• Where to place ClientAccessPolicy.xml for Local WCF Service?

  I'm trying to create a basic WCF Service and Silverlight client. I've followed the following tutorial: http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Endpoint/Endpoint-Screencasts-Creating-Your-First-WCF-Client/ Since Silverlight 4 was incompatible with the WSHttpBinding, I changed it to BasicHttpBinding. Unfortunately I keep getting this error now: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI'**'.This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent." I placed clientaccesspolicy.xml in the root directory of the WCF project (which is in the same solution as the Silverlight client). This did not solve the problem. What do I need to do?

• TextView defined in main.xml - how to "name" it to be able to use - setText() method?

  Hi, I am exploring android and developement and I found one problem. My app UI is defined in main.xml I have 2 texts and 2 buttons defined - easy app. I read that I may be able to change TEXT in the ACTIVITY using the setText() method. And thats the problem - how do I POINT the setText() Method? How do I tell it to change a specified text? If I would declare the TextView inside the Activity with NEW TextView NAME Object, I would just need to use NAME.setText(STRING)... But I didnt so i dont have anything like NAME of the object? How can this be done? I read something about r.IDs but I truly dont have a idea how to use them, where to find them and how to implement it .... Please advise Thank you Oliver

• XML Table layout? Two EQUAL-width rows filled with equally width buttons??

  Hi heres a part from my XML for LAND format: <TableLayout android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" android:stretchColumns="*"> <TableRow> <Button android:id="@+id/countbutton" android:text="@string/plus1"/> <Button android:id="@+id/resetbutton" android:text="@string/reset" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> And now what I dont get - the WIDTH of one row and also of the button depends on the TEXT inside the button. If the both texts are equaly long lets say : TEXT its ok - the table half is in the middle of the screen. But if they have different size - lets say "A" and "THIS IS THE LONG BUTTON" the CENTER of the table isnt in the middle of the screen anymore and so the buttons are not equally width... • NSButton argument binding doesn't pass argument?

  I have a NSCollectionView with a NSButton in the collection view item. The xib's owner is set to my BatchListViewController and the controller has the method @interface BatchListViewController : NSViewController -(IBAction)another_click; @end I set the binding for target to be: This works fine but I also want to send the underlying model to the another_click method. According to the Apple docs, The objects specified in the argument bindings are passed as parameters to the selector specified in the target binding when the NSButton is clicked. So I set the binding for argument to be: This runs fine if I keep the selector method's signature the same another_click: but if I change it to -(IBAction)another_click:(id)arg; I get the dreaded error: BatchListViewController another_click]: unrecognized selector sent to instance What am I doing wrong? Apple's docs say this is possible but I haven't been able to find an example of this working. Even other SO threads are saying this isn't possible but that can't be right.

• Custom XML Serialization, how to write custom root element?

  I'm probably just doing this wrong, i know. i'm using custom serialization and when the xml is generated it's putting the class name as the root element Example: <MyClassName> <MyIntendedRootNode> <ObjectType> <Property1/> <Property2/> ... I'm inoking the serialization by calling xmlserializer.Serialize(writer,Me) so i'm sure that has something to do with it. I've tried putting XMLRoot onto the class, but i think as vb is compiling this partial class with it's aspx page, it's either overwriting this property or ignoring it entirely. ideally i'd like to just tell it to either throw away everything it has and use a different root element. Anybody else do this except me? Thanks

  I've been looking for a method to convert docx or wordml xml to xsl-fo. I read this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/156683/what-is-the-best-xslt-engine-for-perl but I'm having exceptional problems getting apache-fop going. I was able to download the bins and run it locally but the formatting was a little off and it didn't maintain the headers and footers or section 1 or section 3 (17 page doc 3 sections) it also overlapped the text over the outline numbers and did not maintain the font used. trying a more simple test caused fop to fail completely. I would like to find a way to create a PDF that is at least close to 100% accurate reproduction of the original doc.

We have the option to decide what kind of solution to put in place and we are not sure about which way to go. Regarding SOAP I think I have the answer, there are no really stable solution for doing this (I know there are solutions, but I want something stable). How about REST? I would have thought that it would be defined in your web/app server using JNDI and then look up the JNDI reference in your Java code?   I have some XML/TEI documents, and i'm writing an XSLT 2.0 to extract their content. Almost all TEI documents has no namespace, but one has the default namespace (xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"). So all documents has the same aspect, with unqulified tags like <TEI> or <teiHeader>, but if I try to extract the content, all works with "non-namespaced-documents", but nothing (of course) is extracted from the namespaced-document. So i used the attribute xpath-default-namespace="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" and now (of course) the only document working is the namespaced one. I can't edit documents at all, so what I'm asking is if there's a way to change dynamically the xpath-default-namespace in order to make work xpaths like //teiHeader both with namespaced and non-namespaced documents

I think I understand that it relates to the way data-as-a-word-of-memory is linked to type-as-a-set-of-language-features but I am not sure those are the right concepts. • A reasonable way to add attributes to an xml root element.

  The function "WriteStartElement" does not return anything. I find this a little bizzare. So up until now I have been doing it like this. Does anybody know the correct way of doing this because I'm pretty sure what I'm doing isn't right. I tried to use xmlWriter.AppendChild() but it doesnt seem to write out anything. :(
