  • how to get the latitude or longitude in HTML 5

    - by steven spielberg
few month ago i write something to get the latitude or longitude from google API. latter i get the database from drupal for latitude or longitude to most of city in worlds. but the problem is that the same city name can be found two or more times in a area. like Firozabad in India and bangladesh both. Agra in UP and agar in Rajasthan. means the confusion in name by user if they found two city by same name they are confused. i hear that HTML 5 support latitude or longitude of the visiter but i need latitude or longitude where they are born or city they want to use to fill a form. how i can get the latitude or longtiude from API like google and some other. the process is that: user put the location in textbox for getting their latitude or longitude. for right thing i want to show them all location [if same thing found more then one]. they can choose the right location and after click they can get the lati and langitude. how i can do this using any API.

  • Google calendar query returns at most 25 entries

    - by Dean Hill
I'm trying to delete all calendar entries from today forward. I run a query then call getEntries() on the query result. getEntries() always returns 25 entries (or less if there are fewer than 25 entries on the calendar). Why aren't all the entries returned? I'm expecting about 80 entries. As a test, I tried running the query, deleting the 25 entries returned, running the query again, deleting again, etc. This works, but there must be a better way. Below is the Java code that only runs the query once. CalendarQuery myQuery = new CalendarQuery(feedUrl); DateFormat dfGoogle = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd'T00:00:00'"); Date dt = Calendar.getInstance().getTime(); myQuery.setMinimumStartTime(DateTime.parseDateTime(dfGoogle.format(dt))); // Make the end time far into the future so we delete everything myQuery.setMaximumStartTime(DateTime.parseDateTime("2099-12-31T23:59:59")); // Execute the query and get the response CalendarEventFeed resultFeed = service.query(myQuery, CalendarEventFeed.class); // !!! This returns 25 (or less if there are fewer than 25 entries on the calendar) !!! int test = resultFeed.getEntries().size(); // Delete all the entries returned by the query for (int j = 0; j < resultFeed.getEntries().size(); j++) { CalendarEventEntry entry = resultFeed.getEntries().get(j); entry.delete(); } PS: I've looked at the Data API Developer's Guide and the Google Data API Javadoc. These sites are okay, but not great. Does anyone know of additional Google API documentation?

