• wxPython ,Change the background colour of a StyledTextCtrl

  I tried (but nothing happens) self.txt.SetBackgroundColour ((255,0,0)) As said in the title I'm trying to change the background colour StyledTextCtrl. Does anyone know a method that could be used? I've checked the API docs but I couldn't seem to find one, http://wxpython.org/docs/api/wx.stc.StyledTextCtrl-class.html (by background colour, I mean the whole writing area, of course) Does anyone know a way I could do this?   Hi, Is it possible to have both background-image and background gradient color applied together in 1 div tag? (CSS3 and above is ok) I have the below code, the gradient background color does show up, but the background-image doesn't. • jQuery > reset popup window 's x and y relative to icon that launched the window

  I have a jQuery jPicker colorpicker that is bound to an input text field and opens onclick of a small picker.gif icon. The problem I'm having is that (1) The colorpicker that opens does not appear to be positioned according to the x/y position of the picker.gif (it opens far away from the click point) and (2) The colorpicker does not seem to be aware of the viewport's scroll position (the top of the colorpicker is partially hidden at the top of the window). I'd like to use jQuery to reposition the colorpalette (1) Based on the x/y position of the input that its bound to and (2) reset it's top position based on the viewport's visible Y position. • Hibernate inserting into join table

  I got several entities. Two of them got a many-to-many relation. When I do a bigger operation on these entities it fails with this exception: org.hibernate.exception.ConstraintViolationException: could not insert collection rows: I execute the operation i a @Transactional context. I don't do any explicit flushing i my daos. The flush is triggered by a query. In the queue are 15 elements (all of the same structure). one of them always fails (but it's always a different one (I checked) and always at a different position). Does anybody have a hint for me for what I might do wrong? My Mapping: @ManyToMany(targetEntity = CategoryImpl.class) protected Set<Category> categories = new HashSet<Category>();

• Padding/Margin/Border On Element Does Not Change DIV Height

  Here is a very simply jsFiddle to demonstrate my problem: http://jsfiddle.net/ryandlf/mSmUv/4/ When an element has a top padding or margin and it sits on the first line within a div, the div does not respect that padding or margin and push the element down. In most cases this isn't an issue, but for example, if I have a button that has a top border and padding the top of the border will be cut off because the div is not taking into consideration the padding value. Is there a workaround for this other than just blindly setting margins or padding on every container div element and hoping I have added enough to account for any internal element that might be affected?

• DotNetOpenAuth I need some help please

  I know this has been posted before, but never really answered, I'm using the DotNetOpenAuth to try and do GoogleID login, and every time I do details = OResponse.GetExtension<ClaimsResponse>(); I always, always, always get back null, I don't get whats the point of the GoogleID if I can't get back any information, I would think at the very least I would get an email address, so I could associate it other login information in my databse. I just don't understand could really use some help, Im probably just looking at openID in the wrong way. I'm using ASP.NET and looking to use openID/Facebook as my sole means of logging in users, I really don't want to mess with membership roles, or extra junk that ASP.NET likes to add.

• Most efficent way to limit rows returns from union query- TSQL

  Hey guys...I have a simple stored proc with two queries joined with a union select name as 'result' from product where... union select productNum as 'result' from product where... I want to limit this to the TOP 10 results... if i put TOP 10 in each seperate query I get 20 results total. What is the most efficient way to limit total results to 10? I dont want to do TOP 5 in each because I may end up in a situation where I have something like 7 "names" and 3 "productsNumbers"

• Is there a way to split the results of a select query into two equal halfs?

  I'd like to have a query returning two ResultSets each of which holding exactly half of all records matching a certain criteria. I tried using TOP 50 PERCENT in conjunction with an Order By but if the number of records in the table is odd, one record will show up in both resultsets. Example: I've got a simple table with TheID (PK) and TheValue fields (varchar(10)) and 5 records. Skip the where clause for now. SELECT TOP 50 PERCENT * FROM TheTable ORDER BY TheID asc results in the selected id's 1,2,3 SELECT TOP 50 PERCENT * FROM TheTable ORDER BY TheID desc results in the selected id's 3,4,5 3 is a dup. In real life of course the queries are fairly complicated with a ton of where clauses and subqueries.

• Javascript: parseInt() with trailing characters

  parseInt("7em", 10); returns 7 in all browsers I tested [*]. But can I rely on this? The reason I ask is, that I want to perform some calculations based on em, like /* elem1.style.top uses em units */ elem2.style.top = parseInt(elem1.style.top, 10) + 1 + "em"; I could do this with regular expressions, but parseInt is easier to use, and probably a bit faster. Or is there another solution (maybe using jQuery)? [*] Tested so far on: IE 6, IE 8, Safari 4, Firefox 3.6, Opera 10.5

• Adding a UIView to a UITableViewCell via cell.contentView

  I have a class called GraphView that extends UIView that basically draws a small little line chart. I need one of these graphs at the top of each section in my UITableView. So I tried by creating a separate cell at the top of one of my sections and then on that cell I did: [cell.contentView addSubview:graphView]; [graphView release]; But when I scroll down, it's like the graph is glitchy and it shows up in random spots along the UITableView. Anyone have ideas or insight? Is there a better way to incorporate another UIView into the top of each section in my UITableView?

