  • iiR Hospital Digital 2011: Tras la historia digital ¿qué?

    - by Eloy M. Rodríguez
Tweet

  • Ajax Autocomplete Extender

    - by Jason Ulloa
Web.Script.Services.ScriptService()] [WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] public class WebService : System.Web.Services.WebService {}   Ahora si, nuestro metodo principal [WebMethod()] [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptMethod()] public string[] PersonasInfo(string prefixText, int count) { string connstring = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["LocalSqlServer"].ConnectionString;   using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(connstring)) { SqlCommand comando = new SqlCommand("select nombre from personas where nombre LIKE '%' + @param + '%' ", conn); comando.Parameters.AddWithValue("@param", prefixText); SqlDataReader dr = default(SqlDataReader); comando.Connection.Open(); dr = comando.ExecuteReader(); List<string> items = new List<string>();   while (dr.Read()) { items.Add(dr["nombre"].ToString()); } comando.Connection.Close(); return items.

  • Using ScriptGetProperties with Delphi

    - by Mohammed Nasman
    How can I use ScriptGetProperties API from Uniscribe Dll (usp10.dll) in Delphi I found an example in C++, but I don't know how to translate it, because I'm not good on C. const SCRIPT_PROPERTIES **g_ppScriptProperties; int g_iMaxScript; WCHAR *pwcInChars = L"Unicode string to itemize"; int cInChars = wcslen(pwcInChars); const int cMaxItems = 20; SCRIPT_ITEM si[cMaxItems + 1]; SCRIPT_ITEM *pItems = si; int cItems; ScriptGetProperties(&g_ppScriptProperties, &g_iMaxScript); HRESULT hResult = ScriptItemize(pwcInChars, cInChars, cMaxItems, NULL, NULL, pItems, &cItems); if (hResult == 0) { for (int i=0; i<cItems; i++) { if (g_ppScriptProperties[pItems[i].a.eScript]->fComplex) { // Item [i] is complex script text // requiring glyph shaping. } else { // The text may be rendered legibly without using Uniscribe. // However, Uniscribe may still be used as a means of accessing // font typographic features. } } } else { // Handle the error. } The Delphi code should be complied with Turbo Delphi 2006 or above.

  • Not able to use 7-Zip to compress stdin and output with stdout?

    - by acidzombie24
    I get the error "Not implemented". I want to compress a file using 7-Zip via stdin then take the data via stdout and do more conversions with my application. In the man page it shows this example: % echo foo | 7z a dummy -tgzip -si -so /dev/null I am using Windows and C#. Results: 7-Zip 4.65 Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-02-03 Creating archive StdOut System error: Not implemented Code: public static byte[] a7zipBuf(byte[] b) { string line; var p = new Process(); line = string.Format("a dummy -t7z -si -so "); p.StartInfo.Arguments = line; p.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe"; p.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden; p.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true; p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = true; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true; p.Start(); p.StandardInput.BaseStream.Write(b, 0, b.Length); p.StandardInput.Close(); Console.Write(p.StandardError.ReadToEnd()); //Console.Write(p.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd()); return p.StandardOutput.BaseStream.ReadFully(); } Is there another simple way to read the file into memory? Right now I can 1) write to a temporary file and read (easy and can copy/paste some code) 2) use a file pipe (medium? I have never done it) 3) Something else.

  • Reading Data from DDFS ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded

    - by secumind
    I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble. Here's an example file: file.txt {"favorited": false, "in_reply_to_user_id": null, "contributors": null, "truncated": false, "text": "I'll call him back tomorrow I guess", "created_at": "Mon Feb 13 05:34:27 +0000 2012", "retweeted": false, "in_reply_to_status_id_str": null, "coordinates": null, "in_reply_to_user_id_str": null, "entities": {"user_mentions": [], "hashtags": [], "urls": []}, "in_reply_to_status_id": null, "id_str": "168931016843603968", "place": null, "user": {"follow_request_sent": null, "profile_use_background_image": true, "profile_background_image_url_https": "https://si0.twimg.com/profile_background_images/305726905/FASHION-3.png", "verified": false, "profile_image_url_https": "https://si0.twimg.com/profile_images/1818996723/image_normal.jpg", "profile_sidebar_fill_color": "292727", "is_translator": false, "id": 113532729, "profile_text_color": "000000", "followers_count": 78, "protected": false, "location": "With My Niggas In Paris!", "default_profile_image": false, "listed_count": 0, "utc_offset": -21600, "statuses_count": 6733, "description": "Made in CHINA., Educated && Making My Own $$. • Precision of cos(atan2(y,x)) versus using complex <double>, C++

