• dotTrace cant create deploy folder on Windows Azure Web Sites (WAWS)

  I get the error message 'Can't create deploy folder.' when I try to profile a remote websites on WAWS. Actions taken: Downloaded and installed the dotTrace Profiler 5.5 from the JetBrains website Downloaded the dotTrace.Performance.Remote version 5.5.0 from Nuget Published the website to WAWS via Visual Studio 2013 Started the dotTrace application as Administrator Connected to the remote _https://subdomain.azurwebsites.net/AgentService.asmx. See image: http://1drv.ms/1nF5Cyh Selected the w3wp process and pressed Run Got the error message 'Can't create deploy folder'. • Drupal rendering incomplete views

  I got tapped to do some quick maintenance on a recently migrated Drupal site. I'm pretty new to Drupal, so hopefully the problem is something that more experienced guys will figure out quick. Behavior is as follows. The public content works fine as far as I can tell. When I go to login, the login form renders correctly, but when I post the form w/ my credentials, I get back a blank page (not a 404; looks like a 200 to the /user URL, but all the gets rendered is empty Head and body tags). If i refresh the page, I get the content of my profile view, but none of the site chrome or CSS. Note that this is not an issue on the site it was migrated from, so it seems like something wasn't copied over correctly. The site's not public, so I can't provide a URL, sorry!

Users will have different custom metrics, businesses willl have seperate metrics, the admin section will have seperate, Advertises will have seperate, etc. So basically the goal is to have 1 framework in place for all Analytics, which will be custom user to user and even use that for the system analytic needs also. It will include data analytics as there will be user ratings/reviews to perfomr data mining on for businesses, USers will have basic reporting on their needs (like friend demographics, filter by different preferences, etc). • Template approach for a PHP application

  Hi everyone, We're in the middle of making a new e-commerce related PHP application and we have come to the point where we have started to think about how we should solve templating for our customers needs. What we would like to do is offer our customers the possibility of uploading/modifying templates to suit their company:s profile. The initial thought is that we shall not reinvent the wheel, so instead letting our customers upload their templates with FTP, so there will be basic HTML skills required. For those customers that want to modify/customize template and doesnt have the knowledge, we offer that service as well. I know that there's a number of issues to solve before this could be considered safe, like preventing XSS and writing scripts that check through each uploaded file for potential security threats and so on. Of course, there are some part that probably will be to complex for the customer to modify by themselves, so maybe this approach won't apply to all<< template files in the frontend application. But besides that, what would be a good way to handle this?

• Can a MAC address be used as a reliable part of a rights management (DRM) scheme?

  We're currently writing some software that we want to protect. We thought that registering a user's MAC address in a database upon activation of the software seemed viable; we can profile and grab that with a Java applet, (is there a better way?) so getting it isn't too much of a problem. However, we want their computer to only run the application, and download application files/updates from the server when their MAC address has been verified with their one on-file. We understand that this means a lockdown to one computer, but special changes can be made on request. What would be the best way to verify their MAC address, to see if it exists in the database, and then serve them the files to run the application? (And to simply run it on subsequent requests, to prevent re-downloading.)

  Hi, I have a C++ code that upon execution: Loads JVM (I have full control on how to load the JVM), and call Java methods (from loaded classes) using C JNI code. The Java code has no Main() and it is actually not a standard Java application. it is mainly a static code that compiled and compacted into Jar file, the code is being called by the C++ module. Is it possible to profile this Java code being executed by YourKit (have license for it)? If so I'll be glad to know how. Thanks, Guy

• How do I create a point system in a Rails/Twitter app that assigns points to users and non-authentic

  I'm building a question and answer application on top of twitter and I'm hitting some snags because I'm inevitably dealing with two classes of users: authenticated and non-authenticated. The site enable users to give points to other users, who may or may not be authenticated, and I want to create a site-wide point system where the application stores and displays this information on their profile. I want to save this point data to the user because that would be faster and more efficient but non-authenticated users aren't in our system, we only have the twitter handle. So instead we display the points in our system like this: @points = point.all( :select => "tag, count(*) AS count", # Return tag and count :group => 'tag', # Group by the tag :order => "2 desc", :conditions => {:twitter_handle => params[:username]}) Is there a better way to do this? Is there a better way to associate data with non-authenticated users?

• Sharing on Facebook from public kiosk -- user can't logout from FB!

  I have a website that is designed to be run at a kiosk at public events. I want users to be able to share a page from this site on Facebook without leaving their Facebook session logged in. This is not a Facebook Connect site (there's no login to synchronize w/FB), all I have is a link for sharing that goes to Facebook's sharer.php: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u="http://mysite.com/mypage">share this</a> It allows the user to log in and posts the link fine, but then closes the window and leaves the user logged in. There is no option for logging out, so the next user that comes along and wants to share has the previous user's FB account logged in! Seems like this just changed when Facebook's UI changed recently; previously it would redirect to the user's profile page after posting, from which they could log out. How can I fix this? Any recommendations on the "right way" to allow sharing with FB from a public kiosk?