• Layering of CSS with z-index

  I have a created a 3 circle venn diagram using pure CSS3 and each circle has a :hover event attached to it. I also have an image of an arrow which is pointing to the center of the venn diagram. I want the arrow to visually appear to be on top of the circles, so I put the z-index higher on the arrow than the circles. The problem now, is that the :hover event does not trigger on half of the venn diagram now because the arrow image is on top, which causes the hover to be on top of the arrow rather than the circle that I want it to be over. So is it possible to make an element have a high z-index visually but not programmatically?

• Is it bad practice to use Reflection in Unit testing?

  During the last years I always thought that in Java, Reflection is widely used during Unit testing. Since some of the variables/methods which have to be checked are private, it is somehow necessary to read the values of them. I always thought that the Reflection API is also used for this purpose. Last week i had to test some packages and therefore write some JUnit tests. As always i used Reflection to access private fields and methods. But my supervisor who checked the code wasn't really happy with that and told me that the Reflection API wasn't meant to use for such "hacking". Instead he suggested to modifiy the visibility in the production code. Is it really bad practice to use Reflection? I can't really believe that

• Control ( UIButton, UILable) Hides when the Video plays Again on iPhone!

  Hi, I have displayed UIButton on top of Playing Movie using this code. [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; } There are 2 buttons on top of my movie layer. They play different videos.Now the strange part is the video plays fine with buttons showing on top of it. When i press the button to play the other movie plays but the buttons doesnt show. Seems the view reloads and flushes all the Subviews. But i have checked it in the debug mode and it enters into the 'if' condition and this line runs [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; But the buttons are not dislpayed. • RewriteCond simply doesn't work, doesn't check properly if file exists

  Hey everybody. I've been trying to solve this for hours now but came up with nothing. Inside .htaccess, whenever somebody requests an image from a folder of my website, I'm trying to check if a file with the same name exists in another folder; if it does, return that file; if it doesn't, return the file originally requested. It seems so easy but it simply doesn't work. The .htaccess code is as follows: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond /images/blog/watermark/$1 -f RewriteRule ^(.*) /images/blog/watermark/$1 The "RewriteCond" always returns negative, so the image requested is always loaded as is. If I change it to, like, RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f it always returns positive, so it gets the image from the folder I want - except when the image's not there, generating an error, which is exactly what I'm trying to prevent. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  Skipping the question of whether this is bad design (and the question of why I would want/need to do this), I'm just wondering if my 'math' is right... I have n things that need to be put in order (n is always less than 5): thing1 thing2 thing3 ... and I'd like to store these results in a single integer for thing. My initial thought is that (obviously the code will not look like this): thing = thing1 * 1 + thing2 * 2 + thing3 * 4 + thing5 * 8 will always give me a unique value, and that any value for thing will always translate back to its values for thing1...thingn. Is this correct?

  Hi guys. I am new to Python so please don't flame me if the question is too basic :) I have read that Python is executed from top - to - bottom. If this is the case, why do programs go like this: def func2(): def func1(): #call func2() def func() #call func1() if __name__ == '__main__': call func() So from what I have seen, the main function goes at last and the other functions are stacked on top of it. Am I wrong in saying this? If no, why isn't the main function or the function definitions written from top to bottom?

• jQuery UI dialog positioning

  I am trying to use the jQuery dialog UI library in order to position a dialog next to some text when it is hovered over. The jQuery dialog takes a position parameter which is measured from the top left corner of the current viewport (in other words, [0, 0] will always put it in the upper left hand corner of your browser window, regardless of where you are currently scrolled to). However, the only way I know to retrieve the location is of the element relative to the ENTIRE page. The following is what I have currently. position.top is calculated to be something like 1200 or so, which puts the dialog well below the rest of the content on the page. $(".mytext").mouseover(function() { position = $(this).position(); $("#dialog").dialog('option', 'position', [position.top, position.left]); } How can I find the correct position? • padding not shifting my logo

  I have a logo link that's using a background-image (css sprite). All works fine, but when I try to add a 20px padding to the top of the link (to give it more space for user to click the link), the background image is not moving down. • Page layout breaks only in Opera which is weird?

  Okay so I'm working on an admin panel, in which everything should always be only within the view port until you hit the minimum widths and heights set. The current version of it can be seen here (its still in development) : http://qwibbledesigns.co.uk/preview/Admin/ In layout terms, it works flawlessly in all browsers, even down to ie6 =D. However, opera doesn't like it, and for some reason, always add's extra space to the bottom of the page, making it have an extra scrollbar, and I can't fathom it out which is highly annoying. Jquery is used to set the height of the container, sidebar, and content area so that they're always within the browser view port, and these functions rerun when the window is resized. I therefore cannot work out the the life of me what's wrong with opera. Would anyone mind taking a look and seeing if they can work it out? =D