  • Translating with Google Translate without API and C# Code

    - by Rick Strahl
Some time back I created a data base driven ASP.NET Resource Provider along with some tools that make it easy to edit ASP.NET resources interactively in a Web application. One of the small helper features of the interactive resource admin tool is the ability to do simple translations using both Google Translate and Babelfish. Here's what this looks like in the resource administration form: When a resource is displayed, the user can click a Translate button and it will show the current resource text and then lets you set the source and target languages to translate. The Go button fires the translation for both Google and Babelfish and displays them - pressing use then changes the language of the resource to the target language and sets the resource value to the newly translated value. It's a nice and quick way to get a quick translation going. Ch… Ch… Changes Originally, both implementations basically did some screen scraping of the interactive Web sites and retrieved translated text out of result HTML. Screen scraping is always kind of an iffy proposition as content can be changed easily, but surprisingly that code worked for many years without fail. Recently however, Google at least changed their input pages to use AJAX callbacks and the page updates no longer worked the same way. End result: The Google translate code was broken. Now, Google does have an official API that you can access, but the API is being deprecated and you actually need to have an API key. Since I have public samples that people can download the API key is an issue if I want people to have the samples work out of the box - the only way I could even do this is by sharing my API key (not allowed).   However, after a bit of spelunking and playing around with the public site however I found that Google's interactive translate page actually makes callbacks using plain public access without an API key. By intercepting some of those AJAX calls and calling them directly from code I was able to get translation back up and working with minimal fuss, by parsing out the JSON these AJAX calls return. I don't think this particular Warning: This is hacky code, but after a fair bit of testing I found this to work very well with all sorts of languages and accented and escaped text etc. as long as you stick to small blocks of translated text. I thought I'd share it in case anybody else had been relying on a screen scraping mechanism like I did and needed a non-API based replacement. Here's the code: /// <summary> /// Translates a string into another language using Google's translate API JSON calls. /// <seealso>Class TranslationServices</seealso> /// </summary> /// <param name="Text">Text to translate. Should be a single word or sentence.</param> /// <param name="FromCulture"> /// Two letter culture (en of en-us, fr of fr-ca, de of de-ch) /// </param> /// <param name="ToCulture"> /// Two letter culture (as for FromCulture) /// </param> public string TranslateGoogle(string text, string fromCulture, string toCulture) { fromCulture = fromCulture.ToLower(); toCulture = toCulture.ToLower(); // normalize the culture in case something like en-us was passed // retrieve only en since Google doesn't support sub-locales string[] tokens = fromCulture.Split('-'); if (tokens.Length > 1) fromCulture = tokens[0]; // normalize ToCulture tokens = toCulture.Split('-'); if (tokens.Length > 1) toCulture = tokens[0]; string url = string.Format(@"http://translate.google.com/translate_a/t?client=j&text={0}&hl=en&sl={1}&tl={2}", HttpUtility.UrlEncode(text),fromCulture,toCulture); // Retrieve Translation with HTTP GET call string html = null; try { WebClient web = new WebClient(); // MUST add a known browser user agent or else response encoding doen't return UTF-8 (WTF Google?) web.Headers.Add(HttpRequestHeader.UserAgent, "Mozilla/5.0"); web.Headers.Add(HttpRequestHeader.AcceptCharset, "UTF-8"); // Make sure we have response encoding to UTF-8 web.Encoding = Encoding.UTF8; html = web.DownloadString(url); } catch (Exception ex) { this.ErrorMessage = Westwind.Globalization.Resources.Resources.ConnectionFailed + ": " + ex.GetBaseException().Message; return null; } // Extract out trans":"...[Extracted]...","from the JSON string string result = Regex.Match(html, "trans\":(\".*?\"),\"", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase).Groups[1].Value; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(result)) { this.ErrorMessage = Westwind.Globalization.Resources.Resources.InvalidSearchResult; return null; } //return WebUtils.DecodeJsString(result); // Result is a JavaScript string so we need to deserialize it properly JavaScriptSerializer ser = new JavaScriptSerializer(); return ser.Deserialize(result, typeof(string)) as string; } To use the code is straightforward enough - simply provide a string to translate and a pair of two letter source and target languages: string result = service.TranslateGoogle("Life is great and one is spoiled when it goes on and on and on", "en", "de"); TestContext.WriteLine(result); How it works The code to translate is fairly straightforward. It basically uses the URL I snagged from the Google Translate Web Page slightly changed to return a JSON result (&client=j) instead of the funky nested PHP style JSON array that the default returns. The JSON result returned looks like this: {"sentences":[{"trans":"Das Leben ist großartig und man wird verwöhnt, wenn es weiter und weiter und weiter geht","orig":"Life is great and one is spoiled when it goes on and on and on","translit":"","src_translit":""}],"src":"en","server_time":24} I use WebClient to make an HTTP GET call to retrieve the JSON data and strip out part of the full JSON response that contains the actual translated text. Since this is a JSON response I need to deserialize the JSON string in case it's encoded (for upper/lower ASCII chars or quotes etc.). Couple of odd things to note in this code: First note that a valid user agent string must be passed (or at least one starting with a common browser identification - I use Mozilla/5.0). Without this Google doesn't encode the result with UTF-8, but instead uses a ISO encoding that .NET can't easily decode. Google seems to ignore the character set header and use the user agent instead which is - odd to say the least. The other is that the code returns a full JSON response. Rather than use the full response and decode it into a custom type that matches Google's result object, I just strip out the translated text. Yeah I know that's hacky but avoids an extra type and firing up the JavaScript deserializer. My internal version uses a small DecodeJsString() method to decode Javascript without the overhead of a full JSON parser. It's obviously not rocket science but as mentioned above what's nice about it is that it works without an Google API key. I can't vouch on how many translates you can do before there are cut offs but in my limited testing running a few stress tests on a Web server under load I didn't run into any problems. Limitations There are some restrictions with this: It only works on single words or single sentences - multiple sentences (delimited by .) are cut off at the ".". There is also a length limitation which appears to happen at around 220 characters or so. While that may not sound  like much for typical word or phrase translations this this is plenty of length. Use with a grain of salt - Google seems to be trying to limit their exposure to usage of the Translate APIs so this code might break in the future, but for now at least it works. FWIW, I also found that Google's translation is not as good as Babelfish, especially for contextual content like sentences. Google is faster, but Babelfish tends to give better translations. This is why in my translation tool I show both Google and Babelfish values retrieved. You can check out the code for this in the West Wind West Wind Web Toolkit's TranslationService.cs file which contains both the Google and Babelfish translation code pieces. Ironically the Babelfish code has been working forever using screen scraping and continues to work just fine today. I think it's a good idea to have multiple translation providers in case one is down or changes its format, hence the dual display in my translation form above. I hope this has been helpful to some of you - I've actually had many small uses for this code in a number of applications and it's sweet to have a simple routine that performs these operations for me easily. • Concurrency Utilities for Java EE Early Draft (JSR 236)

