  • C++: Pass array created in the function call line

    - by Jarx
    How can I achieve a result like somebody would expect it according to the following code example: // assuming: void myFunction( int* arr ); myFunction( [ 123, 456, 789 ] ); // as syntactical sugar for... int values[] = { 123, 456, 789 }; myFunction( values ); The syntax I thought would work spit out a compile error. How can I define an argument array directly in the line where the function is called?

  • SELECT table name that is inside UNION

    - by LexRema
    I have two same tables. I need to union them in such way: SELECT f1,f2, xxx FROM (SELECT * FROM tbl1 UNION ALL SELECT * FROM tbl2) where xxx would query for a table name, where f1 and f2 fields are taken from. Example output: 123 345 'tbl1' -- this rows are from the first table 121 345 'tbl1' 121 345 'tbl1' 123 345 'tbl1' 124 345 'tbl1' 125 345 'tbl2' -- this rows are from the second table 127 345 'tbl2' Thank you in advance.

  • Which is more efficient in mysql, a big join or multiple queries of single table?

    - by Tom Greenpoint
    I have a mysql database like this Post – 500,000 rows (Postid,Userid) Photo – 200,000 rows (Photoid,Postid) About 50,000 posts have photos, average 4 each, most posts do not have photos. I need to get a feed of all posts with photos for a userid, average 50 posts each. Which approach would be more efficient? 1: Big Join select * from post left join photo on post.postid=photo.postid where post.userid=123 2: Multiple queries select * from post where userid=123 while (loop through rows) { select * from photo where postid=row[postid] }

  • Screen -X exec commands not working until manually attached

    - by James Watt
    I have a batch script that starts a java server application inside of a screen. The command looks like this: cd /dir/ && screen -A -m -d -S javascreen java -Xms640M -Xmx1024M -jar javaserverapp.jar nogui After I run the batch script, it starts the server and puts it inside the correct screen. If I list my screens after, I see something like this: user@gtwy /dir $ screen -list There is a screen on: 16180.javascreen (Detached) 1 Socket in /var/run/screen/S-user. However, I have a second batch script that sends automated commands to this server and runs on a different crontab interval. Because of the way the application works, I send commands to it like this (this command tells it to alert connected users "testing 123"): screen -X exec .\!\! echo say testing 123 I've also tried: screen -R -X exec .\!\! echo say testing 123 screen -S javascreen -X exec .\!\! echo say testing 123 Unfortunately, these commands DO NOT WORK. They don't even give me an error message, they just do nothing. HOWEVER - If I manually attach to the screen first (with the below command) and then detach, now I can run any of the above commands flawlessly. I can demonstrate this with a video, if I wasn't clear enough here. screen -r -d Thanks in advance. Update: here is the important parts of /etc/screenrc. - by Nishant Kumar
    I am trying to extract information from the call log of the android. I am getting the call date that is one month back from the actual time of call. I mean to say that the information extracted by my code for the date of call is one mont back than the actual call date. I have the following in the Emulator: I saved a contact. Then I made a call to the contact. Code: I have 3 ways of extracting call Date information but getting the same wrong result. My code is as follows: /* Make the query to call log content */ Cursor callLogResult = context.getContentResolver().query( CallLog.Calls.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, null); int columnIndex = callLogResult.getColumnIndex(Calls.DATE); Long timeInResult = callLogResult.getLong(columnIndex); /* Method 1 to change the milliseconds obtained to the readable date formate */ Time time = new Time(); time.toMillis(true); time.set(timeInResult); String callDate= time.monthDay+"-"+time.month+"-"+time.year; /* Method 2 for extracting the date from tha value read from the column */ Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance(); calendar.setTimeInMillis(time); String Month = calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH) ; /* Method 3 for extracting date from the result obtained */ Date date = new Date(timeInResult); String mont = date.getMonth() While using the Calendar method , I also tried to set the DayLight SAving Offset but it didnot worked, calendar.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("Europe/Paris")); int DST_OFFSET = calendar.get( Calendar.DST_OFFSET ); // DST_OFFSET Boolean isSet = calendar.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime(); if(isSet) calendar.set(Calendar.DST_OFFSET , 0); int reCheck = calendar.get(Calendar.DST_OFFSET ); But the value is not set to 0 in recheck. • Pass value to an include file in php.

    - by Muhammad Sajid
    Hi, How do you pass a parameter into an include file? I tried the following but it doesn't work. include "myfile.php?var=123"; and in myfile.php, I try to retrieve the parameter using $_GET["var"]. include "myfile.php?var=123"; will not work. PHP searches for a file with this exact name and does not parse the parameter for that I also did this: include "http://MyGreatSite.com/myfile.php?var=123";but it does not also work. Any hints? Thanks.

