  I have just bought one Raspberry pi RaspberryPi. I want to load linux kernel there. Actually my plan is to first load kernel ver sion 2.6.* after that one 3.10.* above that and in boot time I want to load 3.10.* (can choose). just after booting, I want to log in there through my windows machine using client like putty or telnet, on telnet I want see following prompt there: login as: root [email protected]'s password: ********** Last login: Thu Aug 21 22:41:07 2014 from 10.78.235.82 [root@debd ~]# [root@debd ~]#ls [root@debd ~]# Documents ... • Alsa version numbers not consistent

  I've recently moved from 10.04 to 12.04 and have problems with crackles on audio when the screen changes (especially obvious in a Skype conversation with video). !!Kernel Information !!------------------ Kernel release: 3.2.0-26-generic-pae Operating System: GNU/Linux Architecture: i686 Processor: i686 SMP Enabled: Yes !!ALSA Version !!------------ Driver version: 1.0.24 Library version: 1.0.25 Utilities version: 1.0.25 Running through the SoundTroubleShooting procedures I got the above details at Step 3. Is the mismatch between the Driver version (1.0.24) and the Library and Utilities versions (1.0.25) the cause of my problem, or should I be looking elsewhere? In answers to the question "Will ALSA 1.0.25 version have time to enter 12.04?" I read that 1.0.25 would be part of the new kernel, but my kernel version appears to be newer than the original release.

• Design documents as part of Agile

  At my workplace, we face a challenge in that "agile" too often has meant "vague requirements, bad acceptance criteria, good luck!" We're trying to address that, as a general improvement effort. So, as part of that, I am proposing that we generate design documents that, above and beyond the user story level, accurately reflect the outcome of preliminary investigations of the effect of a given feature within the system and including answers to questions that we have asked the business. Is there an effective standard for this? We currently face a situation where a new feature may impact multiple areas in our "big ball of mud" system, and estimates are starting to climb due to this technical debt. Hopefully more thoughtful design processes can help.

They are touching if ALL of the following are NOT true: The right square's left side is to the right of the left square's right side. The right square's right side is to the left of the left square's left side. The right square's bottom side is above the left square's top side. The right square's top side is below the left square's bottom side. If any of those are true, the squares are not touching. If all of those are false, the squares are touching. • ubuntu 12.04 nvidia breaks resolution

  i am running ubuntu 12.04 64-bit and i have a nvidia Geforce GT 650m, it was running fine with 1920 x 1024, except a lot of tearing everytime i ran videos. I thought activating the nvidia driver maybe would fix this. When entering "nvidia X server setting" it says " you do not appear to be using nvidia X driver. Please edit your X configuration file ( just run "nvidia-xconfig" as root), and restart the X server. I did and then the computer reboots with a resolutioin of 640 x 480. How can i restore the previous settings, or preferably get it to show full resolution without tearing ? When i enter "nvidia X Server Settings" now it still says the same as above, " do not appear to be using nvidia X driver" when i go to "system settings, additional drivers" it says nvidia_current -- "This driver is activated but not currently in use" astr0

  I'm development a network card game, and for now i've two players connected but there is a problem with one of them, this one can't do anything on the game. Looks that screen was blocked. I'm think that is because a code i used before. That code is: if (InvokeRequired) { this.Invoke(new MethodInvoker(delegate { ... })); return; } The code above is surrounding code to changing Button values, make connection with server and create game window. Without this code a warning is shown. InvalidOperationException was unhandled Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'startGameButton' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.

• What is (are) the most useful technique/visualization for overall project status?

  For reasons "above my pay grade", we're developing an issue/project tracking system where I work (similar to Trac, FogBugz, etc). The managers want a useful tool to be able to track the overall health of the project (e.g. How much time left, how are we performing vs estimates) and one of the features that has been requested is some type of critical path support and visualization. The logic explained to me is that they want to be sure that at least the most important pieces of the project are currently being worked on. The initial idea was that we would create task-based dependencies. My understanding of project management tells me that this kind of granular approach is unnecessary - having milestones with specific deadlines/dependencies is much more useful. I would like to know what are the most useful techniques and "pretty pictures" you've seen/used for project development. Having objective data would be best, but somewhat subjective data is helpful too.

