  I have the USB modem internet connection. I am using ICS sharing in XP to share my internet connection. ON window XP LAN i have set up the LAN IP as 192.168.137.1 255.255.255.0 Now i have joined the cable from that XP LAN to another LAPTOP running vista Now if set the LAN on VISTA to get ip automatically them internet don't work but if manually set the ip to 192.168.137.3 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.137.1 Then my internet works But i want to join that LAN cable from XP to rouer so that i can use router to divide internet. But i don't know how i can give static ipto router because i think somehow that LAN on XP is not giving the IP address

  192.168.3.1(ASA) - 192.168.2.1(ASA) - ( internet ) - 192.168.1.1(ASA) DomainController, FS, Exchange 192.168.0.1(ASA) - above is a rough idea what my network setup looks like. each internal ip (192.168.x.x) is located behind an ASA. Each location has a different gateway for the internet. They all talk to the 192.168.1.1 network for dns, dhcp, dc, exchange and so on. They can only see the 192.168.1.1, they can not see each other. In my Static Routes on my 192.168.1.1 ASA, should i have them configure as follows? example: 192.168.x.x 255.255.255.0 Locations_Internet_Gateway_IP OR 192.168.x.x 255.255.255.0 Main_Locations_Internet_Gateway_IP not sure which configurtation is correct, thanks in advance for any help!

• Save static version of a webpage to be available offline

  Is there a way to save a webpage as static HTML, available for offline viewing, editing etc.? I want to remove all javascript files. Leave only HTML, CSS and images. For example, if this web page has a Facebook Like button, I want the image of the button to be part of the HTML as a regular image (and not be loaded as some Javascript code runs after I load the page). I'm trying to prepare a webpage for an offline demo. When I use the standard "save as HTML complete" like tools, all the Javascript is saved as well, and when viewed offline, all the dynamic content is blanks. Note- I don't expect the dynamic content to work, of course, with no Javascript. I just want the web page to LOOK as though it was just loaded from the interwebs. Thanks, Tal.

• What is the standard place for static library files on Unix/Ubuntu

  Hi, I am trying to install a library manually, well actually just put it in a sensible location preferably in my LIB path. I have a lib[...].a file and a bunch of headers pertaining to that static library file. If I look under /usr/lib/ I see only .so files, likewise for /lib/, /lib32/ etc. I figure I could chuck it in there, but is there any place where it can get cozy with other .a files or is that as good place as any? I'm not an library expert, but I'm pretty sure it won't matter functionally, but I'd like to learn conventional best practice. Also, where is the standard place to put the headers? Thanks!

• Apache ProxyPass ignore static files

  Having an issue with Apache front server connecting to a Jetty application server.   how is latency affected when multiple domains are using one single static IP address ? The scenario is in shared web-hosting By latency meaning the DNS lookup the client has to do. As far as I understand it, the browser would hit the root servers to try to figure out the IP Address and it belongs where and then when it comes to the correct server, it probably looks up some sort of table to determine which site names much and show that site as such via browser to the user. Is my understanding correct or backwards or what ?

  in closed solaris i knew how to do this. Edit /etc/inet/ipnodes, change /etc/defaultrouter, reboot in opensolaris there is not defaultrouter file. first thing I tried was System-admin-network switch to manual enter static address and netmask and gateway. press 'activate' "this interface cannot be activated". No error messages given. Close widget, open again. Now hangs for a minute and then closes try edit /etc/inet/ipnodes, reboot eth card not up. Network widget hangs then closes Works perfectly on DHCP

  I'm using VirtualBox on Windows 7 (host) to run a FreeBSD (guest) based web server. I`ve assigned a static ip of 192.168.80. 1 to the (virtualized) NIC which is run in bridged mode. The problem is that when I ping an external server (such as google.com) I get a No route to host error: dimetro# ping google.com PING google.com (66.249.90.104): 56 data bytes ping: sendto: No route to host ... I can ping the BSD server from both another virtualized machine and my host machine and from the server, I can ping everything on the network. The router ip is 192.168.1.1/16. ADDENDUM: I have the following lines in /etc/rc.conf on the BSD VM to configure networking: defaultrouter="192.168.1.1" ifconfig_em0="inet 192.168.80.1 netmask 255.255.0.0"

