• WPF Datatemplate + ItemsControl each item uses > 1 MB Memory?

  Does that sound right to anyone???? I have an ItemsControl that displays data from a custom object that implements iNotifyPropertyChanged. The DataTemplate consists of: Border 3 buttons 5 textboxes An ellipse A Bindable RichTextBox (custom class that inherits from RichTextBox... so I could make Document a dependency property (to support binding)) Several grids and stackpanels for layout It uses: Styles (stored in a resource dictionary higher up the tree) Styles affect: colors, thicknesses, and text properties: which are data-bound to a "settings" class that implements iNotifyPropertyChanged, so the user can change display settings That's it! So what gives? I've also noticed that when I empty and remove the ItemsControl, memory isn't freed. over 5000 instances of "CommandBindingCollection" and "WeakReference" are CREATED (using ANTS profiler). And huge number of EffectiveValueEntry objects are created too. So really, what gives!!! :-) Thanks for your insight! Management needs this project soon but in its current state, it's unreleasable.

  Hi all, I have been working on a shopping cart that the user can add/remove order items as they please and am returning an updated sub-total via a webservice using jQuery $.ajax Here is how I am calling the webservice and setting the sub-total with the response. //perform the ajax call $.ajax({ url: p, data: '{' + s + '}', success: function(sTotal) { //order was updated: set span to new sub-total $("#cartRow" + orderID).find(".subTotal").text(sTotal); }, failure: function() { //if the orer was not saved //console.log('Error: Order not deleted'); } }); The response I am getting seems perfectly fine: {"d":"128.00"} When I display the total on the page it displays as 128 rather than 128.00 I am fully sure it is something very simple and silly but I am so deep into it now I need someone with a fresh brain to help me out!!   I am trying to implement a paging system that displays nearby page numbers as well as pages at each extreme. For example, if the user is on page 20 of 40, the following links should be displayed: 1, 2 ... 18, 19, [20], 21, 22 ... 39, 40. The solution would be similar to the one described here: http://90poe.com/alex-lee-on-bell-curve-pagination I have seen code to do this in PHP, but not in ASP.net (ideally I am looking for C# code). If anyone has done anything like this previously, it would be very helpful to see your code.

• How to use $.get data to replace certain elements in a webpage?

  I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 to navigate smoothly between similar webpages (in ff3). When clicking on a link, a javascript script should load the new html, filter out the right elements and replace them on the current page. It looks like the $(htmlcode) does not do the thing I expected. The actions below work when loading the page directly, but when using the $.get I have the following problems: the find function seems only to look inside a div element called id="page", which is inside the body element one of the elements has <script>...</script>, but the <script>...</script> is not present in the DOM of $(htmlcode). • Implementing a client for ActiveMQ events

  I can listen to events from a certain topic in an ActiveMQ server using a simple asynchronous listener and print the incoming events to the console (code to that actually comes as an example in the activemq-cpp library). I would like to create clients on other machines that will listen to these events and update their displays. My question is: how to best go about doing this? Are there any Ajax examples you can point me that implement similar functionality? Or is there another technology (comet?) that is better to use for this scenario? How can I display the events in teh browser window as they are received by the client, should I use JQuery?

• Iterating ListView items in Android

  I want to iterate a list of items into a ListView. This code below is not enough to iterate all the items into the list because of the weird behaviour of getChildCount() function which only returns the visible item count. for (int i = 0; i < list.getChildCount(); i++) { item = (View)list.getChildAt(i); product = (Product)item.getTag(); // make some visual changes if product.id == someProductId } My screen displays 7 results and when there are more than 7 items into the list, it's not possible to access to the 8th item or so.. Only visible items.. Should I use ListIterator instead? Thanks.

• MyLocationOverlay dissappears, is not there onResume.

  I have a mapView to which I add a MyLocationOverlay. It displays fine when the app starts from scratch (goes through onCreate). If I exit the app (back button) and then start it again (onResume), the overlay is gone. I have tried to fix this for 10+ hours. All sorts of messing with re-adding the overlay. Resetting the overlays. Changing the maps location so it's forced to redraw. Trying to manually invalidate or force a redraw of the overlay. NOTHING has worked. From the way the code looks, the Overlay object exists and everything is working fine - but it's just not on the map. Is anybody else having this problem? (Droid Incredible, 2.2)

• Javascript: why I cannot load my external js page in Drupal ?

  hi, when I add the tag script to load an external javascript file, my page is not longer displayed.   I have a byte array that I'm encoding to a string: Private Function GetKey() As String Dim ba() As Byte = {&H47, &H43, &H44, &H53, &H79, &H73, &H74, &H65, &H6D, &H73, &H89, &HA, &H1, &H32, &H31, &H36} Dim strReturn As String = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ba) Return strReturn End Function Then I write that to a file via IO.File.AppendAllText. If I open that file in 010 Editor (to view the binary data) it displays as this: 47 43 44 53 79 73 74 65 6D 73 3F 0A 01 32 31 36 The original byte array contained 89 at position 11, and the encoded string contains 3F. If I change my encoding to Encoding.Default.GetString, it gives me: 47 43 44 53 79 73 74 65 6D 73 E2 80 B0 0A 01 32 31 36 Any help would be much appreciated!

