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTENT_URI),PICK_CONTACT_REQUEST) is: content://com.android.contacts/data/1557 The loadContact(..) works fine. However when I call the getPhoto(...) method, I get a null value for the photo InputStream. It is also confusing because the URI values are different. The contactPhotoUri evaluates to: content://com.android.contacts/contacts/1557 See the comments inline in the code below. class ContactAccessor { /** * Retrieves the contact information. */ public ContactInfo loadContact(ContentResolver contentResolver, Uri contactUri) { //contactUri --> content://com.android.contacts/data/1557 ContactInfo contactInfo = new ContactInfo(); // Load the display name for the specified person Cursor cursor = contentResolver.query(contactUri, new String[]{Contacts._ID, Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME, Phone.NUMBER, Contacts.PHOTO_ID}, null, null, null); try { if (cursor.moveToFirst()) { contactInfo.setId(cursor.getLong(0)); contactInfo.setDisplayName(cursor.getString(1)); contactInfo.setPhoneNumber(cursor.getString(2)); } } finally { cursor.close(); } return contactInfo; // <-- returns info for contact } public Bitmap getPhoto(ContentResolver contentResolver, Long contactId) { Uri contactPhotoUri = ContentUris.withAppendedId(Contacts.CONTENT_URI, contactId); // contactPhotoUri --> content://com.android.contacts/contacts/1557 InputStream photoDataStream = Contacts.openContactPhotoInputStream(contentResolver,contactPhotoUri); // <-- always null Bitmap photo = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(photoDataStream); return photo; } public class ContactInfo { private long id; private String displayName; private String phoneNumber; private Uri photoUri; public void setDisplayName(String displayName) { this.displayName = displayName; } public String getDisplayName() { return displayName; } public void setPhoneNumber(String phoneNumber) { this.phoneNumber = phoneNumber; } public String getPhoneNumber() { return phoneNumber; } public Uri getPhotoUri() { return this.photoUri; } public void setPhotoUri(Uri photoUri) { this.photoUri = photoUri; } public long getId() { return this.id; } public void setId(long id) { this.id = id; } } } Clearly, I'm doing something wrong here, but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanks.

  • Need help tuning Mysql and linux server

    - by Newtonx
    We have multi-user application (like MailChimp,Constant Contact) . Each of our customers has it's own contact's list (from 5 to 100.000 contacts). Everything is stored in one BIG database (currently 25G). Since we released our product we have the following data history. 5 years of data history : - users/customers (200+) - contacts (40 million records) - campaigns - campaign_deliveries (73.843.764 records) - campaign_queue ( 8 millions currently ) As we get more users and table records increase our system/web app is getting slower and slower . Some queries takes too long to execute . SCHEMA Table contacts --------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +---------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | contact_id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | client_id | int(10) unsigned | YES | | NULL | | | name | varchar(60) | YES | | NULL | | | mail | varchar(60) | YES | MUL | NULL | | | verified | int(1) | YES | | 0 | | | owner | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | 0 | | | date_created | date | YES | MUL | NULL | | | geolocation | varchar(100) | YES | | NULL | | | ip | varchar(20) | YES | MUL | NULL | | +---------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ Table campaign_deliveries +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(11) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | newsletter_id | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | 0 | | | contact_id | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | 0 | | | sent_date | date | YES | MUL | NULL | | | sent_time | time | YES | MUL | NULL | | | smtp_server | varchar(20) | YES | | NULL | | | owner | int(5) | YES | MUL | NULL | | | ip | varchar(20) | YES | MUL | NULL | | +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ Table campaign_queue +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | queue_id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | newsletter_id | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | 0 | | | owner | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | 0 | | | date_to_send | date | YES | | NULL | | | contact_id | int(11) | NO | MUL | NULL | | | date_created | date | YES | | NULL | | +---------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ Slow queries LOG -------------------------------------------- Query_time: 350 Lock_time: 1 Rows_sent: 1 Rows_examined: 971004 SELECT COUNT(*) as total FROM contacts WHERE (contacts.owner = 70 AND contacts.verified = 1); Query_time: 235 Lock_time: 1 Rows_sent: 1 Rows_examined: 4455209 SELECT COUNT(*) as total FROM contacts WHERE (contacts.owner = 2); How can we optimize it ?   • How to get contacts in order of they upcoming birthdays?