  • Converting Openfire IM datetime values in SQL Server to / from VARCHAR(15) and DATETIME data types

    - by Brian Biales
    A client is using Openfire IM for their users, and would like some custom queries to audit user conversations (which are stored by Openfire in tables in the SQL Server database). Because Openfire supports multiple database servers and multiple platforms, the designers chose to store all date/time stamps in the database as 15 character strings, which get converted to Java Date objects in their code (Openfire is written in Java).  I did some digging around, and, so I don't forget and in case someone else will find this useful, I will put the simple algorithms here for converting back and forth between SQL DATETIME and the Java string representation. The Java string representation is the number of milliseconds since 1/1/1970.  SQL Server's DATETIME is actually represented as a float, the value being the number of days since 1/1/1900, the portion after the decimal point representing the hours/minutes/seconds/milliseconds... as a fractional part of a day.  Try this and you will see this is true:     SELECT CAST(0 AS DATETIME) and you will see it returns the date 1/1/1900. The difference in days between SQL Server's 0 date of 1/1/1900 and the Java representation's 0 date of 1/1/1970 is found easily using the following SQL:   SELECT DATEDIFF(D, '1900-01-01', '1970-01-01') which returns 25567.  There are 25567 days between these dates. So to convert from the Java string to SQL Server's date time, we need to convert the number of milliseconds to a floating point representation of the number of days since 1/1/1970, then add the 25567 to change this to the number of days since 1/1/1900.  To convert to days, you need to divide the number by 1000 ms/s, then by  60 seconds/minute, then by 60 minutes/hour, then by 24 hours/day.  Or simply divide by 1000*60*60*24, or 86400000.   So, to summarize, we need to cast this string as a float, divide by 86400000 milliseconds/day, then add 25567 days, and cast the resulting value to a DateTime.  Here is an example:   DECLARE @tmp as VARCHAR(15)   SET @tmp = '1268231722123'   SELECT @tmp as JavaTime, CAST((CAST(@tmp AS FLOAT) / 86400000) + 25567 AS DATETIME) as SQLTime   To convert from SQL datetime back to the Java time format is not quite as simple, I found, because floats of that size do not convert nicely to strings, they end up in scientific notation using the CONVERT function or CAST function.  But I found a couple ways around that problem. You can convert a date to the number of  seconds since 1/1/1970 very easily using the DATEDIFF function, as this value fits in an Int.  If you don't need to worry about the milliseconds, simply cast this integer as a string, and then concatenate '000' at the end, essentially multiplying this number by 1000, and making it milliseconds since 1/1/1970.  If, however, you do care about the milliseconds, you will need to use DATEPART to get the milliseconds part of the date, cast this integer to a string, and then pad zeros on the left to make sure this is three digits, and concatenate these three digits to the number of seconds string above.  And finally, I discovered by casting to DECIMAL(15,0) then to VARCHAR(15), I avoid the scientific notation issue.  So here are all my examples, pick the one you like best... First, here is the simple approach if you don't care about the milliseconds:   DECLARE @tmp as VARCHAR(15)   DECLARE @dt as DATETIME   SET @dt = '2010-03-10 14:35:22.123'   SET @tmp = CAST(DATEDIFF(s, '1970-01-01 00:00:00' , @dt) AS VARCHAR(15)) + '000'   SELECT @tmp as JavaTime, @dt as SQLTime If you want to keep the milliseconds:   DECLARE @tmp as VARCHAR(15)   DECLARE @dt as DATETIME   DECLARE @ms as int   SET @dt = '2010-03-10 14:35:22.123'   SET @ms as DATEPART(ms, @dt)   SET @tmp = CAST(DATEDIFF(s, '1970-01-01 00:00:00' , @dt) AS VARCHAR(15))           + RIGHT('000' + CAST(@ms AS VARCHAR(3)), 3)   SELECT @tmp as JavaTime, @dt as SQLTime Or, in one fell swoop:   DECLARE @dt as DATETIME   SET @dt = '2010-03-10 14:35:22.123'   SELECT @dt as SQLTime     , CAST(DATEDIFF(s, '1970-01-01 00:00:00' , @dt) AS VARCHAR(15))           + RIGHT('000' + CAST( DATEPART(ms, @dt) AS VARCHAR(3)), 3) as JavaTime   And finally, a way to simply reverse the math used converting from Java date to SQL date. Note the parenthesis - watch out for operator precedence, you want to subtract, then multiply:   DECLARE @dt as DATETIME   SET @dt = '2010-03-10 14:35:22.123'   SELECT @dt as SQLTime     , CAST(CAST((CAST(@dt as Float) - 25567.0) * 86400000.0 as DECIMAL(15,0)) as VARCHAR(15)) as JavaTime Interestingly, I found that converting to SQL Date time can lose some accuracy, when I converted the time above to Java time then converted  that back to DateTime, the number of milliseconds is 120, not 123.  As I am not interested in the milliseconds, this is ok for me.  But you may want to look into using DateTime2 in SQL Server 2008 for more accuracy.

  • Routing in php vs routing in rails..

