Why does gvim open session with extra/duplicate tabs?

I'm running gvim, have 2 files open in 2 tabs. I save the current session via the sessionman plugin by Yuri Klubakov. I close gvim (or keep gvim open but close the session, doesn't matter). When I reopen gvim and load the session, I have 3 tabs opened - two of the tabs have the same file! This is not just limited to this single session. When I open some of my other sessions, gvim opens about twice the number of tabs that I expect it to. I disabled this plugin and tried another (session by Peter Odding), but I still get the same problem. Any idea what might be going on behind the scenes?

How do I connect to my home's primary wired network through an extra (wireless) router?

Thanks for looking! I have set up a desktop PC in my workshop. The Cat 5 cable connects from this PC to a wireless router which is connected to my home network. The Internet connection is working just fine. However, the "wired" network this is on shows up as a different wired network than the one that the PCs inside my house are connected to. This is a problem because I would like to connect this workshop PC to various shared resources like printers, HD Homerun (cable tv card), shared drives, etc. When I go to "Network and Sharing" and attempt to find the network that the PCs inside my home are connected to, I don't see it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to route *.example.com to a single machine without registering extra domains?

I would like to achieve something similar to what wordpress.com does - giving each user its own subdomain. user1.wordpress.com would in the VirtualHosts setup of Apache would have its DocRoot at /user/user1, for instance. Now, our hosting service provider takes a fee for creating a domain, and in our case this would mean a ridiculous number of domains with a matching price. After some googling on DNS I came over a description of a DNAME record. That seems to fit the bill precisely. Any reason why my service provider would not do this, or why I should not do this?

Subversion - Checking out thousands of small files is extra slow, where's the bottleneck?

I'm on a gigabit LAN with a 2-Core 3 Ghz server dedicated to serving up our Repository. What I check out a project with about 30,000 mostly small files, it only streams out at about 1 MB/sec. There's about 140 MB so it kinda takes forever. Surely the bottleneck isn't the hard-drive... it's on an SSD after all. Is it a processing issue? Windows Server 2008

I am confused about domain names (I think) I call these things, i.e. names you can buy, 'domain names' bbc.co.uk google.com I call these things, i.e. extensions of names 'host names' www.bbc.co.uk mail.yahoo.com arts.mit.edu hello.there.example.com Is this naming scheme correct? Are there official definitions of these? In particular, what are each of the texts between the dots called (i.e. the name for "www", "bbc", "edu", "example")?

up front -- definitely NOT a mission-critical kind of question. after a 'spring cleaning' of my local office, i've ended up with two 'spare' GigE switches at my home/office -- one managed, capable of VLANs, QoS, etc, and the other unmanaged. i've got more ports than i need. in fact EACH switch has more total ports than i need. but, since i can't have these just sitting around not doing SOMETHING ... ;-) i'm interested in ideas for best combined use of these switches. my local topology is simple: [ net ] -- [ adsl2 modem ] -- [linux firewall/router/DNS ] _______________| | [ some arrangement of the 2 GigE switches ] | ( ... stuff on the lan ... ) [WAP1] [voip ATA] [printer] [desktop1] [mail server] [Xen server [desktop2] ( mostly dev, [desktop3] + file server [desktop4] + media server)] the MailServer is a production mail server the XenServer serves some low vol to the 'net; the MediaServer guest serves ONLY to the LAN is there, e.g., any performance value in segmenting off any of the LAN using the managed switch (VLAN? QoS tagging? something?), feeding the rest into the connected unmanaged switch? or should i simply use one of the switches & be done with it, and use the other for a coffee-cup stand?

How to add an extra plist property using CMake?

I'm trying to add the item <key>UIStatusBarHidden</key><true/> to my plist that's auto-generated by CMake. For certain keys, it appears there are pre-defined ways to add an item; for example: set(MACOSX_BUNDLE_ICON_FILE ${ICON}) But I can't find a way to add an arbitrary property. I tried using the MACOSX_BUNDLE_INFO_PLIST target property as follows: I'd like the resulting plist to be identical to the old one, except with the new property I want, so I just copied the auto-generated plist and set that as my template. But the plist uses some Xcode variables, which also look like ${foo}, and CMake grumbles about this: Syntax error in cmake code when parsing string <string>com.bedaire.${PRODUCT_NAME:identifier}</string> syntax error, unexpected cal_SYMBOL, expecting } (47) Policy CMP0010 is not set: Bad variable reference syntax is an error. Run "cmake --help-policy CMP0010" for policy details. Use the cmake_policy command to set the policy and suppress this warning. This warning is for project developers. Use -Wno-dev to suppress it. In any case, I'm not even sure that this is the right thing to do. I can't find a good example or any good documentation about this. How do I add an extra separator to the top of a UITableView?

Hi, I have a view for the iPhone that is basically split in two, with an informational display in the top half, and a UITableView for selecting actions in the bottom half. The problem is that there is no border or separator above the first cell in the UITableView, so the first item in the list looks funny. How can I add an extra separator at the top of the table, to separate it from the display area above it? Here's the code to build the cells - it's pretty straightforward. I'm trying to unit test a controller, but can't figure out how to pass some extra parameters to the routeMatch object. Why can't I connect to a Cisco wireless access point?

I'm running a Lucid Netbook Remix on my Dell Inspiron 600m and I was not able to connect to the wireless network at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View yesterday. There were plenty of other people on the network - MS, Mac, and Linux boxes - but my laptop would never get an ip address. I can connect to my home network, which is open, and I've never had a problem connecting at the coffee shop, which uses WPA. The Hacker Dojo is running WPA and we checked the password a number of times but got no love. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. dpkg error when using apt-get install

I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 from 12.04 and every time I use apt-get install for any package it ends with a bunch of errors about processing some of my latex packages. Including a snippet below: Sometimes, not accepting conffile updates in /etc/texmf/updmap.d causes updmap-sys to fail. Please check for files with extension .dpkg-dist or .ucf-dist in this directory dpkg: error processing package tex-common (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of lmodern: lmodern depends on tex-common (>= 3); however: Package tex-common is not configured yet. CSS list menu; extra padding on rollover of buttons

I have been going crazy trying to figure out why there is extra padding showing up on my navigation buttons when I rollover them. It's only showing up to the left and right of them though. Return extra data besides tree data from ExtJS TreeLoader dataUrl?

I asked this question in the Ext JS forums, but I received no responses, so I am asking here. I have a TreePanel (code below) that uses a TreeLoader and an AsyncTreeNode. In my API method specified by the TreeLoader's dataUrl, I return a JSON array to populate the tree. This works great, of course. However, I need to return an additional item--an integer--in addition to the array, and I need to display that value somewhere else in my UI. Is this possible? If not, what else would be a good solution? Why do I get extra, unexpected results with my ack regex?

I'm finally learning regexps and training with ack. I believe this uses Perl regexp. I want to match all lines where the first non-blank characters are if (<word> !, with any number of spaces in between the elements. This is what I came up with: ^[ \t]*if *\(\w+ *! It only nearly worked. ^[ \t]* is wrong, since it matches one or none [space or tab]. What I want is to match anything that may contain only space or tab (or nothing). For example these should not match: // if (asdf != 0) else if (asdf != 1) How can I modify my regexp for that? EDIT adding command line ack -i --group -a '^\s*if *\(\w+ *!' c:/work/proj/proj Note the single quotes, I'm not so sure about them anymore. My search base is a larger code base.
