  • Eclipse Plug-In Installation Issues

    Hi all I'm beginning to work with Eclipse for some Java development. I'm quite new to Eclipse, as I am a Visual Studio developer normally. I tried to install the CheckStyle Eclipse Plug-In and Subversive, using the Eclipse "Install new Software" feature. No errors, everything seems to have worked well. Clicking on "What software is already installed?" in the Install-dialogue shows me a list of installed plug-ins. Both Subversive and CheckStyle for Eclipse are listed. My only problem is that neither of them "work", that means I cannot see any new UI elements. According to the manual I have, I should see a new node "CheckStyle" in a project's properties. I haven't. I don't know exactly what Subversive looks like, but I'm sure there's a way to conveniently perform check-out operations etc. Manually copying the downloaded plug-in to the dropins-folder and restarting Eclipse subsequently does not help either. Is there a way to reliably find out whether there occurred any errors - I have no error message at all, what drives me crazy and makes the problem pretty difficult to describe/Google... Any help would be very cool! Cheers Matthias

  • Where Is The MYSQL Settings File Located On A Windows Installation

    I need to set "lower_case_table_names", but I don't have any idea where to start. I'm using XAMPP and I don't know where to look for the file or that the exact name of the file is. One source said my.cnf another said my.conf, but neither of those files exist on my drive. Is it possible I need to create such a file? And if so, what folder must I put it in for the settings to take?

  • CakePHP 1.3 advanced installation

    Using cakephp 1.3.0, I am editing index.php to setup the app, cake and webroot directories. I have the following dir's setup: httpdocs/app httpdocs/cake httpdocs/webroot I have done this countless times in 1.2.xx and according to the cakebook this hasn't changed but I keep getting missing controller Error: WebrootController could not be found. Am I missing something here in 1.3? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey, I am currently developing a vbs script, which installs SQL server 2008 + SP1. After the install I want to change the default settings in the Ssms, such as "Prevent saving changes that require table recreation" and such on. I can't figure out, where Ssms hides its settings. Currently I am looking at 1) My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\ 2) HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Shell\Profile But whenever I change a "setting" in the vssettings-file in 1), Ssms thinks it is first time it runs, and overwrite. How can I change the Ssms setting manual, without doing it from the Ssms itself?

For this I have created on axes to show video, one push button(pushbutton1) to start preview, one push button(pushbutton2) to get snapshot. But this gives me error ??? Undefined function or method 'getsnapshot' for input arguments of type 'double'.. Why is it returing double type instead of child object vidObj? How can I fix it and get snapshot? Is there any other better way? (I just started learning GUI.) Thanks.

  • Visual Basic 6 causes Visual Studio 2010 to attempt an installation

    I'm using Visual Basic 6 for a legacy project and it's been working fine. I recently installed the Visual Studio 2010 RC and now when I start VB6 I get an installer with the title "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional RC - ENU". If I click Cancel I can then open my project in VB6. Is there any way of getting rid of this, or am I just the only person on the planet still using VB6?

  • Opencart Installation and Display Errors

    Hello, I need a bit of help installing a copy of Opencart onto my Godaddy hosting. I have had one major problem and that was, after during and after the install, none of the styles or images where appearing. I was able to completely fix the admin panel, but I am now running into problems with the frontend. I was able to fix the styles by editing a couple lines in the index.php file: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] .'/opencart/'); define('HTTP_IMAGE', 'http://jpoles1.com/image/'); Now the problem is that unless you are on the base url http://jpoles1.com/opencart/, none of the database functionality works. For example the brands dropdown on the left will only be populated on the root page. Am I going about this problem the wrong way? What should I do to fix this problem? -- Thanks, Jordan

  • Eclipse randomly exits after installation of Blackberry plugin/SDK

    Hello all Since adding the Blackberry Java classes from their website into eclipse, I've had it where eclipse will randomly close, with no discernible pattern, rhyme, error or reason. Here is the environment/software packages that I am using: Windows XP SP2 Eclipse v3.5.1 Blackberry Java Plugin v1.1.1.200911111641-15 Blackberry Java SDK 4.5.0.21 I've tried the usual steps of complete uninstall and reinstallation of Eclipse and the accompanying plugins on multiple systems with the same configuration, including one that had a fresh install of Windows XP SP2. Upgrading to Eclipse 3.6 didn't work (the plugin wont' install as it's the wrong version), nor the downgrade to 3.4 for the same reason. I also increased the heap size to 512 (system has two gigs of memory) as some research into Eclipse doing this type of thing with Groovy was resolved that way, but again, no dice. Eclipse works great when the blackberry plugins are not installed, and no entries of errors or issues in the event log are helping to show what the issue with these plug-ins might be. So if anyone has ran into this issue, and even better, has a solution, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance. EDIT: An additional to my issue, autoComplete with the Blackberry SDK seems to make this extremely unstable, like almost a guaranteed crash. Is this fixable at all?

