  • Exchange 2007 Receive E-Mail for other Domains

    My organisation has Exchange 2007 e-mail server, and now, we want to host e-mail service for other organisation (neworg.com) I added new Authoritative Active Domain neworg.com, but when adding a new mailbox, there is no option to chose new SMTP domain name neworg.com, and I can't add new user with SMTP domain [email protected]. Probably I misunderstood something while reading posts on Internet, but can someone help please?

  • Exchange Disconnecting on EHLO with remote telnet

    When I go to the local terminal on my Exchange box (SBS 2008) I can do this: telnet 127.0.0.1 25 220 Exchange banner here EHLO example.com 250 Server name However when I go from another box, or from the actual IP of the server I get this: telnet 192.168.21.20 25 220 Exchange banner here EHLO example.com 421 4.4.1 Connection timed out Connection to host lost. The odd thing is, this server is currently in production and working fine (receiving mail for our entire domain). But my C# programs can't send mail to it (they get this same error). Any ideas?

    Hello. I have a question. We have one Exchange 2003 server and two Exchange 2007 servers. Most all of our mailboxes are on 2007 but we do still have one shared mailbox, unity mailbox and a journling mailbox on 2003. Public Folders have been set to replicate to 2007. I have set up a send connector on 2007 with a cost of 1. Receive connectors have Anonymous Users checked on 2007. On 2003 there are two connectors: the Internet Email connector and the connector that connects 2003 to 2007. We have a SPAM filtering device that email goes through before it is handed off to Exchange. The SPAM filtering device is set to send email to one of our Exchange 2007 servers. Here is my question/problem: Even though the SPAM filtering device is set to forward email to Exchange 2007, somehow all of our email is still going through the Exchange 2003 server before it finally hits the users mailboxes on the Exchange 2007 server. How can I change it so that all email goes directly to Exchange 2007 and never routes through Excahnge 2003 both ways, inbound and outbound? Would also like to add: In the EMC under Org- Hub- Send Connector there are two connectors. One is the "Internet Connector" from the 2003 box and the other is the new one I created. THe address space on the 2003 one is set to a cost of 2, no smart hosts and the 2003 box is listed as the Source Server. THe other Send Connector has an address space of 1, no smart host and has the 2 excahnge 2007 servers listed as the source servers. In EMC under Server- Hub- my two exchange 2007 servers are listed. Each one has 2 receive connectors. Both Recieve Connectors are setup the same way. THe Default Receive Connector has Anonymous Users checked. The other Recieve Connector is labled "Client" and I am not sure what it does or why its there. Anonymous Users are not checked. No smart hosts configured on 2003. Additional details Currently we have 3 excahnge servers. One exchange 2003 server and two excahnge 2007 servers. THe exchange 2003 server is the acting "bridgehead" serverand all email is routing through this server, inbound and outbound. We are wanting to decommission this server and use our two exchange 2007 servers as our mailbox servers. All of of user mailboxes are already on one of the exchange 2007 boxes and we want to put whats left on the exchange 2003 box on our other excahnge 2007 box. Both excahnge 2007 servers are currently CAS, HT and MB servers. We have a SPAM filtering device that sits between our excahnge servers and the firewall and have it configured to send messages to one of the excahgne 2007 servers but when we look at the message headers we can see that messgaes are still being routed to the excahnge 2003 box. We want to bypass the exchange 2003 in the routing process as it is dying and is starting to have major issues so everytime it goes down our email is down. Is there possible some sort of AD routing link/site link stuff going on?

  • Exchange Server 2010: move mailboxes from recoveded and mounted edb to user’s mailbox

    One of our exchange servers crashed, and I am trying to recover the mailboxes. We had 1 exchange 2003 server named "apex" and 1 exchange 2010 server named "2008Enterprise. the exchange 2010 server named "2008Enterprise" crashed. I created a new exchange 2010 server named "Providence". I ran the command on Providence: New-MailboxDatabase -Recovery -Name JBCMail -Server Providence -EdbFilePath "c:\data\Exchange\Mailbox\Mailbox Database 0579285147\Mailbox Database 0579285147.edb" -LogFolderPath "c:\data\Exchange\Mailbox\Mailbox Database 0579285147" this command executed and finished without error I then ran the command: eseutil /p E00 this command was executed from the below directory: c:\data\Exchange\Mailbox\Mailbox Database 0579285147 I then mounted the JBCMail with the mount command note: I do not have my full typed command. Inside my Exchange Management Console (EMC) I can view the new mailbox database named JBCMail. The JBCMail database is show as mounted on the exchange server named Providence. I can see the crashed Exchange server named 2008Exchange. In the EMC the crashed exchange server states the Copy Status under ServerConfiguration-Mailbox is ServiceDown. From here I need to recover three mailboxes The mail boxes are on the apex server. How do I move the mailboxs from apex to Providence? How do I restore the mailboxes from JBCmail mounted database to the user's mailbox? I do not fully understand how to use the Restore-Mailbox command because when I use this command it tries to restore the mailbox to the dead apex server.   • Disk I/O error copying a Exchange 2007 database