    - by arungupta
Concurrency Utilities for Java EE is being worked as JSR 236 and has released an Early Draft. It provides concurrency capabilities to Java EE application components without compromising container integrity. Simple (common) and advanced concurrency patterns are easily supported without sacrificing usability. Using Java SE concurrency utilities such as java.util.concurrent API, java.lang.Thread and java.util.Timer in a Java EE application component such as EJB or Servlet are problematic since the container and server have no knowledge of these resources. JSR 236 enables concurrency largely by extending the Concurrency Utilities API developed under JSR-166. This also allows a consistency between Java SE and Java EE concurrency programming model. There are four main programming interfaces available: ManagedExecutorService ManagedScheduledExecutorService ContextService ManagedThreadFactory ManagedExecutorService is a managed version of java.util.concurrent.ExecutorService. The implementations of this interface are provided by the container and accessible using JNDI reference: <resource-env-ref>  <resource-env-ref-name>    concurrent/BatchExecutor  </resource-env-ref-name>  <resource-env-ref-type>    javax.enterprise.concurrent.ManagedExecutorService  </resource-env-ref-type><resource-env-ref> and available as: @Resource(name="concurrent/BatchExecutor")ManagedExecutorService executor; Its recommended to bind the JNDI references in the java:comp/env/concurrent subcontext. The asynchronous tasks that need to be executed need to implement java.lang.Runnable or java.util.concurrent.Callable interface as: public class MyTask implements Runnable { public void run() { // business logic goes here }} OR public class MyTask2 implements Callable<Date> {  public Date call() { // business logic goes here   }} The task is then submitted to the executor using one of the submit method that return a Future instance. The Future represents the result of the task and can also be used to check if the task is complete or wait for its completion. Future<String> future = executor.submit(new MyTask(), String.class);. . .String result = future.get(); Another example to submit tasks is: class MyTask implements Callback<Long> { . . . }class MyTask2 implements Callback<Date> { . . . }ArrayList<Callable> tasks = new ArrayList<();tasks.add(new MyTask());tasks.add(new MyTask2());List<Future<Object>> result = executor.invokeAll(tasks); The ManagedExecutorService may be configured for different properties such as: Hung Task Threshold: Time in milliseconds that a task can execute before it is considered hung Pool Info Core Size: Number of threads to keep alive Maximum Size: Maximum number of threads allowed in the pool Keep Alive: Time to allow threads to remain idle when # of threads > Core Size Work Queue Capacity: # of tasks that can be stored in inbound buffer Thread Use: Application intend to run short vs long-running tasks, accordingly pooled or daemon threads are picked ManagedScheduledExecutorService adds delay and periodic task running capabilities to ManagedExecutorService. The implementations of this interface are provided by the container and accessible using JNDI reference: <resource-env-ref>  <resource-env-ref-name>    concurrent/BatchExecutor  </resource-env-ref-name>  <resource-env-ref-type>    javax.enterprise.concurrent.ManagedExecutorService  </resource-env-ref-type><resource-env-ref> and available as: @Resource(name="concurrent/timedExecutor")ManagedExecutorService executor; And then the tasks are submitted using submit, invokeXXX or scheduleXXX methods. ScheduledFuture<?> future = executor.schedule(new MyTask(), 5, TimeUnit.SECONDS); This will create and execute a one-shot action that becomes enabled after 5 seconds of delay. More control is possible using one of the newly added methods: MyTaskListener implements ManagedTaskListener {  public void taskStarting(...) { . . . }  public void taskSubmitted(...) { . . . }  public void taskDone(...) { . . . }  public void taskAborted(...) { . . . } }ScheduledFuture<?> future = executor.schedule(new MyTask(), 5, TimeUnit.SECONDS, new MyTaskListener()); Here, ManagedTaskListener is used to monitor the state of a task's future. ManagedThreadFactory provides a method for creating threads for execution in a managed environment. A simple usage is: @Resource(name="concurrent/myThreadFactory")ManagedThreadFactory factory;. . .Thread thread = factory.newThread(new Runnable() { . . . }); concurrent/myThreadFactory is a JNDI resource. There is lot of interesting content in the Early Draft, download it, and read yourself. The implementation will be made available soon and also be integrated in GlassFish 4 as well. • Facebook graph api photo upload to a fan page album

