    I have a 'price' variable that contains some integer number from a MySQL database. I want to check how many numbers the 'price' variable contains, and add a space in the variable depending on how many numbers. See below: Example: If 'price' is 150000 I would like the output to be 150 000 (notice the space). OR, if it is 19000 I would like it to output 19 000... How would you do this the easiest way?

  • best alternative to in-definition initialization of static class members? (for SVN keywords)

    I'm storing expanded SVN keyword literals for .cpp files in 'static char const *const' class members and want to store the .h descriptions as similarly as possible. In short, I need to guarantee single instantiation of a static member (presumably in a .cpp file) to an auto-generated non-integer literal living in a potentially shared .h file. Unfortunately the language makes no attempt to resolve multiple instantiations resulting from assignments made outside class definitions and explicitly forbids non-integer inits inside class definitions. My best attempt (using static-wrapping internal classes) is not too dirty, but I'd really like to do better. I get why the language shirks the whole resolution issue, but it'd be very convenient if an inverted extern member qualifier were provided, where the definition code was visible in class definitions to any caller but only actually invoked at the point of a single special declaration elsewhere. Anyway, I digress. What's the best solution for the language we've got, template or otherwise? Thanks!

You can use one or two temp variables for looping or anything, but you shouldn't use any temp arrays/stacks/queues etc to store entire array or part of array. I'm able to get answer in O(n*log n), but I'm looking for better solution.

I notice there's a containsValue() function, but it would appear I still have to iterate through the map to find the correct index anyway. My question is; why use containsValue() if I'm required to traverse it afterwards? Also, am I missing the point completely? ;-)

    Hello Everybody, I've got a question regarding a SQL-select-query: The table contains several columns, one of which is an Integer-column called "size" - the task I'm trying to perform is query the table for the sum of all rows (their values), or to be more exact get a artifical column in my ResultSet called "overallSize" which contains the sum of all "size"-values in the table. Preferable it would be possible to use a WHERE-clause to add only certain values ("WHERE bla = 5" or something similar). The DB-engine is HSQLDB (HyperSQL), which is compliant to SQL2008.     I am trying to convert an int into a String so that I can put the String values into an SQLite Cursor. I've tried multiple syntax and methods but none seem to work for me. The Error occurs in MangaItemDB() while trying to convert any Int types aswell as the boolean. I've looked through several articles like this one but none works for me.