    On a Joyent accelerator I'm working with, Ruby and Rubygems were installed when the server was initially setup using Cool Stack. The existing version of Rubygems is version 0.9.2. When it comes to upgrading RubyGems using the 'sudo gem install rubygems-update' and 'sudo update_rubygems' commands, it results in the following error: ./lib/rubygems.rb:124: uninitialized constant Gem::RbConfig (NameError) from setup.rb:24:in `require' from setup.rb:24 Without having much success in rectifying this issue, I wanted to install a fresh version of RubyGems alongside this one. As this is a production server, I want to minimize the amount of environment changes I make on the server. If I install a fresh version of RubyGems from source, how do I set this new installed version of RubyGems as the default version of RubyGems to use?

    Hi everybody. I'm having problems installing pyobjc on SnowLeopard. It came with python 2.6 but I need 2.5 so I have installed 2.5 successfully. After that I have installed xcode. After that I have installed pyobjc with "easy_install-2.5 pyobjc" But when I start my python 2.5 and from cmd line try to import Foundation, it says "no module named Foundation" Of course, from 2.6 everything works fine. How do I find out what's wrong and what should i do?

  • WYSIHAT Installation - not saving photos - Ruby on Rails

    I just successfully installed WysiHat in my rails blog. Seems that the 'add a picture' feature is not working. It successfully allows me to find and select a picture from my desktop but upon clicking save, it does nothing. I also have Paperclip successfully installed. I am wondering if this may have something to do with it. Perhaps Paperclip is getting in the way, or, perhaps I need to connect Paperclip and WysiHat somehow. Any ideas? (let me know if I need to post any code).

    I've messed with Access a little bit in the past, had one class on OO theory, and one class on console c++ apps. Now, as a hobby project, I'm undertaking to write an actual app, which will be a database app using System.Data.SQLite and C#. I have the db's table structure planned. I have System.Data.SQLite installed and connected to VS Pro. I entered my tables and columns in VS, but that's where I'm stuck. I really don't know how to finish the db set up so I can start creating queries and testing the db structure. Can someone give me guidance to online resources that will help me learn how to get the db properly set up so I can proceed with testing it? I'm hoping for online resources specific to beginners using C# and System.Data.SQLite, but I'll use the closest I can get. Thanks.

    Ok, so the initial search in StackOverflow shows nothing related for this question. So here it goes: Let's pretend for a moment that you're just getting started in a career in computer programming. Let's say that, for whatever reason, you decide to use the .Net framework as a basis for your programming. Let's also say that you've been exposed to some programming background, but not one in .Net, so it seems foreign to you at first. And lastly, you don't have the benefit of 25 years of exposure to the Win32 API, which explains why it seems so foreign to you when you start looking at it. So the questions are: What is a comprehensive overview of what .Net is? It appears to be a combination of a runtime environment, a set of languages, a common set of libraries, and perhaps a few other things...so it's about as clear as mud. Specifically, what are the key components to .Net? What is the easiest way to understand .Net programming with regard to available APIs? Which language would best suit beginning programming out of the "stock" languages that Microsoft has to offer? (C++, C#, VB, etc.) What are some differences between .Net programming and programming in a procedural language (aka Pascal, Modula, etc.) What are some differences between .Net programming and programming in a "traditional" object-oriented language? (aka Smalltalk, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.) As I currently understand it, the CLR provides a foundation for all of the other languages to run on. What are some of the inherent limitations of the CLR? Given the enormous amount of API to cover, would it even be worth learning a .Net language (using the Microsoft APIs) given that you would not have prior exposure to Win32 programming? Let's say you write a for-profit program with .Net. Can you resell the program without running afoul of licensing issues? Let's say you write a gratis (free) program with .Net.   • How to completely wipe a previous ClickOnce installation?

    I have a curious problem: My app is distributed through ClickOnce. I recently installed three new clients on a new location. They worked. After an update however, all old clients worked fine, but the three new clients did not. As my code is swallowing an exception somewhere I have been unable thusfar to pinpoint where the error lies. When I XCopy the latest version of the app to the desktop of the three new client computers the program works fine. So, I thought uninstalling and reinstalling the program from the download location should fix the problem, but it does not! I can think of two explanations: The new location has some firewall/virusscanner in place that doesn't like the latest version of my app when it is run from a standard ClickOnce directory, but it allows execution from the desktop. Some old settings (the app uses user scoped and app scoped settings) remain in effect after the uninstall. When I find and check the user.config file for the app however, I find no incorrect setttings there. Thusfar, I have been unable to reproduce the error on any other machine. How can I solve this!?

  • FireLog: proper installation...

    I have installed the firewiresdk26 on my dev mac... and in the Tools/ directory is FireLog. I have run the FireLog 2.0.0.pkg installer on my dev mac, but the payload it deploys is installed in my /System/Library tree, as opposed to my /Developer/SDKs tree. so when I try to include the header iokit/firewire/FireLog.h it does not get found. am I missing something? or doing something wrong? or is this an error in the installer (either FW26 or FireLog installers?) I realize that the FireLog installer is intended to be run on the machine to be debugged remotely and thus it makes sense that the framework is placed in the /System/Library path, however none of the installers gets it into my developer path... I guess I just have to move it over there by hand, but before I do that I wanted to see if I'm just overlooking something silly and need to read the docs with more concentration or something... anyone run into this before? I don't want to install cygwin because it takes lot of space. Moreover, I need to make it communicate with a rsync daemon on Linux, therefore alternatives to rsync on windows won't help. Thanks