    - by Pentium10
    I have code to read contacts details and to read birthday. But how do I get a list of contacts in order of they upcoming birthday? For a single contact identified by id I get details and birthday like this. Cursor c = null; try { Uri uri = ContentUris.withAppendedId( ContactsContract.Contacts.CONTENT_URI, id); c = ctx.getContentResolver().query(uri, null, null, null, null); if (c != null) { if (c.moveToFirst()) { DatabaseUtils.cursorRowToContentValues(c, data); } } c.close(); // read birthday c = ctx.getContentResolver() .query( Data.CONTENT_URI, new String[] { Event.DATA }, Data.CONTACT_ID + "=" + id + " AND " + Data.MIMETYPE + "= '" + Event.CONTENT_ITEM_TYPE + "' AND " + Event.TYPE + "=" + Event.TYPE_BIRTHDAY, null, Data.DISPLAY_NAME); if (c != null) { try { if (c.moveToFirst()) { this.setBirthday(c.getString(0)); } } finally { c.close(); } } return super.load(id); } catch (Exception e) { Log.v(TAG(), e.getMessage(), e); e.printStackTrace(); return false; } finally { if (c != null) c.close(); }

  • How can I use a single-table inheritance and single controller to make this more DRY?

    - by Angela
    I have three models, Calls, Emails, and Letters and those are basically templates of what gets sent to individuals, modeled as Contacts. When a Call is made, a row in model in ContactCalls gets created. If an Email is sent, an entry in ContactEmails is made. Each has its own controller: contact_calls_controller.rb and contact_emails_controller.rb. I would like to create a single table inheritance called ContactEvents which has types Calls, Emails, and Letters. But I'm not clear how I pass the type information or how to consolidate the controllers. Here's the two controllers I have, as you can see, there's alot of duplication, but some differences that needs to be preserved. In the case of letter and postcards (another Model), it's even more so. class ContactEmailsController < ApplicationController def new @contact_email = ContactEmail.new @contact_email.contact_id = params[:contact] @contact_email.email_id = params[:email] @contact = Contact.find(params[:contact]) @company = Company.find(@contact.company_id) contacts = @company.contacts.collect(&:full_name) contacts.each do |contact| @colleagues = contacts.reject{ |c| [email protected]_name } end @email = Email.find(@contact_email.email_id) @contact_email.subject = @email.subject @contact_email.body = @email.message @email.message.gsub!("{FirstName}", @contact.first_name) @email.message.gsub!("{Company}", @contact.company_name) @email.message.gsub!("{Colleagues}", @colleagues.to_sentence) @email.message.gsub!("{NextWeek}", (Date.today + 7.days).strftime("%A, %B %d")) @contact_email.status = "sent" end def create @contact_email = ContactEmail.new(params[:contact_email]) @contact = Contact.find_by_id(@contact_email.contact_id) @email = Email.find_by_id(@contact_email.email_id) if @contact_email.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully created contact email." # send email using class in outbound_mailer.rb OutboundMailer.deliver_campaign_email(@contact,@contact_email) redirect_to todo_url else render :action => 'new' end end AND: class ContactCallsController < ApplicationController def new @contact_call = ContactCall.new @contact_call.contact_id = params[:contact] @contact_call.call_id = params[:call] @contact_call.status = params[:status] @contact = Contact.find(params[:contact]) @company = Company.find(@contact.company_id) @contact = Contact.find(@contact_call.contact_id) @call = Call.find(@contact_call.call_id) @contact_call.title = @call.title contacts = @company.contacts.collect(&:full_name) contacts.each do |contact| @colleagues = contacts.reject{ |c| [email protected]_name } end @contact_call.script = @call.script @call.script.gsub!("{FirstName}", @contact.first_name) @call.script.gsub!("{Company}", @contact.company_name ) @call.script.gsub!("{Colleagues}", @colleagues.to_sentence) end def create @contact_call = ContactCall.new(params[:contact_call]) if @contact_call.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully created contact call." redirect_to contact_path(@contact_call.contact_id) else render :action => 'new' end end

  • Can I use Google Apps for mail but Exchange for calendar, tasks & contacts?

