    I am very pleased with Outlook 2010 but since I can't use it anymore I have two big options : buy it or search for a decent cheaper/free replacement.   • GitLab post-receive hook not firing

    Apologies if this isn't the right stackexchange. I have a GitLab install. It was installed over the top of a gitolite install that was only a few days old, and I assume this non-standard setup is at the root of my problem, but I cannot pin it down. The problem is straightforward: post-receive hooks are not fired. This prevents 'project activity' appearing in GitLab. The problem looks like: $ git push #... error: cannot run hooks/post-receive: No such file or directory Hook Exists The post-receive hook/symlink exists and is executable: -rwxr-xr-x 1 git git 470 Oct 3 2012 .gitolite/hooks/common/post-receive lrwxrwxrwx 1 git git 45 Oct 3 2012 repositories/project.git/hooks/post-receive -> /home/git/.gitolite/hooks/common/post-receive It's Executable By GitLab The gitlab user can execute the script (I have removed the /dev/null redirect and fed in blank input to get an 'OK' as output): sudo su - gitlab -c /home/git/.gitolite/hooks/common/post-receive OK GitLab Can Find It GitLab is looking for hooks in the correct location: $ grep hooks /srv/gitlab/gitlab/config/gitlab.yml hooks_path: /home/git/.gitolite/hooks/ and $ bundle exec rake gitlab:app:status RAILS_ENV=production # ... /home/git/.gitolite/hooks/common/post-receive exists? ............YES Environment The env -i line in the hook is commonly cited as an issue.   • How to compare mp3, flac audio data in a file, ignoring header data (ID3 tag) etc.?

    I've backed up some audio files up in 2 places and added ID3 tags into one backup but not the other, since time has passed my own memory has faded on whether the backups are actually the same, but now one has ID3 data and the other doesn't, basic binary compare will fail and inspection will be cumbersome. Is there a tool to compare just the audio data (not the header, ID3) in mp3s, flac files, and other files using header data such as ID3. started a thread on beyond compare here: http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=7413 would consider other comparison software that does this task

    My service for World Wide Web Publishing Service started successfully but whenever I browse to http://localhost/ I always get 502 Unknown host.   • pg_dump not working - do I need to change order of $PATH?

    I'm trying to set the $PATH to pick up the latest version of pg_dump as I'm currently getting a mismatch error while doing a migrate in my Rails app (I recently changed the schema type to SQL). I have added a new file in /etc/profile.d called pg_dump.sh, and inside that put: PG_DUMP=/usr/pgsql-9.1 export PG_DUMP PATH=$PATH:$PG_DUMP/bin export PATH On looking at echo $PATH, I get: /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/bin:/usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194@global/bin:/usr/local/rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p194/bin:/usr/local/rvm/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/pgsql-9.1/bin:/root/bin And I still get the error. Do I need to change the order? If so any ideas how?     Firefox 4's default home page provides a search engine with some snippets below. Is there any way to customize the search engine used through about:config or some other configuration file? localStorage["search-engine"] sometimes gets reset, possibly after a FF update. I would like to avoid creating a greasemonkey script that scripts on about:home. If an extension exist to fulfill the task, I'd be happy too. I'm using Firefox from Kubuntu 11.04 for that matters.

    How can I mount windows share file system into RHEL? I'm not a sysadmin, but I got this task assigned :( I've tried this solution mount -t smbfs -o username=samba,password=samba //Desktop/Public /mnt/public But the output is: mount: unknown filesystem type 'smbfs' How can I mount a windows share into RHEL 5? FWIW I've successfully created a link with the menu: Places>Connect to Server>Service Type:Windows Share Which creates a link in the desktop, but I would need to programatically save files in that machine, hence I need it mounted as filesystem.   • Firefox 16 freezes or crashes when playing Youtube or flash videos

    Using the most up to date Firefox (16.0.2), and Adobe Flash. Whenever I go to any youtube video or flash video on another page, Firefox starts the video, but only plays the audio, and then when I make any click on anywhere within Firefox, it gets completely stuck. It freezes and the only way to get it to close is to go to task manager. I restarted in Safe Mode and it did the same thing. Windows 7 64 bit.
