• How to prevent Spell checking code in MS Office?

  We use MS Office. Outlook for emails, Word for some documentation and I use OneNote a lot for my own note taking. What bugs me is when I drop some code or use key words or even camel case into these apps the spell checking picks them up and I have red squiggles everywhere. Ignore is pretty much useless, so either I have to turn off Spell Check altogether start adding these to the custom dictionary. What would be good is if I can use the Set Language function to mark a whole block of text to just not be spell checked. Has anyone found a nice solution to this or do you know of a blank dictionary is best to use? I found using "Mohawk" kind of does that... might just use that for now. Maybe create a macro to switch between them.

• Changing UINavigationBar font in Swift

  I have a UINavigationBar with a title in the middle. I have added a custom font ("Comic_Andy.ttf") to my app (I have checked info.plist to make sure it's listed, and I have checked the Copy Bundle Resources to make sure it has been added), and I would like the title of the UINavigationBar to be displayed in that font. From what I can gather it seems as though I'm supposed to use this in my ViewController: myNavigationBar.titleTextAttributes = [NSFontAttributeName: UIFont(name: "Comic_Andy", size: 22)] I placed that method in the viewDidLoad function of the ViewController. I have also tried this in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions function of the AppDelegate: UINavigationBar.appearance().titleTextAttributes = [NSFontAttributeName: UIFont(name: "Comic_Andy", size: 22)] I am programming in Swift, in XCode 6 Beta 6. Many resources regarding this task have mentioned using a method called setTitleTextAttributes, which is nowhere to be seen. I can't figure it out for the life of me - I've probably spent close to 3 hours on it by now - I have checked every StackOverflow answer, every website, so please do not mark this as a duplicate. • Web app - Biometric system connection

  Hi, I will be developing an application for a club where they will have visitors use biometric systems(finger print) or magnetic cards to mark their attendance. This application is planned as a web app, made using PHP/MySQL/Javascript. It does a lot of other things as well. What I wanted to find out is how is the interface between Biometric/Megnetic Card systems to a web app done? I've never worked on this and am hoping if someone who has experience with this can throw some light on this as to how this could be accomplished. Any pointers will be appreciated. (I'm afraid there's got to be some form of application installed on a pc that would interface with the hardware and probably makes calls to the web app. But, if there was a way to connect it to the web app directly, then the app would be easy to deploy to any location with minimal installation.)   If I change the type to const char str[Len], I get the following error: error: no matching function for call to ‘static_strlen(const char [5])’ Am I correct that static_strlen expects an array of const char references? My understanding is that arrays are passed as pointers anyway, so what need is there for the elements to be references? • ASP.NET MVC - Add XHTML into validation error messages

  Hi, Just starting with ASP.Net MVC and have hit a bit of a snag regarding validation messages. I've a custom validation attribute assigned to my class validate several properties on my model. When this validation fails, we'd like the error message to contain XHTML mark-up, including a link to help page, (this was done in the original WebForms project as a ASP:Panel). At the moment the XHTML tags such as "< a ", in the ErrorMessage are being rendered to the screen. Is there any way to get the ValidationSummary to render the XHTML markup correctly? Or is there a better way to handle this kind of validation? Thanks

  Hi, Hope my subject line was descriptive enough. Basically, I have a table called Students, and one called Absences. The Students table contains student information (Name, DOB, StudentID etc.), the Absences table contains any absences (Date, Reason, related by StudentID). I want to get a full list of the students, plus a count of their absences. Sample results would be: StudentName Absences ------------- ----------- Johnny 3 Mark 2 James 1 Anthony 0 Sharon 0 Can someone suggest a way I should tackle this problem? • How do I set default values on new properties for existing entities after light weight core data migration?

  I've successfully completed light weight migration on my core data model. My custom entity Vehicle received a new property 'tirePressure' which is an optional property of type double with the default value 0.00. When 'old' Vehicles are fetched from the store (Vehicles that were created before the migration took place) the value for their 'tirePressure' property is nil. (Is that expected behavior?) So I thought: "No problem, I'll just do this in the Vehicle class:" - (void)awakeFromFetch { [super awakeFromFetch]; if (nil == self.tirePressure) { [self willChangeValueForKey:@"tirePressure"]; self.tirePressure = [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"tirePressure"]; } } Since "change processing is explicitly disabled around" awakeFromFetch I thought the calls to willChangeValueForKey and didChangeValueForKey would mark 'tirePresure' as dirty. But they don't. Every time these Vehicles are fetched from the store 'tirePressure' continues to be nil despite having saved the context.

  I am using Sql Server 2005 This is a part of my database diagram. I want to perform deletion on my database which will start from tblDomain up tp tblSubTopics. Consider that each table has IsDeleted column which has to be marked true if request was made to delete data. But that data shoud remain their physically. Tables which will have IsDeleted Column are tblDomain tblSubject tblTopic tblSubTopic Now I want, if a user marks one domain as deleted then all the refrence field should also get marked as deleted. i.e. 1 domain is related to 5 subjects, those 5 subjects are related to 25 topics, those 25 topics are related to 500 subtopics and so on. Then how should i mark all these fileds as Deleted. ?

If the user clicks the X then it will call dismiss() which will mark it as being read in the database. The thing is, if the message itself contains a link to another page or external site, I also want to call dismiss() before the user leaves the page. Is there anyway to alter this javascript to take all a elements (the X and any links that would appear in the message) and change the onclick to call the function?