Even for bulk row delete, any other mean of row selection (shift+click and multiple ctrl+click) works like a charm and the rows are deleted. So apparently it is the use of ctrl+a that causes the problem when deleting multiple rows of an ADF Faces table. • Wireless does not work anymore after software update with Ubuntu 12.10 on a Dell Latitude E6230

  I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my DELL Latitude E6230, on first boot wifi worked properly but when I updated the software it stopped working. I can't figure out the problem... The wireless network controller is a Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless Lan Controller (rev 01) "lshw -class network" gives, for the above controller: *-network UNCLAIMED description: Network controller product: BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0 version: 01 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:f7d00000-f7d03fff After reading the answer to another similar question, I edited the file NetworkManager.conf to make "managed=true", but that did not make any difference, it is as if the wireless adapter were not there. In the "Network" setting window, I only see "Wired" and "Network proxy". Wireless has just disappeared: rfkill list all 0: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no and that's it! Nothing about the wireless controller... Any suggestions?

• Beginner question about vertex arrays in OpenGL

  Is there a special order in which vertices are entered into a vertex array? Currently I'm drawing single textures like this: glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, texName); glVertexPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 0, vertices); glTexCoordPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 0, coordinates); glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP, 0, 4); where vertices has four "xy pairs". This is working fine. As a test I doubled the sizes of the vertices and coordinates arrays and changed the last line above to: glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP, 0, 8); since vertices now contains eight "xy pairs". I do see two textures (the second is intentionally offset from the first). However the textures are now distorted. I've tried passing GL_TRIANGLES to glDrawArrays instead of GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP but this doesn't work either. I'm so new to OpenGL that I thought it's best to just ask here :-) Cheers!

• WHMCS Fatal error: Out of memory while View Invoice PDF

  I can log into WHMCS & can access everything I should be able to access, but if i try to click View PDF Invoice, the following error will occur, Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 67633152) (tried to allocate 76 bytes) in /home/xxxx/public_html/whmcs/includes/classes/class.tcpdf.php on line 8419 I have already set the allocated Memory limit to 256MB, but the error still occurs. At that time of the error, the process memory is exceeding the allocation I set. • Deploying a very simple application

  I have a very simple working console application written in C++ linked with a light static library. It is just for testing purposes. Now that the coding part is done, I would like to know the process of actually deploying the program. I wrote a very basic CMakeLists.txt that create makefiles or VS projects to build the sources. I also have a program that calls the static library in order to make some google tests. To me, the distribution of this application goes like this : to developpers : the src directory with the CMakeLists.txt file (multi-platform distribution) with a README.txt and an INSTALL.txt to users : the executable and a README.txt git repo : everything mentionned above plus the sources for testing and the gtest external lib A this point : considering the complexity of my application, am I doing it right ? Is there any reference that would formalize this deployment process so I can get better and go further ? Say I would like to add dynamic libraries that can be updated, external libraries like boost : how should I package this to deploy it in a professionnal way ?

• Slow Internet Performance in 12.04 LTS

  Have installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I have encountered the below problems. 1. Have two OS. Internet is too slow in U 12.04 compared to Windows 7 2. System Performance is very slow 3. After installing Ubuntu 12.04, my brightness is dark during the initiail time. However, I have resolved this issue and found to be working fine. 4. • Upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04

  On doing an upgrade from 10.10. to 11.04 using Upgrade Manager everything works fine. But on installing a software that bundle its owns runtime environment( loader and system files) and installs the custom runtime ( basically loader) in the location where the native one resides, the above mentioned upgrade fails.(Upgrade starts and after sometime it encounters an error and aborts.) Basically , /usr/bin/dpkg throws up an error on being unable to locate a system shared library in the aforesaid third party runtime folder ( /usr/bin/dpkg should not search the third party runtime folder.Instead it should look at the system default folder) But if we remove the installed third party loader from the default system location /lib and place it in some other location , the upgrade problem goes away. This makes me believe /usr/bin/dpkg invokes(loads) the wrong loader and as such goes looking for the dependent libraries in the third party folder. Can someone take a look at this ? is there some bug with dpkg