    - by kielie
Hi guys, I have gotten the photo upload function to work with this code, <?php include_once 'facebook-php-sdk/src/facebook.php'; include_once 'config.php';//this file contains the secret key and app id etc... $facebook = new Facebook(array( 'appId' => FACEBOOK_APP_ID, 'secret' => FACEBOOK_SECRET_KEY, 'cookie' => true, 'domain' => 'your callback url goes here' )); $session = $facebook->getSession(); if (!$session) { $url = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array( 'canvas' => 1, 'fbconnect' => 0, 'req_perms'=>'user_photos,publish_stream,offline_access'//here I am requesting the required permissions, it should work with publish_stream alone, but I added the others just to be safe )); echo 'You are not logged in, please <a href="' . $facebook->getLoginUrl() . '">Login</a> to access this application'; } else{ try { $uid = $facebook->getUser(); $me = $facebook->api('/me'); $token = $session['access_token'];//here I get the token from the $session array $album_id = 'the id of the album you wish to upload to eg: 1122'; //upload your photo $file= 'test.jpg'; $args = array( 'message' => 'Photo from application', ); $args[basename($file)] = '@' . realpath($file); $ch = curl_init(); $url = 'https://graph.facebook.com/'.$album_id.'/photos?access_token='.$token; curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $args); $data = curl_exec($ch); //returns the id of the photo you just uploaded print_r(json_decode($data,true)); } catch(FacebookApiException $e){ echo "Error:" . print_r($e, true); } } ?> I hope this helps, a friend and I smashed our heads against a wall for quite some time to get this working! Anyways, here is my question, how can I upload a image to a fan page? I am struggling to get this working, when I upload the image all I get is the photo id but no photo in the album. So basically, when the user clicks the upload button on our application, I need it to upload the image they created to our fan page's album with them tagged on it. Anyone know how I can accomplish this?

