  I want to pass parameter from a Javascript function to another JSP page.   Ok, I've hit the wall here and need some help. Sample tables are as follows: SCENARIO_NATIONS [scenID] [side] [nation] scen001 1 Germany scen001 2 Britain scen001 2 Canada SCENARIO_NEEDUNITS [scenID] [unitID] scen001 0001 scen001 0003 scen001 0107 scen001 0258 scen001 0759 UNIT_BASIC_DATA [unitID] [nation] [name] 0001 Germany Mortars 0003 Germany Infantry 0107 Britain Lt 0258 Britain Infantry 0759 Canada Kilted Yaksmen Goal: given a scenID, pull a list of units from the database sorted by side, nation, name. I can do everything except for the side inclusion with: SELECT scenario_needunits.scenID, unit_basic_data.nation, unit_basic_data.name FROM scenario_needunits LEFT OUTER JOIN unit_basic_data ON scenario_needunits.unitID=unit_basic_data.unitID WHERE scenario_needunits.scenID='scen001' ORDER BY unit_basic_data.nation ASC, unit_basic_data.name ASC I've tried just dropping the SCENARIO_NATIONS table in as a LEFT OUTER JOIN on scenID but what ends up happening is that ALL units come back with a side of 1 because that's always the first side listed for the scenID in the SCENARIO_NATIONS table. Conceptually, what I think needs to happen is SCENARIO_NATIONS must be joined to both the scenID (to restrict it to just that scenario) and to each unit's nation but I don't have any idea how to do that and my Google-fu is inadequate. :-/

• Create a Visual Studio type look using Java Swing

  I would like to create extend a Java Swing application to have a look somewhat similar to an IDE such as Eclipse or Visual Studio. That’s, there would be a panel at the left that displays a tree, and a tab panel on the right that allows several elements of the tree to be opened and edited on right. For this I could easily use a BorderLayout and just use the center and left areas. However, I would also like to have the ability for the user to drag the border between these two panels, just like Eclipse and Visual Studio allow. I can think of several ways to do this, but was curious if anyone had found a particularly good way to do this, or knew of an example. I’ve googled for it, but have not found anything.

• Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

  Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor?   Here goes: T1 [id] [desc] 1 lovely 2 ugly 3 slender T2 [id] [userid] [vote] 1 1 3 1 2 5 1 3 2 2 1 1 2 2 4 2 3 4 In one query (if possible) I'd like to return: T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote), T2.vote (for user viewing the page) I can get the first 3 items with: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote) FROM T1 LEFT JOIN T2 ON T1.id=T2.id GROUP BY T1.id and I can get the first, second, and fourth items with: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, T2.vote FROM T1 LEFT JOIN T2 ON T1.id=T2.id WHERE T2.userid='1' GROUP BY T1.id but I'm at a loss as to how to get all four items in one query. I tried inserting a select as the fourth term: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote), (SELECT T2.vote FROM T2 WHERE T2.userid='1') AS userVote etc etc but I get an error that the select returns more than one row... Help? My reason for wanting to do this in one query instead of two is that I want to be able to sort the data within MySQL rather than one it's been split into a number of arrays.

  The following statements give the same result (one is using "on", and the other using "where"): mysql> select * from gifts INNER JOIN sentGifts on gifts.giftID = sentGifts.giftID; mysql> select * from gifts INNER JOIN sentGifts where gifts.giftID = sentGifts.giftID; I can only see in a case of a Left Outer Join finding the "unmatched" cases: (to find out the gifts that were never sent by anybody) mysql> select name from gifts LEFT OUTER JOIN sentgifts on gifts.giftID = sentgifts.giftID where sentgifts.giftID IS NULL; In this case, it is first using "on", and then "where". Does the "on" first do the matching, and then "where" does the "secondary" filtering? Or is there a more general rule of using "on" versus "where"? Thanks.

• Threaded Django task doesn't automatically handle transactions or db connections?

  I've got Django set up to run some recurring tasks in their own threads, and I noticed that they were always leaving behind unfinished database connection processes (pgsql "Idle In Transaction"). I looked through the Postgres logs and found that the transactions weren't being completed (no ROLLBACK). I tried using the various transaction decorators on my functions, no luck. I switched to manual transaction management and did the rollback manually, that worked, but still left the processes as "Idle". So then I called connection.close(), and all is well. But I'm left wondering, why doesn't Django's typical transaction and connection management work for these threaded tasks that are being spawned from the main Django thread?

  I was testing my website inside the Android emulator with the Droid Skin (240 dpi). I have the following css: #container { position: relative; width: 854px; height: 480px; background: #000; margin: auto; } #container li { position: relative; list-style: none; width: 201px; height: 110px; padding-left: 10px; padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:10px; overflow: hidden; float: left; z-index: 2; } The display is not what I expected obviously because I am defining everything in px (when I should have been using dip but css does not allow dip). How can I convert my px to something that is suitable for Android? Any suggestions?