• Where are Wireless Profiles stored in Ubuntu [closed]

  Where does Ubuntu store profiles that allow it to remember the credentials to private wireless networks that it has previously authenticate to and used? I just replaced my Uncle's hard drive with a new one and installed Ubuntu 10.04 on it (he had Ubuntu 9.10 on his old hard drive. He is at my house right now, and I want him to be able to access his private wireless network when he gets home. Usually, when I upgrade Ubuntu, I have his /home directory on another partition, so his wireless profile to his own network persists. However, right now, I'm trying to figure out which .folder I need to copy from his /home/user folder on the old hard drive, to the new hard drive, so that he will be able to have wireless Internet when he gets home. Does anyone know with certainty, exactly which folder I need to copy to the new hard drive to achieve this?

Reading the related questions i find an interesting reference to [VERP]2. Under the heading 'Software that supports VERP i find that IIS is not on the list. Does that mean i need to find a library to integrate into my store's assembly? • Drupal subscriptions to taxonomy only

  Playing around with the subscriptions module; i have some troubles getting it to send the right notification for right subscription. Here's the situation : I have a content-type of type 'work'; it has a cck-taxonomy field; when creating the content users choses one category in which his 'work' fulfills. In user profil, under Categories (user/3/subscriptions/taxa) I choose two categories, lets say 'house work' and 'car work'. When creating a new 'work' content I do not get the notification. But, when manually select 'content-type' in user's profile of type 'work' I get the notification e-mail but independant to which 'category' i had chosen. This is quite annoying since I only want the user to receive his notifications upon the taxonomy he has chosen, not for every new content of type 'work'. Am I missing something obvious here ?

• Installing WindowBuilder on Eclipse 4.2

  I'm using Eclipse Juno 4.2, downloaded from here. On previous installs, I've been using 3.7, and I've been using WindowBuilder, which I find very useful. I noticed it wasn't included this time, so I used this update site provided on this page (the zip file download gives a "file unavailable" error). However, when I run the install, it rapidly climbs to 28%, then freezes. After half an hour, I get a very long error that start with this: An error occurred while collecting items to be installed session context was:(profile=epp.package.java, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=). Multiple problems occurred while downloading. Unable to read repository at http://download.eclipse.org/windowbuilder/WB/integration/4.2/plugins/org.eclipse.wb.core_1.5.0.r42x201205291332.jar.pack.gz. • Update an app from other iTunes/Computer without losing the Documents folder

  Hello, Our inHouse tech have installed our own app to some of our iPods 3.x devices. Now, we have to update that app but WIHTOUT LOSING the data that has been entered by users. The problem is that the computer who installed those app and syncronyzed, isn't working now, and when we try to update them from another computer, iTunes insist in deleting ALL apps and documents app from iPods and add the new ones. I suppose that this action will erase ALL documents from the app, so we will lose the data. What can we do ? thanks, m. ps. those devices have currently an AdHoc profile

• how to exchange variables between extern iframe and site

  hey guys, for developement reasons (working with facebook-connect) i put the connect iframe in an iframe. on that way i am able to work on the connect-thing independent of my ip and don't have to develop on the live-server. the iframe holding the connect-button iframe is on my server, accessing the same db-server as the developer version (developer version is running on localhsot). as far as good ... BUT how can i let the parent site know, that the user has connected, so that i get his profile-picture displayd as reaction to this? how can i react in generally on an action/event/JS in an iframe? is there a way? can the iframe post data to the parent site? like a time-stamp and fb_userid? if the iframe stuff doesn't work ... i thougt of saving the ip to the fb_userid (to db) and check matches ... but i don't like this idea.

• Rails has_one vs belongs_to semantics

  I have a model representing a Content item that contains some images. The number of images are fixed as these image references are very specific to the content. For example, the Content model refers to the Image model twice (profile image, and background image). I am trying to avoid a generic has_many, and sticking to multiple has_one's. The current database structure looks like: contents - id:integer - integer:profile_image_id - integer:background_image_id images - integer:id - string:filename - integer:content_id I just can't figure out how to setup the associations correctly here. The Content model could contain two belongs_to references to an Image, but that doesn't seem semantically right cause ideally an image belongs to the content, or in other words, the content has two images. This is the best I could think of (by breaking the semantics): class Content belongs_to :profile_image, :class_name => 'Image', :foreign_key => 'profile_image_id' belongs_to :background_image, :class_name => 'Image', :foreign_key => 'background_image_id' end Am I way off, and there a better way to achieve this association?

  Hi. I'm trying to select all elements that have a class, get their ID's (if they have one), and append individual spans to the end of my document based on that information. • visual studio 2008 keyboard gets locked when editing source controlled files

  Hi, I am facing a strange issue with editing source controlled files (especially aspx files) using visual studio 2008. when I check out and edit the file, I can edit fine for few seconds and after that keyboard gets locked and I can't type anything (it doesn't affect the files not added to source control). as soon it is locked, if I try to type, the focus shifts to solution explorer and other windows and sometimes it freezes and doesn't respond at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling visual studio, reinstalling the source control plug-in. none of it worked. not sure if it is my machine or my profile. Please help if you have any clues. I can't see any other solution for this except rebuilding the machine Thanks, Rama