• PHP/CSS issue, one account has a fine style, the other is weird

  Hello there, I am currently having the above issue, where on a CMS called phpVMS a CSS displaying front page works fine on the first account, but does not on any other user accounts. This only applies to the frontpage, and all of the tags seem to be closed. The top half of the picture is how it should display and how it displays for user GSM1001. The bottom half is for users GSM1002 upwards. I am really puzzled and I'd appreciate any suggestions. I am happy to post snippets of the code here or on jsFiddle if you require to see it. • Resizing iframe height using javascript issue

  I have an iframe which content is a php-file, and that php-file displays some mysql records. The more records, the larger the iframe height should get, otherwise it wont show all of the information in the iframe. Here is a code I have for dynamically setting the iframe height, from the iframes content (the php file): var x = document.body.scrollHeight; x = x + 20 + 'px'; window.parent.document.getElementById("iframe001").style.height=x; iframe001 is the iframe I am referring to above. I am adding 20px of height extra because of borders etc... Now, sometimes this resizing works, sometimes it doesn't. Does anybody know why it works sometimes. If I alert the 'x' variable, it shows different values sometimes, but most times it works. Any other ways you know of setting the iframes height from the content of the iframe? Thanks

• Wpf button click when application window is not active

  I have a WPF application window with a button (ButtonA) which has a command binding to a View Model property. When another application is launched the focus is lost and application window is deactivated. Clicking ButtonA now doesn’t execute the command but instead only activates the window and sets the focus to the button. 2nd click is required to fire the command. The desired functionality is on click of ButtonA while the application window is not active, the application window activates and command associated with ButtonA is executed. I have also tried removing the command and adding a click handler for test purpose but this displays same behaviour. I appreciate any help with this issue.

• How can I get the name of the Lead Owner in a Lead custom formula field?

  I've got an application that reads Lead records from Salesforce via the API and I want to link the Lead Owner field to an attribute in the application. The Lead Owner field doesn't up in the list of available fields but all the custom fields do. So, my first attempt at a solution was to create a custom field that displayed the Lead Owner name. In the SF formula editor, as far as I can tell, it doesn't display the actual data field but instead displays the ID string. Which is pretty meaningless in the context that I need it for. Is there a way that we can get at the data in the object that the ID string references? I have the RED BOX but need the GREEN BOX.

• I need a simple slideshow for images of different sizes

  I'm looking for a very basic slideshow which displays images of various sizes. For example, the first image could be a standard 800x600 but the next might be a taller portrait image and so on. The slideshow doesn't need to have any controls. The specification just states that the page will be black and in the centre there'll be the area where images will display. As far as I know, it will be very simple like this - www.jeffcutter.net. I'm limited on time here so I'm not able to look into writing a custom one or anything like that.   I have a multi-line text box. When users simply type away, the text box wraps the text, and it's saved as a single line. It's also possible that users may enter line breaks, for example when entering a "bulleted" lists like: Here are some suggestions: - fix this - remove that - and another thing Now, the problem occurs when I try to display the value of this field. In order to preserve the formatting, I currently wrap the presentation in <pre> - this works to preserve user-supplied breaks, but when there's a lot of text saved as a single line, it displays the whole text block as single line, resulting in horizontal scrolling being needed to see everything. Is there a graceful way to handle both of these cases?

• Setting Frame.Content doesn't always work

  I have a Frame control and I'm setting the Content property. If I set it twice, first to one control then to another, it shows the first control instead of the second. If I display a message box after setting it the first time then it works fine (ie it displays the second control). It's like I can only set Content once until the screen has been repainted. Calling Frame.UpdateLayout also doesn't help. What should I call after setting Content so that I can be sure that Content is actually set to what I specify?

• AngularJS, changing the data in a view without div disappearing

  I'm making a little wizard/survey in AngularJS which loads in data to a variable, $scope.styles. I've set up a plunkr for ease of use here: http://plnkr.co/edit/1S542YE7xlO2P4zyhzu0?p=preview Pretty simple. I show each object to the user in succession, which loads in the pertinent images and displays them for the user. clicking "yes/no" at the bottom of the images it loads in the next gallery. There is a big of lag between the refresh here (Plunkr seems to be loading it quite quickly, but this is not the case on my production server so it's even more noticable) which causes the window size to momentarily be much smaller plus all the content below the ng-repeat jumps to the top of the screen. What's the best way to prevent this from happening? Is CSS the only solution here?

• Clicking Elements in Android Doesn't Display the Correct Values

  I apologize if this code looks a bit like a mess (considering the length); I figured I'd just include everything that goes on in my program at the moment. I'm attempting to create a fairly simple Tic Tac Toe app for Android. I've set up my UI nicely so far so that there are a "grid" of TextViews. As a sort of "debug" right now, I have it so that when one clicks on a TextView, it should display the value of buttonId in a message box. Right now, it displays the correct assigned value for the first element I click, but no matter what I click afterwards, it always just displays the first value buttonID had. I attempted to debug it but couldn't exactly find a point where it would pull the old value (to the best of my knowledge, it reassigned the value). There's a good possibility I'm missing something small, because this is my first Android project (of any note). Can someone help get different values of buttonId to appear or point out the error in my logic? • Samsung TV Emulator font size

  Can someone please help me with this issue. I've been banging my head to find the solution but no help... The problem is that Samsung TV Emulator displays everything enlarged (line font-size 30ish pixels) and there does seem to have a way to override it. This only happens within Samsung UI components. To make sure it wasn't something with my project I've downloaded sample project from Brightcove: Sample project but noticed the same behavior with that as well. Here is the screenshot of my "project". It only one scene with two UI components: http://tinypic.com/r/124evqc/6 Opposed to that, here's what I see in my IDE view: http://tinypic.com/r/ezmn4l/6. As a side-note, I had to put height: 20px in both of my UI components' CSS in order for IDE to show them that way. Can anyone suggest what am I supposed to do?