• Floating images with multiple sizes in CSS

  I'm wanting to be able to create a banner of floating images based on what are uploaded via users. The tool needs to have images of 50x50 and 100x100. At the moment, I just want to randomly display the images and tried to apply float:left. However, as you can see below - it leaves gaps. Is there an easy way to do this without programatically positioning the images? • How do I view Visual Studio BuildLog.htm files without cutting and pasting into an external browser

  This may or may not be specific to VS2005 (as that is the version I'm referring to for this question). I find often the case is that I see this in the Output panel inside Visual Studio 2>Build log was saved at "file://c:\\vsdll_example\MyExecRefsDll\Debug\BuildLog.htm" Now, since that looks and smells like a URL, I would have thought that I could simply left mouse click on it, or left mouse double-click on it, and a browser window of some sort would be displayed. No, that doesn't work. So, to view it, I have to cut and paste the "file://bla/bla/bla" part into an external window. Is there a way to set up Visual Studio to allow me to browse to that file directly, or view it inside Visual Studio IDE, or something to that effect, without the extra fiddling with cutting and pasting? Or is there some type of keybinding I'm not aware of? Thanks, bg

In MainWindow.xaml it consists of listbox and when double clicked any item of listbox, it displays edit window (EditView userControl). Whenever edit window gets displayed, it plays an animation (sliding from right to left). The EditView userControl has two buttons 'Save' and 'Cancel'. Now I want to add animation (sliding edit window from left to right) when any of the button (Save or Cancel) button is clicked. When 'Save' or 'Cancel' button is clicked, it Collapse the edit window. • Un-do Windows disk convert HFS+

  Last night, a friend asked my to give him a copy of a word document. He handed me an external hard drive and left. I plugged the hard drive into my file server running Windows Server 2003, opened disk management and clicked OK. (I know that in Windows 2003 you need to manually assign a drive letter to external drives.) I then looked at the drive in disk management and it said that it was unallocated space. I called my friend and he said that there was data on the drive, but he used it with his Mac Book. Aperantly when I clicked OK in disk management I converted the from HFS+ file system to something else. Is there any way to undo the disk convert? I immediately removed the drive, so there was no writing to it. Windows did not format the drive, it just converted it. Is the data still there? All the data recovery programs I have are for windows, can they read the Mac file system? I need to get the data back, what can I do?

  Left to right, Col1 id 560px wide with 10 px padding, middle column, 250px wide with 5px padding and Col3 (siderbar) is 200px wide with 3px padding. Background coloR, no matter text length in any column should stretch vertically equal. No javascript (jQuery workarounds) to make it work. It needs to be pure Semantic Markup with CSS. Each Column should have a nested column of color were content will go. Column 1 should be SEO prominant which means the highest nested column for Google and other Search Engines to crawl. I have used 'The Holy Grail" layout, articles at "A List Apart" and these solution are so convoluted that they push the main columns left and than the nested columns push them with padding back right. This is crazy! I try to adjust these examples, but they're not editable by just adjusting a width in the CSS or the padding, etc. Can you please help me?

  Hi, I always see the th tag only used in the first row of the table. Is there some specific reason why it can't be used to create 'left' headers along the leftmost column. Is this bad form, or is this ok. Basically, a table with headings on the top row and the leftmost column, with the very top left square being empty. e.g. <table> <tr> <th/> <!--empty--> <th>Top 1</th> <th>Top 2</th></tr> <tr> <th>LeftHeader?</th> <td>data1</td> <td>data2</td></tr> </table>

• Weird Perspective With CATransform3DMakeRotation

  I'm having an odd problem with CATransform3DMakeRotation. When the rotated view is in the center of the superview, it looks like this: This is how it's supposed to look. However, when it's somewhere else in the superview, say, in the lower left corner, it looks like this: Note that it is tilted to the right. Same thing happens when it's in the lower right corner, only that it tilts to the left. Is there some way to make it tilt the way it should all the time and in every position?

When I see, Home page, on my local machine, in the content area of my page it shows me IMAGE on the right as I want to see. But, When I see that page on my remote machine It shows my IMAGE on the left, instead of right side.   I'm currently using jquery's ajax feature or whatever they call it. To load data from mysql database. Its working fine, but one of the built in features of this one is to load all the data which is on the database when you press on backspace and there's no character left on the text box. Here's my query: SELECT * FROM prod_table WHERE QTYHAND>0 AND PRODUCT LIKE '$prod%' OR P_DESC LIKE '$desc%' OR CATEGORY LIKE '$cat%' As you can see I only want to load the products which has greater than 0 quantity on hand. I'm using this code to communicate to the php file which has the query on it: $('#inp').keyup(function(){ var inpval=$('#inp').val(); $.ajax({ type: 'POST', data: ({p : inpval}), url: 'querys.php', success: function(data) { $('.result').html(data); } }); }); Is it possible to also filter the data that it outputs so that when I press on backspace and there's no character left. The only products that's going to display are those with greater than 0 quantity?