  I'd like to measure the performance of some code blocks in my c# winforms application. In particular I want to measure performance regression/improvement after some restructuring of the code. So long I've seen the System.Diagnostics.Stopwatch. However, I want to avoid writing measuring code into my classes, I would rather prefer to separate measuring from actual code. As for debugging, you can set breakpoints on several code lines and "jump" from one to the next by "Continue Execution", I imagine something similar for measuring: Mark to lines of code and make Visual Studio display the time elapsing from one to the next. Is there any feature/add-in in that direction?

  I'm trying to get a page to refresh when navigated to from the back button. From what I understand after reading around a bit I should just need to mark the page as uncacheable but I can't get any browsers to refresh the page. I heard from the community that before diving into driver development one must be familiar with windows internals that means one must read "Windows Internals by Mark Russinovich. I'm going to buy this book today. Which edtition should I buy? 4th edition covers Windows XP & Windows 2003 where as 5th edition covers Windows Vista & windows server 2008. I don't know in driver world how much difference this thing would make. How different are these two editions? should I first read 4th edition & then come to 5th or should I directly dive into 5th?

• c# multi threaded file processing

  There is a folder that contains 1000 of small text files. I aim to parse and process all of them while more files are being populated in to the folder. My intention is to multithread this operation as the single threaded prototype took 6 minutes to process 1000 files. I like to have reader and writer thread(s) as following : while the reader thread(s) are reading the files, I d like to have writer thread(s) to process them. Once the reader is started reading a file, I d like to mark it as being processed, such as by renaming it, once it s read, rename it to completed. How to approach such multithreaded application ? Is it better to use a distributed hash table or a queue? Which data structure to use that would avoid locks? Would you have a better approach to this scheme that you like to share?

• Entity data field validation and part data submission

  I have an entity class that has 10 fields. I am using MS Validation Application block to mark all fields as mandatory (IsRequired). I am implementing a securiy feature in which during updation of the data, not all the fields in the entity class will have data. For example a few users can only view 5 fileds while others all 10 fields during updation on GUI I have the following options 1) Bring all the data for all the fields from the DB table and hide the ones not accessible to the users in GUI. I am concerned about the performance because everytime GUI will pull unncessary data. 2) Bring the data (e.g. only 5 fields) that are permissible for access/view by the user on GUI. During submit, validation block will throw exception because all fields are marked as IsRequired and only data for 5 fields are sent back to the server. I want to know if there are any other good approaches to solve problems like this. I am using .NET 3.5 Thanks.

  I'm having trouble finding a regular expression that matches the following String. Korben;http://feeds.feedburner.com/KorbensBlog-UpgradeYourMind?format=xml;1 One problem is escaping the question mark. Java's pattern matcher doesn't seem to accept \? as a valid escape sequence but it also fails to work with the tester at myregexp.com. Here's what I have so far: ([a-zA-Z0-9])+;http://([a-zA-Z0-9./-]+);[0-9]+ Any suggestions? Edit: The original intent was to match all URLs that could be found after the first semi colon.

• Passing get values mangles my urls

  Just upgraded from 1.3 to 2.0.3 and I'm trying to migrate all the changes. I'm noticing that the following line echo $this->Html->link('Quote', array('controller'=>'crm_quotes', 'action'=>'index', $lead['id'].'/'.$crmContact['CrmContact']['id']), null); builds the url "/crm_quotes/index/15/21". When I click the link I'm taken to url: "/crm_quotes/index/15%2F212 so it's replacing the characters with the html # but it's ultimately breaking the link. When I manually edit the URL to the correct one: "/crm_quotes/index/15/21" the page loads. Can someone enlighten me? Should I be using the url function rather than link? I have a lot of pages that need multiple parameters passed in the url. I was using named parameters but after reading some comments by Mark Story I decided to stop the named parameters as he hinted at their possible removal from future versions.

  I want to have all same size(width) cells in tableView no matter what accessory they have. If text in a cell almost fits to a cell, If i click that cell, check mark(accessory at the right) is displayed and some of characters goes to next line. it's annyoing. It's ok to do wordwrap. I can adjust cell's height. But I dont' want a cell displays different number of characters in an line depends on it's clicked or not. How can I do that?? thanks.

The query I have written so far is SELECT DATEADD(dd, DATEDIFF(dd, 0, Timestamp), 0) as Date, Event, Count(Event) as EventCount FROM Log GROUP BY Timestamp, Event This almost works, but EventCount is always 1. How can I get SQL Server to return the correct counts? All fields are mandatory.

• Referenced Assembly won't load

  I've got a visual studio 2010 project which publishes an assembly called myAssembly.ddl. I then want to reference myAssembly.dll from an existing vs 2008 project. If I try to load the reference it comes up with an yellow exclamation mark next to it, suggesting that the assembly wasn't loaded. However, I'm not getting any error messages during that process. Obviously, if i try to import the namespace in my code it doesn't compile. Converting myAssembly.dll to a .net version 3.5 doesn help. Nor does copying the assembly to a different directory and referencing it from there. Any ideas?

• Passing in a value to a usercontrol through a foreach loop

  in my asp.net mark up I have a foreach loop that iterates through a simple list. In this foreach loop I am adding a new user control and attempting to pass in the value from the loop. However, this value just wont budge and get inside that damn control! Anyone have any suggestions? <%foreach (userInfo i in this.items) { %> <uc1:ItemControl ID="ItemControl" runat="server" UserID='<%#Eval("userID") %>'/> <%} %> userID is a public property in the control, when it goes to set, the value is just literally : <%#Eval("userID") %. I've tried #Bind and =Value but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated!