• Fastest web server for serving static content

  Hello, I'm optimizing our system for some faster static content delivery, and was wondering if anyone has any proper experience with the fastest web servers out there for such a purpose. From the three main candidates I've considered, Nginx, Cherokee and Lighttpd, each seems to have its own problems - but the reports I've read online are somewhat biased and lean towards whichever server the user is currently using. Any ideas on where to see a proper benchmark for this specific purpose, or at least a non-biased list of pros and cons? Any personal experiences and pitfalls I should be vary of? Thanks Edit: Serverfault.com gave the answer as nginx. I'd still like to hear some developer thoughts from this end of the universe.

  My static site www.example.com is translated in different languages and files are organized in this hierarchy: / /de index.html seite-1.html /en index.html page-1.html /it index.html pagina-1.html The root contains no files, just one subdirectory for each language the site is translated in, while subdirectories contain pages translated (both content and file name are) in the language corresponding to subdirectory name, de, en, it, etc. The question is: how to configure mod_rewrite so that when a client visits www.example.com it is taken to the correct version of the site, falling back to english version if the required locale is not supported (i.e. Accept-Language header doesn't exist or specifies a language for which the site is not available, e.g. fr)?   I have a set of IIS7-hosted net.tcp WCF services that serve my ASP.NET MVC web application. The web application is accessed over the internet. WCF Services (IIS7) <--> ASP.NET MVC Application <--> Client Browser The services are username authenticated, the account that a client (of my web application) uses to logon ends up as the current principal on the host. I want one of the services to be authenticated differently, because it serves the view model for my logon view. When it's called, the client is obviously not logged on yet. I figure Windows authentication serves best or perhaps just certificate based security (which in fact I should use for the authenticated services as well) if the services are hosted on a machine that is not in the same domain as the web application. That's not the point here though. Using multiple TCP bindings is what's giving me trouble. I tried setting it up like this: <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding> <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential"> <message clientCredentialType="UserName"/> </security> </binding> <binding name="public"> <security mode="Transport"> <message clientCredentialType="Windows"/> </security> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> The thing is that both bindings don't seem to want live together in my host. When I remove either of them, all's fine but together they produce the following exception on the client: The requested upgrade is not supported by 'net.tcp://localhost:8081/Service2.svc'. This could be due to mismatched bindings (for example security enabled on the client and not on the server). In the server trace log, I find the following exception: Protocol Type application/negotiate was sent to a service that does not support that type of upgrade. Am I looking into the right direction or is there a better way to solve this?

• Trouble binding command in grid menu item.

  I have a grid that's inside a usercontrol derived class called MediatedUserControl. I'm adding a context menu to let the user delete an item, but I've been unable to figure out how to bind the command to my command property. I'm using MVVM and my viewmodel implements a public ICommand property called DeleteSelectedItemCommand. However, when the view is displayed, I get the following message in the output window: System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType='BRO.View.MediatedUserControl', AncestorLevel='1''.   What I would like to do is pretty simple. Given textboxes for ItemPrice, Tax and Total, I need the text value for Total to be bound to ItemPrice + Tax and the Tax value to display ItemPrice * taxRate. Could someone offer a brief explanation as to how this would be accomplished or point me to an appropriate example? • Requring static class setter to be called before constructor, bad design?

  I have a class, say Foo, and every instance of Foo will need and contain the same List object, myList. Since every class instance will share the same List Object, I thought it would be good to make myList static and use a static function to set myList before the constructor is called. I was wondering if this was bad, because this requires the setter to be called before the constructor? If the person doesn't, the program will crash. Alternative way would be passing myList every time.

How two files link successfully even if they have different class definitions? 2. Are the static member s of two classes related because I get output as 7. Please explain this concept of statics.