  • Common Access Card (CAC) Authentication Using Java

    - by Paul
I'm bascially looking for someplace to start learning how to interface with a government CAC card using java. Ultimately, my goal is to find out how to use CAC card authentication (by PIN number) to authorize access to a website hosted using a Tomcat/J2EE server. But I'll need somewhere to start. So I figure I'd start by writing a small java program to simply read the CAC card information from the CAC card which is inserted into a card reader on my keyboard (DELL keyboard with CAC reader above the numeric keypad). By searching google, I found the cacard java project (https://cacard.dev.java.net/) which was replaced by the OpenSSO project. But I can't seem to find sample code of how to use it to connect to a card, read from a card, etc. Does anyone know where I can find some sample code so that I can start learning how to interact with a CAC card using java? Thanks EDIT: After researching more, I was thinking, would I be able to just set clientAuth="true" in the connector element in the server.xml file? http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/ssl-howto.html clientAuth: Set this value to true if you want Tomcat to require all SSL clients to present a client Certificate in order to use this socket.

  • WinVerifyTrust API problem

    - by Shayan
I'm using WinVerifyTrust API in windows XP and I don't want any kind of user interaction. But when I set the WTD_UI_NONE attribute, although it doesn't show any dialog boxes, but it waits for a long time on the files that in fact wanted user interaction (I mean files which without mentioning the NO UI it will ask the user for that file). This is my code: WINTRUST_FILE_INFO FileData; memset(&FileData, 0, sizeof(FileData)); FileData.cbStruct = sizeof(WINTRUST_FILE_INFO); wchar_t fileName[32769]; FileData.pcwszFilePath = fileName; FileData.hFile = NULL; FileData.pgKnownSubject = NULL; /* WVTPolicyGUID specifies the policy to apply on the file WINTRUST_ACTION_GENERIC_VERIFY_V2 policy checks: 1) The certificate used to sign the file chains up to a root certificate located in the trusted root certificate store. This implies that the identity of the publisher has been verified by a certification authority. 2) In cases where user interface is displayed (which this example does not do), WinVerifyTrust will check for whether the end entity certificate is stored in the trusted publisher store, implying that the user trusts content from this publisher. 3) The end entity certificate has sufficient permission to sign code, as indicated by the presence of a code signing EKU or no EKU. */ GUID WVTPolicyGUID = WINTRUST_ACTION_GENERIC_VERIFY_V2; WINTRUST_DATA WinTrustData; // Initialize the WinVerifyTrust input data structure. // Default all fields to 0. memset(&WinTrustData, 0, sizeof(WinTrustData)); WinTrustData.cbStruct = sizeof(WinTrustData); // Use default code signing EKU. • ActionScript/Flex ArrayCollection of Number objects to Java Collection<Long> using BlazeDS

    - by Justin
Hello, I am using Flex 3 and make a call through a RemoteObject to a Java 1.6 method and exposed with BlazeDS and Spring 2.5.5 Integration over a SecureAMFChannel. The ActionScript is as follows (this code is an example of the real thing which is on a separate dev network); import com.adobe.cairngorm.business.ServiceLocator; import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.rpc.remoting.RemoteObject; import mx.rpc.IResponder; public class MyClass implements IResponder { private var service:RemoteObject = ServiceLocator.getInstance().getRemoteOjbect("mySerivce"); public MyClass() { [ArrayElementType("Number")] private var myArray:ArrayCollection; var id1:Number = 1; var id2:Number = 2; var id3:Number = 3; myArray = new ArrayCollection([id1, id2, id3]); getData(myArray); } public function getData(myArrayParam:ArrayCollection):void { var token:AsyncToken = service.getData(myArrayParam); token.addResponder(this.responder); //Assume responder implementation method exists and works } } This will make a call, once created to the service Java class which is exposed through BlazeDS (assume the mechanics work because they do for all other calls not involving Collection parameters). My Java service class looks like this; public class MySerivce { public Collection<DataObjectPOJO> getData(Collection<Long> myArrayParam) { //The following line is never executed and throws an exception for (Long l : myArrayParam) { System.out.println(l); } } } The exception that is thrown is a ClassCastException saying that a java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to a java.lang.Long. I worked around this issue by looping through the collection using Object instead, checking to see if it is an Integer, cast it to one, then do a .longValue() on it then add it to a temp ArraList. Yuk. The big problem is my application is supposed to handle records in the billions from a DB and the id will overflow the 2.147 billion limit of an integer. I would love to have BlazeDS or the JavaAdapter in it, translate the ActionScript Number to a Long as specified in the method. I hate that even though I use the generic the underlying element type of the collection is an Integer. If this was straight Java, it wouldn't compile. Any ideas are appreciated. Solutions are even better! :)