    - by RexE
    My parents' domain is registered with Google Apps (standard edition). Currently, the only service they are using is email (which they access via IMAP in Outlook). I'd like to register this same domain with a hosted Exchange service so that they can sync their Exchange calendar, tasks, and contacts with Outlook as well. I'd like to keep their email on Google for a couple of reasons. Is this possible?

  • Problem fetching contacts from Yahoo! Address Book using PHP's CURL.

    - by Ravi
    Hi I had to get the user's yahoo address book using PHP's CURL when user gave login name and password. It was working fine. Address book has been got as CSV format. But now suddenly things are stop working. I am just getting some yahoo's html code instead of CSV format. I am guessing that yahoo is somehow restricted fetching address book using CURL. I did one experiment that I manually did the import contacts from Yahoo service. Before importing contacts yahoo shown the CAPTCHA to verify. I guess this CAPTCHA mechanism is recently added. Is this CAPTCHA mechanism preventing to get the address book when I am using PHP's CURL? Actually I do not want get address book using Yahoo OAuth or BBAuth. Any one have idea?

  • can Yahoo and Hotmail contacts api be used without leaving the site?

    - by Dr.Dredel
    I might be missing something but I'm trying to implement a contacts retrieval mechanism akin to the one that is offered by Google for Yahoo and Hotmail. Both APIs seem to require the user to actually go to their sites to log in. The documentation is really convoluted for both. I was hoping someone has done this and can point me to a simple way (if there is one) to allow the user to log in directly in my app and then for me to go and fetch their contacts for them (preferably in XML, but JSON would also do nicely). I currently have a Perl script that goes and gets the gmail stuff and works very nicely. I was (maybe wildly optimistically) hoping that Yahoo and Microsoft would have similarly useful mechanisms.

What wrong am I doing?

  • How can I make three partials into just one in rails where the :collection is the same?

    - by Angela
    I have three partials that I'd like to consolidate into one. They share the same collection, but each gets passed its own :local variable. Those variables are used for specific Models, so as a result, I have three different calls to the partial and three different partials. Here's the repetitive code: <% for email in campaign.emails %> <h4><%= link_to email.title, email %> <%= email.days %> days</h4> <% @contacts= campaign.contacts.find(:all, :order => "date_entered ASC" )%> <!--contacts collection--> <!-- render the information for each contact --> <%= render :partial => "contact_email", :collection => @contacts, :locals => {:email => email} %> <% end %> Calls in this Campaign: <% for call in campaign.calls %> <h4><%= link_to call.title, call %> <%= call.days %> days</h4> <% @contacts= campaign.contacts.find(:all, :order => "date_entered ASC" )%> <!--contacts collection--> <!-- render the information for each contact --> <%= render :partial => "contact_call", :collection => @contacts, :locals => {:call => call} %> <% end %> Letters in this Campaign: <% for letter in campaign.letters %> <h4><%= link_to letter.title, letter %> <%= letter.days %> days</h4> <% @contacts= campaign.contacts.find(:all, :order => "date_entered ASC" )%> <!--contacts collection--> <!-- render the information for each contact --> <%= render :partial => "contact_letter", :collection => @contacts, :locals => {:letter => letter} %> <% end %> An example of one of the partials is as follows: < div id="contact_email_partial"> <% if from_today(contact_email, email.days) < 0 %> <% if show_status(contact_email, email) == 'no status'%> <p> <%= full_name(contact_email) %> <% unless contact_email.statuses.empty?%> (<%= contact_email.statuses.find(:last).status%>) <% end %> is <%= from_today(contact_email,email.days).abs%> days overdue: <%= do_event(contact_email, email) %> <%= link_to_remote "Skip Email Remote", :url => skip_contact_email_url(contact_email,email), :update => "update-area-#{contact_email.id}-#{email.id}" %> <span id='update-area-<%="#{contact_email.id}-#{email.id}"%>'> </span> <% end %> <% end %> </div>

