So if the data changes, I will refresh my application settings. Do you have any suggestions how this can be implemented?

    Disclaimer: I've never used technique which is described below. That's why there may occur some mistakes or misunderstandings in its description. I heard that some teams (developers) use 'pre-configured' tomcat. As I understand they add different jars to tomcat \lib folder and do something else. Once I've read something about recompilation (or reassembly?) of tomcat for certain needs. Just yesterday I heard a dialog where one developer sayd that his team-mates were not able to deploy the project until he would give them configured tomcat version. So, I wonder, what is it all about and why do they do it? What benefits can they gain from that?

  • How do you configure IIS5 advanced settings from command line?

    I am trying to automate some of the build process for my asp.net apps by creating the virtual directories it needs and setting all their settings in a batch file. So far I have been able to figure out how to create virtual directories, but how to do you configure them beyond that? For example I need to be able to set them as an application, set the default document, change framework version, turn on integrated authentication, etc. Does anyone know of any scripts that can do all this without a third party utility? Does the adsutil.vbs admin script do any of this?

  • ConfigurationErrorsException when running multiple instances due to file locking

    I'm using My.Settings in my VB.NET application and when we run multiple instances rarely it's giving a ConfigurationErrorsException because the settings file locked by another instance. Is there anyway to fix this? This is happening during the OnShutdown process, also I'm not quite sure how can I catch that exception and handle it. Only thing I can think of is disabling onshutdown save and manually save it during the shutdown with extra retry + locking + exception handling.

  • Can I rename LOCAL, REMOTE and BASE as used in git mergetool?

    Lets say I'm doing a rebase B of a branch onto master and there's a conflict. git opens up the default merge tool with 3 files as input : file.LOCAL, file.BASE, file.REMOTE (they're named a little differently, but LOCAL, BASE and REMOTE are in the file names and is how they are distinguished). Now, according to the mergetool man page: $LOCAL is set to the name of a temporary file containing the contents of the file on the current branch; $REMOTE set to the name of a temporary file containing the contents of the file to be merged, and $BASE set to the name of a temporary file containing the common base for the merge. That really does not make sense to me. LOCAL is the current state of the branch. Where I get lost is BASE and REMOTE. So my question is : Is it possible to make git use the branch name instead of LOCAL and similarly more meaningful names other than BASE and REMOTE? For example, if the branch name is FeatureX and the BASE = the file as it exists in master, is there a way to get git to substitute FeatureX for LOCAL and master for BASE, so that it is more apparent where the source is coming from? This is especially a problem when doing a rebase.

    I'm googling a lot and found several workarounds, but you have to deinfe every single directory. On Apache: example.com/hi - example.com/hi/ On nginx: example.com/hi - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at example.com:8888 where 8888 is what Apache is listening on (nginx's :80 - localhost:8888) Any ideas how to fix this and have it just forward normally like folder?

    Is there a way for me to include a simple array of strings, or List<string> on my custom subclass of ConfigurationSection? (Or an array or generic list of simple data objects, for that matter?) I'm becoming familiar with the new (and VERY verbose) ConfigurationSection, ConfigurationElement, and ConfigurationElementCollection classes, but I'm by no means an expert yet. It seems like ConfigurationSection should handle simple collections/lists on its own, without me having to create a custom ConfigurationElementCollection subclass for each and every one. But I haven't found any reference to this ability online.

    Hello, I'm currently managing a site that I feel could be optimized and utilized to be much faster, however, I'm having difficulty finding reliable information to do it. I find the Apache documentation to be a hard read, and too technical about things I don't have a strong grasp on. I'm just looking for a good beginner/intermediate book about server administration to learn as much as possible about Apache, as well as how to create a nice secure, robust server that doesn't crash at the first hint of unusual traffic surges.     Hi I have a multi value cck field in my cck content type. I want to simulate click on "add another item" using jquery. which is like $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); but it causes whole content form to submit instead of adding extra multi value cck field. Manuall clicks are working perfectly. Can anyone tell me why behavior of manual clicks and simulated clicks are different. thanks ----Update ---- This is the code I was using:- $('#edit-field-freightamount-0-value').click(function(){ alert('hello'); $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); //$('.form-submit ahah-processed').trigger('click'); }); I actually intended to call this from inside some other function but I just wanted to test it before that .