    Hi all, A short time ago due to disk space I moved our Exchange database onto an external drive, the drive was new and the database was being backed up daily. I've now discovered the database is corrupt, I've run the Exchange utils to fix the database and this works but it corrupts again as soon as I try to move it. I need to get it off the disk, any suggestions? I'm also trying to restore the last good database but I'd like try to get the database off this disk, any suggestions? PS I know putting the db on an external disk was a bad move, I had no where else to put it :-( Thanks

  • Exchange migration to 2007 making Outlook 2003 unable to read meeting requests

    Hi, We are currently moving from Exchange 2003 to 2007 (8.2 build 176.2). We have encounted an issue with one user. In Outlook 2003 when getting a meeting request: "Can't open this item. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are nto valid." The item cannot be previewed in the reading pane either. The item can be viewed in OWA and iPhone fine. I've tried with cache mode off and on. Different computers. Same issue. There are the following entries on the account: SMTP [email protected] [email protected] X400 C=AU;A= ;P=Company Name;O=Exchange;S=LastName;G=FirstName; I'm loathe to recreate the account. This will be an extreme last resort. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Need Workaround for Outlook 2007 HTML Email Rendering Bug (Horizontal Gaps)

    My html email newsletter design doesn't render properly in Outlook 2007. There is a white horizontal gap towards the bottom which breaks borders and backgrounds. I've had this happen before and have no idea how to work around it. Any suggestions? I've posted the source here. It renders just fine except in Outlook 2007 (Word 2007). By the way, you can preview the problem without Outlook, by opening the source with Word 2007.

    I have Office 2007 and Office 2010 installed side-by-side. How do I stop the setup / configuration window from appearing each time I open a different version? If I open 2007, it will go through the configuration process, then I can use 2007 without issue until I open a 2010 application. Then, when I open any 2010 Office application it will go through the configuration process.

    Hi, I've seen numerous answers to similar questions like this one. I haven't seen on the web many people have asked the seemingly simple question "How do I connect Access 2007 to an SQL server 2008 database" - but all of the answers describe how you can migrate from access 2007 to an sql server 2008 database, or they describe how to connect access 2007 to an sql server 2005 database. I can't find any simple solution to my problem (and probably this is a problem for many others). Here is the question (sorry for the over emphasis): How do I connect to an sql server 2008 database (and I mean 2008, not 2005 :) ) from access 2007? Apologies again for the over emphasis, but this very simple question, and what I thought should be a very simple task seems, yes, ... impossible! I tried running sql server browser, enabling pipes, TCP etc, but it seems that with 2008 SQLEXPRESS just isn't recognised! Please can someone help with this. Peter