    - by piemesons
    I was working on php from past 1 yr and now a days i m learning rails. In rails:-- Routing takes an incoming URL and decodes it into a set of parameters that are used by Rails to dispatch to the appropriate controller and action for example rs.recognize_path "/blog/show/123" {:controller=>"blog", :action=>"show", :id=>"123"} M i right?? We mention this (written down) line of code in our routes.rb under config directory to tell rails how to handle the request like "/blog/show/123" using this line of code. map.connect "blog/show/:id", :controller => "blog", :action => "show", :id => /\d+/ Fine.. Now in php when we do something like this www.xxx.com/profile.php?profile_id=2 How the request is sent to the requested page. Means i never wrote anything for routing in php, then how this request has been handled. How the rounting is done in php (anything i missed during my learning/working in php) R u getting what i am asking. Please let me know if there is any problem.

I am using this code var point = new GLatLng(48.5139,-123.150531); var marker = createMarker(point,"Lime Kiln State Park", '<?php $post_id = 182; $my_post = get_post($post_id); $title = $my_post->post_title; $snip = get_post_meta($post_id, 'mapExcerpt', true); echo $title; echo $snip; ?>') map.addOverlay(marker); I am trying to echo css style blocks but this causes a javascript error var point = new GLatLng(48.5139,-123.150531); var marker = createMarker(point,"Lime Kiln State Park", '<?php $post_id = 182; $my_post = get_post($post_id); $title = $my_post->post_title; $snip = get_post_meta($post_id, 'mapExcerpt', true); echo "<div class='theTitle'>"; echo $title; echo "</div>"; echo $snip; ?>') map.addOverlay(marker); I get the error missing ) after argument list and the output is var point = new GLatLng(48.5139,-123.150531); var marker = createMarker(point,"Lime Kiln State Park", '<div class='theTitle'>Site Title</div>Site excerpt') map.addOverlay(marker); Can someone please show me a more elegant (working) solution for this?

  • Guidelines for using Merge task in SSIS

    - by thursdaysgeek
    I have a table with three fields, one an identity field, and I need to add some new records from a source that has the other two fields. I'm using SSIS, and I think I should use the merge tool, because one of the sources is not in the local database. But, I'm confused by the merge tool and the proper process. I have my one source (an Oracle table), and I get two fields, well_id and well_name, with a sort after, sorting by well_id. I have the destination table (sql server), and I'm also using that as a source. It has three fields: well_key (identity field), well_id, and well_name, and I then have a sort task, sorting on well_id. Both of those are input to my merge task. I was going to output to a temporary table, and then somehow get the new records back into the sql server table. Oracle Well SQL Well | | V V Sort Source Sort Well | | -------> Merge* <----------- | V Temp well table I suspect this isn't the best way to use this tool, however. What are the proper steps for a merge like this? One of my reasons for questioning this method is that my merge has an error, telling me that the "Merge Input 2" must be sorted, but its source is a sort task, so it IS sorted. Example data SQL Well (before merge) well_key well_id well_name 1 123 well k 2 292 well c 3 344 well t 5 439 well d Oracle Well well_id well_name 123 well k 292 well c 311 well y 344 well t 439 well d 532 well j SQL Well (after merge) well_key well_id well_name 1 123 well k 2 292 well c 3 344 well t 5 439 well d 6 311 well y 7 532 well j Would it be better to load my Oracle Well to a temporary local file, and then just use a sql insert statment on it?

  • Using the public ssh key from local machine to access two remote users [closed]

    - by Nick
    I have an new Ubuntu (Hardy 8.04) server; it has two users, Alice and Bob. Alice is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on Alice/.ssh/ to 700 and Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600, and both the file and folder are owned my Alice. Then added I Alice to sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice). This works and I can login into Alice: ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from 123.456.789.00 I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/Bob/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added Bob to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice Bob). Now when I try to login to Bob it will not authenticate the same public key. ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try. Permission denied (publickey). Am I missing something fundamental about the way ssh works?

  • Regex pattern failing

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    I am trying a substring to find from the beginning of the string to the point that has the escape sequence "\r\n\r\n" my regex is Regex completeCall = new Regex(@"^.+?\r\n\r\n", RegexOptions.Compiled); it works great as long as you only have strings like 123\r\n\r\n however once you have the pattern 123\r\n 456\r\n\r\n the pattern no longer matches. Any advice on what I am doing wrong? Regex completeCall = new Regex(@"^.+?\r\n\r\n", RegexOptions.Compiled); Regex junkLine = new Regex(@"^\D", RegexOptions.Compiled); private void ClientThread() { StringBuilder stringBuffer = new StringBuilder(); (...) while(true) { (...) Match match = completeCall.Match(stringBuffer.ToString()); while (Match.Success) //once stringBuffer has somthing like "123\r\n 456\r\n\r\n" Match.Success always returns false. { if (junkLine.IsMatch(match.Value)) { (...) } else { (...) } stringBuffer.Remove(0, match.Length); // remove the processed string match = completeCall.Match(stringBuffer.ToString()); // check to see if more than 1 call happened while the thread was sleeping. } Thread.Sleep(1000); }