  • Writing a docx file to a BLOB using Java 1.4 inside Oracle 10g

    - by Jon Renaut
    I'm trying to generate a blank docx file using Java, add some text, then write it to a BLOB that I can return to our document processing engine (a custom mess of PL/SQL and Java). I have to use the 1.4 JVM inside Oracle 10g, so no Java 1.5 stuff. I don't have a problem writing the docx to a file on my local machine, but when I try to write to BLOB, I'm getting garbage. Am I doing something dumb? Any help is appreciated. Note in the code below, all the get[name]Xml() methods return an org.w3c.dom.Document. public void save(String fileName) throws Exception { ZipOutputStream zos = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(fileName)); addEntry(zos, getDocumentXml(), "word/document.xml"); addEntry(zos, getContentTypesXml(), "[Content_Types].xml"); addEntry(zos, getRelsXml(), "_rels/.rels"); zos.flush(); zos.close(); } public java.sql.BLOB save() throws Exception { java.sql.Connection conn = DbUtilities.openConnection(); BLOB outBlob = BLOB.createTemporary(conn, true, BLOB.DURATION_SESSION); outBlob.open(BLOB.MODE_READWRITE); ZipOutputStream zos = new ZipOutputStream(outBlob.setBinaryStream(0L)); addEntry(zos, getDocumentXml(), "word/document.xml"); addEntry(zos, getContentTypesXml(), "[Content_Types].xml"); addEntry(zos, getRelsXml(), "_rels/.rels"); zos.flush(); zos.close(); return outBlob; } private void addEntry(ZipOutputStream zos, Document doc, String fileName) throws Exception { Transformer t = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer(); ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); t.transform(new DOMSource(doc), new StreamResult(baos)); ZipEntry ze = new ZipEntry(fileName); byte[] data = baos.toByteArray(); ze.setSize(data.length); zos.putNextEntry(ze); zos.write(data); zos.flush(); zos.closeEntry(); }

  • BouncyCastle GCM/CCM Exceprion in JAVA

  • Pinning a Java application to the Windows 7 taskbar

    - by Paul Lammertsma
Original question I use Launch4j as a wrapper for my Java application under Windows 7, which, to my understanding, in essence forks an instance of javaw.exe that in turn interprets the Java code. As a result, when attempting to pin my application to the task bar, Windows instead pins javaw.exe. Without the required command line, my application will then not run. As you can see, Windows also does not realize that Java is the host application: the application itself is described as "Java(TM) Platform SE binary". I have tried altering the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\javaw.exe to add the value IsHostApp. This alters the behavior by disabling pinning of my application altogether; clearly not what I want. After reading about how Windows interprets instances of a single application (and a phenomenon discussed in this question), I became interested in embedding a Application User Model ID (AppUserModelID) into my Java application. I believe that I can resolve this by passing a unique AppUserModelID to Windows. There is a shell32 method for this, SetAppID(). (Or SetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID?) Is it possible to call it via JNI? If so, would this even resolve the issue? On a side note, I was curious if any of the APIs discussed in this article could be implemented for a Java application. Edit after implementing JNA, as Gregory Pakosz suggested I've now implemented the following in an attempt to have my application recognized as a separate instance of javaw.exe: NativeLibrary lib; try { lib = NativeLibrary.getInstance("shell32"); } catch (Error e) { Logger.out.error("Could not load Shell32 library."); return; } Object[] args = { "Vendor.MyJavaApplication" }; String functionName = "SetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID"; try { Function function = lib.getFunction(functionName); int ret = function.invokeInt(args); if (ret != 0) { Logger.out.error(function.getName() + " returned error code " + ret + "."); } } catch (UnsatisfiedLinkError e) { Logger.out.error(functionName + " was not found in " + lib.getFile().getName() + "."); // Function not supported } This appears to have no effect, but the function returns without error. Diagnosing why is something of a mystery to me. Any suggestions? Working implementation The final implementation that worked is the answer to my follow-up question concerning how to pass the AppID using JNA. I had awarded the bounty to Gregory Pakosz' brilliant answer for JNI that set me on the right track.