    - by Ivan
    Hi all, I'm writing some coordinate transformations (more specifically the Joukoswky Transform, Wikipedia Joukowsky Transform), and I'm interested in performance, but of course precision. I'm trying to do the coordinate transformations in two ways: 1) Calculating the real and complex parts in separate, using double precision, as below: double r2 = chi.x*chi.x + chi.y*chi.y; //double sq = pow(r2,-0.5*n) + pow(r2,0.5*n); //slow!!! double sq = sqrt(r2); //way faster! double co = cos(atan2(chi.y,chi.x)); double si = sin(atan2(chi.y,chi.x)); Z.x = 0.5*(co*sq + co/sq); Z.y = 0.5*si*sq; where chi and Z are simple structures with double x and y as members. 2) Using complex : Z = 0.5 * (chi + (1.0 / chi)); Where Z and chi are complex . There interesting part is that indeed the case 1) is faster (about 20%), but the precision is bad, giving error in the third decimal number after the comma after the inverse transform, while the complex gives back the exact number. So, the problem is on the cos(atan2), sin(atan2)? But if it is, how the complex handles that? Thanks!

  • How do I construct a more complex single LINQ to XML query?

    - by Cyberherbalist
    I'm a LINQ newbie, so the following might turn out to be very simple and obvious once it's answered, but I have to admit that the question is kicking my arse. Given this XML: <measuresystems> <measuresystem name="SI" attitude="proud"> <dimension name="mass" dim="M" degree="1"> <unit name="kilogram" symbol="kg"> <factor name="hundredweight" foreignsystem="US" value="45.359237" /> <factor name="hundredweight" foreignsystem="Imperial" value="50.80234544" /> </unit> </dimension> </measuresystem> </measuresystems> I can query for the value of the conversion factor between kilogram and US hundredweight using the following LINQ to XML, but surely there is a way to condense the four successive queries into a single complex query? XElement mss = XElement.Load(fileName); IEnumerable<XElement> ms = from el in mss.Elements("measuresystem") where (string)el.Attribute("name") == "SI" select el; IEnumerable<XElement> dim = from e2 in ms.Elements("dimension") where (string)e2.Attribute("name") == "mass" select e2; IEnumerable<XElement> unit = from e3 in dim.Elements("unit") where (string)e3.Attribute("name") == "kilogram" select e3; IEnumerable<XElement> factor = from e4 in unit.Elements("factor") where (string)e4.Attribute("name") == "pound" && (string)e4.Attribute("foreignsystem") == "US" select e4; foreach (XElement ex in factor) { Console.WriteLine ((string)ex.Attribute("value")); }

    Hi, Been trying to find a solution for this for a while with not much luck... Need to render a form with an array of checkboxes each having an associated textbox. given an array of array('Dave'=23,'Pete'=12,'Si'=43); the resulting mark-up should yield: <div> <label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-1" value="23" />Dave</label> <label for="job-1">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-1" /> </div> <div> <label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-2" value="12" />Pete</label> <label for="job-2">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-2" /> </div> <div> <label><input type="checkbox" name="user_id[]" id="user_id-3" value="43" />Si</label> <label for="job-3">Job:</label><input type="text" name="job[]" id="job-3" /> </div> Complete zend noob so any help appreciuated (including decorators etc.) Thanks peeps

