• How Can i reload data in tableview in view controller in iphone

  Hi, I am new to iphone development. I have created 5 buttons in the view. On clicking the buttons it navigates to the corresponding views. • JSON: Jackson stream parser - is it really worth it?

  I'm making pretty heavy use of JSON parsing in an app I'm writing. Most of what I have done is already implemented using Android's built in JSONObject library (is it json-lib?). JSONObject appears to create instances of absolutely everything in the JSON string... even if I don't end up using all of them. My app currently runs pretty well, even on a G1. My question is this: are the speed and memory benefits from using a stream parser like Jackson worth all the trouble? By trouble, I mean this: As far as I can tell, there are three downsides to using Jackson instead of the built in library: Dependency on an external library. This makes your .apk bigger in the end. Not a huge deal. Your app is more fragile. Since the parsing is not done automatically, it is more vulnerable to changes in the JSON text that it's parsing. I'm extremely worried that malformed JSON will result in infinite loops (as pull parsing requires a lot of while loops). Writing code to parse JSON via a stream parser is ugly and tedious.

• Passing C++ object to C++ code through Python?

  Hi all, I have written some physics simulation code in C++ and parsing the input text files is a bottleneck of it. As one of the input parameters, the user has to specify a math function which will be evaluated many times at run-time. The C++ code has some pre-defined function classes for this (they are actually quite complex on the math side) and some limited parsing capability but I am not satisfied with this construction at all. What I need is that both the algorithm and the function evaluation remain speedy, so it is advantageous to keep them both as compiled code (and preferrably, the math functions as C++ function objects). However I thought of glueing the whole simulation together with Python: the user could specify the input parameters in a Python script, while also implementing storage, visualization of the results (matplotlib) and GUI, too, in Python. I know that most of the time, exposing C++ classes can be done, e.g. with SWIG but I still have a question concerning the parsing of the user defined math function in Python: Is it possible to somehow to construct a C++ function object in Python and pass it to the C++ algorithm? E.g. when I call f = WrappedCPPGaussianFunctionClass(sigma=0.5) WrappedCPPAlgorithm(f) in Python, it would return a pointer to a C++ object which would then be passed to a C++ routine requiring such a pointer, or something similar... (don't ask me about memory management in this case, though :S) The point is that no callback should be made to Python code in the algorithm. Later I would like to extend this example to also do some simple expression parsing on the Python side, such as sum or product of functions, and return some compound, parse-tree like C++ object but let's stay at the basics for now. • What's with the accesses to $random_existing_file/cache/df.php?

  Occasionally I eyeball Apache's access_log and lately I've been noticing these accesses to URLs that I don't serve. They're correctly 404'ed, but I'd like to know just who and what is involved here. "Obviously" it's some sort of vulnerability probing; I'd like to know which. (Not that it affects me, but I like to know the score.) Here's an example: 69.89.31.206 - - [28/Nov/2012:17:36:34 +0200] "GET /cvfull.pdf/cache/df.php HTTP/1.1" 404 489 "-" "-" Oddly, all 26 attempts are to either /cache/df.php, or to /cvfull.pdf/cache/df.php - they come in pairs. A few weeks ago it was zx.php, now it's df.php - I'm assuming the target is the same. Perhaps I should be flattered that a script is thinking of hiring me. Seriously, my CV is one of only two PDF files on my site, so I can only guess that non-PDF URLs aren't interesting? I've tried Googling for "cache df php", but my Google-fu is weak at the best of times, so I can only find a few reports of other script attacks. What's the vulnerability being scanned for here?

  I'm trying to parse apache log files, but I'm finding some strange results and I'm not sure what they mean. Hopefully someone can provide some insight. (all of the IP addresses were altered. none actually start with 192, I didn't figure the search engines mattered though.) In the first example, multiple ip addresses are showing up in the host field: 192.249.71.25 - - [04/Aug/2009:04:21:44 -0500] "GET /publications/example.pdf HTTP/1.1" 200 2738 192.0.100.93, 192.20.31.86 - - [04/Aug/2009:04:21:22 -0500] "GET /docs/another.pdf HTTP/1.0" 206 371469 What causes this? Does it have to do with proxy servers? Is there a way to have Apache only log one? In the second example, a bunch of information is just completely missing! • Dynamically creating a Generic Type at Runtime

