  Hi, I am working on my final year project which is an web based application. I want to implement logout function in that project. But don't know how to do that. Also I want to implement auto logout functionality i.e. after a particular time period say after 20 minutes a user will be automatically logged out if he/she does not perform any action during this period. A message should be displayed to the user "Sorry, Your session has expired Please login again". How to do that?

• connecting clients to server with emulator on different computers

  I am writing an application that communicates using sockets. I have a server running on one android emulator on a computer, then i have 2 other clients running on android emulators on 2 other computers. I am trying to get the 2 clients to connect to the server. This works when i run the server and clients on the same computer, but when i attempt to do this on the same wifi network and on separate computers it gives me the following error. The client and server code is posted below. A lot is stripped out just to show the important stuff. Also, after the server starts i telnet into the server and run these commands redir add tcp:5000:6000 (i have also tried without doing the redir but it still says the same thing). Then i start the clients and get the error. Thanks for the help! Both the 5000 port and 6000 port are open on my router.   i've always wanted to make games but did not start actively learning programming by myself until 1st year of university. i kept going throughout university learning new languages, showing off things i had made, while neglecting my major in Biology. Anyways, i've ended up with an Economics degree, with a portfolio of SaaS and web apps i had created so i could eat during my final year. So far, I'm getting a few interviews here and there in web programming positions. When I get a logic pretest, I fail miserably. or job requires comp sci degree. I mean I can easily design and code an entire app which I emphasize through my portfolio.... but i dont know why I am so slow at logic puzzles on prescreening interview... So what should I do now ? get certificates in languages ? go back to school and learn CS ? is it too late to get into windows programming jobs than web programming ?

• Best practice for passing configuration to each GUI object

  Hi, I am writing an application, where I do have few different windows implemented, where each window is a separate class. Now I need somehow to pass a single configuration object to all of them. My GUI is designed in way, where I have one main window, which may create some child windows of its own, and these child windows can have their own childs (so there is no possibility to create all windows in initialization part and feed the config object to all of them from the very beginning)... What would be best practice for sharing this configuration object between them? Always passing via constructor or maybe making it somewhere as final public static and let each window object to access it when needed? Thanks

• Transfer Core Data from One Project to Another

  The answer is probably a resounding 'NO' but before I start a new project from scratch, I thought I'd ask. I create many throw away projects to test ideas and code before combining all the successful bits from the scratch projects into a final version. So I have one project with the Core Data stuff worked out but I want to move it to a new project. My guess is that there is too many internal hooks and dropping in the .xcdatamodel and the sqlite db is just not going to work. I'd glad to be wrong...

  Hello, I have a UIDatePicker inside a UIScrollView. But the UIDatePicker does not respond to scroll touches. It's the scrollview that is scrolling. Reading some docs on the net, I've set "Delay Content Touches" to NO, an now I see the datepicker starting a slight scroll, but it's still the scrollview that take the final word. I have some place on the screen where the user can touch to scroll the view. So how may I separate the two kind of scrolls ans make the datepicker scroll in a normal way ? Thank you for your help

I then sort it to get it alphabetic. This all works perfectly (except I seem to occasionally get duplicates of countries!). Anyway, what I need is to place the US, and UK at the top of the list regardless. The problem I have is that I can't isolate the index or the string that will be returned for the US and UK because that is specific to the locale! Any ideas would be really appreciated.

  I'm currently studying for a CS course's final exam and I've run into a minor (maybe major?) issue regarding the syntax of C++ #ifndef. I've looked at the syntax for #infndef when using it as an #include guard, and most on the web seem to say: #ifndef HEADER_H #include "header.h" ... #endif But my class's tutorial slides show examples as: #ifndef __HEADER_H__ #include "header.h" ... #endif I was wondering what (if any) the difference was between the two. The exam will most likely ask me to write an #include guard, and I know conventional wisdom is to just go with what the prof / tutor says, but if there's a difference during compilation I'd like to know.   Hi In my iphone app, I want to provide some sort of app termination handler that will do some final work (delete some sensitive data) before the application terminates. I want to handle as much of the termination situations as possible: 1) User terminates the app 2) The device runs out of battery 3) The system terminates the app due to some reason (e.g. out of memory or app freeze) 4) Application crashes (EXC_BAD_ACCESS or SIGSEGV) Any other exceptional situation ? What is the best way to achieve this (e.g. is applicationWillTerminate method called in situation 2) ? Error : java.net.UnknownHostException: ftp://localhost/alfresco Please let me know how should I give the FTP Host Address?
