    I am trying to create an automatic feed generation for data to be sent to Google Base using utf-8 encoding. However I am getting errors whenever hyphens are found telling me that there is an encoding error in the relevant attribute (title, description, product_type). I am currently using: &amp;minus; but I have also tried: &amp;#8722; neither of which have worked. I am using the following declaration at the top of the document: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> Any help appreciated and let me know if I need to give more information!

  • iPhone Development: Get images from RSS feed

    I am using the NSXMLParser to get new RSS stories from a feed and am displaying them in a UITableView. However now I want to take ONLY the images, and display them in a UIScrollView/UIImageView (3 images side-by side). I am completely lost. I am using the following code to obtain 1 image from a URL.   • Have VB.Net 2010 ErrorProvider Fire on Tabbing Out of BindingSource TextBox on a WinForm

    I have a TextBox control on a Windows Form that uses a DataSource custom object as its BindingSource. I have associated an ErrorProvider with the BindingSource like so: Dim dobExample As New DOExample ExampleBS.DataSource = dobExample epExample.DataSource = ExampleBS The ErrorProvider fires if I type a blank space in the TextBox and then press Tab to move to the next control, which is correct. But it doesn't fire if I just press Tab without entering anything. I want the ErrorProvider to show the Error, even if the TextBox is empty and not just validate when there is text in the TextBox. How do I accomplish this? As an additional bit of info, when I execute the following statement: epDOContact.GetError(TextBox) an empty string is returned even though the TextBox is empty when it is required to be present.

  • Pulling a timestamp from an XML feed with PHP but seem to be to many digits

    I am pulling a timestamp from a feed and it gives 12 digits (1269088723811). When I convert it, it comes out as 1901-12-13 20:45:52, but if I put the timestamp into http://www.epochconverter.com/ it comes out as Sat, 20 Mar 2010 12:38:43 GMT, which is the correct time. epochconverter.com mentions that it maybe in milliseconds so I have amended the script to take care of it using $mil = $timestamp; $seconds = $mil / 1000; $date = date('Y-m-d H:i:s', date($seconds)); but it still converts the date wrong, 1970-01-25 20:31:23. What am I doing wrong?

    The WPF CommandManager allows you to do the following (pseudo-ish-code): <Button Name="SomeButton" Command="{Binding Path=ViewModelCommand}"/> And in the code-behind: private void InitCommandEvents() { CommandManager.AddExecutedEventHandler(this.SomeButton, SomeEventHandler); } The SomeEventHandler never gets called. To me this didn't seem like something very wrong to try and do, but if you consider what happens inside CommandManager.AddExecutedEventHandler, it makes sense why it doesn't. Add to that the fact that the documentation clearly states that the CommandManager only works with RoutedCommands. Nonetheless, this had me very frustrated for a while and led me to this question: What would you suggest is the best workaround for the fact that the CommandManager does not support custom ICommands? Especially if you want to add behavior around the execution of a command? For now, I fire the command manually in code behind from the button click event.

    hello community, understanding http and headers i played around with telnet to send requests. to not type everything again and again and again i thought i'd write a small textfile with all the commands i need. my file is as simple as follows: GET /somefile.php HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost i then try to feed it to telnet with io-redirection: $ telnet localhost 80 < telnet.txt but all output i get is Trying ::1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. what am i doing wrong?

    I've searched Google, but only found information on how to setup a feedburner for wordpress or other blogging services. I've also searched stackoverflow, but not found the right information. I'm creating a website, for which I want to have an RSS. Feedburner seems to be a good, free option - so I'd like to use that. When I go to feedburner, using my google account, it says the website I want to claim is invalid. And it's not clear how to make it valid. I also have no experience with RSS (and really websites in general), so I'm not sure where to go from here. What are the steps I need to take, starting from scratch, to add an RSS feed (with feedburner) to a website?

  • click-event doesn't fire if blur changes layout

    I have a form with blur-events bound to the required fields. Then there is a "Cancel" Button which simply calls an URL (button is an image with click-event). When leaving one of the required fields a warning is written to the page saying that field xy is required. - this causes a layout shift, meaning all the fields and the buttons are moved down a little bit because of the text inserted above. The tricky thing is this: when the focus is in an empty but required field and you click the cancel button, the required-warning is written to the screen but the click-event on the cancel button doesn't fire. I think this is due to the layout shift. The mouse cursor doesn't hover over the button anymore, because the button scrolled down. Has anyone a good idea how i could solve this?

    i'm writing a php code which has to determine if given xml is in "atom" or "rss" format. After observing atom and rss xml files, i decided classify xml based on a root element. If root element is "<feed" it's an atom xml. If it's "<rss" it's not an atom. How can i perform that check using DOM? So far i have: $dom->loadXML($resp); $feed = $dom->getElementsByTagName("feed"); but it's not working quite right....

  • PHP - Loop thru recordset and fire event each n rows

    I'm looking for the right logic to loop thru a recordset and fire an event each n times. Searching on Google i've found some discussion on similar situations, but it seems that solutions don't fits my needs. Let's say i have a recordset of 22 rows. I want to loop thru each row and launch a function on the 4th, the 8th, the 12th and so on... Using the modulus operator as shown in this answer, if($i % 4 == 0), i get the event fired each 4 rows, but 22 its not a multiple of 4 so the event is fired till the 20th row and then nothing. Maybe i need to make a division counting rows in 'excess'? Since the recordset will be between 50 and 200 rows i think its not necessary run multiple query of 4 rows, am I wrong? Thanks in advance!

    Hi all, I am beginning to use the google data api (specifically for the finance app). I can read my portfolio's just fine, so I am authenticating correctly (or so I think). However, when i try and create a portfolio, I get a 'feed is read-only' error. The credentials are legit, and I can get my current portfolios without a problem.

    I am experimenting with scraping certain pages from an RSS feed using curl and php. The page scraping was working fine when I was just using actual links, not links from the rss feeds. However, I realize now that links in rss feeds are usually just redirects to the actual page (at least this is what it seems like). Because now when I scrape a page with the rss link, it doesn't actually get the information I am looking for. Has anyone encountered this and know of a workaround. Is there anyway to see where the rss link is redirecting to and capturing that value?

    I have the below code which fires the GeoCoordinateWatcher PositionChanged event for every 0.5 meteres .It might be less.But thats my requirement. The issue is when i am walking with phone doesnt fire the event at every 0.5 meters instead it fires the event after 0.5 meters randomly.And sometimes when i move fast it fires few events one after another immediately.     I am writing a parser for a mini scripting language. Some of my grammar rules require jumping to a different location in the file to obtain information. There doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to accomplish this. So, I was thinking about loading my data files into a char array array and parsing line by line. This will allow me to jump all over the array with ease. My question is, is it possible to feed char arrays (i.e. char *) into stdin, so I can easily invoke the yyparse() function as needed.

  • Using jQuery to parse an RSS feed, having trouble in firefox and chrome.

    I used a jQuery library called jFeed to parse and display my blogs rss feed on my personal website. It worked perfectly well at first, but upon checking later it simply displays nothing, except in Internet Explorer, where it seems to work fine. After checking the javascript console using Firebug in Firefox, it shows an error in the 'XML' tab as follows: XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: moz-nullprincipal:{3f8a0c62-32b4-4f63-b69c- 9ef402b40b64} Line Number 1, Column 1: ^ Though I have no idea what to do with this information.