  • PHP: Extract direct sub directory from path string

    - by Nebs
    I need to extract the name of the direct sub directory from a full path string. For example, say we have: $str = "dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4/filename.ext"; $dir = "dir1/dir2"; Then the name of the sub-directory in the $str path relative to $dir would be "dir3". Note that $dir never has '/' at the ends. So the function should be: $subdir = getsubdir($str,$dir); echo $subdir; // Outputs "dir3" If $dir="dir1" then the output would be "dir2". If $dir="dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4" then the output would be "" (empty). If $dir="" then the output would be "dir1". Etc.. Currently this is what I have, and it works (as far as I've tested it). I'm just wondering if there's a simpler way since I find I'm using a lot of string functions. Maybe there's some magic regexp to do this in one line? (I'm not too good with regexp unfortunately). function getsubdir($str,$dir) { // Remove the filename $str = dirname($str); // Remove the $dir if(!empty($dir)){ $str = str_replace($dir,"",$str); } // Remove the leading '/' if there is one $si = stripos($str,"/"); if($si == 0){ $str = substr($str,1); } // Remove everything after the subdir (if there is anything) $lastpart = strchr($str,"/"); $str = str_replace($lastpart,"",$str); return $str; } As you can see, it's a little hacky in order to handle some odd cases (no '/' in input, empty input, etc). I hope all that made sense. Any help/suggestions are welcome.

The server load is more than 80 and cpu usr is more than 86% but iowait is less than 8%. The disk iops is more than 16000 and util of disk is more than 99%. • High Server Load cannot figure out why

    - by Tim Bolton
    My server is currently running CentOS 5.2, with WHM 11.34. Currently, we're at 6.43 to 12 for a load average. The sites that we're hosting are taking a lot time to respond and resolve. top doesn't show anything out of the ordinary and iftop doesn't show a lot of traffic. We have many resellers, and some not so good at writing code, how can we find the culprit? vmstat output: vmstat procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- -----cpu------ r b • Apache and MySQL taking all the memory? Maximum connections?

    - by lpfavreau
    I've a had one of our servers going down (network wise) but keeping its uptime (so looks the server is not losing its power) recently. I've asked my hosting company to investigate and I've been told, after investigation, that Apache and MySQL were at all time using 80% of the memory and peaking at 95% and that I might be needing to add some more RAM to the server. One of their justifications to adding more RAM was that I was using the default max connections setting (125 for MySQL and 150 for Apache) and that for handling those 150 simultaneous connections, I would need at least 3Gb of memory instead of the 1Gb I have at the moment. Now, I understand that tweaking the max connections might be better than me leaving the default setting although I didn't feel it was a concern at the moment, having had servers with the same configuration handle more traffic than the current 1 or 2 visitors before the lunch, telling myself I'd tweak it depending on the visits pattern later. I've also always known Apache was more memory hungry under default settings than its competitor such as nginx and lighttpd. Nonetheless, looking at the stats of my machine, I'm trying to see how my hosting company got those numbers. I'm getting: # free -m total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1000 944 56 0 148 725 -/+ buffers/cache: 71 929 Swap: 1953 0 1953 Which I guess means that yes, the server is reserving around 95% of its memory at the moment but I also thought it meant that only 71 out of the 1000 total were really used by the applications at the moment looking a the buffers/cache row. Also I don't see any swapping: # vmstat 60 procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- -system-- ----cpu---- r b swpd free buff cache si so bi bo in cs us sy id wa 0 0 0 57612 151704 742596 0 0 1 1 3 11 0 0 100 0 0 0 0 57604 151704 742596 0 0 0 1 1 24 0 0 100 0 0 0 0 57604 151704 742596 0 0 0 2 1 18 0 0 100 0 0 0 0 57604 151704 742596 0 0 0 0 1 13 0 0 100 0 And finally, while requesting a page: top - 08:33:19 up 3 days, 13:11, 2 users, load average: 0.06, 0.02, 0.00 Tasks: 81 total, 1 running, 80 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 1.3%us, 0.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 98.3%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 1024616k total, 976744k used, 47872k free, 151716k buffers Swap: 2000052k total, 0k used, 2000052k free, 742596k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 24914 www-data 20 0 26296 8640 3724 S 2 0.8 0:00.06 apache2 23785 mysql 20 0 125m 18m 5268 S 1 1.9 0:04.54 mysqld 24491 www-data 20 0 25828 7488 3180 S 1 0.7 0:00.02 apache2 1 root 20 0 2844 1688 544 S 0 0.2 0:01.30 init ... • Ubuntu Server 12.04 CPU Load