    We Have : Exchange 2007 Standard Edition IBM System X3650 2 x Intel Xeon 5430 2.66 GHz Version 8.1 Build 240.6 Mailbox, Hub Transport, Client Access Role Installed on One Box Total Number of Mailboxes : 110 - 130 6 Physical Disks Disk 0,1 (68 GB) = Raid-1, OS Partition ( C: Partition) Disk 2,3 (279GB) = Raid-1, Exchange Database (First and Second Storage Groups) ( D: Partition ) Disk 4,5 (68 GB) = Raid-1, Exchange Transaction Logs ( E: Partition ) Setup: Storage Groups : D:\First Storage group\Mailbox database.edb Storage Groups : D:\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database.edb Transaction Logs : E Partition Problem 1: On our D Partition (Mailbox Database Partition), total size is 279 GB, free space remaining is 64.7 GB, when I select the first storage group and second storage group folders and right click properties they report a size of 165 GB. Mailbox database reports a size of 157GB when right clicked Properties. where as the size displayed in the folder is 164,893,456 KB So, we are missing around 50-54 GB, there is nothing else on these drives, no page file, nothing at all. The partition housing the Transaction logs is reporting the sizes accurately. Any suggestions / fixes on the above ? Problem 2: As you may have already read in Problem 1, the size of the mailbox database is 157GB or 164GB reported; which is not recommended, a) What would you suggest we should do to divide mailboxes in storage groups on this same server ? b) How would we move mailboxes into different storage groups ? c) This is the information store size ? (Am I right in thinking that this is not recommended) d) Having multiple storage groups with one Mailbox DB in each, would that reduce the size of the Information Store? e) Any suggestions / how-to reduce the size of information store ? We didn't install this, we have inherited this - what other recommendations you can make in order to keep ourselves better prepared for any server disaster? We are backing up with Yosemite Backup on RD1000 (320GB) at the moment, which is backing up successfully, flushing the logs daily. We haven't done a test restore YET. I have tried to provide as much info as possible, please let me know if you need further info. Also, we haven't yet faced any problems in mailflow, access speeds, everything is working fine, we have two to five people accessing OWA or Outlook via vpn only.     We have a user who has an iPad that is synching to our Exchange 2007 SP1 Server. She is reporting that her contacts are being "eaten", which we take to mean are being slowly deleted over time. This user also has a BlackBerry that is synching through a Blackberry Enterprise Server. I have two questions - 1) Has anyone run into this situation of "self-deleting" contacts or does anyone have any idea what is going on? 2) Can anyone give insight into usage of iPads in their Active Directory/Exchange environment?

  • Make Exchange 2007 use the correct SSL certificate

    I have an SBS 2008 server contososerver.contosodomain.local which is externally accessible with the domain remote.contoso.com and an SSL certificate for the external domain which we installed using the SBS 2008 wizard. This works great for OWA because IIS serves the remote.contoso.com certificate. I also want to turn on external POP3/IMAP4/SMTP however when I try, I get served the internal certificate that SBS generated automatically (using its internal CA) which has the alternate names remote.contoso.com, contososerver.contosodomain.local and contososerver. I tried removing this certificate from Exchange but it won't let me because it needs it for its internal receive connector. So how do I tell Exchange 2007 to use the real certificate for external POP3/IMAP4/SMTP?

  • vmconvert exchange 2007

    Has anyone tried to run vmconvert on a Windows 2008 64 bit server running Exchange 2007? Here is what I did. I stopped the Exchange processes and IIS and ran vmconvert. When I moved the new server to my vmware server 2.0 for windows and booted it. All seemed well except I could not send or receive email. All outbound was stuck in the queues. I was able to log in via OWA so that tells the network setup/NIC bindings were OK. Any ideas?

I want to take this into consideration as I might purchase SBS for the premium edition to get Sql Server at a much more cost effective rate but it feels like I would be getting shorted if I purchase SBS 2008 and receive Exchange 2007 since it is now outdated to 2010.

I tried installing both from DVD and also running setup from hard disk location. The same setup media was used earlier for installation on Vista without any issues!

  • Exchange 2007 Email Error 451 4.7.0 Timeout waiting for client input

    Our SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007 started rejecting some (most) emails starting about 3 or 4 days ago. The return failure message looks something like this: The error that the other server returned was: 451 451 4.7.0 Timeout waiting for client input (state 18) I've rebooted our Sonicwall TZ-210 router and that doesn't make any difference. I think this problem has something to do with MTU (packet size) but I don't understand why the problem just started now. We haven't made any changes to our network infrastructure for weeks. If I ping our SonicWall (DSL connection, bridge mode) forcing unfragmented packets, I start getting packet dropouts at packet size 1320 or so. Maybe this is completely normal, I'm not sure. I haven't tried rebooting the DSL modem yet because I'm not on site. That's one of the next things I'll try.

  • VBE6.dll not found when opening Access 2007 database in Access 2010

    I have an access 2007 database that has some VBA code in it. I need to open this database in Access 2010, but when I first open it I get an error that says: the expression on open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: file not found: VBE6.dll I believe it's becuase Access 2010 references VBE7.dll when it loads up, and my database was built to reference VBE6.dll. I've tried putting VBE6.dll in the same folder that VBE7.dll resides in, hoping it would just get loaded up, but no luck. What can I do to resolve this?