  • Using outer query result in a subquery in postgresql

    - by brad
    I have two tables points and contacts and I'm trying to get the average points.score per contact grouped on a monthly basis. Note that points and contacts aren't related, I just want the sum of points created in a month divided by the number of contacts that existed in that month. So, I need to sum points grouped by the created_at month, and I need to take the count of contacts FOR THAT MONTH ONLY. It's that last part that's tricking me up. I'm not sure how I can use a column from an outer query in the subquery. I tried something like this: SELECT SUM(score) AS points_sum, EXTRACT(month FROM created_at) AS month, date_trunc('MONTH', created_at) + INTERVAL '1 month' AS next_month, (SELECT COUNT(id) FROM contacts WHERE contacts.created_at <= next_month) as contact_count FROM points GROUP BY month, next_month ORDER BY month So, I'm extracting the actual month that my points are being summed, and at the same time, getting the beginning of the next_month so that I can say "Get me the count of contacts where their created at is < next_month" But it complains that column next_month doesn't exist This is understandable as the subquery knows nothing about the outer query. Qualifying with points.next_month doesn't work either. So can someone point me in the right direction of how to achieve this? Tables: Points score | created_at 10 | "2011-11-15 21:44:00.363423" 11 | "2011-10-15 21:44:00.69667" 12 | "2011-09-15 21:44:00.773289" 13 | "2011-08-15 21:44:00.848838" 14 | "2011-07-15 21:44:00.924152" Contacts id | created_at 6 | "2011-07-15 21:43:17.534777" 5 | "2011-08-15 21:43:17.520828" 4 | "2011-09-15 21:43:17.506452" 3 | "2011-10-15 21:43:17.491848" 1 | "2011-11-15 21:42:54.759225" sum, month and next_month (without the subselect) sum | month | next_month 14 | 7 | "2011-08-01 00:00:00" 13 | 8 | "2011-09-01 00:00:00" 12 | 9 | "2011-10-01 00:00:00" 11 | 10 | "2011-11-01 00:00:00" 10 | 11 | "2011-12-01 00:00:00"

  • Oracle syntax - should we have to choose between the old and the new?

    - by Martin Milan
    Hi, I work on a code base in the region of about 1'000'000 lines of source, in a team of around eight developers. Our code is basically an application using an Oracle database, but the code has evolved over time (we have plenty of source code from the mid nineties in there!). A dispute has arisen amongst the team over the syntax that we are using for querying the Oracle database. At the moment, the overwhelming majority of our queries use the "old" Oracle Syntax for joins, meaning we have code that looks like this... Example of Inner Join select customers.*, orders.date, orders.value from customers, orders where customers.custid = orders.custid Example of Outer Join select customers.custid, contacts.ContactName, contacts.ContactTelNo from customers, contacts where customers.custid = contacts.custid(+) As new developers have joined the team, we have noticed that some of them seem to prefer using SQL-92 queries, like this: Example of Inner Join select customers.*, orders.date, orders.value from customers inner join orders on (customers.custid = orders.custid) Example of Outer Join select customers.custid, contacts.ContactName, contacts.ContactTelNo from customers left join contacts on (customers.custid = contacts.custid) Group A say that everyone should be using the the "old" syntax - we have lots of code in this format, and we ought to value consistency. We don't have time to go all the way through the code now rewriting database queries, and it wouldn't pay us if we had. They also point out that "this is the way we've always done it, and we're comfortable with it..." Group B however say that they agree that we don't have the time to go back and change existing queries, we really ought to be adopting the "new" syntax on code that we write from here on in. They say that developers only really look at a single query at a time, and that so long as developers know both syntax there is nothing to be gained from rigidly sticking to the old syntax, which might be deprecated at some point in the future. Without declaring with which group my loyalties lie, I am interested in hearing the opinions of impartial observers - so let the games commence! Martin. Ps. I've made this a community wiki so as not to be seen as just blatantly chasing after question points...