    - by zertux
    I have a Server (2x Hexa-Core Xeon E5649 2.53GHz w/HT with 32GB RAM and 20000 GB Bandwidth) running Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS. The server runs LAMP and serves one website only, the estimated number of users is to be ~ 15,000 at the same time. At the moment i have around 2000 users online each of them runs 50 MySQL queries (small values mostly select and insert) from the beginning until the end of the session. Server CPU Load is high at this number of connections while the RAM usage is almost 1GB out of 32GB its worth mentioning that the server was running very fast with no problems at all but am concerned about the load average. http://s12.postimage.org/z7hi6mz3h/photo.png top - 03:02:43 up 9 min, 2 users, load average: 50.83, 30.14, 12.83 Tasks: 432 total, 1 running, 430 sleeping, 0 stopped, 1 zombie Cpu(s): 0.1%us, 0.2%sy, 0.0%ni, 66.5%id, 33.1%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 32939992k total, 3111604k used, 29828388k free, 84108k buffers Swap: 2048280k total, 0k used, 2048280k free, 1621640k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 2860 root 20 0 25820 2288 1420 S 3 0.0 0:11.18 htop 1182 root 20 0 0 0 0 D 2 0.0 0:01.46 kjournald 1935 mysql 20 0 12.3g 161m 7924 S 1 0.5 102:31.45 mysqld 11 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.38 kworker/0:1 1822 www-data 20 0 247m 25m 4188 D 0 0.1 0:01.81 apache2 2920 www-data 20 0 0 0 0 Z 0 0.0 0:01.20 apache2 <defunct> 2942 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3056 D 0 0.1 0:00.20 apache2 3516 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3028 D 0 0.1 0:00.06 apache2 3521 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3020 D 0 0.1 0:00.09 apache2 3664 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3132 D 0 0.1 0:00.09 apache2 3674 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3252 D 0 0.1 0:00.06 apache2 3713 www-data 20 0 247m 23m 3040 D 0 0.1 0:00.09 apache2 1 root 20 0 24328 2284 1344 S 0 0.0 0:03.09 init 2 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 kthreadd 3 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.01 ksoftirqd/0 6 root RT 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 migration/0 7 root RT 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 watchdog/0 8 root RT 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 migration/1 9 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 kworker/1:0 root@server:~/codes# vmstat 1 procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- -system-- ----cpu---- r b swpd free buff cache si so bi bo in cs us sy id wa 19 0 0 29684012 86112 1689844 0 0 19 590 254 231 48 0 47 5 23 0 0 29704812 86128 1697672 0 0 4 320 11100 8121 77 1 22 0 33 0 0 29671044 86156 1705308 0 0 0 5440 13190 9140 95 1 4 0 33 3 0 29670088 86160 1706288 0 0 0 32932 12275 7297 99 0 1 0 35 0 0 29693456 86188 1710724 0 0 4 676 12701 7867 98 1 1 0 ^C I have not changed any of the default configurations that comes with Ubuntu.   • Is the /etc/inittab file read top down?

    - by PeanutsMonkey
    When the init process is executed when the kernel has loaded, does it read the /etc/inittab file in a top down approach i.e. it executes each line as it appears in the file. If so and based on my reading and understanding, does this mean that it enters the documented run level and then launch sysinit process or vice versa? For example the common examples I have seen are id:3:initdefault: # System initialization. si::sysinit:/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit

  • Using SSH, transfer webURL to remote machine

    - by AlanTuring
    Hi so i was doing some research in the library so i could use some pictures later on my Desktop computer in my room. I have space on my Lab account which i usually SSH into, and i was wondering if URL's can be directly transferred over to a remote machine and saved on the hard disk. I was thinking something like this: scp http://click.si.edu/images/truncatedurl.jpg /home3/etc.../filename.jpg is this possible? Thanks in advance.