  • How to use Bouncy Castle lightweight API with AES and PBE

    - by Adrian
    I have a block of ciphertext that was created using the JCE algorithim "PBEWithSHA256And256BitAES-CBC-BC". The provider is BouncyCastle. What I'd like to do it decrypt this ciphertext using the BouncyCastle lightweight API. I don't want to use JCE because that requires installing the Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files. Documentation seems to be thin on the ground when it comes to using BC with PBE and AES. Here's what I have so far. The decryption code runs without exception but returns rubbish. The encryption code, String password = "qwerty"; String plainText = "hello world"; byte[] salt = generateSalt(); byte[] cipherText = encrypt(plainText, password.toCharArray(), salt); private static byte[] generateSalt() throws NoSuchAlgorithmException { byte salt[] = new byte[8]; SecureRandom saltGen = SecureRandom.getInstance("SHA1PRNG"); saltGen.nextBytes(salt); return salt; } private static byte[] encrypt(String plainText, char[] password, byte[] salt) throws NoSuchAlgorithmException, InvalidKeySpecException, NoSuchPaddingException, InvalidKeyException, InvalidAlgorithmParameterException, IllegalBlockSizeException, BadPaddingException { Security.addProvider(new BouncyCastleProvider()); PBEParameterSpec pbeParamSpec = new PBEParameterSpec(salt, 20); PBEKeySpec pbeKeySpec = new PBEKeySpec(password); SecretKeyFactory keyFac = SecretKeyFactory.getInstance("PBEWithSHA256And256BitAES-CBC-BC"); SecretKey pbeKey = keyFac.generateSecret(pbeKeySpec); Cipher encryptionCipher = Cipher.getInstance("PBEWithSHA256And256BitAES-CBC-BC"); encryptionCipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, pbeKey, pbeParamSpec); return encryptionCipher.doFinal(plainText.getBytes()); } The decryption code, byte[] decryptedText = decrypt(cipherText, password.getBytes(), salt); private static byte[] decrypt(byte[] cipherText, byte[] password, byte[] salt) throws DataLengthException, IllegalStateException, InvalidCipherTextException, InvalidKeyException, NoSuchAlgorithmException, NoSuchPaddingException, IllegalBlockSizeException, BadPaddingException { BlockCipher engine = new AESEngine(); CBCBlockCipher cipher = new CBCBlockCipher(engine); PKCS5S1ParametersGenerator keyGenerator = new PKCS5S1ParametersGenerator(new SHA256Digest()); keyGenerator.init(password, salt, 20); CipherParameters keyParams = keyGenerator.generateDerivedParameters(256); cipher.init(false, keyParams); byte[] decryptedBytes = new byte[cipherText.length]; int numBytesCopied = cipher.processBlock(cipherText, 0, decryptedBytes, 0); return decryptedBytes; }

What are the main differences? Can I use Dojo for the GUI and Java as the back-end? Is there a list of Java frameworks for web development?