  I learned something new today. Not uncommon, but it's a core .NET runtime feature I simply did not know although I know I've run into this issue a few times and worked around it in other ways. Today there was no working around it and a few folks on Twitter pointed me in the right direction. The question I ran into is: How do I create a type instance of a generic type when I have dynamically acquired the type at runtime? Yup it's not something that you do everyday, but when you're writing code that parses objects dynamically at runtime it comes up from time to time. In my case it's in the bowels of a custom JSON parser. After some thought triggered by a comment today I realized it would be fairly easy to implement two-way Dictionary parsing for most concrete dictionary types. I could use a custom Dictionary serialization format that serializes as an array of key/value objects. Basically I can use a custom type (that matches the JSON signature) to hold my parsed dictionary data and then add it to the actual dictionary when parsing is complete. Generic Types at Runtime One issue that came up in the process was how to figure out what type the Dictionary<K,V> generic parameters take. Reflection actually makes it fairly easy to figure out generic types at runtime with code like this: if (arrayType.GetInterface("IDictionary") != null) { if (arrayType.IsGenericType) { var keyType = arrayType.GetGenericArguments()[0]; var valueType = arrayType.GetGenericArguments()[1]; … } } The GetArrayType method gets passed a type instance that is the array or array-like object that is rendered in JSON as an array (which includes IList, IDictionary, IDataReader and a few others). In my case the type passed would be something like Dictionary<string, CustomerEntity>. So I know what the parent container class type is. Based on the the container type using it's then possible to use GetGenericTypeArguments() to retrieve all the generic types in sequential order of definition (ie. string, CustomerEntity). That's the easy part. Creating a Generic Type and Providing Generic Parameters at RunTime The next problem is how do I get a concrete type instance for the generic type? I know what the type name and I have a type instance is but it's generic, so how do I get a type reference to keyvaluepair<K,V> that is specific to the keyType and valueType above? Here are a couple of things that come to mind but that don't work (and yes I tried that unsuccessfully first): Type elementType = typeof(keyvalue<keyType, valueType>); Type elementType = typeof(keyvalue<typeof(keyType), typeof(valueType)>); The problem is that this explicit syntax expects a type literal not some dynamic runtime value, so both of the above won't even compile. I turns out the way to create a generic type at runtime is using a fancy bit of syntax that until today I was completely unaware of: Type elementType = typeof(keyvalue<,>).MakeGenericType(keyType, valueType); The key is the type(keyvalue<,>) bit which looks weird at best. It works however and produces a non-generic type reference. You can see the difference between the full generic type and the non-typed (?) generic type in the debugger: The nonGenericType doesn't show any type specialization, while the elementType type shows the string, CustomerEntity (truncated above) in the type name. Once the full type reference exists (elementType) it's then easy to create an instance. In my case the parser parses through the JSON and when it completes parsing the value/object it creates a new keyvalue<T,V> instance. Now that I know the element type that's pretty trivial with: // Objects start out null until we find the opening tag resultObject = Activator.CreateInstance(elementType); Here the result object is picked up by the JSON array parser which creates an instance of the child object (keyvalue<K,V>) and then parses and assigns values from the JSON document using the types  key/value property signature. Internally the parser then takes each individually parsed item and adds it to a list of  List<keyvalue<K,V>> items. Parsing through a Generic type when you only have Runtime Type Information When parsing of the JSON array is done, the List needs to be turned into a defacto Dictionary<K,V>. This should be easy since I know that I'm dealing with an IDictionary, and I know the generic types for the key and value. The problem is again though that this needs to happen at runtime which would mean using several Convert.ChangeType() calls in the code to dynamically cast at runtime. Yuk. In the end I decided the easier and probably only slightly slower way to do this is a to use the dynamic type to collect the items and assign them to avoid all the dynamic casting madness: else if (IsIDictionary) { IDictionary dict = Activator.CreateInstance(arrayType) as IDictionary; foreach (dynamic item in items) { dict.Add(item.key, item.value); } return dict; } This code creates an instance of the generic dictionary type first, then loops through all of my custom keyvalue<K,V> items and assigns them to the actual dictionary. By using Dynamic here I can side step all the explicit type conversions that would be required in the three highlighted areas (not to mention that this nested method doesn't have access to the dictionary item generic types here). Static <- -> Dynamic Dynamic casting in a static language like C# is a bitch to say the least. This is one of the few times when I've cursed static typing and the arcane syntax that's required to coax types into the right format. It works but it's pretty nasty code. If it weren't for dynamic that last bit of code would have been a pretty ugly as well with a bunch of Convert.ChangeType() calls to litter the code. Fortunately this type of type convulsion is rather rare and reserved for system level code.   SOLVED- Got it! The problem was that since I am creating the DoParsingStuff *parseThisUrl object in the viewDidLoad method, it's scope was only within that method. So after the method finished, the object got deallocated. I changed it to an instance variable instead and now it works. It gives a different error but that it an entirely different issue. Issue was: I have been struggling with trying to integrate the mwfeedparser library in my app for parsing RSS and ATOM feeds.   Hello, I have a big problem at my work. We had to make a page who displays a exercise for the users. But that page need also to be available as pdf. To do this we used DOMPDF. This worked perfectly on your development server but when we moved it to the production server dompdf generates pdf with errors. When i open the pdf i get the error from Adobe Reader: 110. The first server (development) was Debian. The production server runs CentOS 5. DOMPDF used PDFLib or CPDF, but both generate the same error. Does anybody know what kind of differents on the server i need to be aware of ?