I'm at a loss to figure out what's going on. How can I find out what's causing this? Update: The system is a fully 64-bit system, so there should be no question of memory limitations due to 32-bit issues. Update2: As I mentioned in the original question, I've already tried tuning swappiness to all sorts of values, including 0. The result is always the same, with approximately 1.6 GB of memory remaining unused. Update3: Added top output to the above info.

  • timer_getoverrun() doesn't behave as expected when using sleep()

    - by dlp
    Here is a program that uses a POSIX per-process timer alongside the sleep subroutine. The signal used by the timer has been set to SIGUSR1 rather than SIGALRM, since SIGALRM may be used internally by sleep, but it still doesn't seem to work. I have run the program using the command line timer-overruns -d 1 -n 10000000 (1 cs interval) so, in theory, we should expect 100 overruns between calls to sigwaitinfo. However, timer_getoverrun returns 0. I have also tried a version using a time-consuming for loop to introduce the delay. In this case, overruns are recorded. Does anyone know why this happens? I am running a 3.4 Linux kernel. Program source /* * timer-overruns.c */ #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <signal.h> #include <time.h> // Signal to be used for timer expirations #define TIMER_SIGNAL SIGUSR1 int main(int argc, char **argv) { int opt; int d = 0; int r = 0; // Repeat indefinitely struct itimerspec its; its.it_interval.tv_sec = 0; its.it_interval.tv_nsec = 0; // Parse arguments while ((opt = getopt(argc, argv, "d:r:s:n:")) != -1) { switch (opt) { case 'd': // Delay before calling sigwaitinfo() d = atoi(optarg); break; case 'r': // Number of times to call sigwaitinfo() r = atoi(optarg); break; case 's': // Timer interval (seconds) its.it_interval.tv_sec = its.it_value.tv_sec = atoi(optarg); break; case 'n': // Timer interval (nanoseconds) its.it_interval.tv_nsec = its.it_value.tv_nsec = atoi(optarg); break; default: /* '?' */ fprintf(stderr, "Usage: %s [-d signal_accept_delay] [-r repetitions] [-s interval_seconds] [-n interval_nanoseconds]\n", argv[0]); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } } // Check sanity of command line arguments short e = 0; if (d < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Delay (-d) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (r < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Number of repetitions (-r) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_sec < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval seconds value (-s) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_nsec < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval nanoseconds value (-n) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_nsec > 999999999) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval nanoseconds value (-n) must be < 1 second.\n"); e++; } if (e > 0) exit(EXIT_FAILURE); // Set default values if not specified if (its.it_interval.tv_sec == 0 && its.it_interval.tv_nsec == 0) { its.it_interval.tv_sec = its.it_value.tv_sec = 1; its.it_value.tv_nsec = 0; } printf("Running with timer delay %d.%09d seconds\n", (int) its.it_interval.tv_sec, (int) its.it_interval.tv_nsec); // Will be waiting for signals synchronously, so block the one in use. sigset_t sigset; sigemptyset(&sigset); sigaddset(&sigset, TIMER_SIGNAL); sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, &sigset, NULL ); // Create and arm the timer struct sigevent sev; timer_t timer; sev.sigev_notify = SIGEV_SIGNAL; sev.sigev_signo = TIMER_SIGNAL; sev.sigev_value.sival_ptr = timer; timer_create(CLOCK_REALTIME, &sev, &timer); timer_settime(timer, TIMER_ABSTIME, &its, NULL ); // Signal handling loop int overruns; siginfo_t si; // Make the loop infinite if r = 0 if (r == 0) r = -1; while (r != 0) { // Sleeping should cause overruns if (d > 0) sleep(d); sigwaitinfo(&sigset, &si); // Check that the signal is from the timer if (si.si_code != SI_TIMER) continue; overruns = timer_getoverrun(timer); if (overruns > 0) { printf("Timer overrun occurred for %d expirations.\n", overruns); } // Decrement r if not repeating indefinitely if (r > 0) r--; } return EXIT_SUCCESS; }