  • Running a Java program with a .dll from Adobe AIR's native process

    - by Donny
I would like to be able to operate a scanner from my AIR application. Since there's no support for this natively, I'm trying to use the NativeProcess class to start a jar file that can run the scanner. The Java code is using the JTwain library to operate the scanner. The Java application runs fine by itself, and the AIR application can start and communicate with the Java application. The problem seems to be that any time I attempt to use a function from JTwain (which relies on the JTwain.dll), the application dies IF AIR STARTED IT. I'm not sure if there's some limit about referencing dll files from the native process or what. I've included my code below Java code- while(true) { try { System.out.println("Start"); text = in.readLine(); Source source = SourceManager.instance().getCurrentSource(); System.out.println("Java says: "+ text); } catch (IOException e) { System.err.println("Exception while reading the input. " + e); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Other exception occured: " + e.toString()); } finally { } } } Air application- import mx.events.FlexEvent; private var nativeProcess:NativeProcess; private var npInfo:NativeProcessStartupInfo; private var processBuffer:ByteArray; private var bLength:int = 0; protected function windowedapplication1_applicationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void { var arg:Vector.<String> = new Vector.<String>; arg.push("-jar"); arg.push(File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("Hello2.jar").nativePath); processBuffer = new ByteArray; npInfo = new NativeProcessStartupInfo; npInfo.executable = new File("C:/Program Files/Java/jre6/bin/javaw.exe"); npInfo.arguments = arg; nativeProcess = new NativeProcess; nativeProcess.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.STANDARD_OUTPUT_DATA, onStandardOutputData); nativeProcess.start(npInfo); } private function onStandardOutputData(e:ProgressEvent):void { tArea.text += nativeProcess.standardOutput.readUTFBytes(nativeProcess.standardOutput.bytesAvailable); } protected function button1_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { tArea.text += 'AIR app: '+tInput.text + '\n'; nativeProcess.standardInput.writeMultiByte(tInput.text + "\n", 'utf-8'); tInput.text = ''; } protected function windowedapplication1_closeHandler(event:Event):void { nativeProcess.closeInput(); } ]]> </fx:Script> <s:Button label="Send" x="221" y="11" click="button1_clickHandler(event)"/> <s:TextInput id="tInput" x="10" y="10" width="203"/> <s:TextArea id="tArea" x="10" width="282" height="88" top="40"/> I would love some explanation about why this is dying. I've done enough testing that I know absolutely that the line that kills it is the SourceManager.instance().getCurrentSource(). I would love any suggestions. Thanks.

  • Java method for android:layout_gravity

    - by André Leitão
Hi folks, I would like to know if is there a way to call android:layout_gravity property from a java method. I didn't found any method in Android documentation to do it. This is the picture of the layout I want to implement: I know to do it through xml, as following: <FrameLayout xlmns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <Button android:layout_gravity="left|center_vertical" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="<" /> <Button android:layout_gravity="right|center_vertical" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text=">" /> </FrameLayout> But in my situation, I need to do it through Java code, because I'll implement another layout views dinamically. To avoid merging xml layout with Java code, I would prefer make all layout using Java. Can you help me? Thanks. André Leitão

  • java serial I/O: handling USB serial connection/disconnection in a robust manner

    - by Jason S
I'm using rxtx for serial I/O handling in Java with an FTDI2232H that provides a USB comm port. It works great, with one exception: if I unplug the USB cable, so that the COM port disappears at runtime, it spews exceptions left and right: java.io.IOException: No error in nativeavailable at gnu.io.RXTXPort.nativeavailable(Native Method) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1427) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1339) and when I re-plug the cable in again, it does not recover. Is there any way to get rxtx to work properly with USB comm port connection/disconnection? (I've tried to post to the rxtx mailing list but for some strange reason I cannot send messages even though I am subscribed to the list. I've emailed the list admin and have gotten no response.) If not, is there another serial I/O framework that does?

  • How to get Java Decompiler / JD / JD-Eclipse running in Eclipse Helios

    - by Universalspezialist
Java Decompiler (JD) is generally recommended as a good, well, Java Decompiler. JD-Eclipse is the Eclipse plugin for JD. I had problems on several different machines to get the plugin running. Whenever I tried to open a .class file, the standard "Source not found" editor would show, displaying lowlevel bytecode disassembly, not the Java source output you'd expect from a decompiler. Installation docs in http://java.decompiler.free.fr/?q=jdeclipse are not bad but quite vague when it comes to troubleshooting. Opening this question to collect additional information: What problems did you encounter before JD was running in Eclipse Helios? What was the solution?
