  • How to disable scrollbars with JavaScript?

    I need to lock the browser scrollbars when I show a div that represent a modal window in Internet Explorer 7 only. Googling I found that I can use document.body.style.overflow='hidden' but this doesn't work for IE7. I also tried with document.body.scroll="no" which works but only after I mouse over the scrollbar :-S Does anybody knows a better aproach? Thansks

  • Best practices for dimensioning control panels in WPF

When executing the program, I would like that when I have to resize the window using the mouse, the stack panel and all controls inside it can also be resized automatically and proportionally to the window.   • Change table columns width on resizing window or splitter

    Consider there is a QTablWidget and a QTextEdit. Both of them are in a horisontal QSplitte. Let the QTable widget has 2 columns. The problem is to resize the table columns' width as you do resize operation by moving the splitter with mouse. Are there any options to may colums to be resized synchornosly with the table? Thanks.

Anyways, my question is whether there is a property on the WPF ListBox control which I can set that will automatically display the full text of a truncated list item into a Hint Tip? For example, with some WinForm list-container controls, the Hint Tip only appears when the mouse is hovered over a list item that is truncated.

The problem is the height vertical alignment for various screen sizes....What would be the most common sleek looking solution to this issue? Let's assume that the most common screen resolution for the site's audience is 1024x768 but it should look good on smaller resolutions too (specifically for laptops). Thanks!

  • WPF Animation Duration

    I have a storyboard like the following Duration="0:0:1" Completed="DeviceExplorer_Completed" The animation for some reason does not appear to be working linearly. If I change the duration to something like Duration="0:0:0.8" and assign the stroyboard to a MouseEnter event of a button, the animation moves but does not complete for some reason, I move my mouse over the button a few times before it enetually completes... Any ideas why?

  • How to make Flash 'play well with others'?

    What up fam. So this isn't a question asking about memory management schemes; for those of you who may not know, the Flash Virtual Machine relies on garbage collection by using reference counting and mark and sweep (for good coverage of these topics, check out Grant Skinner's article and presentation). And yes, Flash also provides the "delete" operator, which can (unfortunately only) be used to remove the properties of dynamic objects. What I want to know is how to make it so that Flash programs don't continue to consume CPU and memory while running in the background (save loading content or communicating remotely, for example). The motivation for this question comes in part from Apple's ban on cross compiled applications (in its SDK 4) on the grounds that they do not behave as predicted with the multitasking feature central to iPhone OS 4. My intention is not only to make Flash programs that will 'pass muster' as far as multitasking in iPhone OS 4, but also to simply make better (behaving) Flash programs. Put another way, how might a Flash application mimic the multitasking feature of iPhone OS 4? Does the Flash API provide the means for a developer to put their applications to 'sleep' while other programs run, and then to 'awaken' them just as quickly?   • disable scrolling to cell in focus

    I have a jtable inside of a scrollpane. how can i stop the scrollpane from scrolling up or down when a cell that is partly out of view gains focus? the problem is i am setting the cells to editable when the user mouses over them, so when you mouse over a cell that's partly out of view, the view changes suddenly. I don't like this behaviour. any ideas on how to change it?

  • Creating same-width hit-zones on MenuItems in ASP.NET 2.0 Menus that include MenuItems added at runt

    In an ASP.NET 2.0 application, I want to permit a user to select a MenuItem, even if the user does not click the actual text of the MenuItem, but instead only clicks the highlight area that ASP.NET places around the currently selected MenuItem (represented by the DynamicHoverStyle.BackColor property). Since the BackColor is displayed the same width for each MenuItem in a submenu, based on MenuItem with the longest text, I would like to make the hit-zone (clickable area) of each sub-MenuItem the same width (same at the BackColor area), regardless of how much text is displayed in the in each individual sub-MenuItem. Here's the setup. I am using a Menu on a MasterPage to display a similar menu on each of my pages. Some of the pages suppress this menu, and some of them add addition MenuItems, sometimes to the top level, sometimes adding sub-MenuItems to an existing top-level MenuItem, and sometimes both (adding a MenuItem to the top level and then additional MenuItems as submenuitems to that newly added top level. This menu has a horizontal orientation, and it is dynamic, in that only the top level is initially exposed, and the submenus are displayed when selected. During usability testing, we noticed that users would select a top-level menu item to expose the submenu, and then select a submenu item, but not by necessarily clicking on the submenu item text, but instead clicking on the BackColor area of the submenu item. Since the text of some MenuItems are longer than others, MenuItems with short Text have a rather large BackColor area. When the user clicks on the BackColor area, but not directly on the MenuItem Text, nothing happens, since the user didn't actually click on the submenu item hit zone. Although there are visual cues as to what part of the displayed MenuItem is clickable (the mouse pointer changes to a link cursor when the mouse is positioned on the MenuItem Text, but not when it is only hovering over the BackColor), this behavior confused the users. They highlighted a MenuItem, and clicked it, but nothing happened. I would to make clicking a MenuItem successful, even if the user did not click on the actual Text of the MenuItem, but simply click on the BackColor area. It seems like there should be a property somewhere to control the width of the active area of the displayed MenuItems, but I do not see it. Any suggestions, given that I am creating some of these MenuItems at runtime?