  Hi guys, I am looking at getting a Kindle 2, read a lot about the PDF support (or lack off) and wanted to ask someone who has a kindle, a question. If you read a pdf in landscape mode, does it shrink the text to have it all in the one screen, or does it increase font size and split it into two or more pages. I have another reader, the iRiver Story and it does that, splits it into multiple pages thus making it readable. I know you can't zoom or anything like that in portrait view (i assume) I know you will say stick with iRiver, but the make of the kindle is a lot better (metallic back) and its useful to have a hybrid amazon book/pdf reader in one.

I have tested impersonating an admin user to run the app and it still does not work. Any tips on how to circumvent the lock programmatically when in wwwroot?   I'm trying to rsync a file over to my EC2 instance: rsync -Paz --rsh "ssh -i ~/.ssh/myfile.pem" --rsync-path "sudo rsync" file.pdf [email protected]:/home/ubuntu/ This gives the following error message: Warning: Identity file ~/.ssh/myfile.pem not accessible: No such file or directory. [email protected]'s password: The pem file is definitely located at the path ~/.ssh/myfile.pem, though: vi ~/.ssh/myfile.pem shows me the file. If I remove the remote path from the very end of the rsync command: rsync -Paz --rsh "ssh -i ~/.ssh/myfile.pem" --rsync-path "sudo rsync" file.pdf [email protected] Then the command appears to work... building file list ... 1 file to consider file.pdf 41985 100% 8.79MB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#1, to-check=0/1) sent 41795 bytes received 42 bytes 83674.00 bytes/sec total size is 41985 speedup is 1.00 ...but when I go to the remote server, nothing has actually been transferred. What am I doing wrong?

• Replacing files in a folder structure with files from an unsorted folder

  I have over 50,000 PDFs organized into folders in a file called PDFACT. I needed to compress these files so I ran them through Adobe to batch compress them and this worked—except Adobe could only output the files without their folder structure. So basically I have 50,000 PDFs set up in a folder with hundreds of subfolders, and everything was organized. I ended up with one folder with 50,000 compressed PDFs in it, just in alphabetical order. Somehow I need to replace all the orginal PDFs with their compressed copies. Let me give an example: In the folder PDFACT we have the following file: C:\PDFACT\BIG DINNER\BILL\NEWESTBILL.PDF … and in the output folder that Adobe created we have just: C:\COMPRESSED_PDF_FOLDER\NEWESTBILL.PDF This copy is smaller then the one in PDFACT and has the same name but it is just lumped in with every other PDF. The folder structure and subfolders are gone. Is there any way to replace all the larger uncompressed PDFS inside the orginal folder structure with their now compressed counterparts?

• pdftk issue after updating Ubuntu from 9.04 to 9.10

  We upgraded our server to 9.10 from 9.04 the other day, and it all went well except for one rather important program. We're using pdftk to automatically generate filled out pdf forms. On 9.04, it worked just fine. After updating to 9.10, the pdf forms would no longer be filled out - they'd just be empty. I discovered that if I try to create an fdf file via pdftk from my PDF form, it just creates an empty fdf with no fields. On windows, pdftk generates the fdf file just fine. Any ideas? Thanks.
